Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): 很超值的一島一飯店 - 整體從機場的接送到飯店,都非常的滿意,房間很舒適,餐點還可以,安排的活動也很棒,建議活動的時間可以長一點(獨木舟一直都沒排到),還有可以多一點活動。
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We've been here before so we already knew that the rooms are worn, that there's no WiFi in the room (and in the public areas where there is - it's poor), that the grounds need more attention, and that the public restrooms near the sports desk are disgusting. The boats are also awful, with uncomfortable plastic benches. We returned anyway because the view is spectacular, the pools are fantastic, and the food at the restaurant is OK and reasonably-priced. Having no other such island resort option near PP, we'll likely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5):

- Gi (10/5): - Stayed here for 3 nights 4 days and My husband and I had a great time. Although, I wouldn’t stay here longer than that. There’s no planned activities during the day and we kinda got bored on the 3rd day. It’s about an hour boat ride from the main land so you need to pretty much eat and chill on the resort. Food was great and they were very accommodating to all our needs. The spa was amazing and I got the best massage there. Wish they had a gym or planned activities during the day. Connection isn’t that great and only worked near the reception area. I felt really bad for the other restaurant staff cause I generally would tip a lot and there was this was staff member that kept taking over our table even though we were first served by someone else. The bartenders were all nice and were really good at their job. Better than bartenders I see here in Canada. Overall the stay was great and would take the kids here next time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 자녀들이 있는 가족들이 휴양하기 좋은 장소. 리조트에 모든 것이 구비되어 있네요. 맛집 식당, 친절한 직원, 멋있는 자연 환경, 무료 스노클링, 무료 카약 등등.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The island with it's beaches is very beautiful.
- Sze Man (10/5): A super family getaway! - A very good place for a getaway from the busy city life, especially with family. Though the internet did not work well and no TV, there but it was indeed a good option for a retreat, with easy access to the beach and pools, with assorted recreation activities. Even there was an art house where the artist taught kids to create sand art. Very friendly and nice staff. One of the best experience!
- Roxie (10/5): - If you’re looking for a place to relax this is the place to be.
- Chih-han (10/5): 度假的好地方 - 很棒的地方,適合來這邊放空,但是大概一晚就夠了,因為附近的活動沒有很多,員工們都很熱情!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 護士非常的盡責,給我們非常好的醫療以及服務!還有景色一絕,靛藍色的海,夢幻紫的夕景,真的不枉此行
- Chloe (4/5): Nice wildlife but so-so beach and terrible room - VERY very worn-out rooms. No view from the room as the windows are frosted. Aircon is incredibly old and noisy.
This being said, we did not expect an amazing room and came mainly for the beach and wildlife.
The wildlife was amazing, with baby sharks swimming in the lagoon and a huge mangrove that was a nursery for stingrays and probably many other creatures. Snorkelling is great to the right of the pier (ie. not in the designated snorkelling area!).
The beach was not good, it gets muddy as soon as you step in the water and many weeds - there is no clean sandy lagoon to swim in. Sand is nice out of the water but the beach area is quite small since most of the shoreline is covered with mangrove. Overall, expensive for Philippines.
- sookyung (4/5): 에어콘 고장 - 룸 에어콘이 물이 방쪽으로 세어 바닥이 흥건 했어요. 첫날에
- MICHAEL JASON (10/5): Great stay, relaxing.. - I hope next time there will be perculators in the rooms... our stay was great and very relaxing... overall we're very much happy on our stay at Dos Palmas.
- C.K. Danke Dos Palmas!
- Daniel (4/5): old and boring - old and boring. staff were nice but the place was not worth going to. no quality in the buildings or amenities. Its a two star at best. will never return.
- hyun ju (10/5): - 리조트 전체 시설, 리조트프로그램, 스파맛사지 모두 만족했습니다.
기회가 닿는다면 다시 가고 싶어요
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The resort grounds are very nice and well kept. Nice beach and pool. The room is 3-star quality. The restaurant is ugly, the food is OK, excellent free coffee. The restrooms near the marine activities desk are gross: dirty, dilapidated and smelly. The boat used to transfer from the wharf to the island is an uncomfortable experience: old, crowded, plastic benches. The free snorkeling trip was fun, we found Nemo. WiFi was very spotty, more off than on, but cellular reception was everywhere and LTE data worked just fine. Nice for a quick weekend break; no more than a couple of nights.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property has to be reviewed in context of the price it charges which is extremely competitive. The free shuttle from airport to wharf and then boat transfer to Sos Palmas were highly efficient. The resort is very beautiful and the high light was a gorgeous coral reef several hundred metres from the resort which provides half hourly free boat ride to a permanent pontoon. Spent a couple of hours snorkeling every day there. There is a free boat transfer to an uninhabited island nearby with sand bars worth doing once. The restaurant has excellent food choices and the buffet is fabulous with different food types ever night. Highly recommended. Beersare very reasonable at 90 pesos each. The large swimming pool in front of restaurant is gorgeous. There should be more shades around the pool eg umbrellas. The villas are large though relatively basic and they turn electricity off twice a day am and pm so be sure to turn aircon on again as the room gets heated up quite quickly and even at full blast it never goes below 24 C which is comfortable enough. All the staffs were polite and helpful. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely come back!
- Sally (10/5): Lovely hotel in beautiful private island. - It was lovely isolated private island. All staff were very kind and friendly. Loved their events and free activities. I will definitely visit again soon.
- robert (10/5): Island Paradise - We stayed for 3 nights. Really helpful staff when it came to organising transport to Honda Bay and the boat to the island. The boat ride was rough on the way to the island but very calm on the way back. I would recommend sea sickness tablets if you get travel sick.
All the staff on the island are really friendly especially Janus who always looked after us at every meal.
We went snorkeling every day and the equipment provided is in good condition.
The rooms are clean and aircon works well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pleasant staff with excellent customer service. My family enjoyed our stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the best vacation we ever had! We have a 6months old baby and we still manage to enjoy every amenities they have. Best part of it is their staff! They are very accomodating and warm. We will definitely coming back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Toiletten nicht alle in Ordnung
- Amelia (10/5): - Great resort and extremely friendly staff. We will definitely recommend Dos Palmas to our friends.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Worth the try - It was average but the staff were friendly and courteous. Improve on food choices. It's an island and they don't serve grilled seafood.
No WiFi and TV in the rooms! Bring your own entertainment gadgets.
- Dave (6/5): - We liked the friendly resort staff and good communication with the front office, the main beach, sunsets, views of Palawan and other islands, kayaking, the main pool, some of the food for vegans.
We did not like that some resort staff could not speak English, plastic and other trash just lying around and low level of cleanliness in general, lazy attitude of some resort staff, there was no gym, no internet connection and no TV in rooms, very limited menu for lunch and dinner if you’re vegan.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice, private location. It’s tough to do excursions off of the island and night life is limited.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great time. The staff were well trained. Do not miss the snorkeling in the morning and the visit to the small island with the sandbar for great photos.
- Katherine (10/5): Island paradise - Amazing service, everyone was so helpful and nice. Amazing views and lots of activities to do on the island! It’s great for the price you pay.
Drinks are very strong - be careful! Food portions are big too. Try their cookie bars they are fab.
- P (10/5): - Very nice location. Wish we had stayed an extra night or two. Very relaxing
- suzsnne (10/5): Wedding Anniversay Stay - We had a short but wonderful time. We would definitely recommend and will be back.
Thank you
Suzanne and Craig
- Tara Chand (10/5): - Its an amazing resort to stay, service of the resort is great, very cooperative staff, good vegetarian food at restaurant, nice snorkeling experience. Only flaw in the resort we found that they need to renovate rooms as they look old and tired.
We upgraded our rooms from Beach villas to executive villas and the money spent for that was worth as they are big rooms with big bathrooms.
- Sarah (10/5): A wonderful memorable experience - Top points for me go to the staff at this resort. They are so friendly and helpful and genuine and could not have been lovelier, both those in the hotel and the crew running the boat to and from the resort.
The arrival to the resort was spectacular. The water was crystal clear and the resort looks amazing as you arrive. There are so many activities to partake in and I could definitely spend more time there as we only stayed for 2 nights. The beach is just beautiful and you can snorkel right at the resort (for free) and see lots of colourful fish and there are even baby sharks swimming right up to the shoreline! They can also organise tours such as island hopping, underground river etc.
Food and drinks were very reasonable which is great especially as you don't have any other options on this 1 resort island!
Overall a wonderful experience and I definitely plan to return but for longer next time!
- Shawn (6/5): Excellent Staff, very dated resort. - The staff at the place made the stay, we stayed for 5 days and really enjoyed all the workers and even some of the guests. The rooms are very dated and the beds horribly uncomfortable, hard a rock. The pool is very nice. I had a massage at the Spa and the massage table was full of little bugs that bit me constantly. They should have some sort of a spray to kill these little guys before you get on the table. The food was OK, but certainly not great.
They have no problem charging for every little thing, they say the snorkeling is free but you have to rent the flippers...
We went for a walk around the island and once you leave the guest area the place is a disgusting mess, I do not know why they would not spend a few days and clean the island up. On a positive note, we did see several of the Komodo Dragons running around and a couple in feeding with the baby pigs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): over all a great place - Despite the rooms being a little tired the overall experience is a great one. Facilities are very good, the food excellent and the service first rate. Highly recommended
- HYUN JUNG (10/5): - Wonderful Island, with kindly staff, beach etc. it is reasonable price and closed location at airport.
but this Island get power from petrol. so can hear noise of engine at outside in night
- adrian (10/5): the best resort in Palawan - the resort was nice, very private, and well secured/ safe, and it only took the staff 1 day to learn us and cater to us for the next 3 days. the activities of snorkeling, kayaking, island hopping, swimming, and spa treatments were great for us.
- janet (8/5): Nice hotel with many activists - Perfect hotel for holidays. Best part is they don't have check out time!
- Sanya P (10/5): great stay love it. - beautiful hotel lovely beach white sand Crystal clear blue water we love our stay there for 3 nights would most definitely coming back. the only thing that thing could have been better is Wi-Fi connection wish is was faster and the time I was there the internet wasnt great.
your guest
from U.S.A
- Richard (10/5): Don't go there! I don't want to share! Lol - The employees were outstanding. Great service. The food was scrumptious.
This place is paradise. An absolute jewel in the middle of nowhere. No tv & poor wifi actually improved our stay. We spent more time communicating.
- Brandon (10/5): Great get away ! - Dos Palmas is a great get away island resort. Not to be confused with a city hotel. The hotel is a getaway place ( from the world ) NO TV not much internet and cellular signal is not that great ( not the fault of the hotel) Although, we were told GLOBE is the best carrier in that area.
After the reservation i received an email ( check your junk mail ) confirming the reservation and provided details of the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Plan your flights early.... last boat for the Island is 4:00 pm. It would be nice if they had a bigger sign at the meet up point ( small detail ) We were taken to a place and were checked in and then took the 1 hour boat ride to the hotel.
The place is beautiful and well kept. The food is good. Ricoe and Adrian were good servers.
One night was entertainment at dinner with fire dancers / breathers and songs and dances from the local people.
Overall great experience if you want to get away and not be stuck on your phone or TV.
- Nicole (8/5): Secluded paradise - Stayed here in March 2017 if you want quiet seclusion this is your place views are amazing pools are great spa is awesome, my only criticism is the room is dated and it would be better suited as all inclusive as you have no choice but to eat in the hotel restaurant as there is nothing else around, the hotel is the only place on the island and the WiFi isn't all that great. Staff are very friendly. After doing a ten day tour of Philippines this hotel was a quiet change to the non stop hustle of mainland
- Rafael (10/5): Island Paradise - Enjoy a private island with all the snorkel kayak activities include in the price.
The price include transportation from puerto princesa , in regular hours , excelent breakfast buffet.
- Matti (10/5): Perfect paradise resort with easy access - Fantastic resort! We stayed four nights with 2 and 5 year old kids and we loved every part of the resort. Great pool (there's even a lap pool, my wife loves to do her morning swims), stunning beach and an all around paradise. I play basketball myself and played with the staff every day. The level of the pick up games is actually pretty decent which I didn't expect. Service was perfect on all fronts and the place was tiptop clean. Food in restaurant could've been a bit healthier, but hey this is Philippines, nothing is healthy.
- Elaine (8/5): Well kept island resort - The grounds, the facilities, especially the common washrooms, were always clean and presentable. The room was very comfortable and clean. The AC worked well but noisy. The free wifi was only available in the restaurant...should extend to rooms. The food selection was good. We specially appreciated the early breakfast that was prepared for us before our early morning underground river tour. The staff was awesome...always someone there to help us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Awesome Stay - One of the best vacations I have had in recent times . Great Hospitality. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
- Martins (10/5): Better than price suggested - For the price quoted, i was surprised what we got.
Pros:
- place itself - it's not 500 EUR/USD island resort, but it's def more than what you paid for;
- prof.staff and it's attitude, staff taking an active part in evenings show - really, best staff in our Phills experience of 6 different hotels;
- pool, drinks and a la carte.
Cons:
- travel time to get to the island (1h+ in boat seemed too much);
- no TV in the room;
- dinner buffet sounds better than it is (to European expectations at least).
If ever coming back to Palawan, will for sure stay here. Recommend 4+ nights to enjoy everything they offer.
- Fernando (10/5): Perfect Paradise - It was simply perfect. The room looking the sea, the whole staff and particularly anyone that I was interacting with, they made this the best stay ever... This small hotel island will be always my getaway place when I close my eyes. It is 4 star for a reason, adjust your expectations and enjoy fully the stay.
- Stuart (8/5): Nice hotel, despite its shortcomings - I an not a moaner/groaner, so I always accentuate the positives in order to enjoy a holiday and, overall, I had very good experience at this hotel. The rooms are old, the beach is iffy and the snorkelling was pants, but I had a good time and was well looked after. Good to have a free transfer fro the airport by minibus and boat as it is quite remote.
- philip (10/5): nice big island resort with nice pool - lots of things to do very relaxing with large rooms and balconies mosquito spray would be helpful in rooms also there should be a way to book a bike for say 2 hours at present bikes are old and the few that are available are taken and hidden
overall the resort is nice and there are plenty of activities with nice food and shows every night pool is very good it is very oriented towards water activities
- antony (10/5): Friendly staff, helpfull, relaxing place, amazing - overall great service and friendly staff. Amazing place for relaxing. Food wasn't really super just average. I would definitely go again.
- Shirley (6/5): - It was a great place. The only downside was the rooms are outdated and seems like they havent had any renovations or upkeeping done for the longest time. Food selection is scarce. Its good to have a vacay here for a day or two but after that it gets a little boring. Not recommended for a long time stay.
- Blanca (10/5): Beautiful hotel in your own island - I loved being in the little island where the hotel is located. It is your own world. The days went by fast. There is plenty to do. They have an even smaller island where you can go swimming. I went several times. I found my own swimming hole and spend the whole time there. There is snorkeling too, many fish there. There is kayaking, swimming, massages, two pools and service to wherever you are! The food is really good at the restaurant. The menu is very diverse even after several days we did not have to repeat, and the staff is great. Everyone was friendly and willing to help. It is definitely a place to enjoy the ocean, the outdoors, and eating great foods. There is no need to stay in the room, although very comfortable, I hardly spent any time there besides the time sleeping.
- Marie (6/5): A Pretty Island with beautiful people and UN maint - The hotel has good staff that are helpful but the facilities have already lost the glory it did obviously have. They were not maintained and if repaired it was repaired poorly. The bikes that they talk about that can be used is so scarce you barely find one. When you do find one it is rusty.
The food and service is good specially the guy key and Harvey and of course the water and serenity of the island is just beautiful
- Sanse (8/5): Relaxing and fun four days at Dos Palmas - Overall, the hotel lives up to my expectations. It is very clean, rooms are spacious, less people, polite and attentive staff, quiet, tasty foods . Time schedules are followed, so no unpleasant surprises. There are plenty of activities available (biking, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.) to keep you busy if you want to.
- Catherine (8/5): Simple pleasures at Dos Palmas - Very pleasant stay at a simple island resort. Transportation was excellent and it was easy to relax. Beautiful sunset views across the water. However, the beds were very hard and there was no hot water. Our attempt to use the resorts snorkeling platform was curtailed when the motor of the only small boat died.
- Jennifer (8/5): Overnight Island Hopping - This is a nice complement to a visit to Palawan. If you want to make island hopping an overnight experience, this is a good way to do it. No tv in the rooms, but lots of activities to keep you busy. The bikes are pretty rickety, but a perfect way to get around the resort. Snorkeling is on a small reef just off shore. A boat will take you there during scheduled times, but I swam out there on my own and enjoyed it tremendously. I went scuba diving in Helen's Garden. Some coral fading, but the giant clams are fun, and I saw eel, lion fish, HUGE shrimp, puffer fish, and some crazy cool corals.
- Ricky (8/5): - We stayed for 3 nights- overall we enjoyed our stay due to the gorgeous location, the weather and the water sports. The room was a let down - it was a bare, run down room, with tired décor and noisy AC. Whilst most time was spent out of the room, it would have been nice for a resort like this to maintain it's facilities.
Pros
- Friendly, helpful staff
- Good, reasonably priced a la carte options (with separate Vegan menu!), and nice breakfast buffet
- Unlimited use of kayaks
- Unlimited snorkelling from their floating station 250m from the beach. Snorkelling was fantastic. We saw a huge array of marine life including colourful coral, baby swordfish, clownfish and many others!
- Included boat trip to sister island, which has two sandbars. Enjoyed the experience but would have loved a longer time on the island itself!
- Reasonably priced Spa - which was clean and professional
- A lap pool as well as "infinity" pool
- Lots of bikes for cycling round the island, or from facility to room etc
- Entertainment each evening
Cons
- Rooms need updating (as above)
- No power between 10-11 & 4-5. This should be advertised before booking
- A 4* resort should really have a gym
- Tennis courts need maintenance!
- Last evening was disappointing - a large conference party was using the restaurant. They were assigned all the prime seats for the entertainment, and had use of the mic afterwards ... they were very loud, ruining the ambience for guests wanting a quiet romantic evening
- Tree (10/5): 3 Days in paradise - We loved our stay on this beautiful island, the transfer from Hong wharf to Dos Palmas Took approximately 45 minutes the boat team were extremely friendly as word the staff at the hotel from reception to waiters everybody made us feel special. Unfortunately the island is suffering from the eff which isnnnnsing drought around that area of the Palawan, however The beach and underwater garden made up for this, the coral was teaming with fish and was so colourful we also saw the best ever sunsets and we have seen a few having travelled to many destinations in the world.
- Craig (10/5): Fantastic island paradise - What a great resort this is. From the super-straightforward transfer to the welcome on the island, the staff were excellent. The resort is in very good condition, clean and tidy with many features included in the price (snorkels, masks, island trips) where others would charge. Those concerned about price gouging need not worry, as the food and drink are very reasonable considering they have no competition! We went as a couple with a 3 year-old daughter and all of un had a fantastic time, for a romantic or young family getaway I can't recommend it enough.
Finally the local singing and dancing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday was great fun - with audience participation!
- Mark (8/5): Good Room, Diving, Food, GREAT Spa - A 75 minute ferry ride from Puerta Princessa brings to the island of Arricife and the resort where you will find all the amenities you need. Our room was nice, a four-plex villa (stacked duplexes) one common wall. Air-con (electricity is turned off 1000-1100 and 1600-1700 each day). No internet except in restaurant and office. No TV in room; no bath; shower was spacious; hot water plentiful. Full service spa; nightly entertainment; billiards, darts, etc.
We enjoyed our stay, staff is very helpful. On site dive shop is well equipped for the sport diver. PADI certified. Spa is great, book early as it is popular.
The swimming pool is a treat, very well designed; the water is slightly cool upon entering - a welcome relief from the winter heat. Pool water is supplied by on site desal facilities which leaves the water with a slight mineral taste. Pool water IS sanitary and the few swallows I had while adjusting my dive gear had no ill effects. The drinking water is great, provided by the same desal facility, but run through a second stage of desalinization. (Pure water, no mineral taste)
The dive shop was convenient and helpful. My partner was unfamiliar with diving and the care of the divemaster made her first open water dive a real treat.
There are no other options on the island for food or beverage - but there is no need either, as the resort has good food and priced fairly.
The staff puts on a dance show some nights (traditional dances; fire dancing). Live music other nights.
- Dayday (10/5): - For dos palmas MR.Key Largo is the best asset of the hotel, he did exceed my expectations as guest relations officer, best employee, very helpful, nice w everyone, has excellent cust service, for 4days that we were ther he planned and hepled us w all activities out there...kids had soo much fun! Room needs more lighting and would it be nice if patio sliding is glass to see the outside :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spent 3 nights at this tropical island resort. - The rooms were large and well decorated. The food selection was good and very tasty. Lots of activities onsite. Staff was terrific and very helpful.
- Billy Joe (8/5): Sweet serendipity! - I am a 90% satisfied guest. The Staff, first and foremost, are GREAT as well as the services. The activities are 110% awesome, if it's not free, it's very cheap. Only the facilities needs an architectural upgrade/improvement, not just the aesthetics but the utilities as well. The food is 100% AMAZING! Not too mention the poor internet connection which is not a big deal if you are in a beautiful island like this. Nonetheless Dos Palmas is 100% recommendable.
- Bing (6/5): Great Snorkeling!!! - Takes 1.25 hours to get to hotel from Honda Bay wharf. Make sure to get schedule of boat. We missed one and waited 2 hours for the next. Great island. Free Kayaking and Snorkeling included and bikes free to use. Room was big with balcony. Bed too firm. No internet, no tv in room. Spotty internet by bar and front desk. Beach is not really swimable, very sharp broken corals all around. It's not white sand beach. More of a light brown color. Bring water shoes! When snorkeling rent fins. A few in our group got cuts from corals! Do not take any shells, it is illegal, you can go to prison. Electricity is turned off 2 times a day for 1 hour. It is to recharge their generators. Staff is great and food is good. Overall a great stay!
- Jerry (8/5): Secluded Island Resort - The staff at this resort were excellent, customer service is where this place shines. The facility was OK also, this is a secluded island with limited internet and no tv. The rooms are clean and have an adequate air conditioner. The beach, snorkeling, kayaking, pool, and restaurant food are enough to make up for the lack of technology. Who wants to sit in their room and surf the internet when you can walk on a wonderful beach?
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Love the food choices and all tastes good. Staff is very attentive and service is top notch. Definitely get your moneys worth!
- Sonny (10/5): Very nice experience! - Hotel staff were very courteous and friendly. The place was awesome!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Christmas in Paradise - We stayed for Christmas at the resort. Positives: It was nice to be picked up and dropped off at the airport. Although nearly fully-booked, we never felt like the resort was crowded. The staff was very friendly and fast when a request was made (Internet pw arrived within minutes). Food was inexpensive and not too bad in taste. Negatives: It did take a long time to get there, and the last boat to and from island is around 4ish (this is not the resorts fault, but I didn't realize and we ended up having to stay a night in Manila). Rooms are clean, but the bathrooms need a deep scrub due to mold. Our bathroom had a 7x1 inch strip of orange mold on the floor. It was gross. There is a lot of seaweed in the water and on the beach. So not really a place to swim and lounge on the beach, but the pool is really nice and made up for that. My biggest disappointment was they have pics of the water cottages, but they are no longer there (last ones being removed in 2014). I tried asking a few staff members, and either they didn't understand me, were new, or pretended they didn't know what I was talking about. When I finally got an answer, it was a bit awkward. I wonder if they thought I was going to get upset. I heard other guests get upset about it. Overall, the resort was quite nice and we enjoyed our Christmas there! I felt we got a great deal!
- Roque (8/5): A secluded island - Wonderful! We were there for one night. So worth it! A fun boating adventure just getting there and back. The front desk is so accommodating. All the staff very helpful and friendly.
Always eat the buffet food. My advice is to not order from the a La carte menu. Although it is still good food... Just remember you're on an island and they have to store the food so the buffet for is the freshest of all.
Wonderful pools, spa, beach, scuba and snorkel rentals included, bike rentals for all guests included, Island adventure trip included... Wow.
- Dave (10/5): Outstanding Place for a relaxing vacation - Outstanding vacation spot. Hotel and grounds are very well kept. Rooms are clean and very comfortable, I was impressed. The staff makes the trip worthwhile. So very friendly and accommodating. Love them all. Wish I can adopt a few of them.
For me the snorkeling just offshore was the best. Super coral formations and an abundance of fish for being so close to the facility. My next visit I will learn to dive for a greater experience.
Our treat was the breakfast buffet every morning. Our best meal of the day. All you can want. I look forward to the mango mint refreshers every time I relax at the pool. And the pool, is so very clean and well kept. Just like the pictures. Our favorite place to spend time to relax.
This is not a place you will get treated to a busy night life. If you want a relaxing and comfortable vacation this is the spot. We would wake up with the sun and go to sleep when it was dark. My wife loved to sing with the video karaoke every night.
The Spa ladies did a great job adding to our relaxation. We did more than we planned because it was so nice. The clean and nice lap pool added to my experience as well.
I can't say enough good things about the place. I am hoping we have made lifelong friends and plan another visit next year.
I wish to thank everyone at the facility for the experience they gave us. From the bottom of our hearts. They work so hard to make our visit rewarding.
- Daisy (10/5): - great experience and great staff
- Stephane (6/5): Amazing island - Beautiful island but the hotel is in need to be updated.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay :) - Great stay :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Delightful stay in paradise - Beautiful accommodation on the island. Rooms were generouse sized and comfortable.
Restaurant serves delicious foods, the crabs were to die for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great service and a great team.
We had a very memorable time and will return soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is old and an hour away by boat, very few boats a day and this limits. The staff is great and try to do everything to make you happy. Out standing stsff and service
- Verified traveler (8/5): Dos Palmas review - Warm hospitality by all the staff. The room needs upgrading.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel and very secluded. - The rooms were very nice. There was a power outage each day from 1600-1700 which made it weird if you were in your room. The wifi was not very good either, but it wasn't bad either way. I would recommend this resort overall.
- mark (10/5): South Seas Paradise in the PI - Considering all that is included, from shuttle service to boat trip, to a villa by the beach, to excellent food including great breakfast buffet, Dos Palmas is special, and happily affordable. I hope to be back.
It,s somewhat inconvenient, but worth it.
- Jesslyn (10/5): Amazing Vacation - I absolutely loved my stay at Dos Palmas. My fiance and spent two nights here. On our way there we were running late from our flight so they held the last ferry for us so we would make it. The ferry ride had an amazing view of Palawan and other surrounding islands. The beach villa was literally on the beach with a real beachy feel. The soap and shampoo even smelled good. We enjoyed free snorkeling and they gave us bread to feed the fishes. Really amazing experience. The food and drinks in the restaurant were delicious. The best part was how wonderful all the staff were, The spa ladies were kind and did a great job and everyone working was super helpful and kind. I always felt safe and comfortable. The management is really good about making sure you have transportation from the airport there and back!!:)
It was very cool that we were in our own private paradise. They had these bicycles for the guests to rude around that made getting around fun and easy. Not that walking wasn't a bad idea.
On one of the nights, they had open karaoke, and that was also exciting! :)
Also the warf where the ferry docks is only 30 minutes from the airport. The underground river though is about an hour and half from the dock. But definitely do able.
Just make sure you book you flight with th fact in mind that there are certain ferry boat times out and from the island! :)
- Lilibeth (10/5): Stunning resort - The resort itself was beautiful and the hotel has excellent facilities; however, unfortunately the Reception staff are not very welcoming and it is difficult to get a hold of anyone by phone or email. We emailed the hotel to arrange pick up from the bus terminal. After a few days we had still not received any response so we emailed again. The hotel did not respond to either of our emails. I phoned the hotel the day before I was due to check in to try again to arrange pick up and complained about not receiving an email response to which the Receptionist insisted that they had emailed back and then hung up on me. Also they could have been more helpful in arranging a tour of the underground river when their tour operator was fully booked by informing us that we could have arranged for it ourselves even after we told them that this was the reason that we came to Palawan. However, the rest of the staff we experienced were very attentive and helpful.
- Emily (10/5): An island of my dream - The whole process of coming to this island was well organised, from the pick up point the van was on time taking us to Honda bay then off to Dos Palmas via boat waiting on the wharf. It was such a pleasant and a hustle free experience though we did a day tour in the past which was also delightful experience. Still couldnt get off my mind staying there as if i am only dreaming. Staff are friendly and accomodating. The entertainment at dinner time was an excellent idea, though other activities like trivia night and a live band or folk singers can also be a good alternative. Day 2 taking us to this tiny island where you can snorkel all day was the highlight of our stay. Pristine waters, protected coral reefs and fishes bubbling on a torquoise sea and friendly boatmen/camera man/ photographer makes my day in the island. My husband and I loved our short but invigorating stay in this beautiful island. If you truly love peace and pure relaxation and basically wants to do nothing at all like me, come and visit Dos Palmas, my paradise, my la isla bonita. 😊😊🌴🌴☀️☀️
- Shike (8/5): Nice and quiet island hotel - It was really beautiful and the staff was really friendly. The lifeguard named Carlos was really funny and we had a blast at the Puting Buhangin! Thank you Dos Palmas!
- dean (8/5): - need a little update here and there..but overall experience was excelent. :)
- Roy (8/5): - One of the best places, very quiet, relaxing, isolated, great activities, i do recommend this hotel for 3 days only where you have to make sure to catch scuba diving from the 1st day, i really loved it and hope i ll visit it back soon
- Joy (8/5): Beautiful resort!! Loved it! - We had a fantastic stay at Dos Palmas!! Our little kids also thoroughly enjoyed the resort and its facilities. The service is super!! All the staff are willing to provide for your needs promptly and with a smile! We enjoyed the Discover Scuba experience with Instructor Albert. He was patient and helped us to have a excellent introduction to scuba diving!
The swimming pool, spa and kids area were all very well utilized by us. The ferry and its staff were very friendly, kind and helpful. The location itself is very pretty.
The only suggestion is regarding the variety and taste of the food served in the ala carte menu. The breakfast was great! However, dinner buffets were OK. The options and flavour of the menu can definitely be improved. The drinks were EXCELLENT!!
Regarding room cleanliness.. the first few days the housekeeping was on the job.Later we found that sometimes the toilet wasn't cleaned properly. We also had a midnight visitor with whiskers --a rat-- searching for food. It is to be expected in such locales however we had a baby with us and so we were more concerned. I made the staff aware of this and was told a rat trap would be set up. But that didn't happen. Fortunately it almost at the end of our trip and the rat had let itself out so it didn't cause further concern.
Overall ...it is an HIGHLY RECOMMENDED place to bring families and enjoy Palawan. Thanks to all the hardworking staff.
- Kelly (8/5): Good resort for family and couples - It's a very nice and secluded resort especially for the travelers with children. The villas are older, but they are clean and all furnishings were fine. Snorkeling, island hopping, and kayaking are included in their services with no additional cost. The pool and grounds are maintained well, and staff very friendly. We would stay there again!
- Rose, RN (10/5): Nice Resort by the Beach. - Good experience, however, a/c is turned off twice a day for one hour.
- Marcelo (8/5): All in one place - Everything was great and well organised. The only down point is the wifi that never works. When you advertise a service it should be provided.
- Chloe (8/5): Perfect getaway - The quality of service was to a high standard. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was limited (given you are on an island) but there was enough range for choice for the length of our stay. You can ride bikes around the island and there are so many picture perfect places at the resort itself. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
- . (6/5): . - Nothing more to say. Nothing more to say. Nothing more to say. Nothing more to say. Nothing more to say.
- mon (8/5): dos palmas under construction - we have a pleasant stay at dos palmas. our beach villa is in the middle of the villas, so biking was an option to us. due to limited time, we didnt experience kayaking and snorkeling in the island. the room has no TV, maybe purposely to keep you away from the nuances of the NEWS. the staff is great, i made special mention to KEI, he is everywhere and helped us there.
- Amy Poppaw (10/5): Perfect Get Away! - Stayed with my husband and everything is awesome! We enjoyed the bikes, swimming pool, the facility, the snorkeling!
- Rich (8/5): Very nice hotel, right next to the beach. - Excellent and friendly staff; relaxing island, away from it all.
- Ben (4/5): Great Idea, not that well executed. - The accommodations are about what I expected, decent rooms beach access, bar and restaurant areas, etc. The thing I did not expect was the below average food. That is my biggest complaint, having to pay for horrible food and having no other option for the entirety of your stay really stinks.
