Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Definitely the worst hotel I've ever stayed in - Hotel is very far from anything, you can't just walk, even if you want to walk through slums, because everything else is on the other side of the river connected by two cars-only bridges. You have to get a rickshaw for 300-500rupees one-way.Take that into consideration when thinking about saving $30 off downtown located hotel.
When I arrived for a checkin they didn't have my hotels.com reservations. Ok, they've asked me to send vouchers via email, and I did that. Despite the fact, that I had booked and paid for Executive room with kitchen and city view, they gave me a double with stone wall view, two rooms away from the restaurant and conference hall aka "party place". Walls are sliver thin. So every day I'd wake up at 7am, because people would start coming for breakfast blabbing on their way, and go asleep at 1am when people finally stop partying (they rent "party place" for non-guest parties).
Mentioned all that to staff to no avail.
The room doesn't have any heaters, so when it's 5C outside, it's like 15C inside. No hot water either, only mildly tepid - I'd say at most 20C. For the first day I had no toilet paper.
In-room WiFi at best 1mbps, when standing near the door, when it works at all.
Specifically asked the night previous to long-awaited checkout for a taxi at 7am next morning, only to be said at 7am that all taxis are booked, get a rickshaw.
- Anurag (6/5): Decent hotel, disappoints on random things - Checked into three rooms with my family. Checkin was quick. Rooms are not as luxurious as portrayed in pics.
Good stuff:
- staff is helpful
- there's free wifi
- food at the restaurant is decent
Bad stuff:
- staff can be amateurish at times
- dishes at kitchen are not cleaned well
- Verified traveler (2/5): very bad - Its a third class hotel....will never recommend it to anybody.
- Mahssa (2/5): Major disappointment - Description on hotels.com is straight up a falsification from the management.as an example the hotel claims online to be 4 stars but in real life they say 3.
No non-smoking rooms despite claiming so.
Sheets were not changed in the rooms. There were blood on the sheets. There were hair in the beds. One room also had hair on the soap and on the floor in the shower. None of the mirrors were cleaned. We were shuffled around for 1 hour in between rooms until we had it and shouted at the manager to upgrade us. He finally did. Although the sheets were used we did not have energy in complaining anymore also in the upgraded room the toilet was dirty. The response from the manager was to say sorry no staff due to major holiday (Diwali). Hot water in the shower only mornings without informing us. If you as we wanted to visit Taj early forget about breakfast and shower before the visit.
The service in the restaurant was poor. The food was expensive but nothing to write home about.
This is to management issues. Sorry to see as it is a great hotel if handled right.
Will be run down quickly if nothing is done.
The Taj Mahal visit was amazing. Go there and stay somewhere else.
We live in India and this is the biggest let down on our expectations.
- Rishi suri (2/5): Worst experience ever!! - It was my first experience with expedia and hotel madhushrie. Both were not encouraging. Hotel room snaps shown on expedia and hotel website were fake. Hotel room was ok hwever it did not have any facility or service matching any 3star property. Food was worst i ever cud expect. electricity supply kept on intrupped repeatedly and once i really had to ask reception to turn generator on which they did not do till 10 Mins..
breakfast was included in package but hotel staff denied when i asked them fr breakfast at 11am saying that we only serve breakfast till 10 Am and no courtsey at all, i thought as if i was staying in a guest house rather than 3 Star hotel.
overall bad experience not recommended at all.
