Robert (9/5): Good value, comfortable and friendly. - The hosts were lovely and very helpful. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The location is close to the centre of Brighton, although Kemptown isn’t the best part of the city.
Saskia (10/5): Lovely stay, will stay there again when I return! - I loved the location, quiet but still just a walk away from the beach and the centre with restaurants, bars and shops. My room was big, very comfortable bed, loved how it was decorated. Melina was a wonderful host, so kind and made me feel welcome and safe. Communication beforehand was easy and helpful. I cannot recommend Starlings Guest House enough. Will definitely stay here when I return hopefully in the nearer future. Nothing. Everything was wonderful.

Vera (10/5): Briliant stay in a relaxing place. - The location was great. Close to multible bus routes. Short walk to the seafront and town center. Local shops and plenty of places to eat. Owners only too happy to help with any enquiries or to sugest local places. Nothing comes to mind.

Matthew (8/5): A great Guest House and comfortable stay - A fantastic little guest house which was very comfortable and welcoming. It's well situated for the town and the seafront. Everything was clean and well kept The only issue that I had was that the building was quite old, and creaky! I could hear the person above me coming in and moving around quite late in the night. There is nothing that could be done about this, due to the age of the building, but if you are a light sleeper this could be an issue.

The room was excellent, with plenty of space, comfortable bed, portable fan and a fair size shower with good pressure. Great location with close bus stops to either Brighton and Hove or the Marina and beyond. Highly recommend and would gladly stay again. Many thanks.

Iza (5/5): Not the best - Both very friendly and welcoming hosts. There is no breakfast on offer, even though your website said there was. When I tried to book and pay for the next day, they told me they don't do breakfast but recommended a cafe with a steep uphill walk. Hardly any sleep on both nights, as we were both woken up 3 times during the early hours of the morning, with people swearing and at 6.00am one morning it sounded as though someone was trying to kick a neighbours door down with shouting and swearing for 20 minutes. Not clean, as my husband has recently had a major op, I check everything. The property was clean on the surface, but the dust at the top of the door frames must have been there for months. Definately not cleaned properly. Disappointed with this and no breakfast, if we had known there was no breakfast we would not have booked. Unfortunately, with the location, would not recommend - far far too noisy.

Richard (10/5): Stylish B&B in Kemptown. - A very stylish and comfortable B&B in a convenient location. Thoughtful hosts. This was my second stay. I would be happy to stay again. No particular issues. Some might struggle with the quite steep stairs. Noisy seagulls, but this is the same throughout Brighton!

Immaculate rooms with fresh crispy bedding, complimentary tea and coffee with a chocolate biscuit and bottle of water. Tastefully decorated throughout Ideal for people who prefer quiet locations. Bus stop yards away taking to hospital or town. I would definitely recommend it and if I return to Brighton, it will be at the top of my list. Thank you Melina & Julie. Richard (10/5): Welcoming Guest House in Kemptown. - Close to Kemptown and the town centre, a sensitively converted large terrace house, now a comfortable guest house. Attentive, friendly and helpful owners. Sorry that breakfast wasn't available at the time of my stay as this had excellent reviews from other guests. My very nice single room was up several flights of steep stairs at the top of the house, which wasn't a problem for me, but some might find difficult.

Jeff (10/5): Lovely hosts, lovely breakfast. - I liked the excellent breakfast, they had great sausages. They always asked if you wanted seconds. The hosts also went out of their way to make sure that I could collect my luggage after my conference had finished. In September, there was no easy way to totally dry and air the towels after the morning shower, they were still slightly damp the following morning. Because my visit was in September the thermostatically controlled central heating hadn't kicked in yet.

Room had everything you need aswell as a couple of sweet treats. Location is walking distance to everything and we could see the sea from our window! Breakfast was delicious and didn't need lunch as there was plenty of it . I would recommend staying there to anyone

They gave us a lot of recommendations about sights and activities in Brighton and in the surrounding areas. We got fresh made breakfast every day (like a full English breakfast). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Guest house was really close to the beach/pier. They made us feel welcome and we enjoyed our stay there! Plus nice connectivity to the bus network which makes it easy to go around. A lot od restaurants and cafe around so overall it was quite comfortable. Well the bathing area is little too small for comfort and being a old building there aren’t much amenities though still manageable.

The tiniest quibble - and it really is tiny - is that there was no bedside lamps and the reading light was very bright.

We would have liked the option of cereal as an alternative to the full breakfast on days when a full breakfast was too much. You could choose an alternative combination of cooked breakfast ingredients and toast however which was good. We were offered cereals but felt it was an imposition as cereal wasn’t routinely on the menu.

Room spotlessly clean, bright with great attention to detail and good quality linen/towels/products etc. convenient location to walk into Kemptown or the centre if Brighton. The room was perfectly quiet from within the guest house, but because of the extreme temperature outside we needed to sleep with the window open so the noise of the traffic and some people was disturbing at night. This can’t be helped the property is on a fairly busy road. A room at the back would be quieter.

Serife (10/5): Exceptional - It s a lovely stay with two great hosts. Clean room with just enough utilities provided. Delicious breakfast. I should warn you full english breakfast is quite big. I suggest to take half english breakfast which was very satisfactory for one person The room is a bit small yet enough for one person. The location may be a bit far from the center but again it depends on the purpose of your visit. It is a 15 min walking distance from the center
