Guest Reviews
- MARCO (10/5): - Me gustó
- Robert (10/5): Fabulous - This family owned boutique hotel was a great place! We loved every minute of staying here. Thanks so much for the hospitality wonderful breakfasts. Will definitely be back !
- Anthony (10/5): Truly a Home away from home - More of a large home than a small hotel. Family lives atop of hotel, I have a hard time writing Hotel as you feel comfortable right away upon entering their Home . Rooms are huge , walk in shower, AC , cable TV . And lastly The Family ❤️ wonderful warm Mexican hospitality. I’ve been travelling all my life basically and this Hotel/ Home is in my top 5 .
- Doug (10/5): Friendly, convenient and safe - A very special family owned and operated boutique Inn. Very informal and friendly. excellent breakfast.
Safe and convenient location near all the activities Tlaquepaque has to offer.
Price was reasonable as well.
- Raymond (10/5): Very nice place to stay - Doña Lorena and Don Alejandro were the perfect hosts. Not a hotel, but a bed and breakfast. Nice room, delicious breakfasts and very nice people.
- George (10/5): A Hiden Gem - My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa Tlaquepaque this charming family-owned hotel for one night, and we can honestly say we have nothing but positive things to share about our experience.
From the moment we arrived, Alejandro and his wife, Lorena, were exceptionally warm and welcoming hosts. Their passion for providing a wonderful stay was evident in every detail of the hotel. The atmosphere was filled with beautifully decorated family memories that reflect rich Mexican traditions, making our stay feel incredibly special.
One of the highlights of our visit was the delicious breakfast, expertly prepared and served with genuine care. It was the perfect way to start our day!
The hotel also boasts a small garden that feels like a tranquil oasis, filled with lush trees and greenery. It provided a lovely setting for relaxation, and we found ourselves enchanted by its beauty.
Overall, we truly fell in love with this place and can't recommend it enough. We plan to return one day to enjoy the hospitality of Alejandro and Lorena again.
- Nellie (8/5): - I really love the convenience
Of all the shops around
- Larry (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay. This is a family business. It has beautiful, tradional areas. They make you feel realy welcoome. And they are extremely kind and helful people. Highly recoommed. This is not a Marriott or Hilton, but a vety personal and familt style of accommodation. Highky recomment it.
- Sharlene (10/5): - Quiet yet dated property. Breakfast was lovely and the owners were wonderful people. Very helpful.
- Steven (10/5): We hit the jackpot - This is a beautiful and comfortable place to spend a few days. Breakfast was excellent. Shower and bed were excellent. Location is a convenient street in Tlaquepaque. We went into Guadalajara and to Tonala by bus; the stop is on the corner. The bus is an adventure, but you don't need to use it. The family that runs the BnB was super-helpful! Yes by all means if you're staying in Tlaquepaque.
- Jane (10/5): Great find! - We had a wonderful stay at this lovely, art filled hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a large terrace. The host/owners were helpful and gracious, ready to answer any questions. Looking forward to staying there again on our next visit to Tlaquepaque.
- Tom (10/5): Wonderful Hotel - AMAZING hotel, in fact the photo on this review is the exterior of the room I had. Breakfast daily was fresh cooked the staff is very friendly and the area is clean. This is a small hotel so it was not crowded also it is very secure the staff has to "buzz" you in even during the day. Close to the main plaza area only about 6 blocks and lots of nice shops in the area too.
- Lucia (10/5): - ❤️
- John (10/5): - What cute ground and pool! The room and patio were unique. The husband and wife owners making breakfast were so cute. What a great entry to Tlaquepaque!
- Analaura (10/5): - Nice property and good customer service.
- Sergio (10/5): - Attentive and friendly staff.
- Linda (8/5): - Loved the balcony with chairs and table. Gardens need some maintenance
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I had a wonderful experience during my staying I love that place very good food and good service and the staff
- Jennifer (10/5): Good place - Sweet people, good food and comfortable room:)
- Greg (8/5): - Nice clean property, Property is very homey and has a few secured parking spots on site. No bar, but they have a nice sitting area in their lobby and they accommodated us with glasses, ice, and a snack for our group of 6. And the breakfast is excellent! Walking distance to shops, dining and nightlife. The owners son speaks excellent english and provided good recommendations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Personal muy atento y amable, ambiente muy acogedor, desayuno delicioso
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very beautiful courtyard with art vision. Service is wonderful. A little suggestion is some people may not like the nightstand with a human skeleton light. Also I saw two cockroaches when I just power on the air conditioning device when they were coming out from it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The garden is a beautiful oasis from the heat of the day, inviting pool and unique surroundings to relax in. The rooms with terraces are perfect.
The staff was extrememly accommodating everyday in helping us plan our day trips.
Breakfast was great, and more than we needed.
Will return here and recommend to friends.
- Bill (10/5): - Nice family run small hotel. Lobby area very much like a home. Fab artwork throughout as well as an eclectic mix of ornamentation. Great breakfast. A short walk to the pedestrian street for tourists.
- Carlos (10/5): - Cálida y eficiente recepción y trato durante nuestra estancia. El desayuno particularmente bueno.
- William (10/5): Great location! - Great location - very easy walk to lots of shopping/restaurants. Service was great. Nice free breakfast in the morning. It has a courtyard area that was good for evening relaxation.
- Pepe (10/5): - Personal service by staff was very good, room was very comfortable and the patio, almost being home.
- Sandy (10/5): My 2 stays at the Galeria Casa Tlaquepaque Hotel - I have been very pleased both times with the friendliness and helpfulness of the Family members who own the Casa- the wife being the receptionist and greeter and the husband being the breakfast cook; also the son helping with booking a bus for our next adventure in Mexico(he being the one who knows English, the best) therefore is even more helpful with our poor knowledge of Spanish. They have many beautiful works of Mexican artistry throughout their Casa, pieces that were created many years ago, ones that you normally only see in museums. There are huge lush tropical plants growing around a lovely pool, one that I haven't used to swim in, but I'm sure it would be refreshing if I ever visited in the hotter months of the year. Also, it is a very quiet, tranquil place to stay in the heart of Tlaquepaque, within minutes of many lovely shops and restaurants.
- Richard (10/5): aMAZING HOTEL AND HOSPITALITY - To class A++++++
- Maria (10/5): - Comfortable
- Raul (8/5): I shall return! - Staff was excellent. Only complaint Breakfast window to short !!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice, small, but not very nicely located - THe location was not the best, four blocks from the main old town of Tlaquepaque. since it is managed by the owners, it is basically a house where you stay, breakfast served only at 8, so if you want to leave early no breakfast. you have to ring on the bell to enter the hotel and sometimes they take long to open the street door in a not very nice neighborhood.
wifi service not available in rooms and rooms looked dark.
- Ben (10/5): Superb. - I can't say enough good things about this place. Immaculately kept. Wonderfully friendly staff. Beautiful grounds. Tons of art. Delicious breakfast prepared each morning to your exact preference. Perfect location away from the noise, but about a 3 minute walk to the heart of Tlaquepaque. We can't wait to return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice boutique hotel. Excellent location, only four blocks from restaurants and shopping in Tlaquepaque square.
- Barbara (10/5): Great place to stay - We only stayed 1 night on our return north but loved the overall ambience and the friendliness of the owners.
- Jose (8/5): Nice Hotel next to a special spot - Very few places in Guadalajara will expose you to the folk, art, and true beauty of that region. Tlaquepaque is one of the places that will take back in time to the old Mexico, to the look and feel of what many of us are looking for when we visit this amazing country. But the experience is not complete if you stay at a modern hotel. Hotel Galleria Casa Tlaquepaque is a great choice to complete the experience. From the outside it looked like I made a bad choice but I was wrong. Inside, this place is just wonderful. Definitely a B&B like hotel. And with fast internet!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hidden gem - Absolutely delightful place. Looks like nothing from the street, but once inside, it is like little oasis in the middle of large city around it. the inner court yard had lot of greenery, fountain and many birds and butterflies, very peaceful, you really do not want to leave the place. But leave you should as the hotel is within 5 mins walking distance to a wonderful pedestrian-only area of Tlaquepaque with amazing restaurants, shops and galleries - a must see place.
Breakfast was also amazing and plentiful. fruit, toast and jam and eggs any way you want it.
No meal service at night, but not needed as many many restaurants are very close. They could make you drinks though, and margaritas were made with freshly cut limes form their own lime tree!
- Byron (8/5): Surprising little family hotel - Hotel is not much to look at from the outside. However, the family is wonderful and there is a lovely quiet courtyard in the back that is perfect to relax in. Really pretty. The rooms are clean and well maintained but dated in terms of decor. But again, they are clean. The surrounding area has some interesting sites. No restaurant but the breakfast in the morning has wonderful fresh fruit purchased from the market each morning. Cervaza is available if you ask the family.
Recommend if you want a local feel near an interesting area for a good price and don't mind not having a lot of amenities and modern decor. Not for someone looking for an American style hotel.
- Kerry (10/5): Wonderful! - It was cozy and relaxing! Loved the balcony our room came with!
- ray (8/5): - people are great. would be nice if they had a bar.
- Roger (8/5): "Stay Here" - Have stayed in this area 4 times before and all is good. Safe neighborhood....close to town square w/ everything.Great hosts w/ great breakfast.Definitely recommendable.
- 1st visit (10/5): Historic Guadalajara - Loved it. Great location. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Great service!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfy Place - Good location to get to the heart of the town. Quaint with the right atmosphere for a relaxing weekend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not hotels fault but it was hot while we where there and no AC in rooms. Second night was Santa Cruz festival with fire works all night. Two nights no sleep?
