Guest Reviews
- Robert (6/5): - Good for a day or two. Helpful manager. Location convenient off rt 20.
- Keith (8/5): - Convenient location, affordable
- KEVIN (2/5): - A dump
- Glenda (8/5): - Room 106 - needs a new shower curtain
The sink drain needs to be cleaned out. It smells terrible when someone is down close washing their face.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Stayed here for a few days for a work trip. Its a motel, but served the purpose well. Walkable to the downtown area for food. I felt safe walking alone at night.
- Marcus (10/5): - This is a wonderful place to stay at! It's quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms are lovely.
- brad (8/5): - It was nicely placed in town and made walking to places easy
- Daniel (2/5): - NASTY. Many areas in bathroom were covered in mold. Run down is an understatement. In retrospect I would not have even taken the trip if I knew the conditions were this bad but the pictures are not an accurate representation of the property or rooms. Bed spread stained. Don’t do it!
- Gary (4/5): - Overall maintenance was shoddy. Paint slopped around, really old and marred furniture, dirty parking lot.
- Marc (4/5): Clean and inexpensive, very dated - Clean and inexpensive, but that's about all. Very dated and somewhat run down, needs a complete overhaul.
- Jason (6/5): - A little beat up for the price, but fine for a night.
- Tammy (10/5): Family friendly - Great family people and very friendly
- Jeanne (8/5): Clean - Room was clean. Picture not accurate as place is very run down. For the price, it met my needs
- Mark (6/5): - Very old building with old equipment, heating, air-conditioning and furniture
- Lindsay (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay here, it is so close to everything, clean and quiet.
- chris (6/5): - basic accomodations
- Clare (8/5): - You get what you pay for - bathroom is rebuilt but some finishes are neglected such as broken light switch cover. Flap on toilet was compromised, so toilet leaked. Staff was informed. Overall good deal for the $. Good location - can walk to great restaurants and EV charging.
- John (6/5): - Great location and reasonable.
- Emily (6/5): - The guy working was very nice and helpful!
- Gilbert (8/5): You go cheap and..... - Old toilet. Strange shower. No frills room
- Matthew (8/5): - It's an older hotel. The room was renovated fairly recently. It was clean and comfortable. The street noise was a little much at night, but that's not the hotel's fault.
Good location. Could walk to Safeway, the downtown festivities on Friday night and the attractions on the UW campus.
- Shintaro (4/5): - I like the service. family own, nice people.
The place is very old. key doors, laud airconditioning,
- Marcia (2/5): - When we pulled into the parking lot, we were hesitant to check in, but since we had a reservation, we did check in. The guy who checked us in gave us warnings about not smoking in the room, so we were shocked by the overwhelming smoke smell when we walked into the room. My husband, who has allergies, immediately reacted to the smell. We returned to the office and checked out. The neighborhood also looked unsafe. I will do more research next time.
- Citygogetter (8/5): Great location for exploring the wonderful town of Laramie - Good budget option for staying in Laramie. Good size room with fridge, coffee pot etc. rooms could do with an upgrade but bedding, towels etc clean, comfy bed. Parking outside your room, nice pretty area outside to sit. Great location for short stroll into the pretty town of Laramie which is so friendly we chatted to so many locals. The towns historic buildings are worth exploring and also all the wonderful murals painted everywhere. The historic railway museum and huge old steam train and snow plough are worth a stroll around. Great eateries and shops.
- jacksond726 (10/5): Best value & extremely Clean - Walking distance to the downtown restaurants & bars, this is a no frills, great night's rest. No breakfast or coffee in the tiny lobby, but plenty of parking & well lit property. 2 story with all rooms entered from outside doors. The second you step in your room you will smell clean, fresh air with the main room spotless, great bed & linen... 3 pillows! Bathroom is clearer with new ceramic tiles on floor & shower. Shower has glass door with the shower head mounted on the ceiling. All new fixtures with a soft but adequate shower water... Able room in the shower to adjust temperature without standing in the water spray. Microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator with a separate freezer section door. Very secure deadbolt & quiet. You can spend $150 at other hotels in town, but you'll find no cleaner, great location in town for sleeping.
- John (2/5): - We accidentally double booked, the person at the desk said she canceled the second booking, however, she didn’t and they charged me for both bookings. I am $ not satisfied.
- Cody (6/5): - Man was nice at front desk. Room was clean but very dark. Construction going on and noisy.
- Lynnette (4/5): - It has fallen into disrepair. What few things that have been done are sloppy. Stained bedspread, bed skirt not properly made. No extra toilet paper in room, cold shower. Electric plugs not working in bathroom, stained bathmats. No instructions to work t.v. Heat to the room minimal. Not the friendliest bloke manning the counter.
- Yarek (10/5): - Basic, but well-maintained and convenient. The staff at budget in was great, taking care of check in and housekeeping in a friendly and efficient manner. It is located in the main retail district, so restaurants and shops are all conveniently located to the hotel.
- Dorothy (8/5): - Older motel, but it was clean and good value for the money.
- Mitchell (10/5): - The service was simple and the staff was pleasant. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
- Julie (8/5): - Personal was friendly and room was clean, outside loos run down but I really don’t care what a building looks like as long as my room is clean, personal friendly and helpful, which they were. Would stay again
- Dorothy (8/5): - It was great for the price
- William (6/5): - Not what it is cracked up to be, its very much a run down hotel, portable a/c units piped out the windows they wont close. Bed was well beyond worn out. I wont be staying again
- Robert (6/5): Laramie, WY - An older property, some updates have occurred. However,
the air conditioning is insufficient, television service is poor. Found a trash can in the bathroom with trash from previous guest, and found a washcloth hanging on the shower rod. So, poor attention to cleaning details.
- Diana (4/5): - Bathroom cabinet had toothpaste smeared all over the front of it, carpet stained, lamp shades smelled of smoke.
- meredith (6/5): - A little rundown from outside, the room was very clean with comfy clean bed, clean bathroom with great towels. Not fancy but a good nights sleep.
- Linda (4/5): - Staff was gkeepood
needed up
- Sharon (2/5): - The hotel needs major up keep!!! The television didn’t work. There was a strange buzzing sound in the room. Could not figure out where it came from. Finally left.
- Kyle (10/5): - I really enjoyed the staff and their ability to offer assistance with all of the question that I had about the surrounding area. The service was prompt and very handy.
- G2425LRandrewj (2/5): Poor Management - I was given false information by the workers that resulted in having stuff stolen out of my truck while I slept. When I tried to contact management, they were unable to get ahold of him and they never contacted me back. The fact that it wasn't like the pictures is one thing, but the room was lacking essentials (eg. Toilet paper) and the customer service was not good at all.
- O761DTheidih (2/5): Not What It Looks - The reviews and pictures make it look better than it is. For the price, I expected more. Room and grounds were run down. The pictures of the fenced dog area were very misleading. There was no grass and half the plexi-glass was missing (you couldn't let your dog off leash - they'd jump over it and out to the busy road). The mattresses were very broken/awful. Security door lock was broken. Would not recommend!
- Rebecca (8/5): Decor just okay, but the room was clean. - The decor is not so great, but the staff are friendly, and the location is good. The bed was comfy, and the pillows were soft, and plentiful. The room was clean, and there is no smoking in the hotel, so no stale smoke smell, which was good. We had to ask for shampoo and soap, but once I did, they were very generous with supplying our needs.
- timothy (10/5): Cross country traveler - Room was extremely clean and the customer service was great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No big things to complain about.
- laurencef693 (8/5): Hidden Gem, Perfect Locale. - This place is a total hidden gem. Easy walking distance (2-3 blocks) to restaurants and bars. Affordable, recently and nicely remodeled, clean, quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Do yourself a favor and forget the brands out by the highway! THIS is the good spot!!
I was here for five nights just relaxing during an extended road trip and I couldn’t be more delighted. Two tiny complaints: 1) my room didn’t have a desk to work at or a chair to sit in—think high top seating at a bar. Looks great with the remodeled decor but uncomfortable for long periods at the laptop and 2) it’s time to replace the mattress. Mine was old and very spongy to sleep on. The prosperous very quiet so sleep was no issue but a newer mattress would’ve been even better.
I can’t rave enough about the location! EVERYTHING Laramie has to offer is right here. Restaurants, bars, grocery, gas is all RIGHT HERE. You simply cannot improve on this location in town. And wait til you see how they replaced the pool!! Truly a fantastic value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect for motel camping. Location was great--we could walk everywhere!
- John (8/5): - Overall out stay was fine. The sheets appeared clean but there were old stains on them that my wife was a little skeeved about. The mattress also needs replacing, caves in the middle so you cant help but roll into it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cheapest easy to find. Older needs at bit more updates.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs work. - Bed bad slope to middle.
Shower sparse drops,
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room wasn’t available when I got there. How ever the disk clerk found me a place at another motel that was real nice.
- Daniel (8/5): Functional, not luxurious - It's cheap, functional, and well located. Had bottomless hot water (great for the -35F wind chill outside) and decent free WiFi. Bottom of shower curtain was absolutely caked in a layer of mold. Heat struggled to keep the room ~60 at night in the winter storm weather, blankets on bed were extremely thin. No noise issues, ample parking.
Hardly romantic, but for walking distance to downtown Laramie at an affordable cost and hot showers in the winter, it serves it's function quite well.
- TS1000 (8/5): NIce stay - I was drawn by the retro architecture. (I wish the rooms were midcentury modern, too, but alas...) Nonetheless, the staff was great, and the room was clean as a whistle. I had been camping and hiking the previous few days, so all I wanted was a shower and a comfy bed (which I got). I also appreciated amenities like a mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. It was a comfortable stay at a reasonable price.
- rosalieg603 (10/5): we stayed at the Travel Inn on our way to Sturgis 2020 and on the way home also - We really liked the Travel Inn. The prices are great, the rooms are nice are the people are honest, I left my cell phone in the room and they are going to mail it back to me. It's good to know there are still honest people out there. would recommend this motel. it came with lots of conveniences like free wifi, and satellite t.v.Dennis and Rosalie Pace. stayed there Aug 13th and Aug 17 on our way to Sturgis
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing stay - Great tidy place near center of Laramie.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel was overpriced. Smelly. Dirty. Do not recommend.
- Gina (2/5): Needs condemned - Rooms were filthy and cold. Heater smells of old bacon. Bathroom walls dropped dirt when steamy. Bigs stuck to the bathroom ceiling. Windows drafty. Security latch was broken on the door. Drawer handles were busted and sitting in the drawers with the screws. Very poor lighting. Would have explained to the clerk that this is a $40/night hotel, not their going rate, but they didn’t ask and didn’t care.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great little motel in Laramie. We arrived very late after a day of driving. Rang the bell and someone came right out to help us. Extremely reasonably priced, clean, a little vintage but not a turn off at all. Really appreciated our night of rest!
- Jordan (10/5): - Good. Clean. Don’t let the outside fool you. It’s a wonderful place, owner was awesome.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was clean the road noise was terrible. the windows are old single pane and so the traffic noise was ridiculously loud. To get hot water you have to let the water run for many minutes. The bed was okay but the pillows were horrible. A rolled up blanket would have been better.
- Fowler (8/5): - This is a small "Mom and Pop" facility that was probably built in the 50's or 60's, but has been well maintained. No, it's not like staying in a 4 or 5-star facility, but it is clean and well-kept. The manager (owner?) was extremely friendly and helpful whenever we needed. I would definitely stay there again given the price is less than half what some of the nationally-branded hotels charge.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bad wifi - The WIFI is very bad. An employee told us the system had not been upgraded in 10 years, and he had previously told the owner people were complaining
- Paige (8/5): Clean and comfy, great staff!! - Hotel is very clean, and very comfortable! Staff is super helpful. Hope the continued upgrades keep this place around for a long time to come. It’s in a perfect place to get around the town. Everything is within walking distance!! Thanks for having me
- Essexoldgirl (8/5): FINE FOR THE MONEY - We stayed for 2 nights. It is better than it looks on the outside, I was very clean with comfortable beds, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave, TV with lots of channels. Check in was quick and the gentleman was very friendly and helpful, we did have a problem with the toilet not flushing properly but it was sorted and that was the only thing that was a problem. For the price l would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older Hotel in fairly good condition. Many new improvements I should say. That being said, window air-conditioning system was loud and not very effective. The people were great. The room was nice and clean. With the pricing it was a good deal to us.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Needs lots of work.. the police were in the parking lot for 45 mins with lights on. The bed was comfortable . The place lacks security
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quiet location but a little cheap. Sort of like a Motel 6.
- 56Betty56 (8/5): Good stay - We could park in front of our room we like that. Friendly service, clean room with comfortable beds, coffee pot, frig. and microwave. Nice TV with lots of channels. Nice bathroom. Nicer on inside than outside. We would stay again if in the area.
- chevygirl2003 (10/5): Phenomenal hotel, incredibly helpful staff, wouldn't stay anywhere else! - We ran into an issue with the booking we had done through a third party and the owner went way above and beyond to help us out. The rooms were large, clean and recently updated. Beds were comfortable and the price was great! I will absolutely stay again next time we are in town!!
- Rutrowe (4/5): - Old and outdated. Exterior of hotel is not very appealing. I Would not stay there again. I got what I paid for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is really run down but the bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. We had some laughs about the nonexistent pool and the no swimming sign. Met some drunk kid in the lobby but he was a happy drunk. It’s an adventure in the town so don’t have expectations. It’s a college town
- AntonioCavallo72 (8/5): Very Pleasant Place - Travel Inn doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you're in your room everything is good. Comfortable beds, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and microwave, and decent TV with lots of channels. The air conditioner is one of those little portable ones, but it's cooling the room just fine. Check in was quick and the gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Immediately next door there is a chain taco place (Qdoba) and a bagel place, so eating without driving is easy.
- GunnHa (8/5): Happy little place - Spent two nights here on a road trip through Wyoming , wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised , the room was clean and bright , with net curtains for a change , most motels only have black out blinds so there's no privacy if you want light. The man on reception was very friendly ,informative and helpful. The motel only being a spot from downtown bars and restaurants was very conveniently located . I would certainly use here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly manager. I asked about nearby restaura ts and he was not any help.
- Danielle (8/5): - I liked the quality of the hotel overall. The staff was nice and the room had lovely extras like a microwave and mini fridge along with an extra air conditioner unit. I wasn’t crazy about the shower and the way it was set up. Also our deadbolt didn’t lock. It didn’t seem to be an issue but I do like the extra security of a functioning deadbolt especially when I am leaving stuff in the room. Other than that everything else was great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They dont offer breakfast. Very outdated. Could hear what people were talking about in next room.
Staff was very friendly. Cute BBQ area in front for dogs. Walking distance to grocery store.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Manager came down at 1am to let us in. Very nice and polite. Rooms are very clean. Looks like they are updating the place. Feels at home
- kip (4/5): Stay here if you can get past the outside appearan - If you can get past the run down condition of the outside of the building and it’s grounds the place is fine. If not, go elsewhere. The room itself was comfortable. Very comfortable mattress. It felt like memory foam.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The outside looks kind of run down but you walk into your room and it's a totally different world! Everything looks really nice inside! Does get really cold because you have to warm the room when you get there and the fridge was turned off so you have to turn it on.
I think if the rooms are booked that someone should go in and turn on the fridge and heater/AC in preparation for arrival because it does take about a whole day for the fridge to get cold. And when it's cold in Wyoming it is FRIGID. So, warming up the room takes some time. Good location, though. Downtown and next to everything.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good downtown location, walking distance to good restaurants and bars, close access to Snowy Range Rd.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I just need more blankets in the rooms little chilly but other than that great
- Steve (10/5): - very comfortable bed. Owner was very helpful and friendly.
- Charla (8/5): - The exterior cooled us. At first we almost turned around and went somewhere else, but once talking to the manager he was nice and thought, what the heck. We opened the room door and besides some ceiling/water damage the room was cleaned, bed was comfortable and quiet through out the night, until daylight.
- CasperMedic (6/5): - Checking in was uneventful but the property is old and could use some much needed cleaning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It didn't look like much from the outside, but it was nice and comfortable inside. It's an older facility, but it seems like they have done some work recently. We had a little trouble with the heating and cooling but basically got it sorted out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was excellent, on the ball with everything. Rooms were nice and remodeled. Only issue was could hear everything the neighbors were doing through the vents and door, neighbors were smoking weed in their room and the smell came right through the vents into our room.
- orngjuce (8/5): Comfortable stay - This was a great budget and pet friendly place to stay while visiting UW. Clean exterior and rooms with newer fixtures and appliances. The bathrooms were a little dated and showed there age but certainly not a deal breaker. Also, great spot for the dogs outside. Friendly and accommodating staff. Would recommend and stay again.
- Stephanie (10/5): - It’s a simple place, but I had a recently remodeled room. Everything was clean and sufficient for my needs. The owner was very friendly and helpful!
- BC (8/5): - The bed was very comfortable!! The outside of the building you could tell is old but the inside is remodeled and was great! Best bed ever at a hotel!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff. Good price. Convenient place to stay. Amenities are what you would expect for the price.
- sancajo (8/5): Exactly right - This is a basic motel with the most comfortable beds! The staff is very kind and helpful. There is a little yard-like space to walk your dog in, which is helpful, as it is mostly city right around the motel. It is easy to walk a few blocks to many restaurants and shops. I highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was good.. Staff was friendly and the room was clean
- Hassell (8/5): - We were in Laramie on a Saturday for a football game and didn't want to pay the surge price for a name brand hotel so we decided to take a chance and stay at the Travel Inn. Pleasantly surprised! Super clean and comfortable. Nice staff and close to everything in the town.
- Tracy (8/5): Clean but basic motel - A basic motel but central to town. Good parking. Receptionist was really helpful and kind. Massive bed, room was clean. Had a fridge and coffee maker. Bit dated, but for the price...we were more than happy
- John (2/5): - From the pictures posted it was Not what we were expecting. Disappointed.
- Judy (6/5): Clean and Affordabke - It is hard to not give this Hotel a decent rating because although the exterior surroundings are less than perfect, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. For the price it was a good stop over for a one night stay in Laramie.
- Doc (10/5): - Nice roadside motel, clean, quaint, friendly young owner. Best deal in town. Would definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is an older hotel that looks like a blast from the past on the outside and still uses old fashioned doors with a key. Travelers should know this hotel was newly remodeled and the room I stayed in was excellent. It was clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. It has a restaurant next door and is within walking distance of downtown Laramie WY. This Hotel was excellent for the price!
- 675peggyd (6/5): Close to downtown - Motel is about what you would expect for the price you're paying. It was clean. Reasonably comfortable. Thin walls. You hear all outside noise. We stayed 2 nights. Sunday was actually quiet. Monday was not. People talked outside the rooms. TV/DVD's from within rooms came thru the walls. Decent coffee in the rooms. It took a bit to cool down the rooms with AC, but it did happen. And nights are cool. Noise ended around midnight or so, just we go to bed early, being on EST. Easy walk to food, sights of Laramie.
- Peggy (6/5): - The room was large enough and clean. Shower was good. Internet worked. Coffee in room was good. Road noise is present, though does decline as the evening goes on. We were here 2 nights. The first night was quiet (Sun). The next, noise was due to room neighbors. Walls are thin. Heard tv's, dvd's, voices outside, vehicles in parking lots, etc. Although everyone settled down by midnight or so, this is late for us from the east. The price for the room was quite reasonable, and overall I'd give the motel 3.5 stars. .
