Guest Reviews
- brandy (4/5): upsetting stay while working - just FYI. There is almost no internet service. could not get text or calls. had to walk outside to order food ( as NOTHING) is nearby nor does it seem safe to walk about. rooms are very worn out (spring thru the mattress and holes in the blanket ). shower &tub was new and bathroom was clean) takes 20 min to get hot. hairdryer broken. lamps with no bulbs. no ice. no breakfast as noted just coffee in room and u have to ask. im not sure why they dont put more effort into this property especially during furniture market. the person at the desk is nice and i suspect its a family business. they really could do better esp the two times of the year they could charge a decent rate.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Terrible - The room was decently clean but the furniture was ripped and disorganized. The room i booked had a king size bed and had a full size fitted sheet on it. Housekeeping had to notice when they made the bed. It just seemed like they didnt care how the place looked. The ceiling tiles were stained and cracked. Definitely would not recommend.
- Latasha (10/5): - It was urine behind plastic trash can bag liner. Yuck.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Affordable, convenient but dated. My room didn’t have a microwave but seen other rooms with one.
- Rosa (2/5): Close this place - My room was nonsmoking but my sheets and pillow cases had cigarette burns in them. The towels had foot prints in them. I clesned the entire room, bout sheets & towels from Walmart. Carpet is filthy. Very Disappointed. I only used the room for sleeping from work
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It probably used to be nice, but now it's old.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nasty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing the sight of the inside of the room made me wanna sleep outside instead, do not taje children here
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was great
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Didn't like the fact that tjw ehole place SMELLS OF SMOKE and it has Extended stay meaning it's like a Shelter
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Office located 50 yards in front of rooms in separate building. Key would not open door had to go back to get key programmed to work twice.
- Austin (2/5): - Place was trash
- Verified traveler (2/5): - ROOM WAS NOT CLEAN BEER BOTTLES LEFT IN ROOM
UPON GETTING TO THE HOTEL AFTER I RESEVED MY CONFIRMATION NUMBER I WAS TOLD THE ROOM WAS ALREADY BOOKED BUT I HAD A CONFIRMATION NUMBER THEN I WAS UPSOLD A ROOM FOR $90 TO ENTER THE ROOM TO FIND IT WAS DIRTY I ASK FOR A REFUND AND LEFT STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Never stay at this location
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the building was locked so you could not get in. room was disgusting so i left. people loitering about. found out it has a reputation for drug area...room was dated. lights did not work, lamp shade missing. linens old.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property should be removed from your site. I would be embarrassed to represent this property. Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever been in in my life. Disgusting. Broken furniture, dirty carpet, light fixtures that didn't work, dirty sheets, God it was awful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not bad just not for me - The stay was ok. I wouldn’t stay here again. My room had no smoke detector, refrigerator was unplugged, and no iron. And also had a funny smell.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Unpleasant experience - Hotel located in a creepy, solitary area. Needs maintenance and an upkeep. There was mildew in the bathroom ceiling and on the shower curtain. There was no soap in the bathroom. Also, when checking the mattresses, looks like there was a bed bug problem in the past. I didn't sleep well at all. Will never stay there again.
- Brian (2/5): - Needs a bulldozer to start over. Very dated and odd layout.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Did not stay....it was terrible..boarded up windows..drug addicts everywhere..
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We did not stay in the disgusting room. The clerk refunded our payment and we went elsewhere.
- Tarchia (2/5): NASTY HOTEL NOT WORTH THE MONEY - The room had an old smell to it. Also roaches was all over the place once you turned the lights off...they was all over my bag and I put it in the trash. Also it wasn’t any wash towels. Bed was broken...NEVER STAY HERE NEVER
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Clean relaxing and comfortable.
- Maria (2/5): Dump - We pulled into the parking lot and proceeded to leave because we felt very unsafe. There were only 3 cars in the lot, one with flat tires, (yes multiple tires) and one with its rear bumper ripped off. There were screens torn and ripped out of the windows both 1st and 2nd floors. There was trash and broken glass all over the parking lot. I couldn’t get my money back, but I absolutely was not going to stay there to see if our truck n trailer would get broken into or vandilized
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No ice matchine working . No vending machine
15 minute to confirm the room is good. No elevator for handicapped.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not a good location
- Maranda (2/5): - The hotel was disgusting. The door wouldn’t lock. Crackheads outside all over the place. Asking for money and rides.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were clean and neat, this was my second time coming
- DeAndrey (10/5): Business stay - Had a breakdown driving my 18 wheeler and had to get a room for the weekend while it was getting repaired
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was pleasant
- 352rickys (2/5): NASTY! - Booked two nights, two rooms, stipulated one had to be downstairs with two beds. Of course they didn’t have that right, ended up stuck in a King/ pull out Hide-a-bed. I was really was a hide-a-metal-torture-rack device. This was worse than a Goodwill store couch. Both rooms were dirty, one was un-made. Hair dryer was gone from its mount, but the bathroom was itself clean. The office is in a separate building in front of the hotel, at least a hundred yards up/down the hill. The next day while we were out, they ‘serviced’ our room by swapping the towels. No beds were made or anything done.
Terrible stains on the carpet, walls, bedspreads, and the whole building smelled horrible. We altered our plans and got out after one disgusting night.
Would NEVER stay there again. Recommend? I just don’t hate anyone that much. Hell no.
- je (2/5): - The property is not well kept. I smelled of smoke when i left.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty and worn in a bad area. Stained carpets, everywhere you look something is broken, dirty and worn furniture.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The water pressure in the room is good. The property is very dated and is in need of updating.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I booked for non-smoking, and obviously someone smoked in that room, and they sprayed with cheap room spray. Couldn't sleep well due to the smell.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The location was good for the High Point Show, but the property is in poor condition
- Verified traveler (10/5): - we loved it nice spacious rooms for the money no problems what so ever will be staying again
- guy (10/5): - Good customer service and clean room. Only thing messed up it wasnt a smoking room. I will stay here again
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The desk clerk neglected to tell me about visitors. I was very upset that the desk clerk called me to say no visitors after 9pm and my guest of 4 people had to leave. I was totally inconvenienced, because I had to leave my room to entertain. And was not given any extended time. Will NEVER stay there again..
- Kevin (6/5): - Property was difficult to get into because of malfunctioning lock. Rooms are spacious, but beds are uncomfortable and everything is pretty dated.
- George (4/5): - Cars was pulling in and out of parking lot look like drug activity people waiting on u to open door so they could get access there’s was nobody to call on for help if needed anything no staff members was at this location at all I would never stay here again
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very dirty place! All staffs are very tough! Stay away from the place!
- Ebony (8/5): - It was a good place stay to stay and would visit again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - needs updated, no elevators, founds cereal under the bed. furniture stained . No wonder it's cheaper then the other hotels. My friend would not stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was a crowd of loud rowdy people in the parking lot. Felt uncomfortable, did not get out of the car and went to a different hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for - It’s ok for the price. It could’ve been cleaner and the bed isn’t the most comfortable but if you need a quick night stay it’s cool
- Kenisha (6/5): - Got a room and it already seem like someone was in it so they changed us rooms. They had nasty stained towels and our key kept getting disconnected
- Shanon (4/5): - Outdated, sketchy. Pictures are not accurate representation
- Verified traveler (6/5): - You get what you pay for. Friendly staff. In rough area but rooms were spacious and clean. A little worn out carpet wise. Only one towel per person. However quiet and overall decent for cheaper rate.
- Curtis (4/5): - I leave out to start and enjoy my day and come back to a room with the same linen and sheets on the bed. Staff states they change sheets every 3 days. WOW! Online the hotel stated free hot breakfast but when I arrived the hotel stated they stopped the free breakfast 2 weeks ago. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life! Thumbs down! 👎 all the way down.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet location, close to shopping, food, staff is outgoing and helpful
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room was dirty. In great need of updates.
- Amanda (6/5): Medioroce - Gave us the wrong room with 2 small beds instead of 1 and the bathroom was small. One light sheet on the bed so it was a little cold in the room. Only upside was the continental breakfast was pretty good.
- K (8/5): - Hotel had no elevator and you had to go to the first floor just for ice.
- Tiffany (6/5): Not great @ all - There was supposed to be a free breakfast and they didn't have it ... the main office is in a separate building in front of the hotel .. bad part of town
- George (8/5): - good stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A be better if i could smoke but love the room an management
- charmwann (2/5): Disgusting! - This place is not worth the one star at any price!
Mold by the window.
Filthy furniture.
The bedspread hasn’t been replaced since the place was built.
Microwave had food left in it from the last guest.
I wouldn’t walk on the carpeting in my bare feet.
The hallway is nice.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Continital breakfast - The continintal breakfast was a couple of pieces of bread for toast there wasn't even any butter or jelly to put on the bead, coffee, that was its-Nothing else- pathetic!
- Michelle (10/5): Very satisfied - Was great friendly bad thing no pets.
- Lattie (10/5): Great Stay!!! - They've become family! Great people! And they'll make sure your stay will be a great one!!!
- Tonia (8/5): Basic but clean - The room was fine. It was clean and comfortable but what I didn’t like was that you had to check in at another building and then walk up a hill to the building that housed the rooms in the rain and snow plus ice. The building that the rooms are in looked like a regular motel without the front desk. It was just weird for I had never seen a motel or stayed at one like that. The staff was very accommodating though and after having such a bad day, that helped a lot. If you’re looking for a clean room close to the interstate then this motel is good. I felt safe there and I was traveling alone and got stuck there bc of the storm. It’s a basic motel and priced right for what you get.
- Victoria (10/5): It was peaceful not to much people contact - It was great. Will be there again. Very nice room and very clean only issue was the coffee pot didn't work but can't blame the hotel for that things stop working sometimes.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Getting what you pay for - We got what we paid for and we weren't expecting much else. A bit dingy, dirty, worn furniture, no breakfast, no elevator. Immediate highway access and very close to Castle McCulloch and that is what we wanted. A bit shady from the outside check in. First room smelled like smoke but they were very prompt to put us in a new, cleaner room. Rooms were large but dated and worn. They did have free wi-fi.
- YVONNE (10/5): Lee and spouse on business - This was my 2nd time staying at this hotel and I was again, not disappointed. The family is kind, security is decent and the place is clean. They greet you very kindly and are anxious to assist you in having the best stay possible. I would and have recommended them to others.
- Joe (8/5): Great VALUE hotel. - This was my THIRD stay at this hotel. Its appearance (from the street) and location are not great, but that doesn't matter to me; what counts (IMHO) is the room amenities and cleanliness-- categories in which this place is FAR better than other, higher-priced hotels in the area. The only snag I hit was that their "continental' breakfast offering (self-serve coffee, tea, toast, etc.) was INACCESSIBLE all three days because nobody was manning the front desk to let me in-- even at 8am. I could have walked back to my room and phoned the Front Desk and maybe gotten in, but by that time (each day) I needed to be on my way and so decided not to hassle with it. if they'd just fix that one problem, I'd give them FIVE STARS for being a great value (not to be confused with a "Traditional" 5-star hotel.....The Waldorf-Astoria it is NOT!
- Jack (8/5): Nice hotel - Over all good experience. Friendly staff. Room quality can be improved by nice furniture as sofa contains stains.
- Benjamin (6/5): Tv sucks - Had to go to the front desk to get a remote they they clam to be in the room which wasn't then the tv didn't was at all
- Crystal (4/5): 2.0 - Not my type a hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): No elevators - The lobby isn't actually in the hotel, but a small house just outside, and it seems like the building also serves as a lobby/office for an adjacent hotel. When I arrived, having already put my card in via Expedia, they insisted on charging me the full room amount and reassured me that I wouldn't be charged through Expedia; while a second charge hasn't shown up, it was an unusual practice and made me spend the night wondering if I was going to have to call Expedia and/or dispute a charge.
I was given a room on the second floor, and entered the hotel building to realize there are no elevators. I was traveling with my two kids, so I had to carry all our luggage up to the second floor via stairs. The hotel in general had a musty smell and a run-down feel, and the room was no better. The carpet was worn and stained in multiple places, and there were stains and marks on the walls (including what looked like lipstick on the door-frame to the bathroom). The beds and pillows were comfortable enough, and the AC worked (though as was typical with many hotel rooms of this age it was quite loud). The hotel was quiet while I was there, and we slept fine. They gave me no hassles on check-out.
- 293kishanp (10/5): Good Rooms and Good Value - The room i stayed it was good everything was there that i expecting in the room like clean bathroom, non-smoking room clean bed-sheets and towels. it was safe and without keys no-one can get in the building and they have cameras on the property. The was price was good too.
- Robert (2/5): Mess in High Point. - We didn't stay. First room they gave us on the first floor was not made up from the last use. Wet towels on the bathroom floor and bed unmade. Didn't look but someone could still have been using it. The second room was on the second floor. When we walked upstairs the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Opened the room and it was even worse. No way we could stay there. The hotel was suppose to be smoke free. We went back and cancelled the reservation and got our money back. The front desk is in a separate building and appears no one manages what happens in the actual hotel. Rooms looked reasonable but two strikes and I am out.
- Theodore (6/5): Quick get away to hide out - My stay was ok not the best but ok. The office was located behind were I was standing. It was not in the same building.
- terryr954 (2/5): SLUM OF A HOTEL - It looks OK in the photo but wait until you step inside! Our room was filthy. It was supposed to have been a non-smoking room. It was so smoky in the room, my daughter who is asthmatic had to go out to the car. One of the bedspreads had a big stain on it, the curtains were filthy and had cigarette holes burned in them. The bathroom counter had cigarette burns all over, and the desk chair had some kind of white, mucous stain dried on it. we didn't even dare to sit down.. The carpets had many variety of stains throughout the room. It was literally disgusting. We got on-line and booked a room at a hotel in Greensboro. We lost a little money on it (the fee for booking it through Expedia) but got most of our money back. The office staff was helpful in this regard and apologetic about the non-smoking room being so bad. We were there to bring our daughter to High Point University and luckily were able to find a hotel in the area that had some rooms left. We would have slept in the car rather than sleep there.
- luz (4/5): Need to be more clean - It would be nicer with better clean room
And more staff
- Traveling thru (2/5): Never again - Check in is in a building across the parking lot from the hotel. There is no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs. The hotel smelled like cigarette smoke, incense and deodorizer. I tried to use the bathroom in the lobby but the door was locked and remained lock the whole time we were there.
There was no staff in the hotel at all.
Towels while laundered had stains on them. Looked like a mechanic wiped his hands on them and they could not bleach out the stains. Breakfast was 2 almost empty containers of cereal. The keycard was unstable. After returning from dinner, we got into the hotel but were not able to get into our room. I had to trek across the parking lot at 10pm in heels to get my key reset. Once we were in our room that night, we did not dare come out again because we could hear people arguing and fighting. I tried to call the front desk but the line was continuously busy. Thank goodness we only booked a night!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Subpar - Check in staff was friendly, room was tidy but had to request removal of dirty clothes from floor of closet. Facility was not at all what I had anticipated based on reviews read.
- Ashlee (4/5): Horrible - The staff is horrible. They have an attitude. They talk to you however they want!
- Stephen (10/5): A good place to stay - The staff is amazing. They offer all they can in all ways. They also offer extended stay room for a good price.
- Genwhiz (4/5): I wouldn't stay again - There are so many odd things about this hotel. We were taking my daughter to HPU and I booked this online having no knowledge of the area. I hoped for something closer to the school, but I'd waited too long to book and the 2 reviews for the property were good so I took a chance. First, let me say that the people who run it (the owners. I believe) were extremely nice. They did try very hard to be friendly and accomodating. Unfortunately, that was the best thing about the hotel. The office is not in the building. You do need a key to get in, but with no desk at all and no hotel employees present, it does not feel very secure. We were on the first floor and we stayed 3 nights. Every day when I checked the windows, they were unlocked. That made me very uncomfortable and I should have reported it to the office, but I would have had to stop at another building and I just didn't. There is an abandoned and boarded up building right in front of the hotel and the area appears to a less than affluent section of High Point. The room weas a bit on the run-down side. Burn marks that they were unable to remove from the bathroom vanity, running toilet, faded bed linens, dust and debris in the corners. The wifi was inconsistent, as well. As I said..I woudn't stay here again.
- medicmomof4 (2/5): HORRID - Hidden behind a burned out hotel, no front desk, had to walk to some remote house to office to check in. After walking uphill to hotel, the entire hotel smells like artificial flowers, towel bar fell off the wall in bathroom, cable tv didn't work, tv remote only changed the channels-won't turn tv on or off (manual button under TV only). No wonder it was so inexpensive. Clearly you get what you pay for...now I know! Actually thought this is where we had stayed last time I brought my son down to school. BIG MISTAKE. Never again.
- W1673CCbrianh (8/5): Agreed! Good Value - Halfway stopover on a road trip. Arrived late, left early. Perfect for this or perhaps a short business trip. Room was spacious, very clean and fresh. Bed pretty good. Inexpensive. Front desk staff friendly. Free parking. Felt safe. Right off the Interstate.
- friendswithdave (8/5): Good Value - Hotel was accommodating when I changed my reservation from two rooms to one. Hotel was a little eerie in that the check-in was in a separate building from the hotel itself. Therefore there was no staff in the building. That said, there were no issues with our stay. Good beds, clean room, good bathroom, no issues. Breakfast not included but we knew that as well.
