Guest Reviews
- Wendy (9/5): Lovely hotel, well looked after and staffed by very friendly, efficient people. - Perfect location for the theatre. Wonderful staff and an excellent breakfast. The shower wasn’t very powerful
- Jane (10/5): - Was in the city centre so close to everything hotel was beautiful staff lovely Nothing
- McEvoy (10/5): Friendly staff and a comfortable stay. - Quaint, clean, homely hotel with a real family feel. We came to Hull to see a show and the hotel stay made it a memorable experience. Great food too!

- Julie (10/5): - Convenient location and lovely friendly staff.
- Neil (10/5): We’ll be back ! - Great location and fabulous hotel, staff were exceptional ! Nothing
- Kim (7/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Just opposite the theatre Not enough staff on after the theatre
- Hilary (7/5): Could do better - The friendly staff and the lovely room, which was a free upgrade to an executive room. Spacious, comfortable and clean. Dressing gown and slippers provided. Quiet and peaceful location too, not always easy to find in the hubbub of a city. Breakfast. The assumption that everyone would love to eat a cooked breakfast every morning. Personally, I don't enjoy cooked breakfast and would rather have buffet style. I believe the hotel thought they were providing this alternative but in truth it was a poor selection of cereals and fresh fruit (hard unripe melon dominating) and unimaginative bread for toast. I would have liked a choice of different breads, rolls, croissants. There was also an assumption that everyone would be happy with jam/marmalade/honey but I like savoury food at breakfast, such as peanut butter, cheese slices, cooked meats, Marmite. I think more imagination in providing a breakfast that would suit everyone is needed.
- David (10/5): absolutely wonderful we had a theatre visit and the location was perfect. - fabulous breakfast
staff all very helpful and pleasant
and friendly and knowledgeable about the area view from room
- ZIGGURAT (9/5): Excellent hotel in a quiet location. - All 1st class across the board. Staff all most helpful. Room up to date design. No loose tiles or plaster. Room and bathroom
spotlessly clean. Bed comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Requested alarm call came on time. A wall clock in the room and a note pad would have been helpful.

- Quigs (9/5): - The staff were magnificent both on arrival and the morning. Requested a sandwich as I was arriving after restaurant closed, went above and beyond for me with a lovely ciabatti and crisps, well received.
The quirky old style was a wonderful throwback, beautiful hotel Not a lot tbh,

- John (10/5): - Everything, we've stayed here many times now and we're never disappointed. It's the whole package, we had a lovely evening meal before we set off to our show at City Hall. Very welcoming staff with attention to detail, great breakfast and location for most places in Hull. All the rooms we've stayed in have been larger than you would expect, very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Thank you to all the great staff 😀 Nothing to comment
- HIN KAN (6/5): - Nil Not value for money
- Martin (9/5): Nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay again. - Freshly cooked breakfast. Friendly staff. Nothing.
- Daniele (8/5): pleasent - Been up graded, very good comfortable room

- Benjamin (7/5): Decent hotel, would stay again. - Good location, nice building. Parking situation is great. Good breakfast, quick check in and out. The shower was pretty poor, can only speak for my room.
- JANET (8/5): Executive suite in annexe - Quiet area but close to everything in particular the theatre. Free parking directly outside hotel.Very good breakfast. View from the room over looking a small park.Room was very large and had a fridge and a safe. The way the shower operated from the taps, had to spend time trying to get the temperature right before getting under shower.
- Ruth (8/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): Great city centre hotel, perfect for visiting Hull New Theatre! - I was a solo female traveller, so I liked the fact that the staff were friendly and I had a good double room (I booked a single room) with double bed, which was spacious. I had a shower instead of a bath with shower over, which is what I requested and was given. There was complimentary coffee/tea and mineral water in a small fridge. The location was excellent on a quiet square, but opposite the Hull New Theatre where I was going to a show. It is literally 50 metres from the hotel, which was fantastic. I had a pre-theatre dinner of sirloin steak, which was cooked just as I like and a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Breakfast was very good and very quickly served, so I was able to book out early in order to get back home on time. I will definitely return if I want to see a show at the Hull New Theatre, as I feel comfortable staying at The Kingston Theatre Hotel and I think it is reasonably priced for a city centre location. Nothing.

- donnarM5651MS (10/5): A very successful very special day! - The team at Kingston Theatre Hotel recently hosted our wedding reception. It was an absolutely brilliant day! Everything ran according to plan, and the staff couldn't be faulted on their welcoming attitude and attention to detail. Thoroughly enjoyed everything from drinks on arrival to breakfast the morning after. Cannot recommend highly enough to other couples looking for a truly magical but relaxed and flawless experience.
- Drac Belantony (10/5): - Great staff, quality accommodation and great location.
- Karen (10/5): Lovely two night stay, hotel was was wonderful & perfect location for theatres & museums. - Excellent location. Friendly staff. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean.
- Susan (10/5): Can't fault. - We were up graded to executive suite on arrival.

- McGill (9/5): Great hotel, great location! - Great location for Kingston New Theatre. Quiet residential area with complimentary parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get a light evening meal prior to our theatre visit.
- kime267 (10/5): 60th wedding anniversary. - I firstly want to start this review with a massive thank you to all the staff for a fantastic day and function celebrating my parents 60th wedding anniversary yesterday. Honestly everyone went above and beyond to help us make that day extra special for them. Thank you for the little extra effort like Easter eggs for the kiddies in our family room and special thanks to Gary for all the help and organising it thanks also to Sam on the night of the function for all her help. The hotel is lovely food was amazing and Honestly couldn't have wished for a better day thank you.x
- Chamberlain (9/5): Lovely hotel, perfect location - The hotel was in a perfect location, opposite the theatre and a short walk into the town centre. All the staff were friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The room was modern, clean and tidy and it even had a fridge. Breakfast was delicious, there was an array of choice, cereal, fruit and juices. Then we ordered from the menu for a cooked breakfast. Couldn't have asked for more. Would recommend and will definitely stay again.
- KevinC264 (10/5): Great Food, Great Service - Good Friday family lunch, Fish & Chips was a must for everyone, top quality fish cooked to perfection, great service from welcoming staff.
- Kevin (8/5): Really pleasant, so so handy for the theatre opposite, - Staff great, room spacious, easy parking, only minor down side, the shower was a bit iffy,
- Andrea (10/5): - Staff were very welcoming the hotel is lovely clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was of good standard and of good value. Rooms are very spacious which is a preference of mine.. the purpose of my visits was because I was going to the theatre ... Which is within walking distance from the hotel . Also parking was included in our booking which is also a massive plus No complaints
- G5714JHjackd (10/5): Pre-theatre meal - Excellent service
Food was beautiful, the salmon course with capers was really excellent.
We have never been before and we were really impressed with the quality of the food and the friendly service.
A fantastic pre-show meal!
- Patrick (8/5): Very good and comfortable but too short - Excellent service , very speedy and delightful staff.I will certainly come back and stay again. Nothing
- Catherine (10/5): -
- familyp_8 (10/5): Friendly family hotel - We stayed last minute last night . We had already had one night in another hotel & decided to stay on & we were lucky to be accommodated.
What a lovely hotel it's so nice to stay somewhere that's decorated with pretty papers & unique not the usual sterile environment that big corporate hotels have .
Unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to have an evening meal at the hotel . The breakfast was plentiful and good quality & so nice to have it brought to you instead of buffet style . Beautiful linen table cloth s and flowers & little candles on an evening.
The room was comfortable and cozy fresh bedding & towels . Well equipped with hair dryer mini fridge with complementary water . Iron & ironing board .
We will definitely return it's in a great location. It's spotlessly clean & the staff are all genuinely pleasant and friendly. The parking right outside is an added bonus .
Only blip for us was some inconsiderate guests who were a little too noisy & allowed kids to run about but that's no fault of the hotel .
It really was a pleasant stay with old fashioned charm
- Suzanne (9/5): - Super friendly and we were upgraded . Good location for exploring the all surrounding coast. Free parking. Fab restaurant.
- Ruth (10/5): Excellent overnight stay - Convenient for theatre. Excellent value for money. Friendly helpful staff Nothing
- Elaine (8/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Lovely location and comfortable - Quiet, comfortable and clean Nothing
- Norma1946 (10/5): Excellent traditional quality. - We stayed one night at The Kingston Theatre Hotel for dinner, bed and breakfast.
The staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly but also very professional.
We had a spacious , comfortable room which was clean and well-appointed.
The food was excellent. Parking was convenient and free for our stay.
The hotel was in a pleasant location and within a ten-minute walk of the Old Town area. We would certainly choose to stay there again if we were in the area.
- Gordon (10/5): A Hotel which shines in Hull City - Kingston Theatre Hotel is exceptionally maintained and the location is central to the heart of Hull. The staff were professional and informative when we had any questions - the scented pillow spray was a much appreciated touch! The restaurant was also very well priced and made you feel very welcome - and the quality of the food was first class, which matched the breakfast in the morning. The street parking was a little challenging when there was a show on, but was manageable. Also - the Hotel made up for it - Hull city has a lot of maintenance work in progress which at times took the leisure out of the discovery walks.
- Steven (10/5): - So close to Hull New Theatre and very clean. Upgraded as well, which was a bonus
- david (9/5): Excellent - Everything No hand rail on stairs up to Hotel
- Jamie (9/5): Such a lovely hotel! Will be back - I really enjoyed my stay at the Kingston Hotel. Not only is it in a fantastic location (perfect for where I was performing), but the convenient car parking right outside was a huge bonus.
The receptionist — I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name — was incredibly friendly, and all the restaurant staff were just as welcoming. The food was slightly on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. I’d highly recommend the fish and chips!
Breakfast was also fantastic, and the room had everything you could need — from robes and shower gels to teas, coffees, and biscuits, which were a lovely touch.
Overall, a really enjoyable stay and I’d definitely recommend it. Purely as constructive feedback (and nothing against the hotel itself), there were just a couple of small things. I was placed on the top floor, which was a little tricky with quite a lot of luggage and costumes to carry.
Also, the curtains in the bedroom didn’t block out the morning light very well. A blackout blind or thicker curtains would make a big difference, especially for guests hoping for a lie-in.
Other than that, I honestly couldn’t fault my stay.
- Ian (10/5): Victorian class and charm - Situated in a beautiful part of Hull, in the heart of the Victorian quarter overlooking a small park and opposite the Hull Kingston Theatre. Inside didn't disappoint with many of the grand features of Victorian England. Spotless and well cared for, this privately run hotel will be our new go to. N/A

- Beki (10/5): Lovely traditional hotel with excellent staff! - Excellent welcome. Well looked after throughout the stay. Lively atmosphere throughout. Good quiet night sleep in comfy bed. Excellent breakfast and lovely staff in the dining area. Weak shower.
- Sally (10/5): Perfect location, great value - Literally over road from theatre. Clean, nice staff good breakfast It if a bit old school and tired but its such good value and super clean so for money great value
- Thomas (8/5): Great location and food - Bit dated but clean and friendly, good food. Decor
- Ruth (10/5): -

- mariecQ2853ST (10/5): Great location, great rooms, great service, great breakfasts! - You could not wish for a better location. In the centre of this bustling city, the hotel is located in a Georgian square with a central garden. Very quiet yet only a few minutes' walk from everywhere.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the beds are lovely.
Breakfast excellent with great choices.
Best of all are the staff. I knew Hull folk have a reputation for being friendly, and the staff are - they really do want to make your stay a great one.

- Melanie (10/5): In the heart of Hull - The Kingston theatre hotel is a stones throw away from the New theatre Hull making it an ideal place to stay if your visiting the theatre. Its a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Hull & all its wonderful shops. The staff are really welcoming, & nothing is too much trouble. Free parking is included with your stay as is the excellent breakfast. Ive stayed here many times & have never been let down with the cleanliness of the rooms, bedding etc. Overall a fab place to stay when visiting Hull. N/a

- dnowland_12 (10/5): Yet Another Wonderful Stay - We have been guests at this hotel on many occasions over the recent years and the standards never disappoint, very friendly, helpful and attentive staff, wonderfully clean and well presented public rooms and restaurant with great food to match, why would you want to stay anywhere else.
Thank you to everyone for yet another enjoyable stay, hope to be back before too long.
- Paul (10/5): It was so lovely - Everything The fact you had to go outside from the reception/bar/dining room area to get to the rooms.
- kevin (9/5): -
- suel70 (8/5): Relaxing, peaceful and perfectly placed - Perfectly located for Hull New Theatre and many other venues and eateries, the hotel is a genteel establishment concentrating on providing a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere and is an oasis of calm away from the noise and traffic. Car parking on the adjacent streets, if available, can be arranged at check in and is free of charge for 24 hours. Our executive king room, overlooking the park on the second floor of the main hotel, was spacious, well fitted out and spotless. The hotel's Weekender rate is very good value and includes one free drink per head and a healthy, hearty breakfast, both buffet and cooked to order.
- Lisa (10/5): -
- donna (10/5): Fantastic independent hotel - The beds were very comfortable, there is a fridge tucked away in the wardrobe and has 2 bottles of water in it. The staff was amazing, we had breakfast, it was exceptional.
- Explore48219914122 (10/5): Wonderful Night Great Breakfast - We held a function at snob for 50 people with a buffet on Valentine night. Even though there were fully booked for the night . There looked after us wonderfully, nothing was to much trouble for Gary and his team. Every looked fanatics food buffet was a delight lots of choice everyone enjoyed it. If you are looking for a venue cant recommend it to much. We stay for the night the bedroom where very clean and tidy and not like the usual hotel where every room is the same. The breakfast is cooked to order which is lovely and a great choices of the food.
- gilliandQ3350SC (10/5): Over and above our expectations - This was my first time staying at the Kingston Theatre Hotel and it exceeded all my expectations. The staff are so friendly and very caring showing an interest ensuring our stay was perfect which it was. The team reserved our breakfast table as a lovely surprise and decorated it for valentines day including a card from the team. This made our day. We stayed in the deluxe king studio and the room was very spacious with everything we needed. The sheets smelled so fresh and not the usual laundered hotel sheet smell, the bed was very comfy we both had a fantastic nights sleep. I highly recommend Kingston Theatre Hotel and I will be for sure booking again.
- Valerie (10/5): Excellent stay at a Kingston Theatre Hotel, staff couldn’t be more helpful, can’t remember everyone’s names but I would - Clean and comfortable Nothing
- Garry (10/5): -
- DAVID (10/5): A very pleasant surprise. Well Done - The Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. The whole place was spotless. Loved the old original features. The room was excellent, as was the breakfast. The evening meal was excellent.

- Karen (10/5): Relaxing comfortable stay in this hotel - Nice quiet location very welcoming staff. Cosy seating area in reception adjacent to the bar. Clean and nicely decorated. Room we had was on 3rd floor at top of hotel lift to get there. Nice and quiet and very good sized room. Comfortable beds small table and chairs and plenty of lamps and lighting. Good sized bathroom with shower over bath and toiletries provided. Nice touch was a pillow spray to aid restful sleep. Lovely choice of breakfast and welcoming and super efficient service by young waiter. Car parking opposite the hotel free for 24 hours on arrival with a permit from reception. Was attending a party in the function room in the hotel which you can get to from the hotel lift so no need to go outside. Buffet food provided by hotel was really nice and bar staff very pleasant and efficient. Hope to stay here again. N/A
