Guest Reviews
- Philip (10/5): - This is a lovely property and beautifully presented to its guests.
The owners take great care to ensure their guests are comfortable and well looked after during their stay.
This location is ideal for branching out to many attractions and beautiful villages in the Yorkshire Dale's.
There is so much to see and do here.
Everything we have experienced on our stay here has given us some very happy memories that we will always cherish š
A huge thank you to our hosts, Chris and Jenny. š There is certainly nothing to dislike here.
Our wanting to return in the near future is our way of saying thank you for everything š
- David (10/5): Excellent - Chris's Breakfasts are superb.
Also, the shower in Butterwick room was absolutely fantastic, really powerful - I loved it.
The location of Plumpton Court is really good as it is ideally placed to reach the coast, the North Yorkshire Moors, York and also the Yorkshire Dales
- James (9/5): An extremely comfortable and friendly stay -
- Simon (10/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Charming - The breakfast was amazing- we donāt like really fancy breakfasts as they usually donāt taste right for a fry up- this was a mixture looked nice presentation wise but was yummy and filling. You also get given cereal, toast, yoghurts, fruits and juices along with the fried breakfast. You can also change your order each day so you can pick and choose what you have. The little town is charming and had a lot of wildlife roaming like sheep and peacocks especially on the way to the blacksmith arms. The owners were so lovely and always happy to help. They always have a smile on their face and are always happy to help. You will need a car to explore most things as there are busy main roads to get to them. They add little touches to your room like bubble bath and flapjack as well as an assortment of hot drinks. The owners have recommendations of places to eat. We even had a power cut after some bad rain but there was boardgames given by the owner and they were so nice we honestly didnāt mind was nice to switch off for a bit The bed made a bit of a noise when turning over in sleep but was absolutely fine no fault there.
Be careful going midweek as a lot of pubs donāt start serving food until the end of the week- not a fault of the hotel but the owners can give you some nice recommendations for places that are open. Some better if booking as they are popular!
There is no signal where staying and around a lot of the pubs so try to use the wifi or get to a place with signal when using the satnav as you might get stuck at some of the pubs e.g. blacksmith arms

- Leanne (10/5): Beautiful B&B, incredible hosts, cosy room, highly recommend - We liked everything about this place, it was so cosy and a proper home from home. Hosts were such lovely people, made us feel very welcome. The breakfast has a very generous offering, certainly filled us up for the day. We will definitely be staying again the next time we're up that way. Thank you both for such a lovely stay. There was nothing we didn't like, it was a perfect trip.
- Joanne (10/5): Fantastic stay!! - It is in great location, just down the road from Helmsley. Lovely warm comfortable room, bonus of large DVD selection that you can play on the tvās in your room(took me back to the good old days). Excellent honesty bar in the lounge, the host offered to light the fire if we were planning to spend some time in there. Breakfast was exceptional and the host was second to none, offering good local knowledge and maps if needed. We had a lovely stay and would return if we were to visit the area again. N/A

Location good for visiting different areas of North Yorks
- David (10/5): Lovey stay and a great breakfast. Couldnāt really have asked for me. - Warm welcome Nowt
- Peter (9/5): We were very well looked after in a lovely property. - Great breakfast, very friendly and helpful owners, massive bathroom that gave us plenty of room to store our suitcases, off-road parking. Stairs were a bit steep, our large car was tricky to park in the property's car park. The bed looked bigger in the photos than it was.
- Josephine (10/5): - very clean and comfortable

- Philip (10/5): - Comfortable room with everything we needed. Located in a quiet part of town and ideally located for travelling further afield in what is a beautiful area. Hosts were absolutely lovely and couldn't have been more helpful.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Very homely and welcoming we will be back for sure. And the breakfast was lovely
- Charles (10/5): Superb accommodation in North Yorkshire. - If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of city (York?) or town centre accommodation, Plumpton Court in Nawton provides an oasis of peace in North Yorkshire. A step away, Nawton is well placed as a hub for a number of attractions in the area, including Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey and the North York Moors Railway, (to name but a few), which takes you to Whitby and all it has to offer. (I confess to being an amateur railway buff!) More to the point, Plumpton Court is a delight to stay in. Chris and Jenny are wonderful and welcoming hosts. The bed was arguably the most comfortable I have slept in, and that includes my own. Really. My partner was surprised how well I slept! Breakfasts can be a benchmark for a stay. Forget "Four in A Bed". This is for real. Chris serves up a superb Yorkshire breakfast, and his Scrambled Eggs are, whether in the main breakfast or with Smoke Salmon, a delight to eat. Chris and Jenny are the most congenial of hosts, and helpful in advice about places to visit and routes to take. This is quality accommodation. Nothing to dislike.
- Wendie (10/5): - Our hosts could not do more to make us feel welcome and share their vast knowledge of the local area with us. They provided us with excellent recommendations for restaurants, attractions and must sees while visiting. We especially appreciated the attention to detail in our room and during our daily breakfast service. Being in a residential area meant it was quiet and made it feel more like a home away from home. We absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again. If you are in the area we would highly recommend a stay here.
- Harold (9/5): Excellent - Excelent Nothing
- Jo-ann (10/5): Lovely place to stay and we will be back. - Lovely and clean. Breakfast was just the ticket. Bed was very comfy.
Chris and Jenny are very welcoming and made our stay so enjoyable. Will definitely come back for another stay. Plumpton Court is ideally situated to give you access to the lovely countryside around the Yorkshire Moors. Nothing we didn't like.
- Keith (9/5): Wonderful hosts lovely stay - A very nice welcome, our hosts were extremely helpful. Nice situation, excellent service and great breakfasts. Ideal for discovering the North Yorkshire dales. Would highly recommend.
- Brenda (10/5): 4 nights but wish we had stayed longer! - Outstanding B&B with lovely hosts ⦠friendly welcome, very comfortable room, lovely breakfasts with lots of choices, plus gave us very helpful information for discovering the whole area. Absolutely nothing to dislike at all š
- Gill (9/5): Lovely hosts and top notch . - Clean, comfortable and ideal location. Nothing.
- Louise (10/5): Nice place -
Lovely bed and breakfast. Friendly owns and really helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Great breakfast plenty of choice.
- Donna (10/5): Our stay at Plumpton Court was absolutely fantastic would recommend it to everyone - The breakfast was exceptional lovely selection of fruit, berries and yoghurt. Delicious home made marmalade the full English breakfast was fabulous cooked to perfection by the wonderful host. The accommodation was spotless, clean and fresh the ensuite bathroom was beautiful the large shower was perfect. We had a wonderful relaxing and comfortable stay. We loved the location so easy to explore the wonderful moors and picturesque villages of Helmsley and Pickering also the amazing steam train to Whitby. We had a wonderful mini break. The parking area was a little tight to get into when other vehicles were parked up but we have a larger than average car.
- Gill (9/5): Plumpton Court was a good choice in all respects - location, welcome, breakfast, everything really - Everything was warm, cosy and clean and the breakfast was excellent. There is a private car park right at the back so no problem with parking. There are so many places to visit in the vicinity - National Trust and English Heritage, as well as Castle Howard. The local pub, which is only about one minute's walk away, was also warm and welcoming and served decent pub food.
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Superb hosts, excellent breakfast, this is a first class B&B in a wonderful location

Excellent host.
Easy to find and half way between Helmsley and Kirkby Moorside. Pub across the main road for evening meal if needed.
plenty of parking. The bed had a wooden frame which jutted out at the corners and as there was was only a narrow space round one side and the bottom of the bed, my husband kept knocking his knee and leg against it .

- Heather (10/5): Weekend away in North Yorkshire - This is the second time we have had a fabulous weekend staying at Plumpton Court. A superb B&B based in the village of Nawton, located between Helmsley and Pickering.
In the village there is a good pub called The Rose and Crown offering a good selection of food and drinks, including Sunday lunches. No food served on Monday and Tuesday. There is also a very good Indian restaurant in the village called Fusion Spice, we opted for our evening meal on Monday evening.
At Plumton Court the bedrooms are well presented with comfortable beds, and tea/coffee making facilities.
Chris the host is very attentive, and our breakfast on both mornings was delicious.
Car Parking is provided at the rear of the property.

Our hosts were welcoming. The highlight I think was the breakfast - excellent. The room was on the small side. As such I think the hosts made a conscious decision not to put a chair in there. Consequently, my wife had to put on her makeup using a mirror whilst sitting on the floor.

We got a list of local places to eat and their phone numbers. The room was beautiful and it was especially nice to have a welcome piece of homemade flapjack. The breakfast was beautifully cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris or Jenny, fantastic hosts. It was awful weather when we visited and we were a little chilly in our room at times, but I know that Chris and Jenny would have put on the radiator if we had asked.

If we are every remotely near this location again we would be stopping here again.
