Guest Reviews
- Lucas (2/5): - The air conditioning did not work. I told front desk but they gaslit me saying the room was cold. Not sure why they’re just not upfront about the AC.
- obada (8/5): - Not bad
- katie (10/5): - Clean
Good location
Cheap
- Keith (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Ok for a solo stay for a night but I wouldn't want to be here much longer, rather small to say the least
- Antonia (10/5): - Air conditioning was great and location great for conference- felt very safe staying on my own .
- Kelvin (10/5): - The hotel is very close to the metro, buses and trams. The hotel is basic but when you're in Budapest, you don't want to spend too long in the hotel. The shuttlebus was very convenient and the staff were very attentive. Great value for money.
- Calum (10/5): - Overall, excellent stay. Hotel does exactly what it says it will. Cheap and cheerful.
Great location, right next to a metro station and lots of bus and tram routes.
Very clean and very friendly staff whenever I interacted with them. If you're looking for a straightforward place to rest after long days of seeing the sights of Budapest it is an ideal place to stay.
Very easy to access at all times due to proximity to metro / transport.
Staff extremely friendly and very helpful with directions and tips for the city! Would recommend cheking out some of the nearby restaurants, a really great mix.
For reference, the hotel is about half way between the City Centre / Riverside and the Heroes Square / City Park - ideal location! A 15 minute walk either way (or just a few minutes on the metro taht connects all).
- yo (4/5): - Very small space super expensive breakfast. 3 eggs for 7euro. Not very clean. Just overall bad
- peeter (8/5): So and so! - First thing first: very friendly and welcoming stuff! I got most help, considering parking. Means: they changed me enough coins daily, as parking system is awkward, cheap , but not sensible at all. And it needs coins! Lots of coins! Hotel itself was just average, not too soundproof. So on one side somebody was talking loudly 24/7 and the other neighbors practiced reproduction activities several times a night and I was involved somehow. Breakfast: pretty good in next door, location was perfect for my needs, but parking is frustrating like in all Budapest. use taxis instead! Negative: my room ws never cleaned in 3 days!
- Philip (8/5): - The positives, helpful staff, clean room.
Negatives, small bathroom ( but great shower), and the air con that doesn't work.
Overall I'd stay here again.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Solid hotel. Would stay again
- Marcus (4/5): - Stayed in £4 a night hostels cleaner than this place. Hairs all in the bedding, suggesting that this hadn’t been cleaned. Paper thin walls, can hear your neighbours clear as day. Dirty used toilet brushes in the bathrooms. Location was perfect. The rooms were, as expected, Tiny. But with massive wide hallways, seems like such a waste of space.
- Hussam (6/5): - The shower are is kind of little both that you can’t move or turn around when taking a shower!
- Istvan (10/5): - Location
- Huw (10/5): - I arrived at 5:00 in morning, due to a delayed flight, and had no problem checking in. The room was what I expected from an Easyhotel, comfortable for the price. Location was great for the M1 metro line or a 20 minute walk to the main shopping area.
- Francis (10/5): - Excellent location. Room was adequate for a 3 night stay. Close to public transport options and some local restaurants and pubs. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Sheila (10/5): - Very central to everything
- Clifford George (2/5): - So this hotel or hostel whatever you wanna call it. It’s definitely not a hotel, half of the receptionists unless it was you spending money on the coffee they charge you for which is ridiculous give you attitude if you ask them any questions related to them needing to do extra work out of just standing behind the counter. Any normal hotel has complimentary coffee. They also charge you extra for your room to be clean after staying for almost 10 days after they said your long stay gets 1 day of cleaning (only 1). I also put the door handle for my towels/toilet paper and garbage to be taken/replaced twice and they never replaced my towels even but put the paper hanger back in my room…so unprofessional.
The room was tiny and did not look like the pictures..the bed is on a wooden box which looks like a camping shanty bed frame.
If you are traveling to Budapest book a hotel that’s worth it or just go and book at a hostel and pay half the price of this place you’ll have a better shower and toiletries cause this place doesn’t even give you properly containers of shampoo or conditioner for your shower.
Don’t recommend don’t waste your time.
This was my first time to Europe and the hotel was extremely disappointing I canceled my last day and wasn’t able to even get a refund just ridiculous.

RoomsRooms are way to small and smell after a couple days and they don’t offer to clean unless your going to be charged the same rate as the ro
- Judy (10/5): - Very good staffs, excellent transportation
I will stay there again
- MUHAMMAD (10/5): - Staff was very helpful
- WOOTAE (4/5): - 청소상태 불량 수건교환 잘안됨
- Nick (10/5): - Great location within walking distance to almost all of the major attractions. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful with a drop off luggage area before check in. Rooms are small and bathroom is tight but that is to be expected with the pictures and descriptions, I didn’t spend a lot of time in it other than sleeping so was perfect for me.
- Lynn (6/5): - Staff is so unfriendly!!!
- stephen (2/5): - This place was very misleading,i thought i was getting a normal hotel, the whole room was the size of a bery small bathroom,no air conditioning it was a horrible experience
- Vahy W (10/5): - Great place to stay , we stayed two weeks in this charming hotel close to transport and staff very gracious .
- Mark (8/5): Brilliant location - Arriving into Budapest Keleti and feeling like being in a film set or being a Habsburg poor relation I found the transfer by bus to this hotel simple and quick. It is in a brilliant location, one block from Oktogon where trams, metro and buses are in abundance. Getting to and from the glam parts of Budapest was so very easy. My room was typical easyhotel, tiny but clean and functional. Didn't particularly enjoy ground floor as I felt I needed to keep the blind down though. Only other drawback, an annoying 5 steps up and down to reception, and again to the part of the hotel I was in. Otherwise worked very well for a first time traveller to Budapest. Good eating nearby and shops for all the things you need while travelling.
- Oliver (8/5): - Small, but comfortable room. No frills, what you’d expect from an ‘Easy’ hotel
- Mohammed Kashif (8/5): - Good
- TODD (4/5): - Noisy small place with loud drunks, bathroom sink plugged!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Less than expected - Some of the staff was super friendly and helpful and others not so much. It’s older. They only have two heating systems so they had not turned it into summer yet, so my room was super hot all the time. Walls are thin, can hear the neighbours
- Leyla (10/5): - I loved the location. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel staff was friendly and courteous. I would stay here again!
- Agnes (10/5): - Staff is really nice, welcoming and accommodating! My plane was 4 hours late, so I arrived 3 am in the morning and the kindly offered that I can check out at 11 instead of the standard 10 am, so that I have more time to rest and recover. Didn’t use the nice gesture as I had commitments in the morning, nevertheless this unexpected kindness really made my day. Thanks
- Alan (8/5): - Location is great, if you have the energy most things are walkable if not public transport is close by. Budget hotel that provided a comfortable bed.
- Chuck (6/5): - The room is tiny, good enough for one person. It’s very clean, comfy bed. But my prob was the AC not working and even in October, it’s still hot during the day. It was hard for me. You can’t beat the price in a good location. It’s also quite & offers free tea.
- Francisco (10/5): Great place - lovely place to stay in Budapest, friendly staff, clean and quiet place. hotel is Near to restaurants and public transportation, very easy to move around Budapest City.
- Anton (8/5): - Minimal as advertised
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, very close to the train station and metro, although Budapest is not very big. The room is a bit smaller than the usual size, but the price is reasonable, and for solo traveler, it served the goal well.
- Michael (10/5): Excellent - It was perfect for what I wanted and was in a great location
- Stuart (8/5): - We booked a double room but it was actually a single room with a double bed in it up against the wall.
Bed was comfortable.
Very convenient to the Octogon.
They have free bag storage
Good value for money
- Georgia (4/5): Basic stay - It would have been nice if the room was cleaned daily, rather than just had new towels out in
- R N (10/5): - Did the job and was handy for the station
- shao (10/5): - Great location, Easy access to subway trams buses, Friendly staff easy to deal with. Stay 9 nights.
- Nicole (8/5): Pleasant stay in a no frills room - They let me check in 2 hours early!
Thomas was extremely helpful during my stay, found me ice for my sore knee, promptly helped with my AC, directions whenever I needed. Had a smile on his face the whole time!
The room is small so good for a solo traveller, excellent location in terms of using local transit. Comfy bed.
Shower had good pressure but the whole floor was wet after, the shower floor is not sunken enough.
- James (6/5): - Here's what detracted from tge score. The air conditioner was essentially useless. I'm talking in excess of 8 hours to go from 77°F to 75°F with the unit on high.
The thermostat is too low in the wall. Unles your 4'6" you have to bend down to see it, but also use a flashlight because the LCD screen isn't backlit
Although the shower was too small, I've been in smaller once or twice. I'm 5'8 and weigh 150lbs. Thin.
The water was hot and had great pressure though.
Don't complain about the room being tiny, they disclose the size before you book.
Good location to access g what I think is downtown.
I would consider staying again, but definitely consider others
- Rachel (10/5): - Clean and quiet. Great for our two nights in Budapest. Close to the train station and subway. Easy to get to popular sites. The best Indian restaurant is in the neighborhood. Overall, we loved our stay.
- Sara (10/5): - Great value hotel. The bed was confortable and the staff were always very helpful and spoke Spanish. The internet connection was not very good
- Patrick (10/5): - The staff were really freindly and the locstion was perfect
- Francisco (6/5): - Este hotel está bien para pasar una noche o dos no más de ahí, tiene solo lo básico.
- Brian (8/5): - Great location - convenient to transportation and easy walking distance to attractions.
Be prepared for a VERY small room, including tiny shower space.
- Agnes (10/5): - City centre locatio, perfect for an overnight stay
- Vincent (10/5): - Perfect little hotel for price. Room is small but that’s all I really needed. Very convenient location near public transportation, making it easy to get around. Overall, would highly recommend, especially for solo travelers.
- Michael (10/5): - Very nice helpful staff
- Danielle (8/5): - Helpful and friendly staff, great location
- Harriet (8/5): Solo traveller to Budapest - I stayed as a solo traveller and found the staff friendly and helpful and the location perfect. The room was basic but comfortable, I got what I paid for. The only issue I had was that the room could have been cleaned better, as there were dirt marks on the wall next to the bed.
- Dóra (10/5): - Good price for an overnight stay, close to the tram and metro line. Friendly staff as always.
- David Scott (10/5): - Staff was great!
- David (10/5): EasyHotel yes please. - Very clean and welcoming hotel Adam was very helpful and polite and professional.
Nothing wrong with the room again clean with everything that you need for a short stay in Budapest. Easy to get around from this here to all the best places you want to visit
- Sophie (10/5): Great location, simple - Great hotel, amazing location! Really friendly helpful staff. Comfy to sleep and quiet
- Epeli (10/5): Love Budapest - A good place in a good location that is quite central to everything and has a lot of shops nearby.would definitely recommend this place
- Maccarrone (10/5): - Simple and cheap all what I need. Also great welcoming from the reception and very good located.
- Dóra (10/5): - Hotel was okay, room is simple, good price. It was not the first time to choose this hotel for overnight stay. Bed was comfortable.
The hotel is a few minutes walk from metro and tramline. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I had lots of luggages, the storage option was very helpful.
- Ruslan (8/5): A short stay in Budapest - The hotel was ok for its price, especially taking into account the convenient location near Oktagon. Wi-fi worked fine. The two particular problems that I encountered were partially clogged sink in the show and lack of sewing kits in the reception.
- David (8/5): it's worth if you're on a budget - Personnel was friendly and very helpful and spoke decent English. Room and bathroom are very small, but the great location of the hotel and great attitude of the staff make up for it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We come back every year. Perfect place for the price.
- George (10/5): Very nice and helpful staff - This hotel is well located and the staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. One day when it rained I was lent an umbrella. This was very useful as it rained frequently that day. My only complaint was the fact that I could hear guests from neighbouring rooms.
- Sash (8/5): - Overall this was a clean, secure and conveniently located hotel! I payed hardly anything for this trip and was pleasantly content with what I had payed for! My only criticism would be that the walls were very thin (if you’re a light sleeper pack earplugs) and the duvet was TINY!! It must have being a single duvet for a double bed! In summer I can imagine this isn’t an issue and the small size didn't bother me either! In conclusion it’s great for what you pay for and I would stay in another branch if I wanted a cheap break away again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - On for one night but couldn’t stay any longer. Room and bed too small. But the room was very clean and the staff are great.
- Kyle (8/5): Two days in Budapest - A friend and I stayed in the small Double room, I would recommend your Close with the person you’re staying with because the room is very small. However they have plenty of storage and selves to put your thing to make the room feel less cluttered. The bathroom is also quite small but the room was the perfect Price for a weekend in Budapest.
- Megan (10/5): - Easy Hotel was actually a great experience. Simple and inexpensive but everything you need, nothing you don’t. My only issue was that both nights we stayed, no matter what we did to the temperature or the thermostat, around 1-2am the room was so hot that we needed to basically be awake and take the blankets off. I don’t know where the heat was coming from, but it was bad. Other than that, location, customer service and comfort were great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel! - It was clean and comfortable and the staff was super nice and helpful
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Situated in a beautiful building in a very central area with lots of shops and restaurants around.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great prices and location near downtown and public transportation. The staff at this hotel are some of the most friendly and helpful at any hotel we have ever visited. The hotel is very clean and a better bargain can't be found!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location, secure, excellent value for money
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property was just normal. Clean rooms but very basic. Only certain members of staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall stay was ok.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great quality for the price. Basic but provide what you need of just want somewhere to touch base for a few days
- simo (8/5): Nice budget hotel - Good place to stay and visit Budapest. Budget hotel but all fine. Key card system need updating though. Locked me out several timed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ok for short stay, service & facilities average for what you are paying for
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a fantastic stay at Easy Hotel Oktogon.
Oktogon, is close to what ever you want, Synagoge is 20 to half an hr walk. Same for St Stephen Church, and Hungary Nation Museum.Shops and places to eat there are a lot.
Freedom Square you can walk as well, but Public Transport is very very good.
Staff at the hotel were fantastic , they helped me a lot since am a 75 years old and travelled on my own.
Thank you all for a fantastic holiday in Hungary.xx
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Had to move room half way through our stay which wasn’t a problem except the next room was much smaller, felt a bit claustrophobic.
- Yildiz (10/5): - It was good . Thanks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I’ll start off by saying this property has a very good location and is very affordable. The room was clean when I checked in and the staff was very friendly and attentive as well.
The down sides are a few things however. My room was very very small (I knew it was to be small going in but I didn’t realize it was that small), the rooms are very affordable but they nickel-dime you on a lot of things you normally expect to be in your price. Want to watch your rooms TV, there’s a fee. You want your room cleaned, there’s a fee. You want new linens in your room, there’s a fee. You get the idea. I’d say this place is good if you’re going to stay a night in Budapest, but if you’re going to stay several nights you’re probably going to want your trash emptied and fresh towels occasionally.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Basic but all you need. Staff nice. Rooms lack any sort of amenities. Local area has an uneasy feel to it but hotel feels very secure. Would be nice if staff told you more about local areas, I.e areas to find restaurants bars etc
- Val (2/5): - Nobody cleans your room, its dark and it doesn’t fit two people, only if one is at the bed and the other standing up.
- Jack (8/5): - Got what i paid for so no complaints from me . Public transport was very handy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was basic but has everything you could need. The bed and bathroom are incredibly clean, and we were provided with towels, extra pillows and a spare quilt.
- Darby (10/5): Good for solo travel. - It was a great stay. Its a real hotel in a great location. I booked the smallest cheapest room for just me and it was comfortable. The a/c was enjoyable for me. The room had all the things I needed but they do want you to pay for some extra things, but they were flexible and helpful with that. I would recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, couple minutes walk from metro and tram. Extremely clean. Air con. Friendly and helpful staff. Get what you pay for.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic, clean and central to the city centre. It's an EasyHotel so you only get what you've paid for, anything else is extra. For a couple of nights or a long weekend it's perfectly adequate, definitely not for longer stays.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Floors were absolutely discussing had to wear socks the entire time because stuff from the floor would get on my feet, hairs all over the bathroom, dust about an inch or two thick on top of the shelves/closet. Room stays HOT
- Karis (10/5): Budapest short stay - The hotel is so nice! Perfect for a short stay in Budapest! Has everything you need and staff are really helpful!
Obviously it’s basic but we weren’t spending much time in the room so not an issue has a bed and a bathroom all you need for a short stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - ..........
- Cristina (8/5): - It has an excellent location, I didn't like the shower as the water didn't drain fast enough an d ended up flooding the entire bathroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A very affordable room but was very clean and comfortable. Front desk is 24/7 and everyone was very friendly! Great location too.
- David (8/5): - Good little hotel okay for the price... Very compact but usable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, staff on reception very helpful. Good quiet area.
- Maxine (8/5): Lovely location - Great little hotel in a really great location once you find your bearings good little bars in the same street our favourite was the rabbit hole
- Verified traveler (4/5): uncomfartable - good location but not clean bedding.
all extra charge.
uncomfortable stay :(
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff
Great value for money
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean basic hotel in great location only couple minutes walk to vibrant centre
