Guest Reviews
- Samir (8/5): Very good -
- Maurizio (9/5): Superb -
- Benjamin (5/5): Passable - Well located, nice garden. Vending machine for drinks 24/7 Very old rooms, not everywhere clean. Bed was abit uncomfortable for me.
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional - Close to Pompeii and Vesuvius train+bus stations
- Claudia (10/5): Good service, good staff. I like it - Everything was ok. Love it
- Leah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mery (1/5): Bad - Nothing The room is dirty, the bathroom is dirty, the shower is disgusting. There is nothing in the room. We couldn't get coffee or tea. Horror accommodation.
- Eleanor (9/5): It was great - very functional - Clean, close to Pompeii and the train station and lovely staff! Small ish shower and no hand soap
- Robert (9/5): Superb - free parking, kind receptionist and cleaning lady, good location, very clean hotel
- Kamila (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Sophie (9/5): Superb -
- Flavia (4/5): Worst hotel in my life - Just the location near the ruins. The matress is awful. I barely could sleep. I woke up with back pain. Worst hotel in my life.
- Piotr (10/5): It was short but very nice. There was nice parking there. - Close to the Ruins. Nice place.
- Pritchard (6/5): Pleasant -
- Eduardo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alvaro (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jaimee (7/5): Lovely but small improvements can be made. - Great B&B with a very friendly staff and it has everything you need. The beds are too hard for me and the AC system needs maintenance/ cleaning. Little pieces of black dust come out of the vents.
- Doolan (7/5): Good -
- Sahel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Viki8910 (8/5): Good place - Ambiente buona Staff disponibile
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - Super comfy beds and easy walking distance to the Pompeii ruins
- Simon (3/5): Some pluses, but not as advertised: a B without B. - Good value - if it had what was advertised. Quiet. Good safe parking. Nice garden area - although it was raining for my two days. Really convenient pleasant 15 min walk to Pompeii entrance gate and Circumvesuviana (Pompeii Scavi) station, and OK 15 min walk to mainline (Torre Annunciata Centrale) station. Some might consider the room less than fully clean (dusty floor and an ageing shower), but I thought it was OK for the price. The breakfast advertised on Booking.com was not available: "only in summer". The WiFi stopped working for a bit when it rained. The bed was poor quality and gave me back ache next day. My room had thin walls, so I had the 'pleasure' of hearing others in the act one night. The road outside the property flooded to about 5 cm when it rained heavily, so my shoes and socks were unavoidably soaked en route to the ruins for a 9 am start.
- Maia (7/5): It's ok to stay for one or two days - Hosts are welcoming and pleasent
We were allowed to use kettle and kirchen to prepare coffee. Courtyard as well is nice to sit in the evening. Stuff has a problem with English language,
So we where communicating through the body language or google teanslate ))
Room was not so clean, with dust, but ok to live for two dats
Rubbish was standing for two days and nobody took it away
- Charlotte (5/5): Passable - the location the rooms and beds
- Mitchell (4/5): I wouldn’t stay again. - A large room and staff although couldn’t communicate were pleasant. Outdated rooms which need upgrading, information on booking.com needs updated there is no breakfast. Room big but there was an act infestation and mould. The place has lots of potential, it’s just not being invested in.
Way off the beaten track, Pompei ruins has 7 gates for entry so while it is close to one of them, it’s not necessary.
- David (8/5): - A very friendly hotel, with staff who did everything they could to help us, despite the language barrier. It is comfortable, if old fashioned in decor, which we liked. We had expected to be able to get breakfast and a beer or a glass of wine at night, neither of which was available, though you can get non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks and snacks from vending machines in the foyer. The area is basically industrial but is convenient for the Pompeii ruins, which are just a 20 minute walk away.
- Maarten (7/5): Good -
- Gwendolyn (7/5): Good - The location was quite close to two stations and the Pompeii Ruins. Easy to get to Florence/Sorrento for under €5 on the L1 train. AC worked really well, and housekeeping was prompt in the mornings with fresh towels and sheets. They advertised free breakfast and was nowhere to be found. Had to walk on the side of the road to get to, which is hard with luggage. The shower was a bit hard to use without spilling water everywhere.
- Tara (7/5): Good - The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The location of the b&b was also very convenient with a nice big parking space in the front. The beds were a little hard :(
- Zara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vladi (10/5): Exceptional - The place is really clean and close to Pompei Ruins! Only a 10minute walk. The staff is extremely welcoming and easy going.
- Leia (9/5): Cozy - Very nice place, big rooms and they ask if we want our room cleaned. To reach it by foot there were certain places where there weren’t any sidewalks
- Oakley (8/5): Great location for Pompeii Ruins, comfortable and pleasant. - -Big comfy bed
-Neutrally decorated
-Great aircon
-Big cold fridge in room
-secure free parking across the street
-hosts very accommodating (free early check in if requested, parking throughout the day) - Bed felt slightly wonky
- shower floor dirty/covered in mats
- very VERY quiet (depending on your liking!)
- Alison (7/5): A one night stay before flying home , ideal for us , clean and worth money - Property looked visually nice , with a nice courtyard with umbrellas and seats where you could smoke
Friendly staff , linen and towels in room where clean . room immaculate with aircon but aircon had a funny smell to it
Parking opposite that is locked and secure and whole residence down quiet rd Pillows where a bit hard and bed but that’s personal preference , property a little to far to walk from ruins if you didn’t have a car
- Abigail (7/5): Good - Nice building and rooms. Walkable to Pompeii ruins and trains station. Staff were hard to find sometimes but very helpful whenever we needed anything.
- Yosenia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Harikrishnan (9/5): Superb -
- Collins (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hamish (7/5): Good -
- Nika (8/5): Very good - The staff is super friendly and ready to help, we were allowed to check in earlier than it is stated on the website which was super helpful. The cleaning lady does not speak English but was very kind and we communicated nicely in the end. I loved their garden, it is very relaxing to sit there next to the fountain and among the trees and bushes. You can hear everything that is happening in the hallway and in the neighboring rooms, it almost feels like you are in the room with the people which is very uncomfortable. The floor in the room next to the bathroom was wet, probably a pipe is broken under the floor and is leaking.
- Daniels (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect to explore the Pompeii ruins, it was about a 15 minute walk to one of the entrances. The room was spacious and had all the necessary facilities, with an ensuite bathroom, TV, air conditioning and towels provided. The staff were all super helpful and friendly and there is a nice outdoor sitting area. I did not experience the food at the hotel so can't comment on that front. Overall it was a great value for money and I would definitely recommend it.
- Iaina (6/5): Does the job. - Cheap place to crash very close to the archeology park.
Proper parking area available. Everything is old and not well maintained. Sink wabbling, crack on the shower... Small things like that but everything works and is clean
- Gulu (9/5): Superb - Highly recommended! Thanks to the staff.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yoav (8/5): Great - We arrived a bit late and the receptionist was very nice and helpful. The location is really good because it is close to Pompei entrance and the bus stop to go to the Vesuve, you can go by foot. We could also borrow an adapter for our computer at the reception. The room was big and comfy. Ask for the address because Google Maps won't give you the right way, but then it is easy to find.
Our room was close to the reception so it could be a bit noisy as it is open 24/24 but nothing too bothering.
- Maryia (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful apartments. A very nice owner. Drinks and breakfast were waiting for us in the morning. Everything was wonderful! The room was clean and useful . Thank you! We will definitely come back again.
- H5931OGpamelab (10/5): 2 night stay - We stayed for 2 nights in May... the rooms are clean if a little dated .. bathroom clean shower rather small but I've noticed this in the last couple of hotels .Bed was comfortable and we slept well bed linen and towels spotlessly clean . Our room no3 only had a very small window but it wasn't a problem for us .. some rooms have a balcony. The staff were helpful spoke a little English but we managed to understand each other there are no tea making facilities in the room (finding a kettle in your room in Italy is a massive bonus I'd pack a travel kettle) but we could use the kettle near reception there is a coffe vending machine and a drink and snack machine also relatively cheap . This hotel is perfect for the Pompeii ruins which are about 15 mins walk there are restaurants and bars within walking distance there is mc Donald's nearby and a supermarket. Becareful of the road outside the hotel there is no footpath but that's no fault of the hotel . They have parking and a pleasant courtyard to sit in .we payed 40 euros a night and it was value for money basic maybe but clean comfortable and friendly
- emilymason73 (2/5): DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!! - Whatever you do, do not book this hotel. I booked this hotel for the 4th March 2023. I booked it through Booking.com who then proceeded to put the booking through to Agoda. I decided to send an email to ask how to check in due to the time of arrival (between 9pm and 10pm ). They emailed me back saying that i did not have a booking and to pay for it through agoda. Then, when i sent the confirmation cert, they said they do npt work with Agoda. After much back and forth I've had to book elsewhere. Needless to say, they are refusing my refund and charging me for a room they have said 4 times i did not have!!! Eventually they have admitted that theyve made a mistake, said i could have a room but would you want to stay there because if you didnt they'ed take your money anyway? Do yourself a favour, do not book this place, save yourself the hassle of battling two hotel suppliers and a hotelier that cares not for your suffering only profit.
- angeladS708PP (2/5): NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE - Mix up with booking even though owner confirmed booking by email. They were surprised to see me. Changed tax from 12 euros to 28 euros. No-one informed me. I asked what time breakfast was as I booked B&B back in June and was told they stopped serving breakfast 2 days before I came. Again no-one told me. Was given a room that had damp bedding and pillows and when I eventually explained the situation after many hand signals, I got replacement pillows and a single sheet and had to make the bed myself. The site giving information on the hotel has English/Italian. No-one spoke English and I felt that they really didn't want to deal with me because I only spoke English. I wanted to come home after the first day. Spoilt my first holiday in 4 years. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
- victoriadB1926DO (2/5): Terrible quality - At first glance, the hotel looked nice and welcoming. The staff seemed hospitable. The hotel is located conveniently when it comes to the ruins. However, there were some things about the room worth mentioning.
1. We noticed black mold in the windows both in the bathroom and bedroom. Also in the shower.
2. The shower would change temperature constantly which made it hard to get properly clean.
3. There was no handsoap provided. Luckily we brought our own but this could be a problem for short term visitors.
4. The walls seemed paper thin because we could hear everything happening outside and even heard our neighbors having you know what with the tv on full blast.
5. The bed is super uncomfortable and sprainy. My partner and I woke up with terrible backaches.
6. The location was really gloomy and didn't show what Pompeii had to offer at all.
It was so bad we decided to check out early and stay another place to get a better experience of the city. Waste of money but we refused to stay another night. I highly recommend booking accommodation much closer to the centre!
- Latejita1956 (10/5): Most affordable in Pompei - Location, location, location! And a host and hotel owner who excels in the very best service. Everything was above our expectation. Affordable, affordable, affordable!
PS! Take the opportunity to recommend an unpretentious family-run tavern / pizzeria, Delicia, just 100 meters from Pompei Ruins de Charme.
- tealtravellingtoes (10/5): Beautiful B&B and amazing Host Dino - We stayed at this wonderful B&B for one night and we also asked Dino to drive us to Sorrento and Naples. The B&B is beautifully decorated, and it's also so close to the ruins, the location couldn't be more perfect. And the best part about it is Dino himself, so friendly, so full of correct advice and super helpful! Frankly, haven't come across a single host as amazing as Dino is! Highly recommend this B&B!!
... Per il resto tutto perfetto ...
- L3069OPalicea (4/5): Would not recommend - When we stayed, there was severe black mould in the bathroom, a great big stain on the wall of the bedroom, air con didn't work, the main door was broken as if someone had try to break in. The only reason we got a different room was due to the description stating air con included so they had to provide it, very rude staff. Would not recommend!
- littlelally (2/5): Terrible - There was damp all around the window and the air conditioning the nets were damp and dirty. The sink in the bathroom kept coming away from the wall.
The heating went off before 7pm so the room was freezing had to get into bed to keep warm.
Breakfast was a joke one croissant each and a glass of water did ask for a juice was told they dont do any.
When I ask them to book a taxi was to to call them myself I tried they didn't speak English and kept hanging up on merit took me ages to get someone to help me. Will deffo not be staying there again.
- welshrower (2/5): AVOID !!! - On arrival gardens well presented reception hallways clean well presented ! But the truth came out breakfast x1 crossient 1 coffee ask for more at your peril !! . NO lounge seating area staff were very helpful but the owners daughter very rude no customer service. If your unlucky enough to have room 13 a disgusting stained beaten mattress awaits you with blood stained sheets. HAIRDRYER taped to the wall and the dried flowers outside the room filthy avoid the desolate dirty unhygienic B&b
- GavinL669 (2/5): Rubbish Hotel Terrible service aviod Basil Faulty italian style - Very close to the attractions great location Owners are just after the money!!! No service you pay for everything they don't care breakfast is Italian only 1 croissant and only 1 coffee nothing else very poor) breakfast what breakfast!!! you have to pay ie any extas. No Where to sit and relax. The room (3) was clean but the bed is worn-out very uncomfortable. my sister was in room 13 the bed is stinking stained all over DONT BOOK HERE RUBBISH 😡
- hughesy24 (4/5): Cheap with lots of problems. - In short don’t stay here unless you have a car or bike. The area has nothing and it’s 25 minutes walk to Pompeii (town) 10-15 minutes to the ruins.
Ants were everywhere In this hotel, we had to change rooms when we arrived as ants were all over the shower. Ants are on walls in the corridors, on the floor and everywhere outside (less of an issue).
The rooms are cheap and walls very thin and you can hear too much. The curtains in our rooms were pathetic and woke us up with light by 6am!
Even though it’s a cheap hotel I can deal with most issues but the ants is unacceptable. Breakfast will leave you hungry, not worth waking up for.
- 440alisonh (6/5): First 3 nights in Pompeii - I booked the hotel Pompeii Ruins on the internet some months before in order to be close to The historical sites. I have no complaints about it, it is very good value for money. The rooms are a little old fashioned and basic but we're adequate for our needs. The garden at the front is a very nice place to sit and have breakfast, we also sat there one or two evenings. It is quite a long walk to town to find restaurants etc and not a terribly safe road to walk along.
- tombub7 (6/5): average nothing special - small room with curtains but no window ,very depresive, some tiny window in more than 2meters high, not that close to centr, just like 1km from pompey entrance, breakfast creckers and jam, one croasant, better to go mcdonald behind
- gianfranco (10/5): Bella struttura - Bella struttura con posizione in una via tranquilla abbastanza vicina agli scavi ,parcheggio privato . Colazione modesta.
- lovebirdsonholiday (8/5): Cheap and fine - Hotel is Cheap. the breakfast is nice we had coffee toast and crossiants. Staff were very friendly. Was great to have the free parking so I felt our car was safe. Room was basic and fine. Bed was clean. I think this hotel is a great low cost option. For £25 me and my fiance stayed for one night and got breakfast which is just amazing value. Some reviews are very harsh on this hotel but I think it's cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for and we we're happy with it
- CFMCKR (8/5): It worked for us. - There may be better choices than this hotel, but we were not in the mood for looking. We arrived after dark and there was only one small room left. But it worked for us and the price was definitely right. Free parking (very important to us). Breakfast was nothing to write home about but more than adequate. Not the laden tables of pies, tarts and cookies, but more like a real Italian would have for breakfast. No complaints and rather grateful to the staff for their kindness.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location if you want to visit Pompeii ruins, hard to find
- markjD2790DB (2/5): Don't waste your money - Where do I start.
The owner and daughter are rude, arrogant and just don't care about the customers.
Room is very very basic. Bathroom smells of sewage. If you want a good breakfast go somewhere else, it's pathetic. The only person that works there, that is great is Antonio (night shift) he helped us with advice etc for sight seeing.
- JordanSun2018 (2/5): To Avoid. Dirty and Rude Staff. - I have slept in better hostels!!
The pictures do not correspond to reality.
The bathroom has MOULD, was broken and the shower had dirt, HAIR and mould, as the photos shows
Even worse, the blanket on the bed had yellow stains, was ripped and a couple of spots of old blood, nice! On the first morning we were there, my partner woke up with bites on her legs, the pharmacist told us they were possibly BEDBUGS!
The wall are very thin, and you can hear everything from the rooms next to yours.
The staff is very very rude, unpleasant and careless of clients. They make loud noises and treat you very badly.
Only a guy called Antonio, treated as always nicely, demonstrating a high level of costumer care, moreover, is the only one who speaks good English!
Breakfast is not continental as written in the website, in fact they will serve you only one sweet option. Not suitable for vegans!
- theresamM7368SO (2/5): Pompei ruins hotel NOT Pompei ruins - Some reviews have obviously been incorrectly applied to this hotel when they are describing the magnificent Pompei ruins themselves, thereby giving it a higher score than it deserves
We got off to a bad start when we were greeted with a bad temper display by the receptionist because we did not have small change for the local tax.
In fact she left us standing and the cleaner showed us to our room.
We agree with the many previous trip advisor comments that the room is mouldy and unpleasant.
The bed was uncomfortable and I have never experienced such a hard pillow, which felt like marble. I spent a sleepless night and would never recommend this hotel to any traveller.
The TV was so small and so far from the bed that it was not able to be viewed
We were left standing again after check out when we requested a taxi, after waiting 20 mins it was apparent that none had been called for us.
- Y5057NVmattp (2/5): Rude staff and mould in rooms - This was the worst place I have ever stayed.
The staff are incredibly rude.
The rooms are unclean. Thick dust in any area that is above the eye line. Including the dining area.
Squeeky aircon unit made it impossible to sleep with the air con running.
Beds felt broke . There was no suport except in the very centre.
Breakfast was one pastry and a cup of coffee ( the coffee was good ). Maybe a yogurt if you asked.
Bonues are that it is near the entrance on the ruins and near train line. Apart from that you are looking at around 30 mins walk through non pedestrianised area to get anywhere.
Mould in the rooms under the aircon . I could only assume was from a prior leak.
Al in all avoid this place. Even if the price looks tempting. It is not worth it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely homely hotel near the Pompeii ruins - Nicely located. 10-15 walk to the station and the Pompeii ruins.
- O3277KCmarias (2/5): Staff extremely rude - I've stayed in plenty of cheap hotels, but have never come across such rude staff before. They very clearly hate their jobs and should definitely find something else to do if it makes them so miserable. No hellos, no goodbyes. Just rude glares and a demanding, rude tone whenever they tell you to do anything.
When we asked them questions about where to eat, we had to ask a few times before the lady finally looked up from her phone and gave an annoyed glare, then said "you have to go to pompei".
Breakfast is also terrible. You get a croissant and some packet toast. And it is between 8am-10am with no exceptions (even though no one is cooking it and it would take them 2 minutes to give you some packet food a little earlier or later...)
The room was clean, but the bed sheets were never changed and had stains from previous people that stayed there.
Positives - wifi is great, 15 min walk from ruins/train station.
- Horacio (8/5): Ideal for a one night stay close to the ruins. - The hotel was good although not for their fault the place wasn't easy to find and is very far from basic services. In the other hand I have to say that it seems that unless you are in the city and far away from the ruins, this is always the case.
- Maxim (8/5): Value for money - I believe that all issues were included in the price which was great, so satisfied all in all. Just don't expect too much. The interior is worn-out, mold on the ceiling, but toilet worked OK. The staff is helpful. The district may look daunting to somebody. No cafes or shops nearby. The road to the train station/entrance to the ruins takes about 10-15 minutes. It may be dangerous in the dark because of no sidewalks and precarious driving habits. The breakfast costs just 3.5 euro, but there is nothing to eat really, better eat around the train station or buy something in a supermarket. A rooster yelled every morning from 5 to 8am at the very least, at that there were no eggs for breakfast. WiFi was very poor, don't rely on it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Da evitare assolutamente.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Unfortunately we found the bed uncomfortable and the air conditioner did not work well.
Our check in agent was very helpful and pleasant.
- charles (8/5): - Best place to street for visiting the ruins.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel carino in buona posizione
- RAJESH (8/5): Staff-service is nice but poor breakfast/location - The service was good, the staff was really nice and helpful. There was no cereals in the Breakfast which should be a standard these days. Breakfast is pretty ordinary.
Mal ubicado y falta mantenimiento. Habitación antigua y muy fría.
- shaz (4/5): Terrible - Cold and damp moldy room no heating in the bathroom. Small electric fire in the corner. Only 1 plug socket. So noisy dogs barking most of the night. No tea coffee or kettle in the room.
Whole area very poor and dirty no restaurants or bars
- glen (6/5): Ideal for Pompeii ruins and local transport - had a long weekend break and was all good, friendly helpful staff and a nice bed what more do you need
- Peter (10/5): Cute place - The staff were super friendly, the breakfast was nice, and the rooms were cozy.
- Marie (8/5): Nice cheap hotel - Really good quality for the price. Around 10 minutes walking to get to the famous ruins.
- diego (10/5): Justo - Bacana. Bem localizado. Justo pelo preço pago.
- Karen (10/5): Very nice hotel - Friendly staff, clean rooms, quaint old-world furniture and charm. Loved the original painting collection on hall walls.
Walked to Pompeii ruins from hotel (about 15-20 mins, very easy).
Peccato.prezzo accettabile
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bedroom is not clean, bed not confortable, bathroom's accessory is Old. We hear neighbors spoken in their bedroom.
- Oda (6/5): - Ok hotel for the price. Location is not very nice, but only a short walk from the ruins. Other then that the bathroom was generelly dirty and "Breakfast" was horrible. I forgot something in the room. Tried to send them an email to ask if they still had it two days later. No reply. My currrent hotel tried to contact them to ask if they still had it, but was told that it was lost.
