• Paloma (6/5): Decepcionante - La ubicación, la limpieza. La falta de respuesta ante una queja. Nos dieron la habitación reservada para minusválidos, con un baño adaptado muy rudimentario, sin mampara en la ducha, bastante incómodo. Escribimos para decirles que no era lo que habíamos reservado y que no era adecuado para un hotel de cinco estrellas. La respuesta fue que el hotel estaba lleno y no podían hacer otra cosa. No tuvieron ni el detalle de no cobrarnos el parking.

• John (9/5): Great hotel - Large room and bathroom. Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good location, a short walk uphill from Bolhao Metro station. Loved the art pieces around the hotel. Small point. We had twin beds but there was no area in between them as they are joined up to use as a double if necessary.

• ecosta07 (8/5): Conforto e gentileza no Porto. - Apesar de não ser supercentral em relação a várias atrações históricas, fica numa região muito agradável, calma e próxima do mercado do Bolhão, que adoramos. O atendimento é atencioso e elegante, assim como toda a atmosfera do hotel. Quarto espaçoso e casa de banho idem, colchão e travesseiros confortáveis. Na verdade, todo o ambiente. Encontramos deliciosos chocolates a nossa espera no dia da chegada. A presença do revestimento acarpetado no quarto me incomodou um pouco mas era algo explícito nas fotos e não houve surpresa. Difícil o carpete não reter alguma umidade e a manutenção é complexa.

• Susanne (4/5): Enttäuschender Service, fehlende Kommunikation und unsauber (nicht unter das Bett schauen!) - Die Lage Der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war leider sehr enttäuschend – besonders angesichts der guten Bewertungen. In der Nacht wurden wir durch einen Wasserschaden geweckt: Warmes Wasser lief ins Zimmer, sodass wir um 4 Uhr morgens hastig umziehen mussten. Am nächsten Morgen gab es kein warmes Wasser, und am Folgetag wurden wir früh durch Bauarbeiten gestört – ohne jegliche Information seitens des Hotels. Auch der Service war mangelhaft, etwa in der Bar, und Mängel im Zimmer (defekte WC-Spülung, mangelnde Sauberkeit) wurden nicht ausreichend behoben. Erst nach unseren Reklamationen entschuldigte sich das Hotel und bot ein Abendessen an, das wir jedoch nicht nutzen konnten. Insgesamt war dies das schlechteste Hotel unseres Portugal-Aufenthalts

Toaster had inky 50% working slots because staff said it was giving guests electric shocks!!! Bathroom had huge picture window with semi opaque white blind which became transparent when light on at night so effectively showering in view of buildings opposite Didn’t have dinner in the hotel as the menu was a surprise unknown menu each night which did not appeal, we saw only 2/3 tables in use

My sister and I travelled together, and this hotel was the perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and quiet luxury. Stylish without being overwhelming, and warm without ever feeling forced. Set in a building with an artistic past, the hotel carries a lovely sense of history while still feeling modern and intimate. The real highlight was the people. A special thank you to Angelo and Jessica for their outstanding customer service. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made a lasting impression. They made us feel welcomed from the start and added a personal touch that made all the difference. A lovely stay in a hotel full of charm, with service that truly stands out.

We booked this hotel based on reviews and 5* rating. They wanted to move us to a 4* without offering any compensation, price reduction or upgrade. After questioning it, we just got a cancellation and a refund notification. No personal apology just a generic response.

• Richard (10/5): Great room in a lovely hotel in a nice district in walking distance of the city centre. - Lovely 2nd floor room overlooking the courtyard shared with the sister hotel next door. Nice district in easy walking distance of the centre and all major attractions. Staff all went out of their way to make me feel welcome, and were eager to help with restaurant bookings etc. The breakfast was varied and substantial. Would very happily stay here again.

Last minute cancellation and offer to move us from their 5* to a 4* hotel with no compensation or discounts whatsoever. Customer service again zero skills. I have never been treated like this and have been travelling forever. Disappointed and disgusted. If you want a smooth trip DO NOT book this hotel

• I7940ZXmarianm (10/5): Recommended. - The hotel breathed the opulence of a bygone era—its generous proportions, elegant décor, and refined atmosphere all contributed to the feeling. The room was comfortably sized, and the bed felt divine. Two windows offered a pleasant view of Porto, glowing in the day’s final rays of sunlight. The bathroom was stocked with toiletries one could only wish to enjoy all the time. A retro telephone felt perfectly at home, while a yellow tulip added a charming touch. The coffee machine worked flawlessly; the minibar did not, but this was of no consequence as I didn’t use it. The complimentary welcome glass of Port wine was delicious, and the free bottle of water proved genuinely useful. Although a few bathroom tiles showed signs of age, they did nothing to detract from the overall experience. Highly recommended.

Ordering breakfast and coffee you have to look for staff and menus. The business meeting room on 1st floor didn't have any desks to work on.

The best was the bed — it was very comfortable and the bedsheets of the finest quality. My room had two windows which offered a wonderful view of sun-lit Porto in the afternoon. The free glass of porto wine at the bar made a big difference. All the staff I met were courteous. There was also a complimentary sealed glass bottle of water. The Internet never worked. I was explaining how to use it but because it was some kind of complicated system I ended up relying on my roaming.
