Christine (3/5): I’ve always been a fan of HI Express. But until they finish their construction,’I won’t stay. And no guess I’ll have to - It was a great location, beautiful setting on a hill. The bed was comfortable and the sofa in the room was a plus. If I had known it was under major construction I would never have stayed there. The front desk was inconveniently located far from the parking lot. The wind howled all night through the poorly sealed windows. I felt like I was in a 17th century castle. Breakfast was mediocre. The shower was low pressure. No coffee pot in the room. “You can go to the desk and request one”. Well, when I was awake at 2 am due to the howling wind, I would have liked to have a cup of tea. But couldn’t.
135yann (6/5): Construction of the lobby and pool area - The hotel is being renovated right now, pool is not open, check in is at a different room, room is clean tho, lobby is full of construction materials. Room rates should’ve been hugely discounted while construction is being done.

While the website notes that the hotel is under renovation, the condition of the property was far more worn and dated than the photos on their website suggest. Our room felt very tired and, unfortunately, was extremely noisy. I had specifically requested a top-floor room away from the elevator in hopes of having a quiet night. We were not given a top-floor room, and we spent most of the night listening to loud thumping and bumping from the room above us. We could not tell whether the noise was related to renovation work or other guests, but either way, it made it nearly impossible to sleep. We ultimately left at 5:00 a.m. because we were unable to get any rest. Guests should also be aware that there are no coffee makers provided in the rooms. Coffee is only available downstairs from a shared machine, which could easily lead to long lines and frustration during the morning rush. In addition, I was disappointed by the unfriendly greeting from the breakfast attendant when I briefly entered the dining area to get a cup of coffee before leaving. There was also no one present at the front desk when I attempted to check out. Hopefully the renovation will be completed soon, but I recommend calling the hotel directly before booking to confirm that you can be assigned a room that reflects IHG standards. Unfortunately, ours did not.

Situated on a hill overlooking Pocatello, the hotel offered beautiful scenery, ample parking, and spacious rooms that comfortably accommodated our family of six. The breakfast was exceptional, and the staff were both helpful and friendly.

There was also a high pitched screeching coming from the toilet, or the wall behind the toilet and it continued all night. Would go away for a bit if the toilet was flushed. Made for a REALLY long sleepless night. The bed was also very uncomfortable. The staff were nice. But i will not be staying at this location again.
Tracy (2/5): - The pool is so cloudy you can't see the bottom. I told staff they said the chlorine pump has been broken off and on. The TV doesn't work in the room which they were aware of before we arrived but they don't have a replacement or another room. They used the excuse of Expedia and third party why they couldn't do much for us. Never again! water pressure so low you can hardly wash your hair and the shower doesn't drain!

I can’t prove it was my neighbor… but as I stood outside my door, the mom’s head popped out and remarked it wasn’t my kids banging on doors. Ironic.. bc I said nothing but simply stood outside my door. I did make a complaint and was told that a little baseball league were staying there and probably rambunctious. It was raining and thundering etc.. but not my problem. Suffice it to say, I had no rest and had to work all night. Never again. And to that woman in 239. Kiss my ass!

Heather (10/5): Fantastic stay for 5 days. - Love it! Stay was great. We were in town for 5 days for the rennaissance festival. So needed room with space. Room was perfect and loved the amenities. Cinnamon rolls were wonderful. And the shower caps were perfect. Most hotels miss the mark with that. Great amount of outlets in bathroom and all over room. Hotel seemed to be booked solid for the weekend, could tell little things were hard to keep up with, so not going to nitpick everything. Just some highlights-Breakfast was ok. Wish they had bacon at least one of the 5 days we had stayed. Eggs were decent. Sausage- meh. Hot cocoa (Swiss miss tastes better lol). Coffee was decent. Shower head needs a deliming at some point.

When taking a shower, the tub would not drain. It would fill up to our ankles and stay that way until done. The fan in the bathroom was not working, which made the room very humid.

Mobile12249474548 (8/5): What!? No coffee machine in the rooms! - We are frequent visitors and IHG members to Holiday Inn locations throughout the country. We booked here based on other TA review. We stayed only one night. We found the room clean and a decent size. There is a view although it is not a grand majestic scene as some indicate. You can see the hills off in the distance, but you have other hotels and buildings screening out the sight. As Holiday Inns go this hotel stands with the majority that are well kept, comfortable, clean and pleasant to stay at. In that we enjoyed our stay. Reception was pleasant and the staff all were top rate. The only thing we absolutely abhorred was there is no coffe or tea maker in the room. Instead there was a lacking sign on the mini fridge, that explained: in an effort to save on plastic coffe k cups as a guest we could help ourselves 24/ 7 to coffe in the lobby. OmG what a lame excuse for saving money! This is the first Holiday Inn in a cross country trip that had no coffee machine in the room. What if you want coffee or tea in your room late at night? We are hoping this is not a new national policy for Holiday Inn, because it's cheap and beyond ingracious, and inconvenient. And as IHG members one expects at least the minimum of the availability of a coffee machine in the privacy of the room you book . This does make one wonder about the hotel chain as a whole. So, with that said, I have to say points comes off for this Pocatello location.

Rooms could be a little more sound proof— I would have loved to not have my kids asking what the noise coming from next door was and having to explain they were being adults and making babies. Bathroom set up is atrocious. None of my children could reach the toilet paper from the toilet. Air conditioner / heater is outdated—if you needed to use it you then had to listen to a motor run loud enough you couldn’t talk to anyone. Pool — someone needs to look at the chlorine ratio to water. So strong your eyes burned, it was hard to see and our family immediately had skin reactions when getting in / out of the pool. Worst problem — plumbing — it screamed all night, I had to continuously get up and flush the toilet and run water in the sink for it to give a 5 minute respite.

It needed better housekeeping. The outside trash can just before entering the lobby was full that guests started placing trash next to the cannon the ground. The lobby floor was dirty when we arrived and still dirty when we left the next day. Also, 3 of the 4 treadmills were not working correctly (one not at all). The gym was too warm and would like to have seen plastic cups provided for the water dispenser.
