Guest Reviews
- Briai (6/5): - Nice stay. Price isn’t accurate on site they upcharge when you get there.
- Daniel (4/5): - Very close to wwtr but not worth the closeness
- Lesley (10/5): - K
- Melissa (6/5): - What I didn’t like is that the tv didn’t have all the channels that was on the paper in the room & I think the dirty channel should be locked & if you want to watch it then you have to pay for the channel to be unlocked because, I don’t know if they ever has kids come with their parents.
- Rneau (8/5): - Property was out or the way location
- Trevor (2/5): Unfortunate find for FD STL. - After I finally checked in I went to the room and set my stuff on a table that seemed to be the only clean furniture in the room. The room layout was nice. It did have a refrigerator that was very clean but on the inside only. The bedding had stains and burn holes. One stain did indeed look exactly like a blood stain. There was a chair and a love seat that appeared to be packed with dirt and was obviously covered in overlapping stains. The bathtub was held together with white duct tape. The iron had some kind of substance on the under side of it that ruined my good hat. The floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned and there were cigarette ashes on the floor. There was a party in the parking lot and a party in each room on both sides of room 7(I stayed in room 7). The door to the room had one lock (deadbolt) unoperational. There were two other ways to keep the door shut. I got there just in time to go prepare for my day at the track so I just went and upon my return I wanted a refund for my room. I explained all of this to the man who claimed to be the manager. I was refunded for one day. Not acceptable staff was very angry and disrespectful about asking for a refund.
- Maxine (6/5): - This place is not bad, but during the night, twice, someone was attempting to open every door with a key card. Not sure if they were intoxicated or looking to actively harm someone. This was a bit off putting.
- Jacob (6/5): - It was late and I was tired
- Tom (10/5): - Very nice
- karen (6/5): - Old hotel. Probably OK when 1st built but has sunk to current level.
It does have free parking and easy access to the freeway.
My room smelled of old smoke covered by some sort of cleaning scent. It did get better by the second day.
No In room coffee but the filling station next door had excellent coffee
- NADYA (8/5): - As our initial accommodation booking cancelled last minute, we were glad to get this booking.
Basic room: clean, antique furniture, comfy beds, good storage space, powerful warm shower,
Working microwave, refrigerator, television, WiFi temperamental
- melissa (6/5): - Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean, however outdated, furniture held with duct tape and no mention of a security deposit on the website but once you arrive they inform you of one. Only 4 tv channels worked.
- Ernest (8/5): - What you would expect from a cheap hotel but the owners work on site and they make sure all is clean and usable.
- Letonjalyn (10/5): - It was a good trip check in was fast and room are very clean
- Bobbi (6/5): - Na
- Rachael (8/5): - Clean room's. Very quiet.
- Desiree (2/5): Used condom on floor - The room is out of date and dingy the staff is extremely rude and the next morning I found a used condom on the floor against the bed but it was the location that I needed
- Lindsey (4/5): - When I arrived, the room with a jaccuzzi I had booked was not available and I had to accept a regular room instead. I was told it would be cheaper, but instead was charged more than the initial reservation.
- Richard (2/5): - They did not have our reservation. Thank God they didnt because the place was a mess. Looked like low rent housing and a large fight was going on in the parking lot. We move on.
- Angie (4/5): A NO GO - Customer service was good but the room had somebodys underwear hanging over the shower curtain when i walked in. Only antenna tv provided by a hanger on the back of the tv, and bugs.
- Jimmy (10/5): - Great management good housekeeper home away from home
- Shawn (2/5): - Spiders in the bathtub, ceiling fan didn't work, bloodstained mattress, hadn't been dusted in a while. Called the desk and was told i couldn't get a refund
- Jessica (6/5): - Our room had multiple dead bugs on the table, sink counter, and in bathroom. We had a non-smoking room but it shared a door with a smoking room which defeated the purpose. The beds were very broken down and caved in the middle. The motel is in desperate need of an upgrade.
- Luke (2/5): - Spiders in the sink drain. Nothing close to it except highway and one store. Desk reception pretented to barely speak English so he charge me 10 dollars more than my reservation with Expedia said would be.... And room smelled gross. And that's coming from someone who's spend over 2 weeks riding around country on a harley.... Avoid this place
- LeTonjalyn (10/5): Nice hotel good price - Welcomed by the staff .very nice guy helpful and patient..room very clean and towels has a microwave and fridge a plus and quiet .there's also a gas station near property
- Byannckah (6/5): - It was as expected for the price. Don’t stay during the races or you’ll have a heck of a time getting to your room!
- Jacob (8/5): - Cheap..convenient. ...place to stay visiting World Wide Technology Raceway
- Josh (8/5): - Check in was a bit complicated. I’m assuming he wasn’t used to finding bookings from here. However he was super friendly. The room was a bit dated, but was very clean and comfortable.
- Mark (8/5): - A little run down roof leaks in stairwell
- Shawnya (2/5): - Someone screwed up big time because my reservation was supposed to be for St Louis and come to find out it was for Fairmont and Illinois or something so someone needs to refund my money
- Nathan (2/5): Bed Bug Inn - My father and I woke up itching only to discover we were both covered in bed bugs. We both have bumps and welts on our sides and arms. We were able to get a new room but not any of our money back or even a discount on our two night stay. Now have to make an additional trip on our vacation to the nearest pharmacy to get cream for all the bites.
- Charco (4/5): - I get it it’s just ten dollars but this place keeps my deposit every time after saying I would get it back after my stay I filed a dispute first time and my bank fixed it but after going back to this place a couple times again i noticed that they are doing this still
- Tyler (4/5): Hotel needs help! - This place needs some serious help. The bed was actually very comfy...otherwise it would be 1 star. There was only one roll of TP for a 4 day stay. They begrudgingly gave another roll when asked. The people running the place have pretty much zero customer service skills. All in all the hotel needs to be refurbished...it is VERY run down. Nice bed and close to St Louis but those are the only positives unfortunately. 😐
- Dennis (4/5): - key to room didn't work half time, they charged me for room again after I payed online,so payed $235 dollers second time.Never go back again.
- Robert (8/5): - Analog tv programming didn’t provide good picture quality. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Convenient to WWT Raceway.
- Michael (2/5): Not very nice - Rude as can be.
- Kerry (8/5): Clean friendly safe - Very accommodating and friendly staff. Room was a little outdated, but clean, and beds were super comfy. Pillows were super squishy and 1 per person did not do the job. Not our favorite place but was our best option and we slept great.
- Joshua (8/5): - Nice 👍👍👍
- LeTonjalyn (10/5): - Alway on time to check in very polite and friendly
- Jerry (6/5): - The location
- Holden (2/5): - Not trying to be a standard bad review but seriously, do not stay here, there were cockroaches all around the room including on one of the beds under the pillows, everything is taped back together, including the toilet seat and mirror. And to top it off i checked in at 2am and the guy at the counter tried to give me attitude because he had to wake up to help me and then told me i had reservation while i was clearly looking at a confirmation email. Dont waste your time in money, Sleeping in the car would be a better option
- james (8/5): - Decent hotel for the price. Rooms were clean, lot was well lit and its a convenient location to the racetrack. Don't be afraid of the surroundings or slightly sketch gas station.
- Andrew (4/5): Don’t stay at the First Western Innn. - The ceiling fan did not work nor the telephone. The remote on the TV would not fully work. We told the people at the hotel about these things and they said “oh we know”.
- Jayne (10/5): - Great locstion for ehere ee going
- LeTonjalyn (10/5): Good Price - Love tha management very nice and the stay was quiet and very clean room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, basic , had trouble understanding clerk
- LeTonjalyn (10/5): Very Clean rooms for the price - Quick check in very nice..very clean room smell good bathroom clean also..
- James (8/5): Not bad - Small site but clean & comfortable
- Christopher (8/5): - Great location, great price, clean, no issues, neighborhood is safe, gast station connected to it.... overall i was pleasantly surprised and would stay again
- Laquesha (10/5): - We had the king studio and it was actually in excellent condition for a really good price. Very convenient especially since it's connected to a gas station that literally has everything you need! Staff could be a little more welcoming but overall we really enjoyed ourselves
- Angelyn (6/5): - Rude front desk
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really cute Inn. Easy to find off the highway.
- Eric (2/5): Terrible - It was the worst place I ever stayed at and terrible host
- Alan G (6/5): - It is close to the dragstrip so it was perfect for what I needed
- Mya (2/5): - Staff is not helpful.
- Henry (10/5): A nice play to stay just a day. - Its a nice place to stay after a all day party and riding a bike
- Melissa (8/5): - I just needed a place to crash outside of St Louis and this was perfect. A little noisy because of the trains and not in a great area that inspires safety, but clean enough and no issues with check in or check out (I left at 6am). Could have been cheaper for the quality but they were open and taking reservations after the scamdemic almost ran places like this out of business so its cool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everyone was very nice and we will come back and stay again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We arrived at 2am in St. Louis Mo. After traveling 3 hours and 47 down the highway from Kansas City Mo. It was explained upon our arrival that the room reservation was made in travel. Due to the check in policy we were not allowed to check into the room upon our arrival. Room also was not cleaned and ready anyway. Was asked to come back later that day of August 7th at 2:00pm. Upon our return at 2:00pm,the room was still not clean or ready. We asked to return at 4:00 pm. From frustration and impatience building while sitting outside. We chose to go and sit in the lobby. Our room was given to us free of charge for the night, were only charged half of the requested security deposit also.
- Dr. Derrick (2/5): Don't subject your family to this shoddy tenement! - This was the lower end of Mom & Pop motels. First, the manager said he needed to keep a copy of my ID for 3 years, but he showed me how method of keeping guests' ID photocopies and it wasn't secure at all. He has them bundled with a rubber band under the desk. I explained to him that he shouldn't keep such valuable information unsecured like that.
Next, the stairs to the upper floor are likely to be code violations for sure as they're both trip and structural hazzards. Someone will hurt themselves. Then room was kinda clean. No, it was tidy, but not 'clean'. Everything had stains; the room was a petri dish. The bed spread smelled like bad body odor as did the blank underneath. The sheets were clean at least. I ended up sleeping under the sheets with a towel draper over me for warmth. This is pathetic.
Then there's the floor drain in the bathroom that smelled of sewage. I can only presume there is no P-trap connected so sewage gasses were in the bathroom.
Last but not least, the TV's cable connection was so poor, every few minutes, the screen froze and showed an error message about possible connection issues with the satellite dish. Seriously, I couldn't even watch TV!
If I had known that real hotels were just 10 minutes up the road, I surely would have gladly paid more for a clean room and a TV and working cable or satellite channels. Very disappointing...
- Henry (8/5): Nice motel for your money - Its a ok motel. Its affordable. The rooms are nice. Area is not to bad. I stay again if I come again.
- debrad (2/5): - Nasty
- Monique (2/5): - I didn't get a chance to use my reservation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Upon entering the room, the door had to remain open, and the window as well. There was a very strong odor of marijuana. The small sofa in the sitting area of the room was stained. Couldnt sit on it. There were dryed paint splotches on the bed. The pillows were flat and very uncomfortable. On top of the room conditions, there was a $10 deposit added to my bill that had not been discussed in advance. The free wifi is non existent. The poor staff is tired and not at all pleasant. The best part of my stay was the checking out. Will definitely not be staying or recommending.
- Tracy (2/5): Worst no tell motel in history. - When we arrived the front office was dirty and had a very foul odor (smelled of fecal matter). The office staff was very rude and unfriendly. When we got in our room my husband turned on the T.V. it was PORN. I would have felt very bad if this would have been a family with kids. The bed was hard as rock the pillows were very flat. Oh, and they charged $10.00 for the use of a key that was returned after our stay.Half of the TV channels didn't work. The jetted tub was held together with white tape.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean and spacious but showed signs of its age.
Overall is was a good experience.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was quiet during the night, the location is literally a hop off the interstate, and there’s a 24 hour gas station next to this motel. These things are all positive for me...but I wouldn’t have paid $79 to stay here again. Maybe it’s worth $50. I guess I didn’t realize that smoking was allowed in the rooms, it smelled so bad of cigarette smoke, but that was my fault for not checking. There were dead bugs in the light fixtures. The top covers had holes, they look like those covers from the 80s so that’s probably why. Seemed to have been flooded at some point. The bedside lights were not in working order. The towels and sheets were clean but the mattress was badly stained. I guess I shouldn’t expect more from a cheap place at the very last minute though. But me personally, I hated it. But if you want to just pull over off the highway to get in a night of sleep it’s perfect for you. Not a place I felt comfortable just hanging out with my kids though
- Amanda (2/5): - Front deck was a mess and room was ok
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Poor service found ticks in room it smelled an had water marks like if it had been flooded
- LeTonjalyn (10/5): Good Service - Easy check in very nice and pleasent..room very clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - They charge me more than the price that's on the website of expedia
- Susan (10/5): Good stay for a cheap price - Excellent roadside stop, right off the freeway, through one stop sign and you’re in the parking lot. Has a gas station mini-mart in the same parking lot. Motel is simple but well finished and clean. The staff is minimal, but are there if you need them. Good budget stay. Recommend.
- Dave (6/5): - It says that their pet friendly and then they charge me $10 a night because I had a pet every side whether it’s Expedia booking Travelocity they all say pet friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the low price you still get everything you need and it seemed safe and clean so that's all we really care about. Plus a comfy bed and premium TV channels are always a plus!
- LeTonjalyn (4/5): Loud Neighbors!!! - The people n the room next to us was yelling at each other and slaming doors ..half of the night made it very hard to sleep..overall the room was clean and the workers was nice.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The staff accused my family of having extra people in our room and shut off our key cards
So when we returned after a long hot day of sight seeing. We could not get in our room. They were not nice people. They told us they had cameras watching to see how many people stayed in our room,we told them to check again. It was completely unnecessary and inconvenient after a long day.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Real review, read till the end. - You get what you pay for. Dated rooms but mostly clean. People who run it aren't very good, made many mistakes (was told later the guy who ran it wasn't there the day I checked in, that's why). Spoke to a guy who was staying there with his race car/trailer, he has stayed there many many times because he races cars at the nearby Gateway raceway, he said its usually a good spot and cheap. So here is the deal, it's cheap, clean enough, easy highway access, quite at night, area was a bit rough but not bad- its good for what it is. Also has 24hr has station next door which is nice if you need stuff. Would not recommend for snowflakes or uppity families, those people can't deal with the reality of the world. I would probably stay again because I knew what I was getting and it worked well for me and all the people in my group of 6.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - You get what you pay for!
Beds were very comfy, and location was great.
I wouldn’t suggest walking around at night. Cars from the drag races were loud at night.
- Sabrina (2/5): Mold , dirty , rude owners . So awful - This was the worst experience ever on my birthday week. The guy would NOT refund my money and made me stay in a room that wouldnt lock in the ghetto. It was so dirty bugs all over i had red bumps all over me now! I have plenty of pictures ans videos it was the nastiest motel i ever seen i cant believe hotels.com even would work with this hotel. I might not be using this app anymore . Alot of fire hazzards and danger in room and on property.
- Lashawn (2/5): - I canceled the revelation and went to a different location they were selling drugs and prostituting in the parking lot
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Comfortable enough, but nothing more than a place to sleep and shower for the next day. No frills, but I wasn't expecting much and it lived up to what I expected. Not a family stop. And watch out for the one crazy TV channel... Wasn't expecting free porn.
- Richard (8/5): Gateway motor closes - Was old but ok close to racetrack
- LeTonjalyn (10/5): Reasonable place to stay - Nice and clean ..at a good rate
- Verified traveler (4/5): - FOUND DUE TO COST & VICINITY FOR JUST A BED TO SLEEP. WHEN CALLING TO MAKE RESERVATION, THE ASSOCIATE WAS RUDE & HUNG UP ON ME. ROOM WASN'T SPOTLESS, BUT WASN'T FILTHY - THOU SMELLED TERRIBLE (LIKE WEED). WON'T UTILIZE AGAIN.
- STEVEN (4/5): - It was ok if all you want is a place to sleep. Room was smelly. No amenities.
- Louis (6/5): Hotel - Hotel itself was okay, right next to a gas station. Room was nice but had no extras inside (you only receive shampoo), bathroom could have been cleaner. Towels were dirty with stains
- Richard (6/5): Straighforward place to sleep - It is what it is, a place to stop and sleep. Off an interstate exit so convenient for through travelers. Clean, but a bit tired, the staff are working hard to make a go of it and were kind and thoughtful. It provides adequate if minimal accomodation.
- Susan (8/5): - The hotel from the road looked run down, but the room was clean and comfortable.. fridge microwave and comfortable bed.
- sudhir (4/5): - need crazy improvement. bathroom door cannot locked, mosquito inside.
- shelbyo634 (2/5): TERRIBLE - Do not stay here. When you forget items in your room the staff keeps them. When I tried to contact the front desk they hung up the phone when I tried to contact them about said lost items. Terrible service and terrible morality.
- Jessica (10/5): Very clean and Quite!!! - Very clean room and looked just like the picture of the room I was staying in. Great location from the Arch and other things Down Town St. Louis about a 10 min drive from it all. Very nice people working there and very clean and quite which was very nice. I would stay there again for sure!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ok just ti much improper noise but otherwise was ok near everything i wanted
- Verified traveler (8/5): - What i like is that i was close to the stores and the museum
- Verny (6/5): - The towels had hairs in them and stains. Other than that decent rooms to stay forthe night
- LeTonjalyn (8/5): Last min stay - It was ok ...and somewhat quiet can hear all of my neighbors phone conversation..but the room was clean and staff was okay
- Margaret (6/5): Area not so good, bed fine, tired and slept well, - close to highways, was very tired so just slept and left was quiet
- Donna (8/5): - It's very clean . I was closer to where we was planning on going. Good service
- Civic (2/5): - Some one took a dump in are room and clogged the toilet y we were gone the smell was horrendous and when we asked them to plunge It they refused said they had no plunger
- Christine (10/5): Great place! - Stay at this location quite often and always have a pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Neighbor Hood was kinda ruff, don't think I would stay with kids. Staff was ok, room was clean.
