- Colin (8/5): Good value hotel - Large room , great view over harbour , clean and comfortable, easy parking, excellent breakfast Nothing
- Andrew (5/5): The staff were great the room was ok but improvements could be made - The staff were great and very helpful. The room facilities were dated especially the shower cubicle and there were no information about meal and breakfast times or check out in the room also no offer of room service. The breakfast was ok but minor things like the coffee could have been served in a cafetière or the toast could have had a wider selection of jams and marmalade or the porridge could have been added with cinnamon sugar. I had the scrambled eggs with toast not as I expected on toast.
- Steve (7/5): - Great location Tatty room
- Christopher (8/5): -
- Lynne (5/5): -

- Michael (10/5): -
- Tracey (4/5): Frustrated - Location was great. Room- wardrobe wobbly. Towels don’t look clean and white.
Room wasn’t serviced when put sign out. Had to ask for toilet rolls. Found out next day there wasn’t a cleaner as she had gone to a wedding - we wasn’t told to ask if we needed tea coffee etc and clean towels etc on check in.
Breakfast on first day was very over cooked. We were a party of six and served with small teapots which held 2 and a bit cups of coffee or tea. We had to keep asking for them to be refilled. It was frustrating for us and our waitress. ( the second day she gave us a big pot of coffee but still had to ask for the tea pot to be refilled as it was a small one again)

- Michael (10/5): 10/10 - I would stay again. - Great value for money, super friendly and helpful staff, and a cooked-to-order English breakfast. I checked in with a chap called Michael. He did everything he could to make me feel welcome. He's a valuable asset to the hotel.

- Brian (8/5): Ideal location friendly staff . Would stay again. - Excellent Breakfast. Sets you up for the day.
Ideal location for local transport & train station. Was not advised as to when my room would be serviced for towels changing etc.
Only when I asked at the reception for a change of towels was I informed that the rooms were serviced every alternate days. I would suggest that a notice be put in the rooms advising this.
- Evelynne (9/5): Brilliant, even though the weather was rainy it was lovely to get away. - Breakfast was lovely and it was hot, the hotel is brilliant, the staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing, it was perfect.

- Geylan (8/5): -
- Pryer (8/5): If it was good enough for Charles Dickens.. - The fact that we were staying at such an important historical hotel and not some bland chain. The exceptional position and views. Breakfast excellent. Lounge bar not the kind of comfortable retreat we'd hoped for. No resident's lounge.

- Bickle (8/5): Golden Lion Maryport - Great location, I was in Maryport to see a band who were playing a ren minute walk away. Staff were very friendly and a full breakfast in the morning made it great value.
The locals are super friendly as well ! No complaints
- Steve (8/5): Basic and budget friendly but everything it does, it does well. - Excellent Cumbria breakfast, which was an English breakfast with a Cumberland sausage. Location was perfect, yards from the town centre and very close to the harbour. Handy for local restaurants, pubs and bars, not that these are needed as the on site facilities cater for all eating and drinking requirements. Right on the King Charles III England coast path. Decor in the dining room was a bit dated, almost 1960's American diner vibe. Didn't affect the food though. Electric heating in room so nothing to dry my wet stuff on (it had been raining all day).
- Leonard (8/5): In general I I had a pleasant stay at the Golden Lion Maryport and would happily stay there again. - I was very satisfied with my overnight stay at The Golden Lion Hotel in Maryport, the Staff were helpful and pleasant.
The Breakfast was comprehensive. Being an octogenarian I struggled to reach my room on the first floor, access to the bedrooms was by the stairs.
No full cream milk was available at Breakfast.
- Stuart (7/5): Decent hotel in lovely fishing town - The view was lovely and the breakfast was spectacular The parking was ackward

- Gillian (9/5): - The staff was excellent, helpful and always welcoming . I had a roast dinner and the food was very tasty. The full breakfast looked lovely but when tired to eat the black pudding couldn't get my fork into it as it was very hard and my egg was over cooked so not runny.
- Neil (10/5): -
- Davidson (10/5): Friendly staff and great value - Had a great stay, all staff were very friendly and provided great service from the room, to food, to the bar, to letting me in early hours of the morning, had a great stay was very good value for money and would stay again just for how nice the staff were. The room itself wasn't anything special but still great value.
- Suleman (5/5): - The shower was flowing well. Very poor Internet services and when staff was approached if they could help, they didn't bother.
- William (8/5): Happy family - Staff friendy dinner and breakfast good room ok, bathroom a bit cramped. No lift. Nicely located next to quay.
- Julie (8/5): Pleasant overnight stay - Generally pleasant overnight stay. Good value for money!
Room was up a large number of stairs, generally clean and warm with all expected facilities ie ensuite toilet and shower, coffee making, wardrobe and towels. Bed was comfortable, but unfortunately there were marks on the bedspread.
Internet access variable. Private parking limited.
Food choices generally good but perhaps a little limited for vegetarians. Issue with undercooked potatoes was quickly and politely managed! Enjoyable evening meal and generous vegetarian breakfast.
Staff were polite and helpful.
- John (7/5): Good value town hotel handy for the Promenade. - Handy for all local attractions and sea promenade, good evening bar food and breakfast. Minor issues like no bathmat for slippery tiled floor outside shower, 2/3 lightbulbs broken and some late street noise.
- Howard (10/5): - All great
- Lawrie (10/5): - Property was clean in all areas, staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was tasty.
- Schiff (8/5): Very good -
