Guest Reviews
- Deighton (2/5): Disappointing…. We tried to speak to the owner to explain why we were leaving, but she was not happy with us at all. As - The property is very rundown and I imagine it was great at some point. Everything needs cleaning and painting. The rooms are okay … they were clean but the whole
Place looks a damp because of the location. They need to address this. The bedding felt damp as did our clothes when we hung them up.
- Vital (9/5): - De ligging is werkelijk idyllisch. Geen internet op de kamer
- Uta (10/5): - This is a beautiful 16th century hacienda. It is quite well maintained, but it is obvious that more money should be invested to bring it back to its former glory, especially the bathroom ceilings.
However, for anyone who wants a peaceful and quiet vacation, outside the city but not too far away, this hacienda is an excellent choice.
But, guests must be aware that this facility is in the forest, there are animals, humidity is constantly present - this is a tropical area after all.
The staff is very friendly, they speak mostly only Spanish, but communication is possible with apps. On the other hand, whatever we asked was done immediately.
This is a place to rest your soul from the city crowds and everyday stress! It is wonderful to sit on the porch in the morning, with the discreet voices of animals and enjoy excellent coffee brought to you by smiling staff!
- Justine (9/5): - Jolie hacienda. Chambres confortables. Nous avons été très bien accueilli. Je recommande.
- Katia (10/5): Je recommande ! - Tout était parfait !
L’hacienda est magnifique, séjour reposant garantie ! L’accueil au top ! Je recommande
- thierry (1/5): this is not a hotel. must be removed from Booking! - alles.
No regreso.
- Claudia (9/5): Charming piece of Yucatan history, with warm and welcoming staff. - The atmosphere at this old hacienda was wonderful. It has the feeling of abandoned charm, and old world mystery. The gardens and building and animals to explore was really fun. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and eager to welcome us. It’s a huge property and there is a lot of upkeep to do around the place, so some parts are more modern than others. Understand that this is a bit of a shabby, dilapidated place with a lot of history and the staff are doing their best to keep it alive for posterity. It’s got great charm. The pool area is wonderful. Parking is easy.
The rooms are air conditioned and the bedding is clean, the breakfast is also great! There is no TV in the bedroom, which was fine for us. The staff don’t speak English, but google translate was sufficient. No fridge in the bedroom.
- Daniel (10/5): - Muy lindo y acogedor
- Leah (10/5): Beautiful location and buildings - The location and the actual building Pretty run down in parts
- Eric (10/5): - This was the best stay I have had at one of your listed hotels. Everything was outstanding, the grounds have an incredible history, and the staff were consummate professionals. 10/10
- Sara (8/5): Very good - The hancienda is beautifully located, the cabins are nicely arranged and the breakfast is tasty and there are a lot of options. When we arrived in the room, there were some kind of bugs all over the floor. The staff was not speaking English, but from what we understood it was from some kind of a tree nearby. We were proposed to change the room for a cabin in a different part of the estate for additional price.
- vanessa (10/5): - El desayuno incluido delicioso
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Dmitry (7/5): Good - It is a bit strange hotel. It is an actual hacienda, but obviously not in the best shape. The photos are not the actual ones, old or photoshoped. The facilities need a renovation. I was the only guest on such a big territory and it felt weird. The pool did not work. But the room itself was good, the bed was big and comfy, but no TV. Because of the bad state of facilities, there is not much sense to stay here. You will not get "hacienda experience". Also i think for this money there are better options in Valladolid.
- Julien (4/5): Très vieillissant ! - Très vieillissant. Personnel souriant. Chambre basique. Ambiance glauque.
- Rosemary (10/5): The staff were amazing, and we would definitely stay here again. - It felt like a retreat, beautiful, calming surroundings.
- Kinney (10/5): Exceptional -
- B. (5/5): Atmospheric Setting with Too Many Challenges - Interesting historical setting, with real atmosphere. Manager was exceptionally friendly. Too many things didn’t quite work: plumbing issues, bungalow door lock broke, WiFi did not work. Breakfast was nice one day and poor the next. Not good enough considering the significant cost of the stay.
- J (8/5): Very good -
- Dona (1/5): DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL - Nothing!!!! THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN!!!!!!The hotel is not even close to that what is shown on photos! The photos are either really old or photoshoped!! The hotel is in really bad condition and not maintained. The facade is falling apart. The rooms have a really bed smell and are full of bugs and spiders. The windows are not fully sealed and all the bugs are coming in the room. In addition they had a problem with cockroaches, they were everywhere. The hotel is quite far from the city, we were the only guests and felt a bit scared there. For sure we couldnt spend 4 nights there so we wanted a refund or at least partial refund. The receptionist was very kind, telling us that she understands us and that situation with bugs was really bad at that moment, however that we have to talk to Booking as the payment was made through them. We didnt stay at the hotel, booked another hotel, stayed in another hotel and contacted Booking in the meantime. They said that they cannot refund the money as the hotel does not want to cooperate. We came back to the Hacienda with this information and the receptionist said that she will talk to owner and that they will answer to our massages and return us money.. Of course the never did!! It was the biggest scam in Mexico and the worst experience with hotel on Booking in my life. I think Booking should take care that such hotels are not on their website. The hotel literally stole 400 eur from us!!
- Unai (10/5): - The breakfast was absolutely delicious and home made. Beautiful hacienda
- Marcela (1/5): no stay at all. paid for it and got no refund. - nothing! it was a horrible experience. I had reserved
it for my birthday. when we got there, the facilities were dirty and the whole place looked abandoned. we asked them to cancel our reservation but they declined. we had to pay for the whole stay and look for a new hotel. everything.
- Karen (10/5): For the adventurous - What a lovely place. A 17th century hacienda waiting to invite adventuresome guests. While only 8 km outside bustling Valladolid, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. We were the only guests the three nites we were there which is a shame because it really is a lovely spot and all the staff is there to make your visit comfortable. We loved it
- Robert (10/5): - A wonderful place.
- scott (10/5): - Great property and food
- Fred (10/5): - It was a Mex. Historical 1500 s Hacienda. Nice, quiet, detailed, peaceful and simple but exqusite. Stayed for 1 night and spent 2! 5min from beautiful Valladolid. Took a 1 hour nap next to pool. WE WILL COME AGAIN!
Wild turkeys in front lawn and such a nice experience. Dont miss this place!! love this peace and quiet in the woods 5 star.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful true hacienda feeling, nice room in the villa, excellent pool area, great, friendly and helpful staff, very nice breakfast, lots of things to do in the area, we liked it a lot
- Christopher (9/5): Real hospitality in a real location - This is a charming plantation house from about 1900 with pretty grounds and breezy verandas. Guest accommodations are little villas out in the garden and are immaculate. Superb breakfast. Staff is genuinely delighted to have you. You have to like quiet and isolated. An extremely cute village is 3k away, but it has only one restaurant that's not always open. Valladolid is 15 minutes' drive. Try to arrive before dark (although we didn't, and were fine).
- João (6/5): Quiet and beautiful but needs some renovations - A beautiful and quiet Hacienda really close to Valladolid. The pictures look far better than the hotel itself which is not that well preserved.
- Viola (7/5): Good - the building is amazing, but should be better preserved too much humidity in the room :( but fortunately they changed the sheets
- Pau (8/5): Good value for money hacienda - Nice hacienda close to Valladolid. Nice pool and super quiet. We slept very well, it was super relaxing. I would say some parts of the hacienda needs and upgrade, toilets are old, but I guess if they upgrade price would be different then
- Federica (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful historic Hacienda, nestled amongst lush landscaping and century old trees. Very private, quiet, with slate bottomed swimming pool, and restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Easy 10 minute drive into heart of Valladolid from west side. Great staff. Perfect for couples weekend or group getaway. Chapel on premises. Garden & courtyard facing rooms with outdoor space, or private villas with porch’s.
- Ximena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grabe (8/5): Very good - It's like I the djungle... .... and that meant a lot of insects everywhere
- Robert (9/5): Great place to stay when visiting Chichen Itza and the cenotes in the area! - The longaniza sausage breakfast was excellent. Very peaceful place to stay. Some small animals walking around. Lots of birds. Pool looked nice but was busy doing other things. Great location. Had issues with rental car and the staff was very helpful and refused my tip for their help. They can increase water pressure upon request. Air Conditioning in room works good. Mosquitoes but they are all over this part of Mexico not just here. They do a good job keeping them out of room. Need to deal with them when we leave room. Bring repellant.
- Vanessa (8/5): Very good -
- Dominika (9/5): súper recomendado - beautiful property a short drive from the town. quiet and peaceful. the staff was very attentive shower pressure
- Rodrigue (9/5): Superb -
- Robinson (6/5): It was my 40th birthday and I was a little disappointed. - It’s nice and quiet. There were a few things broken in our room. The shower and the door handle. Also the electricity broke my hair straightener and wasn’t charging our phones properly. For the price there are basic things that need to be checked and fixed.
- Fabio (8/5): Very good - The property in general: very green and with a lot of plant varieties
The pool is super nice ! Doors don’t close properly from the inside
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Calm, clean and friendly staff
- Martin (8/5): Nice for a quiet stay in nature - Nice rooms in small houses
Big room size, bathroom, bed are good
Nice area to hang out food was ok, but nothing special
- Stephanie (7/5): Lovely Hacienda, just 15min drive outside Valladolid, nice rooms and lovely pool - Great location, a little run down but still beautiful accommodation, beautiful surroundings and lovely pool. We asked for two rooms next to each other and whilst they accommodated us in this wish we were downgraded in the room without telling us. But they easily found an alternative solution and the final rooms we got were much more spacious, beautiful and as initially booked. Would come again if wanted to spend 1-2 nights outside of Valladolid to experience a Hacienda. A little more information about the history of the Hacienda would have been lovely
- Daryl (9/5): Great hacienda experience - close to amazing cenotes - unique and great location - close to valladolid and cenotes
- Marvin (9/5): Superb -
- Dmitry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yannick (9/5): A cozy hacienda in a remote location. - Really nice rooms. Pool area is cozy. For this price, nothing.
- Amelia (10/5): Beautiful, historic and charming hacienda - The hotel is enchanting - set in a tranquil location, surrounded by birdsong with a gorgeous pool and outdoor spaces shaded by trees. Loved the stunning historic buildings, excellent, clean rooms and modern facilities. The staff went out of their way to help us celebrate my daughter’s 10th birthday while we were there, including providing a cake and some charming decorations, which she was absolutely delighted with. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.
- Serrano (10/5): Exceptional - everything, the pool, the staff, the whole property
- Jacob (8/5): Impressive place, mosquitoes kept us awake - If you are looking for a stay outside the city, location was good and impressive. lots of space, rural atmosphere. Maintenance was lousy. Toilet seat disconnected from base, bad plumbing and low water pressure. Mosquitoes kept us awake all night, the establishment must place mosquito repellents at each room.
- Aleksander (5/5): Rundown Hacienda with huge potential to become Valladolid’s ultimate gem - Quiet and peaceful. Close to nature. Historical and authentic architecture. Very large room. Parking. Good base for Chichen Itza and Valladolid. Villas were clean. Appreciated the mosquito nets on all windows. AC and fans was a plus. Excellent WIFI. Lovely chapel. Nice paths to walk or run around the Hacienda. Friendly personell No instructions for the Safe in the Villa.
The food was mediocre at best.
The whole place looks run down and poorly maintained. Huge potential to make this place amazing and high-end for people wanting to retreat from the hot streets of Valladolid. The property is spacious and has huge potential. Potential of several revenue streams here of they update the place (Spa, Museum, Hotel, local artisian stall, petting zoo, local flora and fauna presentation, bar, high-end restaurant if they hire a proper chef, star observatory). Almost want to buy the place to fix it up… Feel sad for the horse and peacocks that are stuck inside tiny enclosures. Would rather have them roam on the park…
- Kenan (9/5): Superb -
- Ellen (8/5): Peaceful and quiet stay in an elegant piece of history. We felt well cared for. - The location was great as we loved being outside of Valladolid but not too far and close enough to Chichen Itza without the crowds. We loved the peace and quiet.
I loved the staff. They all worked hard to make our stay pleasant. Elena, Daniella, Luis, Imella and others. Even the gentleman who swept the public areas after a big s storm was lovely.
The bed was very comfortable and we slept well in our rooms. The peacocks were a bit intrusive at night along with the guinea hens. I didn't mind them too much but my husband was not a fan. I felt like I was staying on a farm. I liked the animals.
- Ingrid (9/5): Florabunda! - Very helpful office staff. Quiet location with lovely flowering trees.
Very comfortable rooms.
Definitely a place to remember! Thank you for your hospitality. We enjoyed the local breakfast it was very nice but could have been a bit more varied if you stay several days. We missed a small minibar and a chair in the room.
- Rafael (9/5): Superb -
- Jeana (10/5): special local place to stay - very unique . and exceptionally well kept
- Menne (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeremy (8/5): a lovely tradition Hacienda, beautiful and authentic. - beautiful traditional Hacienda just a short distance from Chichen Itza, poor wifi
- Philippe (9/5): excellent - frontdesk manager very kind and professional
hacienda is very nice the restaurant for the dinner doesn't have a lot of choice
- Robert (10/5): - Beautiful place. Very tranquil.
- Gayleen (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect.
- Leif (10/5): Exceptional - What a nice place! We had such a great time. The pool is great and there is strong wifi at every area. The personal is very friendly.
- Katie (8/5): Very good - Very peaceful and the pool area was fantastic It didn’t look as good as the pictures, as they seem old and were likely taken when it was newly renovated. Also because it’s on a working farm with animals there were some bugs getting into the room. Finally the WiFi didn’t work well when in the bedrooms
- Lucia (10/5): Exceptional - I don't understand anyone's concerns about this place. It's a beautiful 500 year old hacienda, obviously there are tiny things. But the rooms are renovated, everything works well, the pool is clean and the birds are singing all day and night. It's a lovely place to stay at! We cannot think of anything.
- Min (10/5): - super friendly
- Igor (9/5): Charming - this place has its own charm of an old hacienda converted into hotel
beautiful and peaceful park on the property all good - it is adequate to 3*** rating (for the rooms)
- Eva (1/5): very little flexibility with personal health emergency -
- Sandrine (8/5): Very good - there was a humidity issue in the room we booked but the staff immediately agreed to change and upgraded us to a villa. really appreciated! thanks
- Anonymous (10/5): excellent and highly recommended for people willing to stay in an authentic and quiet hacienda - the property is incredible. Rich in history, managed by a fantastic and friendly team. premises were spotless. quiet and relaxing with excellent amenities. wifi was a bit weak at time in the room and the shower water temperature a bit difficult to control. but these were minor issues as compared to all the good things about that place.
- Beike (9/5): comfortable and peaceful - it is a historical Hacienda and we liked that it wasn’t shiny and fancy; it offered all the comfort including great beds, a nice breakfast, and great location to Valladolid, multiple cenotes and Chitchen Itza. We did not use the pool but looked great. It is nice to walk the grounds of the hacienda and the wood surrounding it. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
- Edward (8/5): Very good - Beautiful old Hacienda, great place from which tk explore different cenotes around Valladolid and Chichén Itzá. Wonderful staff. My two points would be: it’s quite isolated and the restaurant is fairly basic (mainly re-microwaved not fresh food, plus the place hasn’t been modernised in a while. Could be awesome with a bit of cash splashed on it
