Es ist ein Hostel, das Preis Leistungsverhältnis passt absolut aber sollte man bzgl. Hygiene oder Ausstattung nicht mit Hotel verglichen.

Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Charmaine war ein Sonnenschein und hat unseren Aufenthalt dort versüßt. Die Surfstunden bei Waseem haben uns auch sehr gut gefallen! Darüberhinaus bietet die Unterkunft noch viele weitere tolle Angebote an, um den Aufenthalt dort attraktiv zu gestalten. Es könnte sauberer sein und in unserem Zimmer war die Toilettenspülung defekt.

• Julia (8/5): - The vibe of the Hostel was great. From the private rooms you are able to view the ocean anf beach with nothing in front of you! The location is really good. Right next to the beach and a 5 minutes walk to shops and cafés. The room is clean. The interior is simple. The private rooms share a big balcony or terrasse, which has sitting options in front of every room. Thats lovely and its easy to meet people. The shared kitchen has a nice vibe since its kind of outdoor and there is sand as floor. We liked that. Other than the shared kitchen you're able to order food at the bar. The hostel offers laundry service (can recommend), surf lessons, beer pong matches etc. We waited really long for our food (1-1.5h). But to be fair there is only one lovely women who prepares the food fresh and it tasted awesome. On one day there was a group in front of ous as well, which took some time to prepare their food first. However, just have in mind that a Wrap and Pizza takes time and just order in advance.

• Lisa (10/5): The view will makes you happy - Wooow first row on the beach. Amazing view on the ocean and sunrise. That makes me so happy. For a hostel the best rooms and view I've ever had. Beautiful balcony. Polite stuff and cozy vibes all through the hostel. Food in the restaurant is good. Don't forget it's a hostel. No equipment in the room. But towels and sheets for the bed.

• Manisha (10/5): Sunrise, Surf, and Smiles - Spending a night at Island Vibe Backpackers was only for one night, but it completely blew me away. We had our own private room with a bathroom and a balcony, and from the moment we arrived I was so excited. The location is insane — literally on the beach. You can walk straight through the gate and be on the sand within seconds. We even woke up to watch the sunrise, which felt like a little gift. The place has so much character. There’s a pool table, a TV where people gather to watch soccer, a book nook, hammocks, a bar, a food spot, beer pong, and a boma area for evenings when they light a fire. My boyfriend quickly found people to play pool with, and I loved how many international travellers were there — meeting them and hearing their stories was a highlight for me. We even played chess while waiting for our food! And the food… wow. I had a chicken burger with homemade chips, and you could taste the love that went into it. Simple, delicious, and honestly one of the best meals I had on the trip. The room itself was clean and comfortable, with the balcony as a lovely bonus. I worried about the surrounding residential area at first, but the property is gated and safe. Everyone was friendly, especially Charmaine, who welcomed us and showed us around. Even in one night, it felt like a place where you could linger for days — waking up to the ocean, meeting travellers from everywhere, and settling into that effortless Jeffreys Bay vibe. Island Vibe isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a place you feel glad to be in.

The hatch was too long couldn't really see the sea in the rooms downstairs otherwise it would've been a very beautiful view. Had to shower with cold water because of the power, please consider having generators for moments like that

It is a hidden gem. Exploring the rest of the property, we would definitely opt to stay in the private en suite rooms. The door opening at the bottom does not have a weather guard, and it rattled with when wind picked up. The bed was harder than we'd expected - sponge mattress. Though the linens were clean, there wasn't any mattress protector.

Super Ausblick aufs Meer von allen Bereichen des Hostels. Man muss die Anlage eigentlich gar nicht verlassen. Leckeres Restaurant.

The private room is wonderful, very comfortable and well organized. The location couldn’t be better, right on the beachfront. The bathroom is good and the shower works very well. It was everything perfect, comfortable bed, clean bedding, and a truly wonderful stay overall. I would definitely recommend it! The only small issue was that the bathroom drain was a bit clogged, so the water would flood slightly during the shower.

• Alexandra (9/5): Absolut zu empfehlen! - Ich traue mich zu behaupten beste Unterkunft für einen super Preis in bester Lage! Wir sind nicht mehr die klassischen jungen Backpacker, haben daher auch ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad/WC gebucht-was ich jedem empfehlen kann, weil erstens das Bett uns wirklich getaugt hat-endlich mal eine harte Matratze! Zweitens hatten wir ne tolle Aussicht von unserer kleinen Veranda direkt aufs Meer. Zwar war das für die Allgemeinheit zu Verfügung stehende Küchengebäude gleich neben uns, hat uns aber nicht gestört. Das Badezimmer ist vielleicht klein aber ausreichend und die Dusche wirklich herrlich. Wir bekamen auch eine nette Führung durchs Hostel, was man alles machen/buchen kann etc. mein Freund war gleich beim Sandboarding dabei, war wohl sehr lustig-und kurzweilig. Da wir keinen Südkurs gebucht haben mussten wir das Equipment bei einem anderen Laden am Strand ausborgen. Wir haben abends auch immer hier gegessen, Pizza, Burger und ‚bananenpaltschinlen‘- die waren super. Wir würden jederzeit wieder diese Unterkunft wählen! Da hauptsächlich nat junge Leute hier sind, wird nat. auch gerne und lange gefeiert und da die Zimmer schon hellhörig sind, feiert man unfreiwillig ein wenig mit:)))) Aber mit Oropax ist das auch lösbar:)

• Zintle (1/5): We never got to stay there - I did not get to experience anything I slept in the car and I did not get to experience the place, got the and the said the rooms were still being cleaned, was rushing to a wedding they offered us a place to change and did not give us a key to our room when we got back the is no one at the reception and no key we called no answer they did give a a code we had to sleep outside In a car cutter our trip short we we went back home, called them they did not give us a good treat over the phone mind you we booked for two days and never get to sleep

We really got to discover the area thanks to the wide range of activities offered by the hostel: surfing, tours, sand boarding etc. The hostel is spacious. The rooms and shared facilities were very clean. Highly recommend! Expensive food.
