• Evan (3/5): Didn't honor Booking.com reservation, and asked me to cover for them - otherwise probably fine - The location is great, easily walkable to the spectacular Bui Vien party street, but on a quiet side alley. Area has lots of cheap food, 24-hour convenience stores, and long-distance bus companies. The owner seemed earnest about making up for their double-booking issue, by finding an alternative place for me and inviting me to use her drinking water dispenser until she closed the doors at 11pm, and also offering me free breakfast for the next day (though I couldn't avail, because it was in the morning and I needed to stay up late and sleep in). Owner speaks pretty good English. I unfortunately didn't get to experience or even see the rooms or dorms, because the property did not honor my Booking.com reservation (the common area didn't look like anything special, and was hot). Only after I arrived did they tell me that someone had booked the last bed by another method soon before I made my reservation. From other reviews, it sounds like similar things have happened multiple times, and this is really not an acceptable use of the Booking platform - in most places this almost never happens. They should be blocking off the space in Booking immediately when other reservations come in, and if occasionally they're too late, they should contact the customer immediately (I arrived at least an hour or two after reserving). The owner did find me another place right across the street, which was slightly cheaper, but seemed not as good. I gave in to their request that I cancel myself, because I'm bad at saying no, but they really should be accepting the consequences of their mistake rather than asking the disappointed guest to help them get out of trouble. Somehow Booking still asked me to write a review though, so I guess that's good.
• James (10/5): - Good toilets, large beds, nice large comfortable room. Very friendly staff, who let you use their printer for free. There is also a pleasant rooftop area, to enjoy the views or for smokers to smoke. They also provide a free breakfast, and the banana pancakes were amazing. Air-conditioning was not the best, but was certainly not bad. Door was slightly dodgy, got caught on the floor so could be tricky to open/close. One of our above bed personal lights did not work.

• Vanessa (9/5): Nice Hostel near BuiVien - Super Hostel in der Nähe der BuiVien Street, aber dennoch ruhig. Personal ist sehr freundlich, bei einer späten Abreise kann man sich dort noch duschen und umziehen. Alle sehr nett. Das Frühstück ist auch in Ordnung. -

• Saskia (9/5): Very comfortable, clean, with a great location and wonderful staff. - I got a private room by myself and I would highly recommend! All the staff were very lovely, the rooms were clean and I had my sheets and towels changed at least once every 2 days. It wasn’t a particularly social hostel if that’s what you’re into, but it was a great location. And the private rooms had a double lock if your travelling solo and feel uneasy. Love love love. Possible more activities within the hostel for people who like more of a social hostel.

Notre chambre était super confortable (mention spéciale pour le lit) et la propriétaire très sympa. Nous avons pu laver du linge sur place avec elle, et le petit déj était inclus, très bon ! Seul point noir, les escaliers (si on a de gros bagages), mais pas insurmontable.

• Mari (9/5): 清潔で快適でブイビエン通りまで徒歩圏内の便利な宿 - とても清潔で快適でした。 ダブルルームに宿泊しましたが、部屋の前のバルコニーの休憩所があり、ゆっくりできて良かったです。 朝早くから出かけていたので、朝ご飯を食べなかったのですが、他の方の口コミを見るとかなり美味しかったらしく、食べとけば良かったと残念に思っています。 宿のスタッフの方も親切でした。 宿泊したダブルルームが4thか3rdフロアだったので、スーツケースを運ぶのが大変でした。（チェックイン時はスタッフの方が運んでくれました。） 宿は細い路地にあるのでタクシーは前の通りで乗り降りしなくてはいけないです。（慣れると全然問題なかったです）

• Cédric (8/5): - Très bon hostel avec un rapport qualité/prix imbattable. C'est une famille qui le tient. La dame est vraiment gentille. L'endroit est très calme et proche de tout. En particulier de la rue des bars et une 20aine de minutes a pied vers le centre ville. Je reviendrai à cet endroit sans hésiter. J'ai payé quasiment le double à Hanoi pour une qualité moindre.

Although they changed my towels and organised my room, there are a couple of areas that could use a bit more care, such as the shower glass screen, some mould in the shower, and the mattress, which was very thin and quite firm.

• LIHUA (9/5): 出行很方便，民宿主人很友善，有家的感觉 - 位置很好，在范五老街的西侧巷子里，闹中取静，这块区域集中了各路长途大巴和市内公交车，巷口有集市很热闹，周边餐馆很多。最好的是前台漂亮温婉的女士，对待客人像家人般友善，感觉太好了。早餐也很不错，前台有过滤水供客人免费续用。 我们住的103房间没有窗户，尽管有空调风扇和排气扇，但还是没有自然风舒服。

• Martha (9/5): Lovely hostel and hosts! - The hostel is lovely, especially for the price. The family that run it make it feel very welcoming and you get a free breakfast every morning which is really nice and it was delicious. The bin was changed each day and we were given fresh towels which was a nice gesture. They also let us leave our bags there on our last day while we went out. Really enjoyed our stay. We didn’t have a window in our room, which we didn’t mind, but i know some people do.

Der Preis ist immer höher, die Unterkunft nimmer so sauber wie früher. Unser Zimmer war ohne Fenster, die Tür im Bad voll verschimmelt.

We stayed in a private room with ensuite and even had a cute little balcony where we enjoyed sitting and watching the neighbourhood. The free breakfast is great also.

• JuanMG22 (1/5): Bichos S.A. - Lo único que se salva es la ubicación, cercana a la principal calle nocturna. Bastante mala experiencia, me sorprenden las buenas reseñas. Cuando llegamos al hostel nos dieron una habitación que tenía el baño lleno de insectos (moscas y arañas) y telas de araña por la habitación. Bajamos a recepción para pedir que o limpiaran o nos cambiasen de habitación y nos dieron otra que tenía las fotos que adjunto: hormigas y huevos muertos por el suelo, el baño sin limpiar (había un sobre de champú utilizado en la ducha) y otra araña. Había una plaga de hormigas en la zona del baño. La zona en la que se encuentra es buena, cerca de la calle principal, pero algo alejada de los principales puntos de interés de la ciudad. Al volver al hostel vimos ratas en un mercado que se encuentra justo antes del callejón donde se encuentra el hostel, si hubiéramos podido nos habríamos ido la primera noche.

The owners were lovely, and the breakfast was good value. 4 flights of stairs to get it - but there's nothing the owners can do about that and pretty common in HCMC!

• Idan (7/5): Nice but not clean enough - Great location, very close to Bui Vien Walking Street but in quiet area. The room was equipped with everything you need: Many hangers, desk and chair, microwave, smart TV with Netflix. Also nice little balcony. Breakfast was good. The cleaning level was bad- a lot of ants, some dust on stuff. Also some stuff left from previous guests- plastic bags, earphones. The minibar didn't work.

• clément (10/5): Très bien - Un très bon emplacement et une chambre très bien pour nos premières nuits au Vietnam. L’entre aide pas au rendez-vous comparé au reste du Vietnam! Je n’ai jamais trouvé le bus 109 pour rejoindre la ville de l’aéroport, m’obligeant donc à prendre un Grab mais je n’avais pas fait attention que le paiement était en cash et je n’en avais pas. Pour une somme dérisoire je pense que mon hôte qui n’a fait aucun effort pour m’aider aurait pu m’avancer la course et l’ajouter à la facture du Check out. Donc petit moins pour l’accueil et l’entre aide comparé à d’autres hôte dans le reste du pays, même si cela reste convenable…

• Lawrence (9/5): Really enjoyed the area and the neighborhood--close to everything. - Breakfast was pretty good. Not a lot of selection, but good. The coffee was very good but a bit small. The proprietess is excellent. Speaks English well, uses Whatsapp to communicate with clients, and very helpful. I checked out unexpectedly late in the afternoon and she was great about it. The area is very busy and can be noisy, but this place is down a tiny side street too narrow for lots of traffic. Also the room I was in overlooked other buildings, so far away from the street. Given the area, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. There was a huge flood and we were walking in thigh-deep water to get back to the hostel. The location of Long is a bit higher than just down the street, though, and it was above the water and didn't get flooded. Pay attention to the floodplain when you are choosing a place to stay. There is no smoking allowed inside. VERY SMALL ISSUES: The room was quite clean, but not perfect. As it often happens the dust under the bed can be missed. If I was the manager, there would be no shoes allowed indoors at all, which is the policy in a few of the other places on the same street and in the same neighborhood. I think it is a good policy, and would prefer it, but it did not mean there was a lot of dirt on the floors or that it affected my stay. One room had no AC and then I had to move to another, which did have AC, but the price was the same. I had my laundry done there and they did a good job, However, they had rather heavily scented detergent, which I did not like and which clung to my clothes for a long time--until the next wash! I asked them to separate some clothes that should not have been dried and they either didn't understand me or missed it somehow.

Wir kamen um 10 Uhr müde vom Flughafen dort an, durften einchecken und direkt! ein Zimmer beziehen. Zahlen sollten und könnten wir später. Man konnte zum Frühstück zwischen fünf Gerichten und fünf Getränken wählen. Alles frisch und lecker zubereitet.Dazu gab es noch eine Banane.

• Huyền (10/5): Không có gì để chê 🫰🫰🫰 - Gia đình chủ rất niceee 💗 Chủ yếu là khách nước ngoài, tiền phòng có bao gồm dịch vụ ăn sáng và dọn phòng mỗi ngày nên lúc nào cũng sạch sẽ. Phòng cách âm tốt không ồn ào. Giờ giấc thoải mái ngay bến xe Q1 nên đi đâu cũng tiện 😘

The location is good as well, as you can walk to the city's financial center from the hostel. The free breakfast was great as well. You definitely should try the banana pancakes:) There is a nice morning market 20 meters from the hostel. I would highly recommend staying here.

I didn't like that the room was a bit small, the bed was okay but might be too small for two people, the pillows were a bit too high, not so comfortable and the TV didn't work.
