• Alex (1/5): Entrar al hotel para ir al baño esta bien, pasar una noche es abusar, aunque si te gusta el peligro y la aventura adelan - La bienvenida de las chinches😍 Increible, me picaron por la noche y no pude resistirme a quedarme más dias. Lo mejor fue cuando me quejé y me mandaron a otra habitación con más chinches! Pedimos soluciones y nos reembolsaron una miseria (no me dio ni para pagar la lavanderia y poder desinfectar la ropa) Si se esfuerzan un poco más me llega para comprar un bollicao en el 7eleven. No tengo texto suficiente para escribir

• HANISAH (6/5): Hotel sederhana. Penyambut tetamu di kaunter perlu ditukar kepada yang lebih mesra. - Bilik di hotel ini adalah sederhana. Berpatutan dengan harganya. Sesuai untuk penginapan yang singkat kerana terletak di bandar. Bilik berbau tidak sedap. Karpet di luar bilik kotor. Iron yang disediakan tidak panas dan perlu ditukar.

• Hui Hui (5/5): 把房间墙壁弄干净点或是重新油漆吧 - -地理位置还可以 -房间算宽敞 -每层楼有饮水机 -房间不懂什么味道有点重，类似消毒药水？？ -很有年纪的酒店，房间墙壁有点脏，灰尘也多 -热水壶看起来都好有年纪，完全不敢用 -别住2楼，窗口开了怕会有人爬进来😂 -车最好停在酒店前或是cctv可以照到的地方 -一觉醒来发现车子的tow hook cover莫名其妙不见😂😂 是要偷车还是要拖车？

• SHAMEMA (9/5): Excellent place for family, good value for money. - The room was big and amazing with an absolutely stunning view of the sea and the other side of Penang. The washroom was neat and clean as well as the room. Overall the service and everything is great, cant stop praising it, one of the best hotels we have been to in the entire tour. Theres nothing i can think of which i didn't like.

• NURUL JANNAH MOKHTAR (9/5): Recommended hotel to stay at Georgetown - Staff peramah. Auntie India+ Aunty Cina tu baik sangat so friendly. Bilik ok nice view. Selesa. Water pressure ok, water temperature dalam bilik air boleh sejuk panas. Selesa untuk 5 orang stay (2 adult, 3 kids). Dekat dengan semua main attraction Georgetown. Boleh requests 1 extra bantal and bayar RM 10 each untuk additional bantal. Untuk bilik ni ada 2 katil queen. Alhamdulillah 2 malam stay takde gangguan yang pelik pelik aman je tidur 😅. Kat luar bilik ada water dispenser senang nak topup air atau buat susu anak. Bau bilik bila masuk tak best ada 1 bau tu tak tau nak describe macamana, hotel management perlu letak air freshener untuk dalam bilik. Dia bukan bau kepam ke apa tapi bau tak best. Water heater pun tak ada cuma jug je boleh letak air. Iron kena share kat luar bilik. Bilik air licin sikit kena hati hati.

• Alisha (8/5): Enjoyable trip for our kids! - Very cosy & comfortable for family. There are eatery shops nearby & the road is not as busy as other streets. Room is spacious for family room, no toilets amenities provided but the equipments are well maintained. Except the aircond temperature suddenly rises itself in the middle of the night. Bed was comfortable & clean sheets. None.

Room Condition (Odors) "As soon as I entered the room, I was overwhelmed by the smell of mold and oil leakage from the boilers. Even with the windows open and wearing a mask, the stench was unbearable. It made me lose my appetite, and after being exposed to it for some time, I began experiencing throat pain, excessive mucus, and a headache. The environment was not only uncomfortable but also unhealthy." 2. Boiler Oil Leakage & Fire Hazard "The hotel has three boilers in the courtyard, and some of them are leaking oil, which has been left unattended for an extended period. The strong smell of oil leakage was persistent, and I couldn't help but feel like the situation was being ignored, perhaps until the insurance claim is processed. This neglectful approach made me very concerned about the potential fire risk." 3. Privacy Issues "The rooms are positioned in a way that makes it easy for guests to see into each other's rooms. There's absolutely no privacy, and it felt like I was constantly being observed. This made it impossible to relax or enjoy my stay." 4. Staff Behavior "The front desk manager promised me a full refund but never followed through. This left me feeling deceived, and the lack of professionalism was disappointing. It felt like a complete disregard for guest satisfaction." 5. Building Condition (Incomplete Renovation) "The hotel is an old building that was poorly renovated. The renovations are incomplete, and the state of the hotel is far from what was depicted in the pictures. It looks run-down and poorly maintained, which is extremely disappointing." 6. Difference Between Photos and Actual Room "The photos on Agoda are completely misleading. The hotel calls itself a boutique hotel due to a few colorful walls and themed photos, but the reality is far from what was advertised. It was a huge letdown." 7. Lack of Amenities "There were no basic amenities like bottled water provided in the room. This is something that should be standard in any hotel, and its absence made the experience even worse." 8. Exorbitant Pricing for Poor Quality "To make matters worse, the price for this awful experience was twice as expensive as what I would expect to pay for such a poor-quality hotel. It feels like a scam – a hotel that tries to appear upscale but offers nothing in terms of quality or service." 9. Summary "My experience at this hotel was a complete disaster. The place was not only uncomfortable but also unsanitary and unsafe. I strongly regret paying for this stay and feel like I’ve been deceived by misleading photos and promises. This hotel is nothing more than a money grab, and I strongly advise anyone to avoid it at all costs." No Excessive Strong Language: While still expressing frustration, it avoids words like "scam" and "haunted house" that could be flagged as offensive or inflammatory. 1. 客室の状態（臭い） 「部屋に入った途端、カビ臭とボイラーからの油漏れの臭いに圧倒されました。窓を開け、マスクを着用していたにもかかわらず、耐え難い臭いでした。食欲がなくなり、しばらくその臭いにさらされていると、喉の痛み、過剰な痰、頭痛に悩まされるようになりました。環境は不快なだけでなく、健康にも悪影響を及ぼしました。」 2. ボイラーの油漏れと火災の危険性 「ホテルの中庭には3台のボイラーがあり、そのうちのいくつかから油漏れが発生しており、長期間放置されていました。油漏れの強い臭いがずっと漂っており、保険金請求が処理されるまで放置されているのではないかと感じました。このような怠慢な対応は、火災のリスクを強く懸念させました。」 3. プライバシーの問題 「客室の配置が、他の宿泊客が互いの部屋を簡単に見渡せるような配置でした。プライバシーは全くなく、常に監視されているような感じでした。そのため、リラックスしたり、滞在を楽しんだりすることができませんでした。」 4. スタッフの対応 「フロントデスクのマネージャーは全額返金を約束しましたが、実際には返金されませんでした。騙されたと感じ、プロ意識の欠如に失望しました。ゲストの満足度を完全に無視されているように感じました。」 5. 建物の状態（未完成の改装） 「このホテルは古い建物で、改装が不十分でした。改装は未完成で、ホテルの状態は写真で見たものとは大きく異なっています。老朽化が進み、メンテナンスも行き届いていないように見え、非常に残念です。」 6. 写真と実際の部屋の違い 「Agodaに掲載されている写真は全くの誤解を招きます。カラフルな壁やテーマに沿った写真がいくつかあるため、ブティックホテルを名乗っていますが、実際は宣伝内容とは大きく異なっていました。本当にがっかりしました。」 7. アメニティの不足 「部屋にはボトルウォーターなどの基本的なアメニティがありませんでした。これはどのホテルでも標準装備であるべきものですが、それがなかったことで、さらにひどい体験になりました。」 8. 質の悪さに法外な料金 「さらに悪いことに、このひどい体験の料金は、このような質の悪いホテルに払うべき金額の2倍も高額でした。まるで詐欺のようです。高級感を装ってはいるものの、質もサービスも何も提供していないホテルです。」 9. 要約 「このホテルでの体験は最悪でした。不快なだけでなく、不衛生で安全でもありませんでした。宿泊費を支払ったことを深く後悔しており、誤解を招くような写真や約束に騙されたような気がします。このホテルは金儲けのためのものでしかなく、絶対に行かないように強くお勧めします

• Siti (9/5): Superb - I like the location. The uncle who in charge for receptionists are very nice. I think they are rich people just to fill in free time. Hihi. Maybe they are the owner of the hotel. 🤣🤣They are very nice person. Hoping they will have good health. Overall i will come back to this hotel if i come to Penang. Price is affordable with the size of the room. Quite spacious for me of you compared to other hotel.

You can smell cigarette smoke everywhere even though they have no smoking signs in public spaces . No toiletries provided, no water provided in the rooms . Staff told us that its a budget hotel but prices don’t reflect that .

• Hannah (2/5): I wouldn’t recommend it at all! - I had a disappointing stay at Hotel Regal Penang due to serious cleanliness issues. - Booking.com shows photos of a restaurant/dining area. However the hotel does not have a restaurant/dining area. - The room had a strong musty and damp smell upon entry. We later discovered the bathroom door frame was covered in mold and webs, which seemed to be the cause. - The chair in the room was in terrible condition—its fabric was ripped off, and it looked like there were dead insects on it. - There was no drinking water provided in the room, which is a basic necessity for any hotel stay. - Some of the front desk staff weren’t very helpful or polite. - When we requested a room change, we were told the hotel was fully booked. Instead, they offered to send someone to clean the room—something that should have been done before guests arrived! Overall, the lack of cleanliness and upkeep made for an uncomfortable experience. Would not recommend unless major improvements are made.
