Guest Reviews
- Sue (3/5): - Bed was terrible!
- Maria (5/5): Got there slept and left - It was on the road Looks old
- Perrotte (5/5): - Shower was fine toilet area sucked no room
- Donna (9/5): - Clean shower is great Noise from highway hard to sleep need more hot water

- Kelli (6/5): We won’t stay again - It was super clean Very loud location ( next to highway) small of air freshener was overwhelming - we asked for non smoking and the room stink very badly of cigarette smoke and too much air freshener tongued the smell - we had to sleep with the window open - The room was in a poor state of repair , definitely seen better days but was very clean
- PEIFANG (10/5): - Extremely clean room, new soft yet thick towels. The interior rooms are very quiet. Very friendly staff. No price gouging even right before the local annual bike race. Very affordable. I would definitely recommend this place. I love cats, I especially enjoy seeing cats playing around on the back parking lots. Apparently staff members are feeding the cats. It just warms your heart knowing that people care about these street cats.
- Simeon (6/5): - This place isn't bad considering, it's probably the lowest price in town. It's clean, but some things aren't up to date. If you're looking for a no frills easy to get too room, this is the place to go, perfectly friendly, pretty quiet.
- Marquis (10/5): - Quick check in; friendly staff. Older property, but still a decent place to stay. Especially for the price.
- nien-shu (2/5): - Stuffs were very friendly.
Room was in poor shape, we left without talking a shower.
- Carl or Kristin (4/5): - The staff was friendly and got us in our room quickly. I don’t mind old furnishings, but the bathroom needed cleaned.
- Ervin (10/5): - Arrived early by several hours minutes after booking and allowed me to check in prior by three hours!
- Kevin (10/5): - Very clean and friendly staff
- Robin (8/5): - Nice n clean
- Mary (8/5): - Old room, not kept up with such things as paint touch ups, etc. No extras at all.
- Shannon (10/5): - We had already driven 13 hours when we started looking for a cheaper hotel. Initially we looked in Raton, but the poor reviews about cleanliness, etc, for the budget hotels in that area made us decide to drive the extra half hour to get to this hotel. We were not disappointed!
The hotel was immaculate and well-kept, though older. The sheets and towels were newer, and the beds comfortable. Check-in was so easy, and the view in the morning (we had a mountain view room) was grand.
Be aware that there is no breakfast, and the rooms are on the smaller side.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Deanna (10/5): - The view is amazing and peaceful! A wonderful sunrise and sunsets
- Deanna (10/5): - I love its pet friendly and the staff is so friendly and welcoming there! The view of the mountains is insanely beautiful! It looks like a portrait daily! It’s a great place to visit and take a break on your travels!
- Deanna (10/5): - The staff here is so friendly and helpful!!!! Wonderful people! The view is so beautiful! The sunrise, sunsets and clouds with the clear view of the mountains is literally breathtaking! I feel safe here and I love my car is right outside the door and they have cameras to ensure everyone’s safety!
- Monty (8/5): -
- Lee (10/5): - Nice place would stay there again.
- Deanna (10/5): - The staff here is very friendly and helpful in every way possible!
- Lee (2/5): - This place is terrible
- Tania (10/5): - As a smoker, I appreciate being able to have a smoking room. Too many places no longer have this option.
- Mauro (7/5): -
- Tinydee (10/5): Worth the money - Owners are wonderful!! Very accommodating to what we ask for. Location is great and room was comfortable. Quiet area. Have no issues.
- Liadra (6/5): - Beds werent bad great staff
- WILLIAM (6/5): - I stayed one night while traveling. This is an older property that has made an effort to update the fixtures, furniture, and beds. Beds were comfortable (felt “newish”), but rooms need a good coat of paint and curtains need some help. This place is very underwhelming from the outside, but for the price I thought this was a good place to stay.
- Ortega (6/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): -
- Joe (10/5): - Great place to stay for the value or cost of the room. Clean room with comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again. No breakfast offered but room has microwave and decent sized refrigerator.
- Buddy (9/5): -
- Dalton (4/5): - You have to pay a fee to park your car here after you already pay 160 a night. The tv is garbage it turns on and off at will. The one nice feature is the bed. I’ve had better stays at a motel 6 for less than half the price.
- Patrick (10/5): - This is my most favourite "inn" i've ever stayed in... haha yeah what can I saw about this place other it had a good atmosphere that made me feel... something... like .. I FELT warm staying. here. I wanna warn all potential guests about something that is about this place... the staff.. the-ir.. I mean they're really sweet I mean gosh... this place really left me impressed. I recommed this place 7/7 yes will came aga-an.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Great property I found the windows unlocked so double check.
- Angelo (2/5): - Went into our room and is was disgusting. Dead bugs. Stained sheets. Bathroom had dead bugs.
- Levi (2/5): - It was gross
- Benjamin (10/5): - Very easy check in and check out. A good bang for the buck.
- Ron (2/5): - Dirty and falling apart.
- Jonathan (6/5): - The front side of the property is constantly and brightly lit, and the drapes are not long enough to block out the light; also, there was not coffee or breakfast the next morning, and nobody was in the lobby at checkout.
- Rosemary (2/5): - We checked in around 10 pm, my husband went straight to sleep. I sleep with the tv on. It had no signal! Couldn't have someone come,to check it. It was outdated. The floor creeked when you walked on it. The curtains were not wide enough to cover entire window, the light came in and reflected straight to where i was sleeping. Then early the air conditioner brought in a horrific skunk smell! Definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel.
- Kimberly (8/5): - The room was very dated. It met my needs for the night. It was a bit confusing to find only because of the GPS and round abouts. I’d definitely stay a night again if just passing through beyond that I wouldn’t.
- Leo (10/5): - Nice enough
- Neil (2/5): Very poor - Close to the Interstate Old decrabid, dirty, uncomfortable room.
- Janet (4/5): - It really needs to be updated. Missing essentials. No tissues, no extra toilet paper, ran out!!! Toilet wobbled. Room needed to be painted. Curtain were broken. Mattress didn't fit the bed
- Janet (2/5): Awful! - It was not well kept at all. Should have had a clue when I checked in because the clerk was behind plexiglass. The room wasn’t very clean, the bathroom was so tiny you had to step beside the toilet to shut the door. The pillows were awful, the tv was mounted very low and wouldn’t stay in position, so we propped it up with a box of Kleenex. The door lock wouldn’t engage. Overall, I’d give it a big no.
- Lee (6/5): - Last time I stayed here they put me in a room that didn’t have a refrigerator or a microwave. They should charge no more than $40 a night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic and OK - We stayed the night to catch a few hours of sleep on a long drive. Dated building but floors were recently tiled. AC worked though a tad noisy. Clean sheets and bathrooms. Basic and OK for a night’s stay.
- Andrew (10/5): - Really enjoyed my stay!
- Bruce (10/5): - A very pleasant stay. Great welcoming staff. Clean and roomy room.
- JoAnna (10/5): - It’s an older property but that ends up being part of its charm. The view is gorgeous and it’s close to town. The room is very clean and has everything we need. Staff is friendly. Will definitely stay here again.
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manuel (2/5): - Ok
- Melissa (10/5): Nice Stay at Budget Host - Our stay at Budget Host was quiet and comfortable. The young man at the front desk was friendly and efficient, and the room was nice and clean.
- Paul (10/5): - Convenient location with wonderful staff
- Alana (10/5): Perfect for the.night. - I booked this motel as a inexpensive and convenient place to stay on my way to Montrose. I just slept there, but the room was clean and it was quiet. My only complaint was that they don't have smart TV's so I couldn't stream anything. But, cable was fine.
- Therese (4/5): - Would not stay here again. We tried it because it was inexpensive and looked good in the pictures. In person, the lobby was okay but the rooms had dirty walls with holes and missing paint in places.
- David L (10/5): Maintance required - The Shower can you use some maintance. The front door is extremely hard to work. Needs attention.
- Lee (6/5): - I like a hotel that doesn’t bother you everyday for cleaning but no service whatsoever isn’t preferred.
- Justin (2/5): - Housekeeping woke us up at 8:30am. Couldn't fall back asleep so only got about 5 hours of rest. Wait until people check out to do your rounds. Morons.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for an overnight stay. - Ok for a 1 night stay. Has WIFI, fridge, microwave TV. Clean condition.
Room smell of stale cigarettes. Outdated, no extras like soap, drink cups, etc.
- Elisabeth (10/5): - Always nice and affordable
- Kersten (8/5): - We were originally supposed to stay in Pueblo on our trip home to Texas.... however, they said that they couldn't guarantee the safety of our truck or anything left in the pickup's bed.... so we debated the odds and went south...looking at hotels.com we found the Trinidad Budget Host online. The desk clerk was terrific and helpful..... the room was clean...but there was no breakfast nor any hot coffee in the hall.....and no cafe/fast food place, as the hotel is on the south side of town, and we were heading south.
- Sai (4/5): Disappointing - Accessible and good views Old property
- Jeremiah (10/5): - It was definitely enjoyable relaxing fresh towels soap cable internet comfortable beds environments pretty nice I definitely come back and I recommend it definitely reasonable price as well
- Sharon (8/5): - Good location for road trip.
- Taylor (4/5): - I got what I paid for I guess. Had it not been late and pitch black out after 18 hours of driving, I would have selected a different hotel. The room badly needed some work. The walls were filthy, the sealing on the door was minimal with the frame looking like it could have been kicked in both previously and easily in the future… There was a baby bottle left in the window seal. It didn’t feel the safest, but enough to sleep with one eye open. There was 1 bar soap and the soap in the shower was not shampoo or conditioner😬 Smelled like Mtn Dew.. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend unless it was a LAST resort. Staff was friendly tho!
- Gregory (8/5): - Modest and pleasant location, just south of downtown Trinidad
- Eric (10/5): - The property is by itself on a hill. It is a mile away from the city. Drove through the city. It was very small town feel. Every food place you can think of is within two miles plus a Wal Mart.
- Karen (10/5): - The staff were excellent, the place is in a pretty area, rooms are larger than average and come with a desk overall very comfortable.
- Joe (2/5): - I was told after the fact that my service dog was not allowed on the bed. So they kept my $50 deposit. So watch out. There is nothing in writing stating that.
- Hiroko (8/5): - Reasonable price, quiet, convenient.
- Alain (8/5): - Exactly as stated. Staff was very helpful and I got some sleep.
- dawn (8/5): - Staff is the shining star here. Property is outdated, but comfortable, and exactly what you would expect at this price point. Quiet and clean and a respite midway on my journey.
- Jason (10/5): - Perfectly adequate for the price paid. Clean and convenient
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eva (10/5): - Good
- Matthew c (6/5): - The bed was comfortable and the room and linens were clean. Decor was very dated. Furniture was dated. Years of use and neglected maintenance were obvious. Cracks in walls/ ceiling, gaps under the entry door cracked window glass. Large Black Widow spider in the bathroom. We paid $40/nt so I wasnt expecting much. 2 cop cars were circling the motel when we arrived- not sure if thats bad or not. Right next to the interstate and very loud- no sound insulation. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. You could tell that they tried- maint is probably not a priority for the owner $$. Overall alright in a pinch but Id say a step above camping.
- Angela (10/5): - Art at the front desk was and is a blessing. His kindness, warmth, and he was very welcoming. My vehicle broke down last Friday heading to Loveland from Houston TX and we were devastated. We were stranded here in Trinidad (we never been here) and I used up all of my AAA tows trying to get my vehicle fixed. Art went over and beyond to make sure my sonand I. He even called his mechanic to fix my vehicle and his mechanic came to the hotel driving from Weston. Our experience here was great. Thank you Art! More than Great customer service!
- Lee (8/5): - Place is acceptable for the price. Not the best but definitely not the worst.
- Colin (8/5): Very good - Lovely staff and view of mountains
- Steve (1/5): I will never stay here again. - Nothing. Service was horrible and billing was even worse. Everything. The property was very dated and dirty.
- Moore (10/5): Exceptional -
- dave (4/5): - Ok for a night but next time would stay somewhere a little nicer.
- Robert (8/5): - Nice place to stay
- MARK (2/5): - A nice stay for a very good price...I thought. Everything was fine until we got ready for bed and found the mattress was completely compressed in the middle. Seriously, the middle two foot strip had no support for the length of the bed. My wife and I tried sleeping on either side of the depression, but there wasn't enough mattress left to support us. Worst nights sleep imaginable!
- Dorothy (10/5): - Clean and very comfortable bed
- Ryan (3/5): Poor -
- Manuel (10/5): - Nice stay
- Monique (8/5): - Very nice staff
- richard (8/5): - it was clean & affordable, will use it again next time we are in town.
- Benny (8/5): Good place to stay while travelling! -
- Andrew (10/5): - I could tell a lot of renovations had taken place, which I greatly appreciated because it's generally an older building. Everything felt safe, clean, and functional. Will be staying here again in the future.
- Paul (10/5): - The staff is awesome. It’s location was perfect for this trip.
- James (7/5): Good -
