• Kieran (10/5): Amazing staff in the best location - The hotel was in a great location, great pool, and the staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, helpful and always smiling. The beds weren’t the best comfort wise, but it’s just a place to rest for a few hours so not an important dislike.

• SophiaH01 (10/5): A lovely, quiet stay, just right for our little family. - We've had a wonderful stay here. When we first arrived it was late at night, and we were disappointed with our room, as we thought we had booked an ocean view, the hotel very quickly rectified this for us the next morning and upgraded us to a larger room with a fantastic view over the pool and the ocean, for a small increase in room rate. The hotel was quiet, which we loved, breakfast was more than enough to choose from, our room was clean and comfortable although we didn't spend much time in the room, if we were there we sat on the balcony. Our son loved swimming in the pool. The staff were helpful, warm and courteous. Will be booking again, the next time we visit.

• FishyHD (10/5): Love this place - What a little gem of a hotel. we've been a few times now and can't fault it..the location is perfect..close to the stip but far enough away for peace and the view is to die for. All the staff are lovely and friendly. The hotel is spotless clean..dont expect luxury ..its a little dated..but its perfect 👌breakfast is basic but absolutely decent...we will be back!

• Dave (8/5): Good. Can easily stay there again. - The location was perfect us due to the proximity for the festival. Facilities were good. Bar staff were excellent. Very helpful very accommodating. The traditional Portuguese homemade cake needs to go on the menu. It was lovely. breakfast wasn’t the best for me personally they need a device to keep the hot food warm beans and eggs were always cold. Saying that there was a good selection of food to choose from

To be honest we've been coming for a few years and we love the bacon and scrambled eggs. The new additions are great too This is s fabulous hotel, friendly, clean and in a great position. We wouldn't consider going anywhere else in the area

El desayuno todos los días es lo mismo y el menú es muy básico.

• Tony (7/5): - Location was really good and only a short stroll from a good selection of bars and restaurants. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious and the large balcony overlooking the pool and sea was excellent. Rooms were clean if a little basic. Hotel is looking very dated and in need of a refurb, No extractors in the bathroom meant that the ceiling in the room I stayed in had black mold on the ceiling.

• BobJB (10/5): Delightful break - We had a delightful stay. The hotel location could not be bettered - just a minute's walk from the beach. Staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was plentiful. The swimming pool was immaculately kept and lunch by the pool was delicious. I had a relaxing massage to end my stay. We'll be back!
• cidercyber (8/5): Happy 85 year old - The 5th time I have stayed at the Luar usually in October, my visit this year was very good, was upgraded to a good room with a side sea view, as usual I enjoyed my stay, I usually meet a group of friends as I did this year also had some good times with other guests. Breakfast has improved. Otherwise the hotel and rooms were clean and tidy. The exterior needs some repairs to the floor, I noticed that some repair work was being carried out but this was not a problem with the guests. Overall I was well satisfied with my stay and hope to return next year.
• Wikianswers (8/5): Good hotel for the price - Excellent location! Well maintained rooms although we only had our towels changed once and the bedsheets were not changed at all throughout the week. Appreciate it was end of season but one change of sheets would have sufficed. Bar area was good and the staff across the board were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was limited in choice but stocked well throughout the morning. Pool area could get crowded as not a lot of loungers out given the end of season but there were no longer wars which was reassuring!

• Excursion38697695039 (10/5): Hotel Luar - The Luar is a very good hotel. The rooms are fine, the bar and pool area are super, and the included breakfast was very good too. You are right on the seafront and a couple of minutes stroll to all the bars and restaurants. The hotel is very clean also. I return to Praia da Rocha frequently and the hotel Luar is my first choice,
• kir2 (8/5): Great base - Very well positioned hotel, steps from the beach, and literally out of the gate in garden and left to the first restaurant on the strip. Breakfast at the hotel was good, pastries, toast, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, bacon & beans. Yes its not a full on breakfast, but plenty to make a good start to the morning. The hotel was very clean, room was always spotless. Pool area was clean, although lots of towels claiming sunbeds every morning, but this didnt bother us as we arent ones to lie in the sun! But overall a great hotel and a great base for exploring.
• AmandaPaul47 (8/5): Great little find - This hotel is a perfect base for accessing all Praia da Rocha has to offer. As a three star rating it really is just a base. The pool area was quiet and just enough sunbeds. No loud music. There is a lovely bar serving food and drinks which are very competitively priced and excellent quality. Staff can't do enough for you, they are very attentive. Breakfast was basic but there is enough choice. I am vegetarian and managed to eat well for the 4 nights I was there. All the restaurants we visited in the area served great food. We managed to somehow break the shower, but whilst were were out- shower fixed within an hour, no fuss. Ok so the hotel needs a little refurbishment but there appears plans to do this in the near future. Rooms are basic (they really need to make them darker as the green exit lights are quite bright, however, this would not bother everyone). Little niggle there are not kettles in all rooms but breakfast opens at 7am and I took hot water to my room one night for peppermint tea. However, in terms of value for money, this is an excellent choice if you are going for a short break and really just using it for a base. The beach can be reached by a stairway just outside the hotel. And shops, bars and restaurants are within a stones throw away.

La cama muy incómoda y la almohada de trozos de espuma que se clavaban en la cabeza. El baño olía a desagüe todo el rato. En la piscina las tumbonas estaban todas pasada y rotas. Necesitan invertir dinero en mejorar sus instalaciones porque tampoco es que los precios estén súper rebajados.

• Markus (10/5): - Die Ankunft war weit unter meinen Erwartungen. Ich musste ca. 1 Std. am Flughafen warten, bis ich endlich über einen Umweg ins Hotel gefahren wurde. Der Fahrer war krass. Krasse Aussagen ( ) während der Fahrt... Die Aussenansicht mit den Beschädigugnen an den Balkonen liessen nichts gutes ahnen. Dazu kamm Baulärm direkt an meinem Zimmer. Ich verlangte in Folge eine neues Zimmer auf der anderen Seite des Hotels - was ohne Probleme möglich war. Optimierungspotential aus meiner Sicht. Frühstücksraum: Zum Beispiel: Schöne Poster mit Sujets aus der Umgebung und Meer oder Bilder von Künstlern aus der Umgebung. Auf die weissen Tischtücher & Papierabdeckungen verzichen und das gesparte Geld ins Frühstückbuffet investieren. Ein bis drei z.B. Intex Whirlpool unten oder auf der 5. Etage inkl. kleiner Bar, verbunden mit der grandiosen Aussicht wäre ein Highlight. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und erfühlt jeden Wunsch. Die Lage ist perfekt. Es gibt kein besseres Hotel hier. Über die Strasse und man ist sofort am Traumstrand. Die Nähe zum Zentrum einzigartig. Die Ruhe am Ort perfekt. Der Service an der Reception ist perfekt. Die Sauberkeit im ganzen Hotel perfekt. Der Pool wird jeden Abend mit einem Roboter gereinigt. Der Honda Rasenmäher ist nicht extrem laut. Ich freue mich auf die anstehende Modernisieung und würde sofort hier nochmals Ferien machen. DANKE nochmals dem ganzen Team hier. Es war eine wunderbare Zeit bei Euch!

Boa piscina e bar. Bom ambiente. Não gostei de não ter direito a uma garrafa de água no quarto. Nem gel de banho, apenas uns mini sabonetes básicos na banheira. Sabonete de mãos inexistente também. Pelo preço praticado esperava mais.

• Raquel (6/5): Vieillissant - Très bon petit déjeuner, copieux et apprécié. Prix élevé par rapport à l’état de la chambre : mobilier et salle de bain vieillissants, aucune isolation, et beaucoup de bruit côté rue avec les voitures. Le rapport qualité/prix reste donc décevant.

Poucos canais na tv do quarto, o ducher da banheira velho e jogando água para todos os lados. Outra coisa que achei mal foi na zona da piscina, hóspedes folgados, metem a toalha nas cadeiras para marcar lugar e voltam p o quarto sem usar as cadeiras. Quem vai realmente ficar na piscina nao consegui deitar pq as cadeiras estão vazias, mas com toalhas de outros q nao estão lá.

Vieux bâtiment en mauvais état, climatisation très très très bruyante, literie pas confortable, toilette qui fuit, douche cassée ( réparée a ma demande), mini ecran tv , décoration aussi vieille que le bâtiment, ascenseur très sale et vétuste.
