Guest Reviews
- Ann (2/5): Dirty and unpleasant - This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The rooms were dirty, furniture was old and broken, there were mosquitoes getting in through a broken bathroom window, the fridge was filthy, the bed linen and sheets were stained and the bathroom was unpleasant with a dirty toilet and old, rusty fixtures and fittings.
We arrived late in the evening so had no choice but to stay one night. I had booked and prepaid for 2 rooms for 8 nights. The hotel was so bad we simply could not stay past the first night. I requested a refund for the remaining stay which the management refused. All in all it was a massive mistake booking this hotel, please do not make the same costly mistake
- Chaitali (4/5): - Rooms are very scattered.. swimming pools are not clean.. bathrooms are not clean. Breakfast is also not good
- FAKHRUDDIN (8/5): - Our stay in this hotel was awesome, had a great time, it’s just 5 mins walking distance from Candolim beach and there are many good restaurants near the property at 5 mins walk. They also gave us early check in and late check out facilities on request. The receptionist was really very polite and welcoming, overall a nice and friendly staff. We plan again Just one thing, the geyser wasn’t working well. Otherwise all good
- Arturo (10/5): - Personal very helpful and location is good
I was very happy staying there.
- Ramakant (6/5): - Very badly maintained..
- Patricia (6/5): - Very basic but quite comfortable. Breakfast was very unorganised. In a very good location near the shops bars and beach. The restaurant and bar on the complex wasn't open which was a shame but plenty of restaurants nearby. Swimming pool was ok but the sun beds were really dirty. We would return on a room only basis because of its good location.
- Gary (8/5): good for a last min choice of accommodation only - Apartment was very clean spacious and the mattresses were very comfortable. the pools were also well maintained, however the apartment was spartan with the exception of 4 small glasses, there was no cooking facilities, not even a spoon. There was no safe or minibar as per description however we did borrow a kettle from reception.
Would I book same again? No there are several fully furnished private rentals at the same complex at a cheaper rate
- Elaine (10/5): Great budget hotel - It does what it says on the tin ! A great location with a comfortable room .
Breakfast was adequate and a choice of 7 pools .
Staff were friendly and helpful . We would have no hesitation going there again !
Great value for money for a basic 3 star hotel .
Immaculately kept.
- Jaymal (10/5): Amazing hotel! - Best hotel ever! Have stayed here for the last 7 years! Amazing staff and food. The best rooms are given and they are cleaned everyday.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, first class management and a lovely ambience make the Highland Beach a great place for a holiday. The Ambassador Suite with its two bedrooms/ensuites means my partner and I can also have a holiday from each other! Roomy, clean with presented grounds the hotel ticks all the boxes for me. Positioned close to the main road and beach, but secluded enough to be tranquil and calm. I cannot recommend it highly enough and am looking forward to my fourth stay in the near future.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average at best! - Unfortunately, as with all hotels in Goa 'DON'T TAKE ANY NOTICE OF THEIR WEBSITE! Rroom advertised with free water, English Paper and kettle (still waiting for the first two and got the kettle after 3 days of pestering. Bed comfortable but sheets changed once and towel not changed at all. View from one balcony was of rubbish dump which was a breeding ground for flies (killed over 50 on second night). The Hotel does have some good rooms, unfortunately, I didn't get one! It is a reasonable hotel for Goa but after checking out some others, I know where I will be going next time.
- Jacqui (10/5): - This was an amazing holiday.. im a wheelchair user and found the hotel accessible in most things for Goa. The hotel is central for most everything. Staff cant help you enogh and was spotless clean.. great 3 weeks thankyou
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Rooms are big and spacious but thats as good as it gets padlock to lock door so you can't lock it if you are back in room before others. Not enough dpace at breakfast for amount of guests
Rooms are not very clean and badly need upgrading
Beds like bricks
- Chandra (10/5): Good hotel - Good hotel ..............................Very nice location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice Hotel Close to Beach and local shopping - Front desk staff could smile more and give better service.
Wifi hardly works, Desk staff had all sorts of excuses why Wi Fi not working.
Pools were great, not enough deck chairs, had to give deposit for towels.
Breakfast service very slow and confusing.
- Milind (8/5): 2 min distance from candolim beach. - Food outlets & market area very near to this property & approachable.
- Suvarna (4/5): shabby and horrible - It was a horrible stay at the hotel. The pics that were shown at the time of booking were those of premium suite and I got a less than budget room! Dingy , small it can hardly be called a suite. For a start, there was no door lock to the room.there were those ancient locks. so we had to open the door from inside when either of us went out. The fan switches were out of order. old and remote and so could not control the speed. there were only two plug points in the entire so called suite. there was no bidet in the toilet!Nobody cleaned the room unless we requested several times. the toiletries were always less. The power kept fluctuating several times in a day.the telephone extension didnt work so we had to go down for everything. the wifi was so so in the lobby and very bad in the rooms. The breakfast buffet was most average .ALl in all it wasa lousy , old, dingy place with bad service .Definitely over priced for what its worth. strongly recommend against this hotel to my fellow travellers. Please keep away from this place.
- Abhishek (2/5): Highland Beach Hotels is Bad - Unclean, cockroaches in the room, hotel staff lethargic and un-cooperative. Work done at a snails pace.
- Sue (8/5): Read previous poor reports. - Having read previous poor reports - especially about not getting clean towels etc. We were a little bit wary.
But we never found this to be a problem. We had clean sheets and towels at a regular interval and the room boys were very efficient in cleaning the rooms daily. Coming back on occasions when it was convenient for us.
- Cyril Francis (6/5): Decent enough - Good location for shops, transport in both directions, and restaurants with lots of nightlife and music. A fair distance to the beach. Breakfast always the same-cereal, toast, butter, marmalade and choice of egg dishes. Snacks and food were good. Pool mainly empty throughout, and good sized. Wi-fi was diabolical, but that was a problem in the entire area. Passwords needed to be changed every three days, contacting reception. New Sheets, linen and towels required. No kettle, hairdryer, or beverage-making facilities. In need of some modernisation. Evening entertainment consisted mainly of one-man bands, which were okay. Electricity outages were somewhat of a nuisance. Many tourists from the UK and Russia, with a few children.
