• mingwon (2/5): 하루에 1만원이면 잘까? 아니 그래도 안돼 - 아주 폐가수준의 상태. 일부 리모델링중이라 하지만 도저히 안될것 같음. 80년대 여인숙 수준임. 방에 들어서자마자 큰 바퀴벌레를 잡았음. 날고 찌들고 도저히 못자겠는데 주변에 방이 하나도없어 어쩔수없이 누웠으나 옆방에서 고스톱치는 소리까지 들려......아뭏든 인생 최악의 호텔 2번째. 최악은 체코였으니 국내에선 탑.
• CHULJIN (8/5): 내부 깨끗관리, 가성비 굿 - 다시 리모델링해서 내부는 깨끗하게 관리 됨 다만. 방칸 소음/샤위소리 방음이 미비한 것이 아쉬움 응대 직원 친절

• Verified traveler (6/5): 청소에 신경써주세요 - 직원 친절 하셨습니다. 청결에 심각한 문제가 있습니다. 제대로 청소 되지 않은 방, 에어콘 곰팡이, 커튼과 창틀에 쌓인 먼지, 가구에 쌓인 먼지, 화장실의 녹. 현관 문과 중문이 있지만 방음 또한 거의 안 되어 한밤 중 복도에서 들려오는 소리로 잠이 깨게 됩니다.

• HenningInOL26121 (6/5): Only if you have no better option - Run down, simple hotel. Choice of hotels within the city is limited. Whole building needs some major renovation. Nonetheless it is clean and mostly quiet. Had to stay here during several business trips for up to 3 weeks at a time. Fridge and water heater in each room. Fairly stable WIFI. Convenience stores nearby. For restaurants you need to walk at least 15 minutes or take a taxi (2$) into downtown. Take a business card from the reception with you. Not every taxi driver knows the hotel. No gym, Sauna open in 2013, closed in 2017/18. Breakfast served. Simple, but fresh fruit. Don't stay in rooms 701. Service door for elevator maintenance is located in hallway of room and bangs in the draft of air when elevator moves. Apparently rooms on 6th floor have been renovated. Striped of bath tub and closet!

• wlf07 (10/5): Love This Hotel! - I've stayed here twice. Once in 2010 and most recently in June of this year. It's a nice place, even with so few options for legit hotels in Chungju. They recently remodeled, and the room was very nice, MUCH nicer than in 2010. (That said, I did still enjoy my stay in 2010). Very spacious, clean and updated. The staff is also very friendly and breakfast (an extra cost of 10 or 12 thousand Won) is excellent!
• Chong Hyun (6/5): 보통 - 오래되었지만 관리상태 괜찮습니다. 가성비는 그리 좋지 않아요. 주변 그저그렇구요.
• PeterAUCNX (10/5): Beautiful rooms. - The facade and lobby of the hotel are a bit dated but the rooms are very modern and comfortable. It is situated near the edge of the city but a short walk to downtown and some new pedestrian malls. The rooms are quite spacious, tiled throughout and a very comfortable bed. Large shower area with good hot water. I like the quietness of the rooms and the blackout curtains. There is a restaurant but as breakfast finishes at 0900, I didn't make it. There is not much around for western tastes, plenty of Korean options. A 15 minute easy walk aling the same road is the main market and 2 new pedestrian mallsvthat have many coffee shops and dining ootions. I was quite suorised at the value of this hotel and enjoyed my stay. Good, free WIFI and airconditioning. Nice bathrooms amenities in large pump oacks and coffee facilities.
• LiLiCockerpoo (6/5): Perfectly acceptable - although slightly dated feel - Had this hotel booked by my hosts and found that the hotel had a slightly dated feel in the public areas although in general it was very clean The room on floor 6 was spacious and the bathroom was very clean The shower was a little short of water power although still OK The room lacks any wardrobe space whatsoever which was a surprise - they only provided two hangers on hooks on the wall Also the main room area had no lights at all - which was again a surprise The breakfast was OK - and more than acceptable I can't really comment on the location as we were always being driven by our hosts - but it is definitely not in or near the town centre

• YONG KWON (8/5): 낡았지만 충주에서는 숙박할 만한 호텔 - 오래된 호텔이어서 시설이 노후되었고 객실에서도 냄새가 좀 납니다. 그러나 크게 불편한 점은 없습니다. 충주에서는 몇 안되는 숙박할 만한 호텔로 보입니다.
• Erwin (4/5): Neem geen ontbijt! - Ik had geboekt inclusief ontbijt, heb er slechts 1 x gebruik van gemaakt. Na 3 weken rondreizen in Korea toch een dag op toilet verbleven dankzij dit ontbijt. Het buffet is open van 7u tot 9u. Mijn aanvoelen is dat alles al in de warmhoudbakken staat vanaf 7 u. Kartonnen spek, iets wat lijkt op eieren.. American breakfast wordt het genoemd en kost normaal 10000 Won. Afblijven! De kamer was oubollig ingericht. Badkamer leel op de badkamer van een camping, met houten plafond. Er hing een schimelgeur. Ook al was het vriesweer, ik liet de raam open.Het bed was OK. Internet inclusief, alleen op verdieping 7 is er geen bereik. Ik ging hierover klagen doch men begreep het niet. Spijtig genoeg biedt Expedia weinig alternatief in deze stad want er zijn wel enkele betere en voordeliger alternatieven.

• Mi Jung (6/5): 저렴한가격에 이정도면 감솨^^ - 모텔급 호텔이라고생각했는데 밤이되니 호텔방이 좋은느낌으로 변하더라고요^^ 어메니티도 나름다있었고요. . 따뜻한물 따봉잘나와요. . 화장실이 노후하고 슬리퍼가 물에 축축한부분이있어서 잘 안신었어요~

• Verified traveler (6/5): Grand in title and spirit... - Let me first say that our visit to Chungju was a great success! If I ever find myself in Chungju again, I don't know that I would stay anywhere else. One of the challenges you will find is that not all the hotels in Chungju can be found online. There are plenty of other hotels, some were listed...most were not. So if you're traveling from far away and want reservations ahead of time, your choices are few. From what I saw, other hotels were not in much of a better location. I can't speak to the inside of the other hotels either. The Grand Hotel has it's pros and cons. I'll start with the staff. The staff was marvelous! With the language barrier, they did their best to make sure our needs were accommodated. From taxi rides to special requests and all the questions in between, nothing but smiles and solid effort to work with us. You work long enough and eventually what you're trying to convey comes across and they do their best to accommodate you. The location; not the best. It's in more of an industrial section of town...actually on the outskirts. Although it is within walking distance of the train station, but a taxi ride from the bus station. You will not find much in the way of restaurants or things to see close by. My son and I did take a taxi to the local soccer stadium for a game and walked back to the hotel...20 minutes tops. That 20 minute walk is awesome. When you leave the hotel, turn left and simply walk. Take a map or use your phone. Don't forget your wifi hotspot!
