Guest Reviews
- Vincent (9/5): -
- Lelia (10/5): I come to Medford every year for the past 5 years and always stay here. The management is excellent and friendly, rooms - It's quiet.
- Lizabeth (4/5): It was a motel. - Decent value, excellent check in, close to the hospital. Structurally needs work, bathroom door knob came off in hand.
- Tracy (10/5): - They offer good coffee and breakfast. Road noise
- Austin (7/5): - the beds were comfortable and the location was good since winco was across the street. breakfest was a let down. i expected better than what was offered. could be improved.
- Jane (9/5): - Always clean and safe. Had to wait longer than usual for someone to come and check me in. Office locked when I arrived and had to call number on note on the door. In the past I could always go into office and, if non one there, ring bell and someone came out right away. This time I had to wait and man came from upstairs outside and yawned the whole time he was helping me!
- Eunice (1/5): TERRIBLE - Nothing Cold pool, dirty rooms, outdated (pictures on the internet made it look nice) breakfast in the morning the guy prepping it was still doing it and you could tell he just ran across the street to buy for it said milk was in the fridge and was just a 1/2 gallon container just an overall bad experience $100 security deposit that took 5 days to fine my account.

- Lelia (7/5): Been staying here for 5 years - will continue to do so. - The location was ok. Initially my daughter and I did not have a room close to each other and she felt uncomfortable the 1st night. We talked to management about it the next morning and he upgraded her at no extra cost to the room next to me. That was amazing!!! I am fine with Sovana! I come every year to visit my elderly momma and will continue using Sovana for all my upcoming visits.

- Wendy (10/5): If you are looking for clean, safe, basic lodging, this place is perfect. - The room was spotless. An excellent value for the price. It was quiet and comfortable. This was our third stay and we will be back when we travel through Medford again.
- Gail (5/5): -
- PAUL (5/5): - very poor parking access to room
- Francesca (8/5): - Ok per le nostre necessità, letti comodi. niente da segnalare
- Audrey (6/5): - Personnel agréable et chambre propre Un peu bruyant et vieux équipements
- Hainsworth (5/5): The staff was nice but probably won’t be back as there are much better options for nearly the same price - It was decently clean The pool was a dirty green mess, brought my swim trunks but it was totally unusable, and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable
- Rosemary (8/5): - The room was clean, comfortable, and nice. However, the outside looks like a scene from a police movie raid on a motel. The motel sign needs repair and there were no lights on to help find the site. The pool was dirty, and parking was tight. From the outside, it looked seedy, but the interior was great.
- Paula (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, nicely updated, friendly helpful staff
- Ankit (9/5): Comfy stay - 1. Good location
2. Decent breakfast
3. Comfortable bed
4 Quiet location
- Emily (8/5): - Staff went above and beyond. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, shower was hot. No frills, but for the cost I have no complaints. Surprisingly super quiet.
- Alicia (7/5): -
- erika (1/5): -
- Renee (6/5): - Very convenient to the airport which is why I booked the room. When I booked online, listing showed they offered shuttled service to the airport, which was not the case.
- Robin (6/5): -
- Karl Heinz (5/5): -
- Susanna (6/5): - The beds and bath were clean enough but there were marks on the walls and doors
- Scott (9/5): Excellent hotel, great value. - We checked out after breakfast was closed and when we asked if there was coffee, the kind host gave us back our key to get into the locked breakfast area. We made coffee and deposited our key in the drop box. Rooms were very clean and we enjoyed that there were plenty of clean towels, more than we needed.
- Srinivasa (2/5): - Stay away from this place. You can’t sleep (lots of noise, bed bugs, noisy toilet flush )
- Gary (8/5): -
- Eric (8/5): Séjour à Medford - Bien situé à Mesford. Facile d'accès depuis l'I5. Petit motel des années 50 bien refait. Malgré la route la chambre était calme.
Petit déjeuner sympathique.
Personnel à l'écoute et disponible La chaleur à Medford
- James (8/5): - The place was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is not a comfortable chair to sit in other than a desk chair so if you want to just watch TV either sitting on the bed or sitting in a desk chair. It's probably also time to update the bathrooms has although they were very clean there was chips out of the porcelain tub I'm just a general process of disrepair. But for me it was just fine I really appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed
- Cindy (2/5): - I am requesting a full refund for my recent booking in Medford, Oregon ([Hotel Name], [Confirmation #], [Dates of Stay]).
When I arrived with my two children, the property was unsafe and not as advertised. There were escorts coming and going, homeless individuals loitering nearby, and clear signs of illicit activity. This created an unsafe atmosphere for me and my kids, and I feared for our safety. I would have left immediately and stayed somewhere else, but because there was a concert in town that night, there were no other accommodations available.
If I could give this property zero stars, I would. Please process my refund right away, or let me know the fastest way to resolve this.

- lynne Marie (10/5): - Great budget inn. We stayed here after our visit to the Oregon Caves on our way home to California.
Fernando the manager was so kind to turn in the AC before we arrived. It located close to the freeway , lots of restaurants and stores. The bed the was very comfortable and the were hot and strong.
- Sharon (10/5): - The staff absolutely made the place. Could not have been more helpful!! Will definitely stay here again.
- Erica (8/5): - This was a convenient place to stay, with a great community vibe. The staff gave good recommendations for nearby places. I appreciated that commitment
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not all that impressed. - The room looked nothing as fancy as in the picture, which is very deceiving. It looked like it hadn't been updated much since the 1960s. There wasn't even a closet, just a rack afixed to the wall and a few hangers that didn't match each other. The A/C continuously runs and blows directly on the bed when it's cycling on. The air being blown was very cold and you can't change the air temperature, it just cycles the fan depending on the setting. It was hot outside, so turning it off was not a good option. They will charge you $200 if you smoke in the room, but they don't bother getting rid of the smell of old smoke, which is not so great. But the most annoying thing was relying on the soap dispenser in the shower... which was completely empty, as I discovered when I was already in the shower and wet. I would not return.
- James (4/5): - Not sure how this place had an 8.2 rating, the staff were very friendly but room was barely ok and the breakfast had flies swarming it and was quite disgusting. Would not stay at again.
- April (10/5): - Very nice. Clean rooms. Very helpful personnel.
- Pieter (4/5): - I not the staff were able to hook me up to wifi. The shower tap/shower switch did not work, with water coming out of both all the time.
The breakfast room was a dingy place. Breakfast items were few. No water, milk or juice, even though there was cereal. The room was clean.
To he fair, the man on duty made a few attempts to get wifi going, but without success.
- Adrian (9/5): Don't judge a book by its cover! - The manager was very friendly and attentive, there was a good breakfast and the beds were very comfortable. It just didn't look much from outside but it was absolutely fine!
- Leslie (10/5): - Friendly staff & conveniently located. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on in a hotel.
- Rebecca (8/5): Comfortable, clean and welcoming! A good choice! - Super friendly staff, and clean and comfortable rooms. A great two-night stay, with good breakfast, and offering a 10% discount to eat at a local Mexican restaurant, which was very enjoyable! A good base to explore the area and go to Crater Lake, which is incredible! They need a new sign! It is a bit shabby and gives the wrong impression. We were apprehensive as we pulled into the place but were pleasantly surprised!
- Santoshini (10/5): - I had a late night check in and Fernando was wonderful. I'm not good at parking so he parked my car for me, carried my bag and walked me to my room and made sure I was safely inside for the night. He is so kind, caring and took great care of me. He will treat every guest like they are his family. Management give Fernando a raise! He is the heart and soul of Sovanna Inn. Also, housekeeping did a excellent job as the room and bathroom were spotless. Nice comfortable bed and though hotel was pretty full it was very quiet. Enjoyed my stay.
- Ros (9/5): Superb - Reception staff great. Room good value Bathroom faucet loose.
- Renato (10/5): Great stay - Clean quiet comfortable
- Marycon (10/5): - We like the location and closer to everything.
Above all we like the warm welcome of their manager Fernando. He’s great.and friendly. Excellent customer service.Surely we will be back. Thank you.
- James (8/5): - Aged exterior. Kinda retro in a way. Inside of room was nice clean enough. A little dust here and there but not bad. Very clean bathroom lots of towels. Very hot water. Parking I can imagine could be challenging on busy nights. I was there on a Thurs. And parking lot was not quite full. Noisy other guests. Not the establishments problem just some inconsiderate guests. With the ac blowing drowns out most noise. Busy road out front during day. A little road noise. Ive stayed in much worse places. So not perfect, but perfectly adequate.
- Roger (8/5): Very good -
- Brady (10/5): - It’s was clean and secure. Don’t let an odd location and a sign that needs a paint job deter you
- Jennifer (1/5): Bad -
- Tyffany (6/5): - The staff and service was excellent and the room was clean; however, the property isn't accurately represented in the online photos.
- Theresa (4/5): - Very old dated furniture; not well maintained; noisy AC; shower “sprinkles”; sketchy neighborhood; sign was tattered and peeling; very disappointing!!
- Alexandria (1/5): Bad - NOTHING! The pool was dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, only one channel on the tv, cracks on ceiling and walks, the bathroom sink was dirty. The manager pounded on the door at 8am to tell us breakfast was ready. The food was sub standard. The shower drain was not working. This place needs a bulldozer!
- Melissa (8/5): - The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The breakfast options were too limited. There were zero protein options like yogurt or hard boiled eggs, which are common for continental breakfast.
- Zoe (5/5): Passable - Friendly Staff!! Rooms could be fresher and seemed to look nicer in photos than in person.
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (8/5): Great place for the price - Our room was clean. Also, a gentleman, by the name of Fernando, was waiting in the parking lot to give us directions about where to park, etc. He explained that he is there 24/7 and to call him if we need anything. He was very, very friendly and helpful. There was a lot of noise throughout the night.
- Venys (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (10/5): - The interior and amenities were unusually well organized. I appreciated the two bottles of water that were furnished.
- Christopher (6/5): - Staff was nice. Rooms are dated but clean. Beds a little to firm for mine and my wife’s backs, liking. Breakfast is ok, no waffle maker, pretty limited. Is close to a lot of restaurants. Shower has good hot water. Plenty of towels.
- Kevin (6/5): - The overall look of the outside needs some help. Parking seemed limited. The service was great. I was in a one bedroom and it was small but clean and good amenities.
- Debra (7/5): Good -
- Fat (10/5): Exceptional - No breakfast provided
No staff on duty when we check out
- Sharon (6/5): - All was good nothing fancy, small but clean. Breakfast was a disappointment only because no protein at all. Large muffins and bagels. Fruit. Needed more variety but with as few as people that were there I guess it was enough. Good coffee.
- David (10/5): - Simple and clean. Really friendly, helpful staff. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Medford.
- Cenis (5/5): Passable -
- Andrew (6/5): - outside looks like a dump, inside is a little better but not much. tub enamel pealing up, dirty floors as in white socks turn a little brown.
- Carl (10/5): Stay here! - Great place 👌
Great VALUE. $$
The staff is excellent!
- Jessica (10/5): - The exterior looks a bit rough when you pull in, but the place is clean and comfortable. The proprietor is very nice and the hotel is a great deal overall. Very glad we stayed here and will stay again. If you’re on a budget, this is a great deal unlike some of the other places I’ve stayed in the area which are dirty and unsafe. Quite pleased! This is my new favorite motel when I visit family in Medford.
- Liz (10/5): Affordable and pleasant - Clean , well maintained, friendly Nothing
- Alicia (8/5): - Staff was very friendly, excellent customer service. Place was clean and good location.
- Sarah (10/5): - It was a great hotel with cozy vibes and a lovely host, Fernando, who made sure we had everything we needed. Close to food and shopping and in an easily accessible location.
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional - for the price it was worth it. All met expectation Parking directions
- Jeannette (8/5): It was a great price and they had breakfast. The staff was super nice and looked like they take pride in their hotel. - Great location!
- Gerald (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent. Bagels were fresh as was the fruit. AC/heat fan was a little too loud.
- Jane (10/5): - We have stayed at here for many years and it is the best ever! ALWAYS clean bedding, floors, bathroom; plenty of towels that are good quality; staff is wonderful to everyone; nice little breakfast (not hot but nice variety) and room is always clean and they never run out of things.
Sovana Inn is a GEM!
- Shawna (6/5): - It was very outdated. Furniture very old. Worried I was going to break things if I touched them. Bed was not comfortable. Very stiff but the room was super clean and the customer service was impeccable
- M (1/5): Bad -
- Parii (8/5): Don't judge a book ...... - Check in was smooth but room given to us had not been cleaned so changed rooms. Room we had was warm, furniture was dated but we enjoyed that, bed was a little uncomfortable but manageable, shower was clean and functional despite broken curtain rod. First drive up the place felt sketchy but after check in, manager came flying towards us to welcome us and assure us a nice stay and next morning again told us about breakfast. There were no safety concerns and the area has several new food and shopping options. For the price, location, and general great attitude and attention from checking staff and manager we would stay again for sure!
- John (10/5): Nice place - Clean and organized.
- Ronald (10/5): Nice stay, clean, liked location, Mini breakfast - Location was perfect. Enjoyed mini breakfast to start my day. Management was very kind and hotel and the grounds were nicely clean. Noting to complain about.
- Ryan (8/5): Very good -
- Claudia (7/5): Looking for a stay off freeway, clean, quiet, nothing fancy. Staff ready to assist in your stay, th - Staff was awesome, he brought us ice and ice machine was turned off. Always ready to assist! You get what you pay for, outdated.
- Gus (7/5): Good -
- Jeff (9/5): Superb - Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location for my needs. Lots of food options near by.
- Jeff (10/5): I found the staff genuine and helpful. - Great location. Get in and out of town easy. It’s an older property but still modern enough.
- Pamela (2/5): All was fine until.. - When I first arrived, I was impressed by the initial service I received. The person at reception was informative and answered all of my questions. Also, at the time of my arrival, I was surprised at the details in the room for it being a basic and economical hotel. I was surprised that they provided things like quality coffee with the coffee maker and that they provided essential bathroom body products, even makeup remover- which was different. After using the room for a couple hours and putting my 3-year-old daughter down to sleep, I did not notice until I was about to go to sleep that there were bed bugs. I inspected the bed and there were several that I could see. I informed the staff and they offered me a different room and attempted to guarantee that the problem was isolated in the first room I was in. I didn’t take more than 5 minutes of being in the second room to notice another bed bug so I informed the staff that I would be leaving immediately and that I expected a refund. I was surprised that they said they would offer a refund on the condition that I did not write a review. Of course, it is important to be honest about experiences like this and to keep the general public safe and healthy, so the review is necessary. The hotel should take proper measures to utilize pest control and to mitigate this problem, it is one of the risks of operating a business in this industry.
- Fernando (10/5): - Restaurants are near by. The continental breakfast has a variety of food
- Laurieanddavetravel (8/5): good - clean and quiet the refrigerator motor was very loud and we had to unplug it. also the heater/fan was loud but kept the room warm for the cold weather.
- Norbert (9/5): Superb -
- Eman (2/5): - The posted rating of the motel 8.2 does not reflect actual condition. I stayed one night and the morel is lower than 2 star motels, wifi was not working breakfast was very basic.
- Deisygb (8/5): Very good - Good value for your money. Very clean, comfortable bed and hot shower.
- Randy (10/5): - Fairly quiet although not in a quiet neighborhood. Front desk staff was great! Not using the shower as there is a number of spots in the tub that are in need of repair. Bathroom is very small. Bed is comfortable. Decent price on Expedia, but probably will not return. Parking lot has very small parking spaces.
- Warner (4/5): Disappointing -
- Seth (8/5): - I liked the hot shower. The bathroom was clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly
- Dennis (4/5): Never again, even if it was free - I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend the place. The queen size beds are full size. Its a 50s or 60s motor inn. It's also got some kind of homeless camp across the street and people were yelling profanities at us as we left our car. I checked the car multiple times and fortunately it was ok. I have no idea how this place got as highly rated as it did but IT HAS TO BE A SCAM.
- Andrew (10/5): - Rooms are clean, comfortable.
TV was much to be desired. In fact no TV.
We were as patient as we could be but still no TV. Ended up just giving up on TV.
- Steven (4/5): - Seeing and hearing yelling homeless every morning across the street, did not inspire feelings of safety. It looked like no one cleaned the breakfast area in days as the garbage cans were overflowing and did not look like they had been emptied during our stay. And then there was the loud refrigerator and cracks in the wall. From the looks of the parking lot and grounds, it looked like we were one of the two units occupied and yet right underneath our room guys were partying into the middle of the night like they were drunk and on drugs.
