• Socorro (10/5): Hotel histórico e bem localizado. - Hotel tradicional e histórico, localiza-se a poucos metros da cidade velha. Antigo, mas bem conservado e limpo. O quarto é espaçoso e o banheiro confortável. Não tem estacionamento, mas é fácil e seguro deixar o carro bem na frente do hotel.
• María Alejand (2/5): Reserva x la página no reserva nada. - Hice la reserva x la página y cuando llegue no tenía lugar. Un día de suspensión de Buquebus, tampoco contestaba el teléfono. La justificación fue que no sabía mirar la Compu. Me quede sin reserva y con las disculpas.
• Denerval (2/5): Nota 0 para o atendimento, nora 1 para localização - O que mais nos marcou foi o péssimo atendimento da recepcionista que fez nossa entrada no Hotel, grossa, arrogante, mal educada e despreparada para lidar com público. Os demais funcionários foram educados e prestativos. O hotel fica na Avenida General Flores, localizada no Bairro Histórico, onde estão as principais atrações turísticas da cidade. Porém, os quartos são muito apertados, ficam em andares mais altos e não há elevadores, se você estiver com malas pesadas se prepare. Banheiro sofrível, pequeno e mal conservado. As fotos são bem melhores que a realidade. Café da manhã com pouca variedade. A piscina não estava aquecida, praticamente não conseguimos nadar. A sauna só funciona de sábado. Consultamos outros hotéis melhores com o mesmo valor.

• manuel (8/5): Un lugar para pasarlo bien !!! - Hola ! Quiero decir que estuvimos 3 noches en el hotel y tuvimos excelente trato de todo el personal. Todo muy limpio y destaco lo silencioso del hotel porque es primordial tener un buen descanso. Algo para destacar también es que podés traer la comida de afuera y usar las instalaciones del comedor... Volveríamos a hospedarnos en el hotel por todo lo antes dicho y por su excelente ubicación si volvemos a Colonia. Para mejorar diría : la cama matrimonial era 2 camas arrimadas por lo cual se hundía la unión de los dos colchones.

• Shafeeqahi (6/5): Needs work - Perfectly located right in the middle of everything, with lovely explorable little roads and coves all around, and lovely kind ladies staffing the hotel. Breakfast was varied and delicious. But the hotel really isn't in a great state. My private room had a very lumpy and unstable bed, dirty- and dusty-looking carpets and a mouldy shower. After seeing the bathrooms I didn't dare swim in the pool or use the spa. If they could upgrade the facilities this could be a great, quaint hotel.
• Gabriel (10/5): Lugar estratégico para disfrutar de Colonia de Sac - Reiteramos nuestra visita a Colonia en Hotel Esperanza, estratégicamente ubicado para disfrutar de Colonia de Sacramento. En la calle principal a una cuadra del Barrio Histórico y a 2 del Puerto y 4 de la Rambla. Además la atención fue super buena, pudimos disfrutar de la piscina y de que nos acompañe nuestra Shih tzu. El precio muy razonable. Perfecto.

Só não vale 5 estrelas porque não tem estacionamento gratuito conforme informado no anúncio e consequentemente na pesquisa. Não chega a ser um grande problema já que há vagas na rua em frente e a cidade é bem segura. Mas ainda assim não corresponde ao anúncio.

• Ana Laura (4/5): TEM BARATAS! PESSIMO - O hotel é simpatico e bem localizado. Porem quando fomos dormir apareceram 2 baratas no quarto, nós fomos ate a recepção pra avisar e a moça só deu um inceticida pra gente...matamos as baratas mas ficamos um com medo de aparecer outras. Na hora de devolver o inseticida perguntei se alguém poderia subir no quarto pra dar uma olhada e a moça (sem nenhuma vontade de ajudar) disse que era NORMAL pois o hotel tinha mais de 200 anos e estava perto do rio. Pessimo!!
• rodsimas (4/5): Not great - Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It is very outdated and not well maintained, there is mold everywhere, the carpet throughout the property is old, the gym and pool are pretty rundown. And, like another review says, it kind of looks like an old asylum (check my picture below) But the location is as good as it gets and the breakfast was ok.

• emrLondon (6/5): Cute place but wouldn't stay again - This was a cute little hotel In a great location but it's definitely outdated and smelled pretty damp in some of the rooms. The spa was pretty shoddy, but didn't want to use the facilities anyway. I stayed as part of a group tour so don't know the cost but would assume it's extremely cheap considering the state of it, though we only stayed for 1 night so didn't matter too much.

• KaiserFerris (6/5): Old hotel, good location - The hotel is right in the centre of the town, so is good from that perspective. It’s pretty old though and our room looked like it hadn’t been decorated in 50 years and wasn’t particularly clean The beds were pretty average, as was breakfast. WiFi was pretty good.

Como Colonia é pequena, você consegue se locomover com facilidade para qualquer canto da cidade, sendo possível vir a pé da rodoviária se você não estiver com muita bagagem. Hotel antigo, com carinha de "casa de vó", mas conta com aquecimento a gás e TV a cabo. Café da manhã simples, mas saboroso. Funcionários prestativos. Se a idéia de visitar Colonia é voltar no tempo, o hotel complementa a experiência de estarmos vivendo novamente no passado.
• XTOS (6/5): Excellent location and friendly staff, but very outdated! - Centrally located hotel with a pleasant staff. Some rooms are more updated than others, but the room I stayed in had very old, musty carpeting and the room had a rather unpleasant odor that only dissipated after opening the windows and turning on the fan at full speed. They also have a fairly decent air conditioning system. The bathroom was somewhat updated and in much better shape than the rest of the room. The bed was old and rather uncomfortable. Breakfast wasn't very good. Coffee was almost undrinkable and the juice seemed like it came from a powder mix. Toast was ok. The spa is also very outdated and the pool area was warm and musty, not very refreshing. The Sauna seemed nice, but it was not operating at the time I was there. Overall, the 3 star rating is based on the low price and the excellent location. This historic inn has SO much potential and could be transformed into an amazing boutique hotel with some careful consideration and effort. I hope they decide to remodel/renovate and make changes. Staff was excellent and very helpful!

• Di (4/5): Visiting Colonia - We spent 2 nights in Colonia and had reserved at Hotel Spa Artemisa ahead of time hoping we’d stay more but we wouldn’t have stayed any longer. There was a torrential rainfall as we arrived at Colonia and the hotel, we had no room electricity. There were quite a few leaks from the rain in corridors, they didn’t seem concerned, didn’t mop up or signalled them even though floors were slippery. There was a short circuit in adjoining room, so they offered us another room, after I complained about the no electricity. No soaps or any toiletries in the room. Very dark with old furniture, not antiques, just old. They obviously don’t clean under beds, found stuff under both. Bathrooms are tiny and water splashes out of the shower, but that seems fairly common here. Bed was king size and nice, not enough pillows though, 4 thin ones only. Sleeping was comfortable but the AC/heater was old and hard to use with remote. What made sleeping difficult was the constant noise outside on the Main Street, motorcycles were riding noisily until 2 am (couldn’t sleep!) and it was a Friday in the off-season (autumn) so I’d hate to think what it must be like in nice summer weather. Breakfast was mediocre at best, processed cheese, not much variety, no fruit salad, just fruits and really bad tasting coffee! The best part was the large warm water pool in the basement, strange but it works, it also has a small hot tub area in the pull but 3 or 4 of the jets didn’t work. The hotel is just too run down.

• Virginia (2/5): - El hotel utiliza publicidad engañosa, ya que no cuenta con estacionamiento propio, lo que expone al peligro el vehículo del pasajero y hace incómodo el traslado con equipaje. No cumple con la ley de protección al consumo, porque dice que el pago se hará en el hotel, y luego afirma que el pasajero eligió un servicio no reembolsable para no devolver el importe descontado de la tarjeta de crédito o débito en caso de no aceptar el servicio mal promocionado.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient Location - The location is centrally located to the sites in Colonia. The rooms are small and require upkeep and updating. The carpeted floor was dirty and your bes to wear flip flops.
• SkidRoad (6/5): Quirky but Good Location - The hotel is located within easy walking distance to all the sites in Colonia. It is also close to the ferry and bus depot. The rooms are very old and in need of updating. There is no elevator to the second floor. The carpets in the room are dirty. The linen and towels were clean and in good shape. The general atmosphere is tired. Breakfast was just adequate but no eggs.

Café da manhã é maravilhoso...completíssimo. A cidade é bem preparada para o turismo (ainda não se assuste com preços altos em alguns locais). Wifi funciona, porém é bem lento Chuveiro é muito bom também

The hotel is well located, just 20 minutes walk from the ferry and bus terminals and only five minutes to the main sights of the old city. The hotel facilities are good with a pool, gym and complimentary breakfast. Rooms are clean, well sized. Good value for money.

(6/5): Caro para lo que ofrecen como habitación. - En general el lugar es limpio pero las dependencias son antiguas, lo que en comparación con el precio de la habitación (100USD aprox) contrasta mucho. Creo que lo recomendaría solo en caso de que el precio fuera más accesible. Lamentablemente fue una reserva de última hora sin mucha opción. La ubicación es muy buena y tiene una piscina a la que puedes acceder que está muy bien dado que hay donde reposar. El café tenía un sabor extraño, asumo que por el agua que usan, lo demás estaba bien en el desayuno.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Übernachtung in Colonia - Wir hatten einen Tag Aufenthalt in Colonia del Sacramento und wir hatten vorab dieses Hotel ausgewählt, weil es gut gelegen ist und eine schöne Ausstattung hat. Das hat sich auch alles erfüllt. Das Ambiente hat uns gefallen und es passt in die Umgebung.

• AnnyD29 (4/5): Air Conditioning saved the day - There is noting "Spa" about this hotel. It screams potential but management does nothing about the peeling paint, rust stained walls, paper thin towels....no warmth or decor at all in this building that has great character. Besides the friendly staff, the only good thing about it was the rooms were air conditioned and after walking around town in 96 degree weather, it was "refreshing" to walk in the dingy, dirty room.
• Irma (6/5): Colonia - The hotel is located in a historical building in the "old city". It is spacious, but a bit rundown with very small rooms. An effort was made to paint the room, but it was done very sloppily. The bathroom was dated and no complimentary soap or shampoo was offered. Breakfast was decent.
• HCovik (4/5): Great location, but otherwise........ - Other than the hotel's location in the center of "old town" and friendly staff, my wife, I, and two travel companions were very disappointed. Granted, it was an old, quaint, spacious (neglected) building and our rooms, apparently, freshly painted (albeit very sloppily) but they were very, very small and didn't remotely look like the room we saw advertised. The room contained a mini-fridge and an (one) outlet to load your phone/laptap. Bathrooms were old and lacked soap and shampoo and one of the two bathrooms had the hot/cold water taps reversed. We only stayed one night.

• 719cheyenneh (8/5): Great hotel as part of tour - Stayed here for one night on a g adventures tour. The rooms were very cute with aircon, fans and a bar fridge. There was a shortage of power points however. The staff were very friendly also. I had some cans I wanted open and they were too happy to help. The pool is beautiful and the breakfast was wonderful. Lots of fresh fruit, ham, cheese, different bread and pastries, coffee, tea, juice, yoghurt. Enjoyed my stay very much :)

• James (4/5): Barely 2 star hotel - The hotel is run down, requires painting and faucet hot and cold water was reversed family member was badly burned. Breakfast area requires air conditioning, as very hot. No elevator, very narrow stair well. No assistance for baggage to the room.

• 488russells (8/5): Right in the historic district - We found this 3 star hotel while walking the Main Street. It was 25% cheaper than another similar hotel closer to the ferry port. We were glad we looked around. It's quaint, historical, and more than basic. They have rooms with different beds -- two twins, one King, a double with twins, etc. Ours had a lovely balcony overlooking the tree-lined street. The staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was closed while we were there, and the sauna only operating on Saturday -- winter season and all... But the gym was still available. Free wifi. Breakfast included pastries, fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese, cereal, juice and coffee. We thought the whole experience was great for the rate we paid.
• Frigiliarte (8/5): Great location and value - Close to the gorgeous old town of colonial, an essential trip to escape the grime and chaos of Buenos Aires. The pool is a bit small and inhibiting but the gym and sauna facilities are more than we expected for the price. Buffet a little basic but similar to what you'd expect in this price range.
• Ruth (6/5): Antique and Antiquated - The location of this hotel is great, right in the Old Village and near many cafes. The public areas of the hotel are fine, lounge, breakfast area and pool. But the hotel was built in 1878 and the rooms show their age. Our first room had black mould on the ceiling. A room change brought us a better ceiling but the shower was a disaster, water poured all over the bathroom floor. The rooms are small and the old wooden doors are difficult to lock. Our room never got cleaned because apparently we didn't hand in our key but no one ever actually told us we were supposed to do this. Colonia is well worth a stay, we walked along the Ramblas and swam at several of the beaches but you would be better off staying at a different hotel.
• Juan_Almanza (2/5): DO NOT STAY IN THIS PLACE!! - We do not recommend to stay in the hotel at all, the place is dirty, the "double bed" is two single beds together, there is spider webs every where, pool looks disgusting and the pictures are photoshopped or something. We didn't even stay, cancel the reservation, off course with no money redound so we lost it and have to pay for another place that cost jus 7 dolars more as was wayyyy to much better. Again DOT NOT STAY in that place, for me is a scam it cost USD$96 (a lot for a place like that) it was another couple who cancel the reservation. Hope you all attend my suggestion.
• Andy (4/5): Historic and NOT in a good way. - There were problems with the electrical system. The ceiling fan and air conditioner did not work in the first room we were given. Inadequate electrical in the second room. Breakfast was minimal.
• jpresotto (6/5): The hotel in Colonia for my future trips - If you expect a brand new and modern hotel, then this is not what you are looking for. The building is rather old, but anyway acceptable for a short stay. Location is very convenient as the old part of the city is around the corner. Also, there are some restaurants across the street, one of them very nice. The street at night is very quiet, and you can have a good sleep. Wi-fi works properly. Breakfast is below expectations. Anyway, the hotel has a great advantage (at least for us): it is one of the few hotels (if not the only one) in Colonia where pets are welcome.
• Disillusioned (6/5): Not The Best Experience - Hotel looked ok on-line, and seemed ok when we arrived. It turned out to be cold soulless place, with no atmosphere at all. Staff weren't so much rude as just very uninterested. Breakfast was sort of ok. TV was terrible, really bad reception, with only about 10 channels, and no BBC World Service, but hay it Colonia. Wouldn't stay there again, thumbs down
• paulrT7994II (8/5): Nice hotel in good location with friendly staff - Pleasant hotel with pool and spa facilities. It was a lot bigger than it seemed with a large underground spa area although this appeared to go mainly unused. Our room was good with a balcony overlooking the main street and there were several communal areas as well. Breakfast was basic but OK and in a sort of a canteen area. Wi-Fi was OK in communal areas but not in our room. Staff were friendly and helpful but not many English speaking. Although the room was overlooking a main road there wasn't a lot of noise. Overall really enjoyed our stay
• 808rp (6/5): nice hotel, centrally located - Nice and friendly hotel, with great atmosphere in Colonia, near restaurants, shops and coastline. Poor wifi. Standard breakfast, nothing fancy. Spacious rooms. Not very clean though. For the price you can find nicer and better.

• Fernando (6/5): Good hotel, nice price, excellent location. - A good hotel, excellent location, very good breakfast, the staff is pleasing and the room very clean. However, there were molds and stains in the walls and ceiling, not very good light, no AC plugs for charging cellphones and other devices, slow internet, and the bed was very low. Too difficult to handle the luggage on it or complicated for elder or handicapped people. I had a good time, but consider this stuff before purchasing.
• KarenMChelmsford (6/5): Excellent location with so much potential ... - Walking distance (10 minutes) from the port, if arriving from Buenos Aires, and 5 minutes from the river front for the highly recommended (and justifiably so) sunsets. Great old building with potential ... not a sympathetic conversion - ceilings still high but original features hidden and rooms quite small Didn't experience the issue of other guests of musty rooms, bathroom tiled with the typical uprights to minimise leakage Breakfast felt more like a hostel which was disappointing seeing as there's a well frequented restaurant - shame breakfast didn't entice the hotel guests to try!
• VamosChicos (10/5): Great location with lovely characterful room - Our room overlooked the Main Street in Colonia. It was so characterful. No problems with noise either. Colonia is a gorgeous town with quaint cobbled streets & some absolutely fabulous & romantic restaurants tucked away (off the main street).
• Tara (8/5): Exceptional staff! - The service was excellent! Julio Cesar deserves employee of the year for going above and beyond. Such a friendly and helpful guy! Come to think of it, all the staff we dealt with were very friendly. The room was good. My only complaint would be the old, shabby carpet, which needs a good cleaning to should just be ripped out altogether. The wifi was a bit spotty in our room but there were several nice common areas to use the Internet as well as a free and rarely used computer station. Breakfast was fine. Really enjoyed this place overall. What made it great was the exceptional staff!
• AmandaF528 (4/5): Just adequate - The first thing we noticed when were went into our room was the fusty smell. We opened the window, but it was still quite strong. The shower was terrible - the showerhead was broken and the water went everywhere, including onto the carpet in the bedroom (which could account for the damp smell). Other guests were also complaining about their broken showers, so it wasn't just us! The bed was adequate, but not overly comfortable. Internet reception was very patchy. Breakfast was pretty poor, too. We did not use the pool because we did not dare, considereing the state of our room! The best thing about this hotel was it's location near the historic area.
• Andrea (8/5): Good location in the old town - The hotel is well located in the old part and close to the ferry terminal. Hotel has unique style and the pool is great. Definitely worse a dip when staying there.
