Guest Reviews
- Rania (7/5): - Large room Problem with sewage and there was an odor that never went away.
- emile (9/5): -
- Mariatu (2/5): -
- Julie (7/5): Nice people and clean room - The bed and sheets were cleaned and the bathroom works. Good people, tried hard to help. The hotel kept on sending airport ferry tickets and taxis to different locations or didn’t put our names on the order. It took us 6 hours to come from airport to the hotel.
- Leonard (8/5): It’s good value for the money I spent - The rooms are clean and comfortable Internet coverage wasn’t strong in all areas
- Gareth (10/5): Great hotel stay with great staff - Great hotel stay. It is the people that make a hotel great, and the staff at New Brookfield's are excellent. Reception, bar and restaurant staff, cleaning staff, they are all polite, professional and ready to help. Special thanks to Hassan who went above and beyond to help out on several occasions.
- alimacmason (8/5): - Excellent. good choice of items, tea and coffee, fruit juice and cereals. Also freshly cooked omelettes available Pool was unavailable as it was booked for a private function on the Saturday evening, would have been good to be informed of this at the start of the stay.
- Anouchka (8/5): Interressant - Le personnel
L’emplacement avec parking Le restaurant un peu simpliste

- EDNA (7/5): It was great - Location The checking in
- STAVROULA (9/5): -
- György (9/5): - Tiszta, tágas szoba
- Johanna (9/5): - + Very friendly and helpful staff! Always smiling and polite. Breakfast is great value. Location is perfect for me. I very much enjoyed the swimming pool and there's a small gym too. I have stayed there 3 x. Some of the bathrooms should be renovated, one leaked water even to the mainroom, which was dangerous. Even others have humidity damages and small cockroaches. I was twice bitten by insects during the night, probably bedbugs or ants, and had to ask the staff to spray my room again. Some of the sheets are obviously not pure cotton and itchy.
- Newton (8/5): It was my 3rd stay, happy with the service and location for my meetings! - Always a pleasure to return to the Hotel. Convenient location for my meetings!
- Burker (10/5): - Everything Nothing was there not to like
- Alistair (7/5): Serves its purpose, clean and comfortable - Good choice in restaurant excellent friendly staff As with many places in Africa power interruptions
- Samantha (6/5): -
- Sean.Shweaung (8/5): - This hotel provides quality services with stability. You always feel safe, comfortable, and delicious. You won't be disappointed. The best cost-effective performance in Freetown. There wasn't any of those.

- Elle Park (7/5): Comfortable stay overall and great for business trips, but cleanliness standards could be improved. - The staff were generally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Although I didn’t use it often, I appreciated that guests have access to a small gym located in the adjacent building. The swimming pool also looked clean and well maintained — it seemed to be refreshed daily.
Airport transfer was well arranged — it costs around $60 one way, including the ferry fee, and everything went smoothly on arrival.
Breakfast was quite good for a long stay. Even though the basic setup remained the same, the menu changed slightly every day, which kept it from feeling repetitive. The made-to-order pancakes and omelets (or other egg dishes upon request) were a nice touch. The coffee wasn’t particularly impressive — maybe I’m just spoiled by Ethiopian brews — but it was freshly brewed and perfectly decent. On the other hand, I liked that there were several tea options to choose from.
One day, after opening the balcony door, water started dripping heavily from the air conditioner. I called reception, and within about 15-20 minutes, both maintenance and housekeeping came, fixed the issue, and cleaned everything up efficiently. The next day, when I returned from work, I noticed they had even replaced the table that had gotten wet — a thoughtful follow-up gesture that I really appreciated.
The location isn’t very close to the beach, but since I was on a business trip, I actually liked that it was near key offices and easy to get around for meetings. If you’re coming for a resort-style holiday, though, it might be something to consider. On the bright side, perhaps because it’s a bit farther from the coast, there were surprisingly few mosquitoes, which was a definite plus. When I first arrived in the evening, I noticed that there were small conference rooms located right next to the staircases on each floor. On my first night, there seemed to have been an event on the ground floor, and since the catering hadn’t been cleared away yet, I ended up spotting several cockroaches around the area — not a great first impression (though thankfully, there weren’t many). The next morning, I even saw a baby one crawling on the breakfast table, which gave me quite a fright. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was that it was said to be relatively pest-free, so this was disappointing. To be fair, I visited near the end of the rainy season, so it might be better during the dry months.
During my two-week stay, I encountered two cockroaches in my room on the second floor — one in the bathtub (most likely coming up through the drain) and another right by the door, probably sneaking in when housekeeping was cleaning. I also occasionally saw them in the lobby, so it’s something the hotel may want to manage more proactively.
Aside from that, the room itself was comfortable and generally well kept, but housekeeping could be more consistent. Sometimes they removed all the towels, including unused ones, and I didn’t get replacements until late afternoon. On other days, they didn’t change the used towels for two days in a row. Luckily, I had brought my own sports towel, but for a hotel of this level, towel service should be more reliable.
I’m also quite sensitive to strong smells, and the cleaning solution used by housekeeping was so pungent that it sometimes woke me up early — even when they were cleaning other rooms on the same floor. The cleaning schedule also seemed inconsistent, which made weekend mornings less restful.
For my return flight, which was very early in the morning, there was a brief mix-up during the night-to-day staff handover, and I had to wait about 20 mins for the pickup. It was a bit of a stressful start to the trip home.
- Andrew Kintu (8/5): Comfortable and good value for money - The facilities are very good, spacious, kept clean and well maintained. Everything in the room worked. The staff could be more responsive and courteous.
- Kimathi (8/5): - The hotel is small and warm. The bed was especially comfortable Rooms facing a primary school behind.... sometimes a little noisy in the day.
- Alessia (10/5): - Suite con spazi ampi, dotata di tutti i conforti Niente
- Manuel (8/5): - Gute Lage
- Prekate (9/5): -

- mohamed (10/5): - Amazing location with easy access to many different locations to do business transactions
- Alberto (7/5): -
- Rogers-Wright100200 (9/5): Great Stay and I will be staying again, small improvements needed. - Food was great and the staffs were excellent. Rooms were cleaned daily and i had such a great stay here. I will be coming back. The beddings were clean and I loved the location very close to the main town. The shower was weak and I stayed in room 107, i didnt have a moveable shower head. The fridge was empty and i was only given one water a day. I had to ask for an iron to do my clothing which was not a great look.
- H. Retice Sidney (8/5): -
- Sam (1/5): - Mosquitoes everywhere and cleaning system bad
- Sam (2/5): - Bad cleaning service and mosquitoes everywhere

- Mohammed (1/5): Bad - The receipt lady was not helpful.
- Mohammed (1/5): Bad - The receipt lady was not helpful.
- Hebaallah (8/5): Convenient stay during business trip - Staff are very helpful and act quickly to rectify any issue. On my first night there was an issue with the electricity switch as well as the door lock in my room. They moved me into another room according to my choice. Always smiling and welcoming including front desk, restaurant and housekeeping staff. Rooms are adequate and spacious even the basic rooms. Breakfast cold be improved regarding dairy products. The cooked food in the breakfast is a bit too salty. Nevertheless there is a variety of cereals, jams and spreads and small bakery items.
- Joseph (9/5): Superb -
- Michiel (8/5): Decent Mid-Range Hotel with Nice Staff, Good Breakfast and Spacious Rooms - The choice is Freetown is somewhat limited and the better hotels can be costly. This mid-range property met our expectations in terms of spacious room, good quality bed, decent wifi and helpful staff members. This is more about the choice of hotel than that the hotel itself did not meet our expectations. It is important to keep in mind that in terms of the beach and its restaurants this hotel is located a bit of a distance. It does have plenty of parking space (which we did not make use of) and is located next to thoroughfare which makes it easy to reach.
- Rubio (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (8/5): Nice hotel for a quick stay. Security is not what it could be though. - The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The hallways look like a prison. The locks on the doors were not fully functional.
- Sundayose (8/5): Very good -
- Sundayose (8/5): Very good -
- Mohamed (10/5): - Amazing place with a grade a standard of excellence.
I’ll recommend this place for people who wants to visit Sierra Leone.
Easy access to the beach city area (CBD).
- Francis (7/5): Comfortable and value for money - Location Building works
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Fantastic staff, great location, delicious food and excellent Wifi. Really couldn't have asked for better spot to stay for my week in Freetown.
- Tamad (9/5): Superb - Staff are friendly and professional
The facilities are clean location perfect 👌🏿
- Vicfalls (8/5): Very good - we enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the people at their reception were helpful and responsive. -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olufemi (9/5): Superb - I love the rooms.set up..the food was great as well
Excellent proffessional and friendly staff
- Mabinty (6/5): Pleasant -
- uclatraveler9 (8/5): Restaurant Review - This is a review of the restaurant inside the hotel. We had a work event and needed to order about a dozen meals to go. The menu is varied.
We got a few pizzas, chicken shawarmas, and veggie wraps. The food was tasty! The shawarmas were very good and large. The meals came with chips. I appreciated the small containers of tomato sauce they sent along.
I did need to add a few meals when I arrived, and it took a long time to make them, so don't come here in a rush.
Credit cards are accepted. Parking was easy in the hotel's lot.
- Siana (8/5): Hospitable, Welcoming & Conveniently Located! - The staff were outstanding, the location was extremely central and convenient, and overall the hotel was the perfect base for our trip. We felt safe, looked after, and welcomed and we most certainly will return.
Highlight was breakfast - lots of choice and fresh options. In fact the restaurant’s menu was excellent, offering a range of traditional Salone food as well as other options.
Huge thanks again from my mother and I to you all! Una tenki!
- Silva (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (5/5): Good hotel, but lacking some basics. - Fresh omelettes at breakfast, friendly staff. Nice pool, looked clean. Okay, but small gym...some equipment did not work. Nice dining area. Not good value for money. Swiss Hotel was cheaper and better. Good brakfast, relatively clean rooms, but some mosquitoes. Friendly, but very efficient staff. Agreed to book airport transfer, forgot, the booked, then said they didn't book, then said they did book. Forgot to clean room second day. Bad smell in room. Small cockroach on counter.
- Changhua (7/5): Good - The towels are soft and new excellent.
Hot water is good.
Nice AC,
Nice electricity...
Thank you so much 💓
Beautiful cups.
Good construction... One coffee ☕️ cup was broken,
The hand wash basin was broken,
The floor was leaking water after shower...
No TV signal and
no service help together with me go to my room.
- Irene (7/5): Satisfactory - Staff were professional More attention to hygiene
- Judith (8/5): I liked it enough to stay again.... - Liked most things. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the pool. Good fridge and air con very efficient which is really important...
Room cleaned every day which we appreciated. No view to speak of, enclosed space looking onto wall of next door school, with corrugated iron covering the ground and the security guard was right by our ground floor balcony which in one way was reassuring but also felt a bit awkward if sitting out there!
- Nicolaas (9/5): Superb - Excellent place, near peace museum and road towards Tacugama. Great breakfast, beds and quite airco. Luggage storage available. Excellent pool! Price is high, like allover SL.
- Alton (8/5): - Amenities were great
- Stuart (7/5): Good -
- Ghislain (7/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff but should improve on food offer. - it is not far from the Lumley Beach and other attractions in Freetown. The food served in the hotel was not really meeting my expectations. They can improve on that.
Also the front yard of the hotel is very dusty. it can be renovated to look much welcoming.
- Ghislain (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The suite accomodations allowed me to entertain 8 adult people by seating four at dining table and four on sofa at sofa table and two children on pillows at sofa table. The fridge was big enough to keep beverages cold, some perishable items and freezer storage for ice cream containers and large bags of French fries. There were three full combination bathrooms! Only three spoons, 3 forks, three knives and the room was supposed to accommodate four.
- Korankye-adjei (9/5): Superb -
- Patrick (4/5): - Cockroaches in the kitchen,
Rat running in the hallway
Washing machine not working properly, had to pay to get my clothes washed.
Television didn't work properly until i left the hotel.
Had to clean the microwave and fridge myself.
Nice and supportive staff
People from outside could see/look right into my living room which made me feel unsafe so I had to report and they covered the access point.
I'd go there again if the service is improved upon but i need a refund for my inconvenience and discomfort.
The restaurant staff weren't good.
- Hebaallah (9/5): Superb - Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast can benefit from better cheese and yoghurt options.
- Sam (6/5): Surprised - I’ve been in that hotel about 3 times now. Tho was my fourth. This tube I was surprised with service and attention to service. Waited to place a request for service. Called about 4 or five times. No answer. I called the reception and was told they will tell them. Waited for about 35 minutes. I had to leave my room and walk there my self. I’ll go here again next time but I won’t buy food or call then for any thing again
- Linda (10/5): - The Staffs at the front desk, restaurant and pool bar are wonderful, the pay attention to detail. And they care for your every need.
- Dominique (8/5): Perfect level of comfort and cleanliness for a work trip in SL. - The croissants and the overall breakfast selection were enjoyable. The coffee could improve.
- Massaquoi (10/5): My experience was NBH was great and I'll definitely come again. - The breakfast was great and the staff were excellent
- Molla (9/5): Superb -

- Alpha (9/5): I had a good experience from receptionists way down to security 10/10 for me - Everything Nothing really
- Juliana (8/5): Overall, It was a nice place to stay especially since it has been renovated . But they have to clean the floors to preve - Location and staff Floors were not as clean as expected. There were also some roaches
- Josephin (9/5): Superb -
- Aminata (10/5): - Everything
