Guest Reviews
- Ioana (9/5): - Great location in city centre with free parking Bed a bit too small
- Tui (10/5): - The staff were lovely and the cleaner helped me with my luggage. I was given a room with the least flight of stairs at my request as I hadn't advised beforehand that I have trouble with stairs. The room was clean and well appointed. It was good value for money Just sorry the restaurant wasn't open, otherwise no complaints
- patrick (7/5): Good for what I needed - Very clean, fairly quiet, a pub and coffee shop just down the road for meals and some free parking The restaurant was not open while I was there
- Letitia (6/5): -
- Amanda-Tony (8/5): -
- Evan (10/5): -
- Kaela (8/5): -
- Keith (4/5): - No lifts for heavy bags also shower had no pressure just dribbled out went hot and cold.
Also shower taps had wrong hot and cold names on taps.
- Denise (7/5): -
- Monique (9/5): - Nice views and handy to parks and city. Hard to carry big case up stairs.
- Tirikai (10/5): - The rooms are nice and comfortable.
- Karen (10/5): Bright, fresh and clean. - I loved the clean brightness and cleanliness of the room. Also, it's very convenient location and ease of entry.
Check-in was easy, and I appreciated the friendly efficiency of reception staff who were eager to give me extra information to help make my stay the best it could be. There wasn't anything I didn't like.

- Bauer (5/5): -
- Benny (5/5): Just OK for an overnight stay - Location convenient to Roma Train and bus station with only 5 to 10 minutes walk, mostly uphill and stairs. Rooms very small (but clean), no lift so don’t bring lots of luggage. Water pressure in the shower was a little on the light side. Felt a little like a “hotel by the hour”, not that I stayed in one of those but what you see in movies.
- Bauer (8/5): -
- Mrs Mac (7/5): Cheap, clean and would stay again. - We were only there to sleep and get up early for a specialist apt. Great location, cheap, really clean. Much better than I expected! The reception could have given more information re parking etc
- Sara (4/5): -
- cyril (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - The location. The price. The cleanliness N/a
- Sherilyn (4/5): - The room was clean, quiet, the air con was a trifle noisy but blocked out the outside noise. This hotel is not disability friendly. There is a very steep ramp up to the door into the hotel. The office is halfway up the ramp. There is no lift, and stairs straight up and down.
- Catherine (9/5): Love this place - This place is great. Very clean. They are in partnership with Mercure next door and you can access their breakfast buffet (at a reduced price if you buy a voucher from reception the day before) as well as lunch and dinner (just regular prices). There is no restaurant on site though there used to be.The setting is incredible, nice and quiet at the highest point of Wickham Tce. It is on a free bus route to the city, but for the scenic route I recommend going through Roma Parklands. You wind up at Roma St station (moderate walk to city centre). Reception friendly and kind. I've stayed before, so knew there was no microwave. So it's Uber Eats and the Mercure (the hotel is in the medical precinct, so not many eateries truly close by after 5pm except for the Mercure). Also (and this is the reason I didn't give it 10), they need to put slip-resistant materials on the front ramp to the rooms. I stayed during wet weather and worried it was too slippery. Hold that handrail tight!
- Tony (6/5): - Good location Noisy, restaurant closed permanently, limited reception hours and dispenser machine locked in reception after hours.
- Alyce (7/5): Nice and quaint - Close to where I needed to be Parking is scarce
- Kerol (7/5): It was good. - It was across from botanical gardens. The car parking, if you have a car bigger than a tiny car you’ll have difficulty getting in not to mention good luck getting out with people parking all night in loading zone.
- Tosh (10/5): -
- Mags (9/5): Short stay convenience - The hotel was totally acceptable and the bus stop was right outside to catch the free loop
Service . There was a bit of noise I heard from
Other rooms - I would not stay for more than one night and no one helps with luggage up and down stairs
- Rhonda (5/5): - Location The ramp up and down. I fell and have broken my tail bone. Something needs to be down as the part I fell there was no rail to hold
- Joan (9/5): Good - Location Nothing
- Thani (2/5): -
- Mat (10/5): - Center position front of amazing park Nothing
- Mellybear29 (6/5): Soho stay - Room is neat and tidy and has a balcony with a bit of a view. Door to the balcony slides into the wall, which is pretty neat. Bed seems quite comfortable, but is on casters and slides all around the place. Shower works well with good water pressure. There's a kettle and a small fridge, but no toaster or microwave, so we had to eat out for every meal.
Parking is limited and not under cover. Can walk to the Queen Street mall in 10 minutes easy. Not super flash, but it will certainly suffice. Only here for two nights. Bed being on castors meant it moved around all over the place. Wheels should have brakes on them. Parking was quite limited and not undercover at all, so we got wet going to and from the car. Also, there is no elevator, only stairs. It is very difficult trying to get a suitcase up several levels to the room. No toaster or microwave, only a kettle. No table and chairs to sit at. Room was quite small.
- Ella (2/5): Bugs in room - Nothing The hotel smelt terrible, there were no accessible entrance to the floors (I have a disability and that was not advertised). Worstly, there were bugs all through our room that got over anything we'd try and eat as well as our suitcases and clothes. We checked out a day early and moved to a different hotel, staff did not ask why we were leaving or if anything was wrong
- Judith (9/5): - Great spot
- Shirley (7/5): - IT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND REALLY IN A GOOD LOCATION
- Jason (8/5): -
- Diane (8/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Trina (10/5): - I got a upgrade to Mercure hotel next to soho hotel sister brand
- Lauren (8/5): Convenient location and friendly staff. - Despite the issues, the staff at Soho Brisbane were friendly and check-in was quick and easy. The location was also convenient for accessing the city and nearby medical facilities before my surgery. My overnight stay at Soho Brisbane was difficult because the property only had stairs and no lift access, which was especially challenging as I was preparing for surgery the next day. Carrying luggage and moving around was uncomfortable and stressful given my condition. Unfortunately, the stay wasn’t suitable for someone with mobility or medical needs.
- Maria (9/5): - Loved the location and cleanliness room serviced every day
- Vanessa (9/5): -
- Quique (7/5): - Nice staff, good cleaning and good location. The parking lot is too small. Barely we could get a spot. And we couldn't use our car because if we left for the day, someone else could park there and leave us without a spot.
- Merrill (9/5): - Clean. Staff very pleasant. Convenient No lift. No sign to hang on door if you didn’t want housekeeping
- Cherie (8/5): Perfect for quick stay. Close to transport. - Location and price. It was extremely clean. Yes it is an older motel and was basic. Check-in and out and helpfulness of staff was good. Bed linen was of high quality. No lifts.we were on the 3rd floor with luggage.
- Megan (5/5): - Clean and fine for an overnight stop. Air con dangerous with edge when on balcony, sliding door hard to close/open.
- Jason (10/5): -
- Yong (8/5): -
- Paul (10/5): - Staff were friendly but the Motel is a little bit out of the main area.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Angela (6/5): Adequate - The location was good Basic and dated but that was expected for the price!
- Grace (5/5): Hotel was fine for a night. Bed was comfy but the interior is outdated. - Well priced for what you get. Bed is comfy Quite run down, light flooded through the windows and door at night. Need to get black out blinds and something to stop the light flooding the door from the hallway. It was also very loud outside & you could hear everything.
- Anne (5/5): Incredibly noisy from about 4am - Location, staff, cleanliness TV audio didn't work, reported it, was given little assistance .
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Jillian (6/5): - It was clean and had what I needed for a quick stay. No elevator, so be prepared to haul bags up multiple flights of stairs if you are travelling.
- Edwin (8/5): - Good Good
- Tameeka (8/5): -
- Ian (8/5): - Price, location and parking Room not serviced until late in the afternoon when taking a Nanna nap
- Claire (10/5): -
- Jesse (10/5): -
- Amber Jean (5/5): -
- Alexdec (7/5): Great location - Location and free parking Bit dated and small
- Angelina (9/5): -
- Philip (8/5): -
- roy (5/5): good value - clean
comfortable bed no elevator
no restaurant
room had two single bed one on wheels kept moving from wall when laying on pillow
- Tina (6/5): OK but not great - Bed was uncomfortable Could not open window for fresh air.
- Howard (8/5): real good - everything nothing
- Daniel (1/5): STAY AWAY - Nothing. The entrance to the property and reception is a joke. For a multi level hotel their is no elevator. The rooms are small and really old.
- Dan (10/5): -
- Robert (9/5): -
- Chene (7/5): -
- Greg (10/5): Excellent overnight stay - Close to Roma st train station
- Leah (7/5): - Location No elevator, stairs. No breakfast or restaurant.
- Chris (9/5): - Clean good area
- Glenda (7/5): -
- Gail (10/5): -
- Kristy (9/5): Great location friendly accommodating staff - Location, cleanliness and staff
- Mary (6/5): Rooms are very small - The shower was brilliant Plumbing pipes exposed not a good look
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Fernando (8/5): -
- Ken (8/5): - Location The stairs. 3rd floor and no lifts. Hard for older or injured people to drag luggage up all the stairs
- Bill (7/5): -
- Kathryn (10/5): -
- Alan (8/5): Okay - Easy access Maintenance
- Deneice (10/5): Exactly what I needed - Handy to everything and efficient in all areas Close to CBD
- Patmore (10/5): -
- Raihana (3/5): - Cleaning Wifi was super slow
Hot water tap faucet was not working at all
No lift, we have to carry our luggage to level 4 taking the stairs.
Very very old building
- Sean (7/5): It was Convenient. - I left before breakfast. Small
- Sarten (7/5): it more than beat my expectations. will return again for short stay when travelling along - location/good value for money room somewhat on the small side
- Ashis (8/5): -
- Janelle (8/5): Location is great and staff were very helpful . - Great location close to train station. The shower tap’s and shower head need replacing.
- Sharon (8/5): Clean, comfy and great value for money. - Room was clean n bed comfy.
- Shirley (9/5): City stay - The location was great and as we had a hire car it was good to have parking.
- Howard (8/5): - Quiet room, comfortable bed, warm shower even though the indicators on the taps were switched around. Hot was cold and vice versa. No room for suitcase. 3rd floor no elevator and I'm mid 70s with a heavy case.
It might have been 330 meters from Rome Street but to get there up a 50°slope hill with 1,000 steps would have been nice to know in advance. I had to take a taxi up for $14 each way !
- Jacinta (7/5): - Location is great. This room was smaller than the first room I stayed in. You can't do anything but sleep and shower here. There was nowhere to put luggage so constantly walking over the top of it. Might be ok for one person but not two.
- Jacob (4/5): It’s a dated property, due for some renovations. Management could be a bit more proactive with focusing on the safety of - The property is situated well in the city We booked a 2 night stay at SoHo. The first night had issues when we went to have a shower and the ceramic/porcelain soap holder was broken and “made safe” with tape. Reception only operates from 8am to 8pm, so it was too late in the evening to sort this out at that point. The next morning when speaking with reception, they offered a soft drink as a resolution, noting that they are fully booked and that maintenance were made aware of the issue yesterday and wouldn’t be able to fix it until the next week. Pushing back on that, they found us another room and said the manager was unable to offer any other compensation.
We appreciated the room change, but made it clear that it was inappropriate to put us in a room with a safety risk of falling and cutting ourselves on the broken soap holder in the first place. They offered complimentary breakfast the following morning and that was the best they could do.
It’s disappointing that we had to push for a room change and for an acknowledgment that putting us in a room with a broken soap holder which could lead to a safety risk.
- Fardeen (1/5): Horrible poor depressing waste of money - Nothing Balcony door slightly stayed open and wouldn’t close or open so I was just stuck w cold wind air and rain coming into the room then the rest of the time just stuck inside the little room due to the door not opening
