Arriving early from our final drive, we were thrilled to drop our bags at reception while we explored the nearby area—no hassle, just helpful vibes from the start. The motel room itself was surprisingly spacious and spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a comfy overnight: a very comfortable bed, tea and coffee-making facilities, a handy microwave, and a fridge for our snacks. But the real standout? That super shower—piping hot, powerful pressure, and pure bliss after weeks on the road. Most importantly, the on-site washing and tumble dryer facilities were a godsend for our laundry admin. They’re well-maintained, efficient, and great value for money—perfect for travelers like us. Owner Jeff was the cherry on top. No on-site restaurant? No problem—he eagerly recommended local gems, pointing us to Avondale (about a 20-30 minute walk away). We went on a Tuesday and devoured their fantastic steak deal—100% recommend! They even offered a free pick-up back to the motel. How thoughtful is that? Location-wise, it’s spot-on for Christchurch Airport. Our early flight was before the standard shuttle, so we happily paid $15 for Jeff to drive us well ahead of check-in time—stress-free and friendly. Thanks heaps, Jeff, for your top-notch hospitality. We’d book again in a heartbeat—highly recommend for airport convenience and genuine Kiwi warmth! Absolutely nothing 👍

This was the second time I stayed here when I stayed here the first time it was great the room was very spacious and it was excellent that's why I thought I would stay here agian. I wouldn't stay here again not after getting a small room. It's not good.

• James (10/5): Good old fashioned excellent facilities and service. - I told the hotel that I would arrive after midnight and I received precise instructions on how to collect my room key from a key box. The hotel is close to the airport, $23 for a late night journey from the airport by Uber. The hotel is set far enough back from a main road that traffic noise is not an issue. My room was immaculately clean. Towels and bedding were very nice and the room had a kettle, micro wave and fridge. The hotel mini bus dropped me at my car rental office near the airport in the morning. I would happily use this hotel again. I commend the Airways Motel to you. Thank you for excellent service. There is absolutely nothing you could criticise.

• DEVLIN (10/5): I will be returning back for sure - I was surprised how quiet the area was. Being right next door to the Z Petrol Station was useful for those last minute needs. The staff were very friendly. The one room apartments had plenty of light and space. Being so close to the airport which was a bonus meant being far from town and it would be useful if you had a car rental
