- Anna (1/5): Only if you're backpacking and need a bed overnight - Not much Very hard to check in. No elevator and several floors. 3 beds crammed in one room and the bathroom was extremely unsafe. We rented a nice apartment with 2 bedrooms bathroom with washer/dryer and full kitchen a couple blocks away WHICH WAS THE SAME PRICE. We left early without a refund because it was that bad. The building would be amazing and it is historic but has not been kept up AT ALL. There was one outlet and it was in the makeshift closet....Hostel vibes 😬

- Anne (3/5): Disappointing - Sheets and towels were clean The building maintenance was haphazard - there were some improvement like a newer bathroom toilet (that still had the purchase sticker on it), but other aspects peeling paint, no security lock from inside the room, weird stains on the walls, towel rack ripped off the wall, etc.. showed a lack of follow-through to maintain the building. Location was downtown, but there was also a strip club 2 blocks away and I didn't feel 100% safe there, I put my suitcase up against the door and woke up at every noise in the hall.

- Beatriz (6/5): - La persona que me atendió fue amable y la habitación que me asignó estaba bien para una persona. La cama era cómoda. Es un hotel céntrico, al lado de la parada de autobuses de la sky tower. A pesar de que podía estar algo más cuidado y adecentado en el interior, es suficiente por el precio que pagué. No lo recomendaría para más de 1 o 2 noches. El aire acondicionado no funcionaba, pasé algo de frío. La puerta de entrada y las escaleras pueden ser un poco incómodas si viajas con una maleta grande.

- Jasmin (7/5): Für eine Nacht auf der Durchreise vollkommen in Ordnung - Sehr gute Lage direkt am Busbahnhof (Intercitybusse und skybus zum Flughafen). Das Bad sah sehr neu und renoviert aus Nur 2 Steckdosen im Zimmer. Eine von der Mikrowelle und eine vom Fernseher. Diese musste man dann ausstecken um diese nutzen zu können. Keine Steckdose in Bettnähe. Das Zimmer ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

I had advised we would be there at 11am and was told we could leave our bags anytime after 8am but no one was there and had to make a few phones calls but it was all rectified pretty quickly and in the end we could leave our bags so wasn't really a big problem

However we should have expected these issues considering I looked at the reviews the property has had before I booked and as we were only staying one night I thought we could deal with it. It was very stuffy without the air-conditioning though and too loud outside to keep a window open

- Danielle (4/5): It is what you pay for - The staff were friendly and it is very central to everything. Bed comfy The lack of sound proofing you can hear everything outside all night. The room needed to be refreshed, paint flaking, holes in walls and a deep clean. No point supplying coffee and sugar without teaspoons. The photos on line didn't match the room.

I have been to a different hotel in Auckland same price and way better. Paint peeling off and makes it look very untidy and dirty. However the cleaning lady is helpful and friendly. Maybe a littlte touch up paint and tidy bathroom sealant will help. Need toilet roll holder.

- Jimmy (9/5): Great location and affordable - Last minute booking and not wanting to spend a fortune for 2 nights when I knew I would be out and about most of the time. Check in was easy and fast. The room is adequate and has all you need. Comfy bed and nice hot shower. Its a bit dated but at the same time it was great. Handy having a pub down the bottom as prep for the ABs win :) I would stay there again no problem. It is a bit dated but again it was comfortable and the hosts were great.

The bar person was a pleasant guy who ushered us to a booking clerk (?) at the other end of bar who btw showed no interest in us waiting to be checked in. The bar person looked awkward and unsure whether to help us or not. The room was a standard 2 single bed room that we had no intention of staying in other than to sleep. I'd say its a pretty shabby cupboard type room with 1 cup for 1 guest, no cutlery and no selection of condiments i.e. no coffee sachets, 2 tea-bag sachets and a lot of sugar. A crack in the only window by the bed. Not good! Cheapest accommodation in a handy location for the night but boy oh boy, its not a pretty, welcoming place. No meals, only snacks upon request. Its been a few years since we stayed there and well, compared to many hotels in the area where we have stayed, this one is no longer any good! (No elevator - god help anyone staying on the 2nd or 3rd floor with heavy luggage. Apparently, the hotel has recently had renovations? Hmm! NO parking available on site! I will not recommend this hotel.

- Rosemary (10/5): - Older place right in the middle of Auckland, but honestly, one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in (and I do an heck of a lot of travelling) plus the shower was outstanding - hot and high pressure. Sure it’s noisy, given it sits on 2 main roads and there’s a bar/gaming area right below, but actually it was very tolerable. The service from the front desk (front bar?) was great, friendly guy and happy to help. It’s an older place so if you overlook the tired walls and lack of convenient wall plugs, it’s great. Would happily stay again.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay here! - I know it's cheap, but don't stay here. It's sooo dirty (there was mold behind our bed) and the shower wasn't even cleaned. We checked-in and checked-out within 30 minutes because we couldn't take it. We asked for a refund for our ONE night and they declined us.
- Ross (8/5): Perfect stay just as expected. I have stayed on two occasions. - The location is central to town and is virtually opposite the SkyTower drop off point for the bus from the airport. It is excellent value for money. It is a basic hotel in which everything works. Shower, hot water and aircon all are in good order. It is basic but that is compensated for with cleanliness a comfortable bed and value for money.
- Kayla (1/5): Unsafe - The room doors cannot be locked from the inside which means that anyone with your door code can enter the room at any time. I was horrified to see this. I worked for years with police in sexual assault response -- I can *guarantee* there have been incidents at this hotel. Please *DO NOT STAY HERE*. It's criminal that they are allowed to operate a hotel with zero security for guests -- it actually boggles my mind, truly completely unacceptable. I was polite about it and the manager (older man) rolled his eyes at me. I left and stayed somewhere safe.

- Catherine (8/5): Historic hotel, but the rooms need updating for better efficiency. - The location is right across from Sky City, and close to bus routes. I could walk down Wellesley Avenue to my new favorite restaurant, Tony's Steakhouse and Seafood. It's a historic hotel. The room was poorly designed in that it was big enough to add a kitchennette and walk-in shower. It should have a double bed, not a queen, so that one can walk in between the bed and window. There's no lift.
