- Chandra Prakash (2/5): - I booked this property for my trip to Lisbon. The only thing that is good about this property is the location. Everything else is really bad. This property is centrally located but it is a very old property. Right from the entrance of the property all the rooms smell of Pigeon poop. I complained to reception about it and they seem to be aware of this and offered me a room on a different floor but you just can't get rid of the pigeon poop smell. It was impossible to sleep without opening the windows that were facing the roadside with lots of noise at night. In pictures on Expedia, you'll see pictures of kitchen and laundry machines which gives the impression that they are accessible to the tenants, but in fact, they are not. It is just a misleading advertisement. Also, when they say private bathroom on the listing, not all bathrooms are inside the room. Some rooms have "private" bathrooms outside the room (which will be used only by you). Another misleading advertisement. Stay away from this property.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Do Not Stay Here - Do not stay here. Any other hotel in the city center is priced similarly and is far better. When we saw the awful state of the room we tried to get a refund. The refund policy was to pay one night as a penalty. The hotel refused our request. hotels.com was no help at all. We booked another hotel and stayed there. We didn't check out of Baixa while we were still paying for it. The hotel rented the room to other travelers while we were out. They said they'd refund our money but did not. The general manager (owner?) is the rudest woman in Portugal. It's really not worth the hassle.

- Matt (2/5): Stay Anywhere Else - The room for three people was wall to wall bed. It was not modern or spacious, as advertised. It did not have AC, as advertised. There wasn’t room for more than one person to stand. We tried speaking to Hotels.com and got the run around. They directed us to the hotel. The “front desk” directed us to the manager (the rudest woman in Portugal) who directed us to Hotels.com. This is not a hotel the management is proud of. They get their business by fooling people. We found another place to stay. We did not check out. The hotel sold our room to another person. When we returned to the room we were still paying for, two strange sets of luggage and toiletries were in the room. We are charging back through AMEX because the hotel has no qualms about charging two parties for the same room.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Super zentrales Hotel für 3 Tage Aufenthalt - Wir kamen an, eine Stadtkarte wurde uns geschenkt und wie wir alle Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichen, Essensmöglichkeiten wurde uns erklärt . Der Check in war schnell und unkompliziert. Es war keine Luxus Ausstattung aber für uns hat es gereicht, da wir immer unterwegs waren und nicht viel Schlaf gebraucht haben. Man bekommt ein bisschen Straßenverkehr mit weil es wirklich zentral ist und man nicht weit laufen muss um viele Dinge zu erreichen. Was uns ein bisschen gestört hat, war das es kalt war in dem Zimmer, da wir wegen den Geräuschen die Heizung über Nacht nicht an lassen konnten. Unser Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Sehr hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal. Würde das Hotel wieder buchen !
- Verified traveler (4/5): Left to our own devices - I knew this wouldn't be perfect but I thought the guest house would at least match the information in their listing. I think my biggest annoyance is with the 24h reception which in fact was open for maybe an hour a day, if at all. I was also expecting a hairdryer in the room but it wasn't there and I couldn't get it from reception when it was convenient for me because there wasn't anyone at reception. Just a mention in case this is important to you: - twin room had two single beds one next to the other which pretty much looked like one and there was no space to separate them - peeling wallpaper - leaking shower, shower with mould and rust. At lest pressure and water temp was good. The one thing that the guest house is definitely good for is location - convenient for public transport, nightlife, restaurants etc. Overall an ok stay, we knew it would be cheap and cheerful. Most things you can live with for a short stay but lack of reception is definitely an inconvenience.

- Alan and Nancy (6/5): Closest in proximity to the city center. - While the Guest House was close to nearly everything in the city center it lacked the basic space necessary for any couple to manipulate around a room. The bedroom was the size of the double bed. There were no facilities beyond that other than bathroom space (no tub) and limited area to negotiate around a sink. No AC no lift (2nd floor walk up) and narrow corridors. While the room was clean, and the owner cordial and hospitable the facilities lacked substance. Even the flat screen TV was the size of my computer monitor, very basic room with only plastic cups. Should be considered a Hostel and not a Guest House that non-backpackers would be used too.

- Verified traveler (8/5): ロシオ駅に近く便利 - 予約後に私のクレジットカードが更新され、デポジットがかけられないとのことで、事前のホテルとのやりとりが非常に面倒だった。(エクスペディアで予約したのにホテルズドットコムから更新してとメールが来たり。エクスペディアで更新してもホテル側に伝わらないとのことで、セキュリティー上懸念があったが、結局メールでカード番号を知らせなくてはならなかった。)しかし、ホテルはロシオ駅に近く、活動するにはとても便利で、ホテルのスタッフさんも大きな荷物を気持ちよく運んで下さったり部屋は綺麗に清掃されていて、気持ちよく滞在できました。私が行った時は夜涼しく問題なかったですが、クーラーがないので気をつけたほうが良いと思います。
- Verified traveler (10/5): Love it! - Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is perfect coz it's just a few minutes walk to Rossio station and tram stations. The room is in good condition but a little bit dark and not very spacious, yet it is definitely enough for two people! The bathroom is clean and tidy, which we appreciate the most. The wifi is not super stable but acceptable. The door of the guesthouse is not that obvious but you'll definitely be able to find it with Google map:)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Construction zone in Baixa - We were very disappointed with this accommodation. There was construction (of big buildings) on both sides and on the ground floor of this premises, with a big dump bin outside the locked front door full of broken wall/floor sheeting of who knows what possible material? When we arrived and a builder let us in there was a power cord extension running up the stairwell. We were placed on fourth floor in attic-type room with no lift when I had an email confirming lower floor. We had no hot water during our stay, despite letting the shower run for five minutes (the shower head was just like a tap, so it wouldn't have been very pleasant anyway) and the bathroom floor was very slippery after this attempt with no bathmat or hand towels. There were exposed power wires on the wall of the bathroom. Wifi on fourth floor was almost non-existent, very difficult to get on to, and dropped out constantly - useless. There was a kitchenette but the plates and mugs had just been rinsed and left on the dirty sink. The place advertised 24-hour reception, but the front door and the door to reception on the first floor were usually closed and they had phone numbers you could phone in an emergency. This is not my idea of 24-hour reception and not what was advertised. This was a most unpleasant stay and I would never recommend it to anyone.

- Fredrik (6/5): Billigt men lyhört - Läget var nog det bästa med hotellet och trestjärnigt var nog en överdrift. Personalen var trevlig och de flesta tillmötesgående. Bekvämligheterna var vad man kan förvänta sig av priset. Tråkigt nog så stank det sura träningskläder från toaletten. Och det var väldigt lyhört. Ibland visste man inte om det var nån i rummet eller om det var utanför.

When he saw us in bed, he apologized and closed the door. This place is a joke. The television never worked in my room, yet I still was charged the full rate each day. I am so sorry I ever booked this place. The intense heat made sleep very, very difficult. I am so disappointed.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location. - Great location. Steps from Rossio train station, Metro stations, and the major sights. We were there in June and it was already quite warm. The room did not have air conditioning so it was a bit uncomfortable unless the window was open. Other than that, you just can't beat the location.

- Barry (6/5): Once behind the street door all is well! - A hotel situated on a busy street central to transport links but with an entrance flanked by a kebab shop on one side and a derelict shop on the other but.... once inside you can enjoy a very reasonable overnight experience with clean, functional rooms and a good level of comfort (beds, shower, double glazing) all in all a pleasant stay.

- JUHYUN (8/5): 친절하고 편안했던 데스크와 시계방 할아버지께 감사. - 어쩌다보니 새벽에 도착하여 자고 있는 데스크를 깨워야했다. 사전에 연락도 없어 당황했을 텐데, 귀찮다는 기색 없이 전화를 받고 달려와 문을 열어주었다. 1박을 예약했지만 숙박객이 별로 없어서인지 거의 2일을 편안하게 이용했다. 따뜻한 물도 잘 나오고 난방도 괜찮았다. 리프트가 없으나 친절한 직원이 짐을 날라줌. 1층 시계방 할아버지는 무뚝뚝하지만 매우 친절하고, 실질적인 주인인 듯 편리를 봐주셨다. 호시우 광장, 역과 걸어서 5분 거리라 이동하기 편하고 주변에 맛집, 기념품 가계 등이 즐비하다. 느리게 흘러가는 리스본 시내를 보고 싶거나 적은 비용으로 편하게 쉬고 싶은 여행자들에게 적극 추천한다.

- Verified traveler (10/5): とてもよかったです - Martim Moniz駅が最寄駅になるかと思いますが、Rossio駅もすぐ近くでレストランやカフェなども多くとても便利です。目の前の通りはバスや路面電車が通っているので多少騒々しいですが、眠れないほどではありません。レセプションの奥にキッチンと冷蔵庫があり自由に使うことができます。 シャワージェルがメロンの香りでちょっと好みではなかったのと、タオルをお願いしないと交換してくれないこと以外はとても快適なホテルでした。レセプショニストの方たちも気さくに挨拶してくれて、また機会があれば利用したいです。

The entrance door seemed to be almost as in conspiracy movie - behind a chair of the outdoor restaurant! The hotel stuff was trying very hard to be pleasing, though lucking professionalism and sometimes even chatty. It was OK not to have an elevator - I knew about it ahead of time, though stair are very steep. No hairdryer or electric kettle in the room - had to go to kitchen downstairs for tea. Did not feel safe as balcony door works as a window as well. Overall it was not authentic Portuguese experience I was looking for as this hotel is run by a different cultural minority.
- Lena (10/5): The best Guesthouse ever! - Very good value for money! Best location in centro, close to everything, trams, Metro, buses. Staff who's very friendley, professional and helpful. It feels very secure due to caring and 24-hours security. Highly recfommended!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Prisvärt enkelt boende centralt - Ett enkelt boende väldigt centralt i Lissabon. Nära till metro, spårvagnar och bussar. Personalen mycket hjälpsam med allt och måna om att man skall trivas. Rummen är små och det finns endast trappor, ej någon hiss. Ett guesthouse som ligger i gammal byggnad men rummen är rena och fina. Ett perfekt boende om man skall utforska Lissabon och bara vill ha ett bra ställe att sova på. Bra frukostställen finns på torgen som ligger några minuters promenad från Baixa Guesthouse. Mycket prisvärt och lätt att rekommendera.
- Christian (8/5): Emplacement parfait pour découvrir la ville à pied - Séjour d'une semaine organisé à la dernière minute fin Août. L'hôtel est très bien situé au centre de Lisbonne. Les différents quartiers à visiter sont accessibles à pied. L'hôtel est très simple avec un confort basique mais c'est propre et bien entretenu. Le personnel est très serviable. Le rapport qualité prix est correct. Si vous avez une chambre sur la rue cela peut être assez bruyant entre les voitures, bus et tram qui passent juste devant mais on ne peut pas tout avoir.
- George (8/5): Lancashire O. A. P,s - This modest hotel is in a good position in the city center, close to public transport, and main attractions. We stayed for a week in a room on the first floor. Although there was no air conditioning(not to be expected at this price)a fan was provided but we never needed to use it even though daytime temperatures exceeded 30 degrees on some days. The room was pleasantly furnished, the beds comfortable, a nice large bathroom and everything worked flawlessly. We found all the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable and gave us good advice. There is no breakfast but this is not a problem as there are many cafes/restaurants close by at very reasonable prices. As with every hotel we could nit pick at minor points and these have been covered in other reviews. Lisbon is one of the great European cities and any hotel should be looked on as a comfortable place to sleep at the end of a tiring day of activity. All in all well done Baixa Guest House we heartily recommend you.

- Winnie Siew Bee (2/5): not recommended - There is no lift and it really is not a joke having to climb everyday to your room. Plus no phone nor hair dryer. Reception is on first floor and you can imagine each time a service is needed, you have to climb the stairs.
- Howard (8/5): Biaxa Guest House - The guest house is well located in central Lisbon. Good management and helpful staff.
- G (10/5): Very central - Very friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed my stay there. Room was nicely decorated. Bathroom was also clean and nice. Nicely located, close to metro stations and bus/tram stations, which makes it quite useful to travel from and back to the airport. The place looks very well maintained and new.
- Maneki M (6/5): Good location but no towels! - Friendly staff, good location. Room clean and value for money, but let down by lack of any towels and a room safe that did not work and wasn't fix in place.
- Jill (6/5): Great location - The hotel was situated very close to Rossi square. Reception were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were on the smaller side but very clean and comfortable.
- Aleksandar (8/5): Good hotel in city center - I stayed only one night. Room was clean, I would not complain if it was little bit larger. Hotel is well located. Bairro Alto square is only one minute walk from the hotel, and the first stop of tram 28 is even closer.
