• David (10/5): Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Kyoto. - One of the best stays I had in my long trip in Japan. Super helpful owner that gives tailor-made recommendations for your trip. E.g. helped me find a lovely hike away from all the tourist. The house is very pretty, clean and comfortable. It was very thin walls so you sometimes woke up during night. No problem with earplugs though and definitely just a minor inconvenience in comparison to all the positive things with this stay.
• Jacob (10/5): One of my favorite stays in Japan - Everything. The location of the hostel requires a connecting train from Kyoto station, but the walk from that station is under 10 minutes. The location is in a quiet and safe area. Nori, the owner, is the nicest and most accommodating person ever. He was helpful in giving me advice on which attractions to visit and when, as well as good food places near me. He helped me with my laundry and gave me fresh towels every day. The hostel has a very cozy family room area, which people loved to relax in. There was free tea as well as cheap drinks. You can also do your laundry as well which was very helpful during my travels. The toilets are private, and so are the showers. You walk through the courtyard are to get to them making them a tad inconvenient, but I never got wet when it rained and they were always clean. Nori was also accommodating on letting me keep my luggage there after checkout and letting me pick it up later. The fellow visitors were so incredibly friendly and social. It was a pleasure sharing a room with them in the dorms. I was able to make some great friends and memories during my time here. Nothing

Как только мы заехали он сразу показал нам на удобно размечанной карте все достопримечательност - Очень удобно предоставлена вода, пиво и другие напитки по приятной цене. Если не купили в магазине, не нужно никуда идти. Спасибо хозяину за предусмотрительность Если вы хотите приватности то это не то место. Стены очень тонкие и вы будите слышать каждый шаг. Лучше возьмите с собой беруши что бы не слышать разговоры соседей за стеной.

• Tudo Madoumier (10/5): Japan house - Le logement est vraiment super: la cuisine est bien équipée,les boissons chaude mise à disposition sont un vrai plus au vu du froid dehors et la kotatsu aide à se sentir comme à la maison. Une serviette de bain est fournie ainsi qu'un casier à clef dans la chambre. Le maître des lieux fait son maximum pour que chacun se sente bien. Les sanitaires et la douche sont à l'extérieur mais ça ne gêne finalement pas tant que ça; ça apporte un plus à l'expérience.

Our room was close to the street and every now and then the otherwise very quiet street was loud from a speeding car in the middle of the night.

Le lieu est charmant et bien situé. - Le logement est bien placé, il y a le métro à 10 minutes de marche, le marché est également à 10 minutes de marche. Nori qui nous a reçu a été très aimable. Pour accéder aux sanitaires, il faut passer par le petit jardin intérieur. Ce n’est pas du tout gênant sauf pendant la saison fraîche pour les frileux. Mais c’est largement surmontable :)

• Guillaume (10/5): Parfait séjour ! - Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette guesthouse idéalement située pour visiter Kyoto. L’emplacement est vraiment pratique, proche des transports et des principaux points d’intérêt. Les futons sont un vrai point fort : bien épais, confortables et suffisamment grands, même pour une personne d’1m90, ce qui est très appréciable. Le propriétaire était toujours disponible, attentif et prêt à répondre à nos besoins, ce qui a rendu le séjour encore plus agréable 😊 Nous recommandons sans hésiter cette guesthouse et y reviendrons avec plaisir ! • Noemie (10/5): - Location was great, right next to downtown Kyoto and most of the attractions, yet still in a quiet neighborhood and completely safe. My friend and I are both young female travelers and we had no safety concerns and felt totally at home. This is a perfect option if you want a traditional ryokan stay and are on a budget. The guesthouse is clean and the owner is super sweet.

The host is super friendly and can speak good English and is happy to give you advice on your travel The location is around 10mins from the nearby subway station and the main streets for shopping or catering. But there are lots of good local restaurants in this area. The toilets and bath rooms are at outdoor, it would be quite cold in winter

• Natalie (10/5): - What a lovely place to stay. The room was lovely traditional style and we even had a cute little garden. Great location, away from the crowds of Kyoto but still walkable to attractions and easy access to bus and subway for further away spots. Nori at the guest house was so lovely and welcoming, making the place feel homely. He gave valuable tips for our travel plans too. We got soaked wet through and he helped us dry out our clothes, even providing a shoe drier! Japanese technology hey! Clothes washing facilities were also great (and speedy), with plenty of space to hang our clothes. Everything was great!

• Sam (9/5): - The staff were fantastic and very friendly, the owner (sorry I’ve forgotten his name) was exceptionally helpful with giving information for tourists on where was good and not good to visit! The bed was really comfortable and the shared space was calm and relaxing. It felt very authentic. Bedroom was a little cramped and there wasn’t much luggage storage space but this was a non-issue for me.

Consigliatissimo!! - Location meravigliosa, in zona comodissima e tranquillissima di Tokyo, a pochi minuti dalla metro e dal centro turistico. Casa tipica in stile giapponese, molto accogliente e l’oste simpaticissimo, molto alla mano!

• Blits Architect (9/5): - De gastheer Nori was enorm behulpzaam. Een zeldzame persoonlijkheid, die wij niet snel zullen vergeten. Het Guest House is goed georganiseerd en brandschoon. Het Guest House is prachtig en met smaak verbouwd, maar wel gehorig. Niet dat wij daar last van hadden, alle gasten gedroegen zich keurig, maar het is wel iets om rekening mee te houden.

• Nathaniel (9/5): Great location, property, value and the host is nice and attentive. Can't go wrong with this spot - Good location, walking distance to fish market and other areas of Kyoto you will want to visit. Can bike to the Monkey Forest location as well on the west side. but it feels quiet and local around the property itself. Shared shower was really nice (never anyone in it when I needed to use). Super clean everywhere. This is very minor, but if you're staying upstairs you'll have to use the stairs to get to the bathroom downstairs. at night that's a bit of a pain but not a huge deal.
• Tal (10/5): - The staff are some of the most friendly people I’ve ever met, they showed me and other guests around the city and even took us to a festival in a town near by (speak perfect English). The location is right by the castle and about 20 minuets away in bus (bus stops are 4 minuets walk from the hotel) and the area has a lot of restaurants and 7 eleven or family marts. The beds were comfortable, and the room is bigger than most hostels I’ve been to (when considering it has 4 beds which is a plus in my eyes). Definitely coming again next time I’m in Kyoto!!!

• Eva (10/5): Virkelig god oplevelse - Vi har været meget tilfredse med vores ophold. Huset er smukt og autentisk indrettet. Alt er rent og ordentligt. Vi havde et skønt værelse med tatami måtter og papirdøre. Så fint! Stemningen er også god og vi havde en sjov og hyggelig aften sammen med gæster fra andre lande i husets fællesrum. Der er mulighed for at vaske og tørre sit tøj. Vi fik hjælp med vaskemaskinen, hvor alt stod på japansk. Værten taler engelsk, så det er nemt at kommunikere, selvom vi er meget dårlige til japansk.
