Amber (2/5): Highway roar. Car wash wails. Cigarette ashtray smells. Sketchy characters. Hostile owners - GOOD: location wise you are close proximity to Venice beaches and downtown area. Room was decent. Good water pressure and hot water. BAD: when I checked in with my service dog the son refused to give me a ground floor room - repeatedly referring to my service dog as a “pet” - fellow disabled individuals be aware thanks to the ADA if a hotel refuses to accommodate you - the hotel is breaking the law. Report them to the ADA. Also - just morally disgusting - I am fully aware as an individual with an invisible disability to others you may look healthy - this is ableist discrimination - YOUR EYES ARE NOT ULTRASOUND - so unless you have ultrasound eyes please do not try to tell me I am not disabled. After requesting a quiet room the mother put me across the street from Tommy’s car wash. The hotel is next to a six lane highway, a car wash, and majority staying and working at the hotel smokes cigarettes. Gross. Also. When I went in to request the ground floor room the father was screaming on the phone at a guest who was upset their car or room had been broken into… why not take that call in the office? Unsettling. UGLY: experiencing ableism and discrimination for being disabled and requesting a ground floor room. Ground floor room had a door knob - for the love of god hoteliers and those providing guest accomodations please just install all door levers. Just google door knob disability - door levers provide greater accessibility. I genuinely did not feel safe here. Stayed two nights and I regret not leaving when I arrived. The car wash operates from 7am-8pm. The highway roared 24 hours a day. Guests and staff were chain smokers - the entire grounds smelled like an ashtray. My advice: If you are disabled - do NOT stay here. If you are travelling alone - do NOT stay here If you are not a chain smoker - do NOT stay here Honestly Motel 6 used to be a chain that offered reasonable rates and decent accommodations. Spending over a hundred bucks a night - is a rip off. Nope. Highway noise, car wash noise, cigarette smoke, sketchy environment, felt unsafe, staff were fully aware that I requested a quiet room and refused to offer a room away from the car wash and highway.

It was a great location and the room was nice and clean. I appreciated the coffee in the front office. The bed was small and the dog walking area was not very good.

Was an excellent overnight stop traveling down the coast. Was not luxury but was very comfortable. Was walkable to town and the trail along the inter coastal waterway. They did not have a coffee machine in the room. There was no place in the hotel we were told to be able grab coffee in the morning. Although there was a Dunkin’ close by.

The staff were so helpful, and helped me choose the perfect room. The shower was kind of neat — like the reverse of any shower I’ve been in, but it kept the rest of the bathroom dry (floor in particular). Bed and pillows were perfect. The was some rust in the bathroom, but I’d imagine that’s most places so near the beach.

Whitney (10/5): Motel 6 to the rescue! - We had a wedding weekend in Venice for a family friend and arrived to our VRBO at 10pm with a 4 year old and an elderly 120lb German Shepherd. It was not even livable, it was disgusting. MOTEL 6 TO THE RESCUE!!! I couldn't fathom spending hundreds more dollars on lodging, and this was 3 minutes from the home rental... not exactly what we'd planned for our weekend away, but it was clean and comfortable. Pets stay free. It was an affordable option and the staff was very, very nice!

Idania (6/5): - Paid for a premium room and got a normally room. When asked about it. They said it was unavailable and next time to book through them and we get a discount. The room smelled funny and the smoking section has a man sleeping next to it. Not family friendly.
