- Hannah (6/5): Lovely view and room but think everything else is over rated to be honest - The view, the room was exceptionally clean and bedding was lovely I think the restaurant etc over priced they charged us £55 to sit next to the window in TING. The restaurant was empty so we didnt feel like we should pay and be encouraged to book a window seat due to full capacity: the food was actually average. Plates of food did not come out at the sane time which was dissapointing hence you provide rice with the mains. We opted out of eating desert in the end and went to our room. we was given 2 faulty irons one which set off the smoke alarm while my husband was in the shower and he had to get out and staff searched our room. Very embarrassing then they confirmed it was the iron.

Lovely staff. - This is an expensive five star hotel in a prime location where you pay for excellent quality and stunning views. But the best thing is the staff are not in the slightest bit pretentious. They will do anything they can to make your stay happy and memorable and are utterly charming. For me this is somewhere I go for a special treat. You don’t have to stay the night there, you can go for lunch or afternoon tea or dinner and being right by London Bridge station makes it easy to get home. Great hotel.

It's beautifully located, high speed lifts take you to the 35th floor in a wink. The view is mesmerizing. The experience is worth it at least once . A perfect night it was, our wedding anniversary and my daughter's graduation ceremony.... wrapped up the night with Shangri-La. Memories created for lifetime.

- Puven1205 (6/5): Mixed feelings - Great location, beautiful views, and generally good service from the staff. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience on entry that left me feeling singled out and uncomfortable. After staying at the hotel for three days as a returning guest, I was stopped and asked to have my bag screened, while colleagues entering just behind me walked straight in without any checks. I immediately raised the matter with the guest relations manager, who was polite and helpful, but I do not believe she was fully aware of what happens at ground level with security. The issue was not the existence of security checks themselves, but the inconsistency in how they were applied. I was told the checks were “standard practice,” yet this was clearly not applied equally to all guests. In my experience, security decisions appeared to depend on who was on duty and who they considered suspicious. Hotels should ensure that security procedures are applied consistently and respectfully to every guest. If you are sensitive to this type of experience, it is something worth being aware of before booking.

- HKAli (10/5): Birthday celebrations - I had the pleasure to visit the shard twice in April and may. I stayed in the hotel for one night with my husband to celebrate his 60th birthday. We were treated like royalty. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful suite with spectacular views. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his birthday at the hotel. I then took my daughter two weeks later to the gong bar to celebrate her 18th birthday. And yet again the staff went above and beyond to make her birthday so special and helping her make memories. A huge thank you to Bruna Vale - Guest Engagement Manager to make all of this possible. She went above and beyond to make both birthdays so memorable.

But the staff are so nice And more genuinely do anything they can to help you enjoy your stay. They are warm and friendly. The food and drinks at the Ting bar of the highest quality. I come here every year for my birthday and it’s worth every penny.

Combined with the elegant atmosphere and outstanding service, it made the stay truly memorable. Honestly, there was nothing significant to dislike. Perhaps minor improvements in room readiness timing could enhance the overall experience even further.

It’s the experience of the location as it is so iconic.. Ting meal was exceptional. Shout out to Anca, Clare,Martina & Edward whom were very helpful Do Not bother with the breakfast here. You pay 45£ for cold …. full English and only one way eggs (sloppy,cold scrambled) … the days we visited were sunny, pity about the dirtiness of the windows for the iconic London views.. Sauna/Pool again iconic highest in Europe and some random non guest just wanders in to take photos as they happen to be at the bar! Pool attendant did action as soon as he saw them.. definitely should look into securing the hotel guests only access better !

Spectacular views over Tower Bridge, the city, Canary Wharf etc. The view changes throughout the day in the different light and is equally lovely at night. Really recommend the bar and restaurant. Great views again and really special food, so beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Everything was great!

- TravellingwithGem (10/5): A fantastic stay in this London Gem - We have stayed at Shangri-La a number of times now and it just seems to tick all the boxes. Their service delivery, execution and staff go far beyond their job to ensure your have a good experience. There isn’t a single room I have started in that hasn’t wowed me. We always request a room facing St Paul’s or Towerbridge because I have a train obsessed boy so he loves to watch the Travels. Even at night it’s a great way to watch the time go by. My son loves the swimming so make sure we prebook the splash time for kids on level 52. Legs not forget this is the highest swimming pool in Europe and reserved just for guests so you get privacy and a luxury feel. The breakfast that we have included in our tier membership has a variety of all the popular dishes and come Asian fusion too. The dumplings are my favourite as well as the french toast. Each day you can help yourself to buffet items and order a la carte This was the first trip where I decided to try the Afternoon tea at Ting and it was truly a memorable experience. My Mum is older now and she came to enjoy this in luxury and bliss. The team that serve and so hands on and you can have a few top ups of sandwiches so it’s good value. We relaxed, enjoyed the view and felt completely at peace. I love that we can also eat near by and they have a free shuttle to Selfridges for shopping which is handy. The Indian gentle man at the pool, I am so sorry I forget your name. You are amazing with my boys and deserve a mention. To Bruna and the team, thank you. We will see you in the summer. 10/10 our week was

All the staff were so friendly, helpful and courteous and nothing was a problem to anyone. Special mention to the reception desk and housekeeping staff who were outstanding. The quality and comfort of the premier king room was fantastic and everything you would expect from a high end hotel. Hopefully we can return soon on our next visit to London and experience it all again

The pool and sauna were smashin. The gentleman at the concierge named, Kenny, was so nice and he smelt so nice too I had to ask his perfume and he was happy to share it. We also left baggages to claim and Kenny was very helpful with these. I hope all gents at the concierge are as nice as him. Thanks Shard. We will be back.

Es war unangenehm, im Bademantel und mit Badeschlappen denselben Aufzug zu nutzen und anschliessend an den sitzenden Bar-Gästen vorbeizugehen, um zum Pool zu gelangen – insbesondere, da im Voraus ein Zeitfenster reserviert werden musste. Zudem war der Pool kalt.

- sola123 (4/5): Go for a nice drink at the bar........ - The views are spectacular and some of the amenities are beautiful, but the staff let us down daily on the details over the four days of our stay. Housekeeping, concierge and the front desk all made errors in their work that interfered with our ability to enjoy the hotel. The last one was on checkout when I saw the charges on the bill for what was supposed to be an included breakfast, credits that had been discussed at check in had not been applied, and a daily "discretionary gratuity" for all the poor services. Overall we left disappointed . Go for a nice drink or meal, but for this price there is better service in many other hotels in London.
- Ben927 (8/5): ‘We went to our room and the city view we had was spectacular.’ - We stopped at the Shangri La hotel for one night for my birthday. Although check in as at 16:00 we arrived early and thankfully our room was ready so we checked in straight away. The lady at reception was very friendly and informative and the check in process was simple. We went to our room and the city view we had was spectacular. Unfortunately the windows were filthy. When one of the main selling points of the hotel is the view, I would’ve expected them to be clean so you could admire the stunning view even more. The room itself was very clean and spacious, with electronic black out shutters. The bathroom modern, with two sinks, a rainfall shower and heated toilet seat. When booking online there was an option to choose specific pillows, which we chose but the request wasn’t fulfilled when we checked in. There’s an infinity pool, sauna and gym which is free for hotel guests. You have to book a time slot, which can be done with reception. At the pool you get free fruit, water and coffee and there was also a very attentive gentleman who kept the area clean and tidy. We opted to have breakfast as part of our stay, which was phenomenal. So much options to choose from, Asian delicacies, English cooked breakfast and continental. There was also fresh fruit, a selection of juices and a variety of bread. The service was brilliant, our cutlery was replaced after every plate of food we had and it was a nice to be greeted with a smile when we were being served. I’d recommend bringing sunglasses as it was very bright. Overall, a lovely stay but for the price charged, £800 for one night, there’s a few things that could’ve been improved.

- Jet53306803231 (2/5): Caution - A cautionary word about our recent experience of the practices of the Shangri-La The Shard. My wife and I stayed at the Shangri-La The Shard for 7 nights in February 2026. We’ve been staying in Shangri-La hotels for more than a decade. Our stay was secured with a ‘credit card guarantee’ at the time of booking. At check-in, I agreed to a pre-authorisation amount of £5,390 GBP (£762.04 more than the total amount of our booking including applicable taxes). The hotel was also advised in clear, unambiguous terms that upon check-out I would settle our account with a different card to that used for the pre-authorisation. Contrary to standard industry practice and contrary to my conversation with the hotel staff member at check-in, the hotel immediately debited the entire pre-authorisation amount to my credit card. It was not put on hold as is the normal practice. The hotel, without my knowledge, debited my credit card account for £5,390 GBP (£762.04 more than the total amount of our booking). At check-out I was presented with an invoice which included an unauthorised gratuity (described as a Discretionary Service Charge) of 5%. I requested this be removed. I settled our account with a debit card as originally explained to the hotel at check-in, unaware that the hotel had paid itself in full 7 days prior. Without informing me, the hotel quietly reversed the unauthorised debit to my credit card account and paid itself again using my debit card. In all, the hotel’s practices have put me out-of-pocket for a total of $443.50 AUD comprising international transaction fees on the unauthorised credit card debit and a small loss because of exchange rate movements. I have raised my concerns by email on 3 occasions with the hotel and Shangri-La Head Office. No response has been received from either. Disappointing behaviour from a hotel group that prides itself on its ‘culture of service excellence’.

We had the pleasure of staying in room 4802 with an iconic view, and it is honestly difficult to put into words how stunning the panorama was. Waking up and looking out over London from such a height is an experience we will never forget. What made our stay even more special was the outstanding level of service. Every detail felt perfectly arranged, seamless, elegant and filled with genuine care. The atmosphere of the hotel, combined with the professionalism and warmth of the team, created something truly unique. Our visit was for a very special family occasion, and thanks to the wonderful staff, it became a beautiful and unforgettable memory for all of us. A special thank you to Bruna Vale for her kindness and attention, it truly made a difference and reflects the high standards of this exceptional hotel. From the start we were made to feel very welcome, if fact all the staff were courteous and friendly. Our room had the most amazing views of London and from so high up it looked like a model city. Cocktails in Gong followed by an evening meal in Ting were really enjoyable with spectacular views again, but this time as the lights came on all over London. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurants for an amazing experience.

- robrim1000 (10/5): Kenny made the trip - Hotel was lovely but over the phone was quite difficult to contact people both before and during the stay. But what I can give is an absolutely glowing report on the concierge desk especially 1 individual on particular named Kenny. He was incredible, everything you would expect but rarely receive from a high end hotel concierge but more. Kenny was attentive, funny and professional. Overall a great stay.
