• Verified traveler (4/5): - This property is older, not well maintained. The rooms do not lock properly, not secure at all. No TV. Poor to no internet service. The food was disappointing and expensive. Go into town to eat, I do not advise bringing food to cook in the units.

• Maria (6/5): - We liked the place, except the beach, they need to do something about the flies because is very difficult to enjoy walking at the beach with bugs. The road needs to be fixed also, the villas as they called them, the bathroom faucet on the sink was not working at all, inconvenient. They have potential but it needs some TLC.

• Israel (6/5): Great Beach, ok hotel - We arrived to our room, only for it to have the ac and fan broken and got switched to a different room, that wasn’t prepared to have guests, so it was a little dirty. Place feels a little run down, but the staff are friendly. The only plus is the beach that is nice and isolated, making it great if you have kids and children.

El mar es sorprendente, a tan solo unos pasos de tu habitación, encontraras la playa mas limpia, mas bella y disfrutable de toda la Peninsula Yucateca
• OSITO (8/5): - La playa casi no tiene gente por lo que es increíble sentir que es solo tuya, en momentos solo eres tu y los animales (pelícanos, pajaros pequeños) e insectos. La piscina y áreas comunes bien cuidadas, los cuartos aunque en diseño iguales, son distintos en detalles como la sobre cama, el tipo de muebles que tienen, gavetas de cocina, o si tiene mosquiteros en la terraza o no. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Recomiendo llevar algo de alimentos para hacer alguna comida en el depto. (hay refrigerador, según el cuarto puede estar bien o no tanto) pues está a unos 4 km aprox del pueblo y el restaurante del hotel es un poco caro en mi opinión (el desayuno incluido es muy bueno, con jugo o café, fruta, huevos o crepas (depende del día lo que se ofrece) Solo hay que tener en cuenta que tanta naturaleza hace que haya insectos llevar repelente es obligatorio. Para nosotros es un lugar muy bonito que nos ha gustado visitar.

• Monchi (8/5): - No esperaba mucho y quede gratamente sorprendido, muy cómodas habitaciones, piscina inmejorable, playa hermosa el muelle, la atención, lo único que quedó a dever fue el restaurante sin ser malo, es ahí donde podrían mejorae, sin duda regreso.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Traumhafte Lage - Die Anlage ist schön und der Strand einsam und nahezu unberührt. Das Personal war ausnahmslos freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool ist groß und sauber. Die Gebäude haben schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, sind aber ok. Die Zimmer werden nur jeden zweiten Tag sauber gemacht, was kein Problem wäre, hätte man wenigstens einen Besen zur Hand um den Sand raus zu fegen. Keinerlei Garten/Strandmöbel am Haus. Die größte Katastrophe ist das Restaurant, es gab ungefähr gar nichts, also z.B. Keine Cola... nur Horchata zum Frühstück und die Rühreier angeblich nicht ohne Fleischeinlage.... das Ambiente, nicht vorhanden. Deshalb alles nur ok. Die Lage wie gesagt hervorragend !
• Verified traveler (4/5): Hotel muy aislado con mal servicio. - El hotel esta a 7 kms. del pueblo de Celestun. La amabilidad no es una de las características del personal. El desayuno es horroroso. No limpiaron la habitación en los dos días que estuve.
• LUZ MERCEDES (6/5): - El cuarto que me asignaron no le habían hecho mantenimiento desde hace tiempo, la comida rica, el servicio muy atento a tus peticiones, pero no había ni toallas y las amenidades de muy baja calidad.
• Robert (4/5): Dirty and disappointing - The location of this hotel is great. Its all alone outside the town of Celestun which makes it a quiet getaway. However while the grounds are quite nice the hotel really needs some attention. The rooms were dirty and needed a very good clean. The beds were rock hard. Most have efficiency units but I would not even want to use the flatware without some industrial cleaner work first. The swim up bar sounds inviting but it was closed and looked as if it was falling down. We took a good look and then left again. While I am happy to go most places and put up with some hardship I do insist on clean especially at the prices they are charging. I would not recommend this hotel and it’s a long drive back to find something else.

• pab (6/5): Muy bonita playa y villa acogedora - Una muy bonita experiencia, tuvimos un detalle ya que no estaba lista la villa y además estaban dando mantenimiento ( pintura ) el restaurante muy limitado en opciones de alimentos ( ya que está alejado del pueblo) aunque si uno va preparado con alimentos tienes cocina completa en la villa. Siento que falta personal en recepción, preparación de habitaciones; si me gustaría regresar pero con alimentos para cocinar El precio es relativamente alto para la zona, si vale la pena pero puede mejorar
• Zoyaya (6/5): Sin servicio tipo hotel - Si vas consiente que es la renta de una cabaña y no contarás con servicios de bar y un buen restaurante. Es bueno. Pero nunca te avisan que tendrás servicio mínimos o básicos en un lugar tan alejado. La vista es hermosa pero llevas la expectativa que llegarás y te antendaran con bebidas, snaks, y buena comida. Necesitan trabajar mucho en tema de servicio o decir claramente en las especificaciones de la renta del cuarto que contarás con los servicios mínimo indispensable.
• David (6/5): Bonito pero mal conectado... - El hotel está muy limpio, las instalaciones muy bien, la alberca bonita pero helada (no se usa), las cabañas son muy bonitas y cada una tiene acceso a playa “privada”, lamentablemente para llegar el acceso es por terracerias muy descuidadas.
• catherine (4/5): Beautiful beach, poorly run hotel - The beach and grounds are lovely, very private and well maintained. The rooms, service and food however leave much to be desired, mediocre food, poorly maintained rooms, inattentive staff. A disappointment.
• Ron (10/5): PARADISE ON EARTH - Beautiful well-manicured grounds and comfortable villas on the beach. Great friendly staff, attending to your every need. The hotel is about 8 km away town and you will have to drive on a very bad road. Do not let it scare you. It will be worth the bad ride. The beach is clean and gorgeous. The food in their restaurant is good but not excellent. Overall, I will recommend PLAYA MAYA over any other hotel in the area. Just make sure you have a car.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel para descansar lejos de todo - Es un hotel bonito y sin lujos, perfecto para irte a perder en una playa donde vas a estar prácticamente solo. La alberca tiene muy buen tamaño y es muy agradable. Hay muchas aves y puedes pescar en su muelle. Las habitaciones tienen todo lo que necesitas, inclusive tienen cocineta por si quieres prepararte algo ya que el restaurante no tiene muchas opciones.
• LAURENCE (8/5): cadre magnifique - hôtel magnifique.bungalow très agréable avec terrasse et accès à la plage(pieds dans l'eau).2 superbes piscines.Serveuses adorables.petits déjeûners copieux. par contre,l'hôtel est très isolé,au bout d'une route interminable et en très mauvais état en partant du centre de Celestun.Voiture quasiment indispensable.

• Liliana (4/5): Hotel con muy pocos servicios y en mal estado. - El hotel sin señalización para llegar, sin ayuda de equipaje, la habitación en mal estado, la regadera de la habitación principal rota y la tina sucia, el ventilador no servía, muchos focos fundidos, almohadas y cama mal, todo se le aviso a la recpción y no hicieron nada... afortunadamente solo nos quedamos una noche. Poco iluminación en areas comunes. No regresaría.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel that needs a lot of improvements... - Nice hotel that needs a lot of improvements. This hotel is located at a real paradise, the cost of Yucatan, Mexico. The hotel can do a lot better, this is a peaceful place, perfect to relax. Room has very good size, like mini apartments but in a real need of maintenance. All employes are very nice and doing there best job with the poor help from the owners. I would love to get back to this hotel specially for the people working here ant the location, I hope the owners can read this message and improve their hotel, rooms need a lot of maintenance, AC was not working properly at my room, furniture is very old. Sheets are also old and with wholes, they limit the towels to only one per room and also are very old and with wholes. Mosquitos is the big issue but Hotel has nothing to do with it, just prepare and bring a good repellent.

• Krista (6/5): Make Sure You Bring Cash - This was a trip I booked for my in-laws, and I was more than disappointed in the lack of communication from the actual resort. I must have called them 40 times over the course of three days with no answer and no voicemail options. I tried emailing as well, but still no luck. I had expedia customer service (really great experience) try calling and they experienced the same thing, but assured me the hotel would reach out to me within 48 hours. The only problem is that check-in for my in-laws was in less than 48 hours from the time I made the call. I did finally receive an email from someone at the hotel letting me know that they were having issues with the antenna at the property which is why I couldn't get through but that it had been fixed. Tried calling again, still no answer. Because of the lack of communication, my in-laws showed up at check-in only to find out the resort is cash only. They did not come prepared to pay cash and this stipulation was NOT made clear on the expedia site or on the resort website. My husband had to call and throw a fit to get them to figure out an alternative method for payment. My in-laws had a great time (thank goodness) and said they were very comfortable during their stay, but I am in shock that the hotel does not answer their phone or respond to emails. I would not recommend this resort to anyone solely due to this.
• aurore (4/5): Overpriced hotel - We were so disappointed by this hotel. It is very expensive for Mexico. We really thought we would be in a resort but we cannot call that a resort. Staff not very welcoming. Towels old and with holes. Sheets with lots of spots. The all resort is old. I wouldn't mind all these things but for the price... I would expect much more.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel but cannot find on GPS - It's a nice hotel that is right on the beach, but you can't find it via GPS. Try to get there before sunset, otherwise it is kind of a creepy drive down the unpaved road.
• Jesse (10/5): yucatan 2015 - Awesome place off the grid a little but if thats what you want when on vacation like me PERFECT. Huge condos w kitchens and a wonderful staff will accommodate all your needs. Thanks to Allen for all the help with tours and recommendations on restaurants. If you think the road is bad try drivin in Cleveland or Detroit. Will definitely be back!!!!!!!!!

• Verified traveler (4/5): Nice setting - Pity about the mosquitoes - We reserved a 2 bedroom apartment during New year's 2014-2015 for 3 nights. This was basically a 2 story stand-alone condo. Quite spacious and nice with 2 big bedrooms. The hotel is quite far from Celestun town and you have to drive down a dirt road for 10-15 minutes to get here. Once here late at night, we found that the place had a lot of mosquitoes. Getting out of the car to reception and checking in we were bitten 10's of times. Once inside of the condo, we spend an hour killing mosquitoes and then moved into one bedroom for the rest of the night to avoid having to kill all the mosquitoes inside. Next morning we decided to check out because there were still mosquitoes around in the morning. The setting is nice and peaceful but if you can't even poke your head out because of mosquitoes, you can't enjoy much. This is not an issue with the hotel. It's just the setting is very much in the jungle and that's how it is. We moved down coast to Campeche which was busier but does not have this issue.
• Alberto (4/5): It is not an HOTEL is a rental condo - I was traveling suposing you have the basic hotel services, meals, bar, waiters, attndants. There is absolutely nothing but the nature, Celestún is a beautiful place itself, full of nature and natural atractives enough for make a great place. But is not fair you think you are going to have the services of an hotel. The other thing that is not ok is that you have to pay the stay in CASH and you will not recieve an invoice or a recive. May be if you know all of this before going you will have the right expectative.
• Denise (2/5): low season sorrows - The hotel is not a great distance from the town of Celestun, but because of the condition of the road it takes about 25 minutes to drive into town. When we arrived we were informed that the onsite restaurant was closed because of the low season. We did bring our own water which is required and some food, but this would not be sufficient to feed us for a 2 night stay. Our reserved room had a king and futon but no couch as pictured for the medium sized room when booking. Therefore, we opted to cancel. Possibly during high season this hotel would work, the pool and grounds are beautiful.
