Guest Reviews
- Big-will (1/5): Bad -
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (4/5): - Broken window means mosquitoes get inside. Construction everywhere still extending third and fourth floor. And no wifi at all. Entrance is througg the back where the construction is. Front is covered by hung laundry clothes.
- Farès (8/5): Good stay - Great stay for 3 nights.
Hotel is well located, near the beach and the city center of El Nido. Staff is very friendly and smiley, we all appreciated. Breakfast is tasty. Rooms are quite clean and the necessary is there.
To improve
The services, could not book the motorbike, laundry was not available and WiFi is not available from the rooms which is inconvenient.
I recommend anyway this hotel.
- James (6/5): My stay at Bed rock - The hotel is inside a plumbers merchants/building site they store all there material in the corridor/hallway that leads you to the actual hotel and construction workers just sit in this corridor or in the lobby of the hotel, work normall starts around 5/6am here so don’t worry about setting an alarm if you have a trip booked in the morning the construction workers provide the wake up service free of charge. The room itself isn’t like pictures shown looks more like its themed around the flint stones which explained the concrete bed. The bathroom always had a a funny smell coming from it ,Unfortunately when you turned on the aircon it sounded like a Boeing 747 was ready for take off . On a positive note this hotels location is perfect for the beach and the shops and they also serve a good pancake breakfast which is included.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the location, it was a short walk from everything. The free breakfast was pretty good. Smelled a bit moldy in the room so I tried not to spend too much time in there.
- Paul (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay here. The staff where excellent, friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and the breakfast was of good quality. Excellent location only a minute short walk to the beach or restaurants. Only downside was poor phone reception and bad Wi-Fi. Maybe a suggestion for improvement would be to invest in Wi-Fi boasters to strengthen the signal in the rooms. Apart from that is a great hotel and I’d be happy to stay again.
- Jocelyn (4/5): Fraud. Should be removed from this site - Nothing like the image, crapy room, smelly. Hotel is surended with construction , the size of the room is a fraud compate to the reality. The sign outside do not exist, no indication of the hotel. Construction man told me whete to find it, cancel my reservation and booked somewhere else
- Nilo (10/5): El Nido's Nest - Amazing experience. Hotel Staff very attentive to our needs,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Big spacious room and clean. Breakfast is good being serve in a balcony in front of your room. Very helpful staff. There was a fire in the building in front of the hotel when we were there and the staff are calm and efficient about telling guest to be prepared just in case there is evacuation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): El Nido - I don’t really know how to rate this. I felt like I was staying in the middle of a construction site. Great location though and they arranged a shuttle to the airport for me.
- Riccardo (2/5): Nightmare - The room we stayed in first was clean but the shower was freezing so they moved us to another room which was also clean but still had problems with shower. Called the staff in many times to fix it. When we got o this water it lasted 5 minuets then the water became very slow. Was terrible and stressful to not have a proper wash. The staff were friendly but did not seem to compensate and charged us full amount for extras for example towels and never apologized for our experience. But good location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Decent value at the price point, staff was very helpful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): HORRIBLE - BERBAT
- Shek Sang (4/5): -
Fatalne WiFi.
- Donna (2/5): Not happy - It’s under construction it’s horrible would not recommend it to anyone
- zhao (2/5): Avoid this place - It is literally a hardware/construction supplies store with rooms for rent at the back. the entrance was hard to find with no signage. it was dirty and unsafe with cement bags, pvc pipes, plywood, roofing materials strewn all over the place. during day time it is noisy with sounds of construction on going, many men are going in and out of the building. not a good place to stay if you want comfort and peace of mind.
- luis (8/5): Well located, nice and affordable place to stay - Despite the obscure entrance and the construction materials on the street, the hotel is nice, clean, well located-- just 100mts from the beach. Has a nice terrace and coffee 24/7. Internet is slow and unreliable but the rest is perfectly ok for a good stay. Room was very clean and confortable. To get there just ride the bus until the yard where buses are kept overnight. The hotel is right next to it, and everything else is at walking distance.
- Alex (2/5): It's a building site - The 'hotel' is set back through building works. When we arrived the toilet didn't work, and neither did any wifi. They shouldn't say there is wifi when they know it doesn't work. It's the noisiest place we've ever stayed with building works starting from the early hours, aircon which sounds like a jumbo jet, making it near impossible to sleep on a mattress which felt like a concert block. No toilet roll, towels or bedsheets were changed for the four nights we stayed there.
- Andre khoury (8/5): personal opinion - it was ok good for a buck
- Verified traveler (4/5): No comfort at Big Creek Mansion - The hotel was very outdated and the WiFi didn't work. To get to the hotel you had to walk through a alley. Overall this is not a good place to stay.
- Edward (4/5): A waste of money - Don't waste your money on this hotel. I had a three-night reservation but could only stay one brief night. It's still under construction so the noise and paint fumes were overwhelming. While the room was clean and good size, it is bare except for the bed. No chair, no table, no luggage rack, no mirror, and no desk. There was a shift supervisor who tried to help, but management was no where to been seen.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Hotel no internet and breakfast - Once we get in to the room I smell a bad odor right away ( mapanghe) no celphone signal and internet, shower room had no soap rack and stink, lots of noise coming from the construction, they had coffee on the hallway but no breakfast provided.
- Adam (8/5): Hotel w dobrej lokalizacji. - Dobry hotel.
- tyler (4/5): - They are trying to remodel, I think. Place was a mess. No sign out front, just some random walkway to get behind some stores to find it. They are the only hotel in the area that we saw that didn't have a generator for when the power was out.
- raymond (4/5): - first they have construction going on which was not disclosed. dust from cement. workers moving in and out of common area. noisy. they keep turning or moving thw wifi. not worth the money
- Verified traveler (4/5): Its not a hotel, its like a renovating apartment - This place is dirty and currently renovating. There is no wifi at all. Cellular reception is not great on this location, you need to go out your room to find a network and join their pocket wifi that doesn't connect. Bathroom is clogged and ceiling is dirty. Staffs are friendly but the outside area is really dirty
- Verified traveler (6/5): Under construction - This hotel is under construction at the moment so is a building site. The room was dated but comfortable for a short stay. Good location for El Nido town.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overall ok for the price - Overall the stay wasn't bad, you get what you pay for so only stay if your on a budget. The hotel is located at the top end & start of the pubs and club street but just out of the way if you want a quite night. Building work is currently going on and the entrance looks like a building sight! Staff are very nice and friendly and go above and beyond if you ask for any requests. Rooms are dated and old fashioned, bed is comfortable and bathroom smells bad. Free tea and coffee waiting outside your room every morning.
- Andrea (4/5): Internet doesn't exist!! - Unfortunately I didn't like the place . As soon as I arrived I immediately noticed that they are working in the hotel to build the second floor . I asked to the manager if they were under contraction and he told me NO . ??!!(seriously)
The hotel looks old to me and the wifi it's not working at all . They should remove wifi from the ad . I was i great need of the internet connection for my job so they told me that would help me to find an other hotel with a good internet connection , which they didn't .
So , definitely I didn't like the overall experience .
- Verified traveler (2/5): Nightmare - We booked 3 hotel rooms thru hotels.com, everything went well and paid off before we arrived but when we reached the hotel after a long journey from puerto princesa, the hotel staff told us that we do not have reservations and only one room is available. Very disappointing. They do not have computer to check the reservation, only logbooks. They told us that the 2nd room will be available by 7pm and they have to transfer the other group to other hotel since there will be no 3rd room available for our 4-day stay.
Water in the toilet is dirty, rusty color and scent. No generators during brownouts, frontage of the hotel is a hardware store, same variety of breakfast everyday, they didn't inform the owner of the other hotel where the other group was transferred that they will be the one who's going to pay for the room.
Such a NIGHTMARE.
- Mary Ann (10/5): Pleasant stay - The room is small but clean. There's construction going on & should have separate entrance to the hotel but staff especially Bim Bim was very helpful. She's very quick to respond to our needs & that made our stay a pleasant one. Thank u!
- Altin (2/5): worst hotel i experienced - iT was really terrible staying in this hotel, No signal from any network so i cant connect to internet using my data, wifi should be useful but it never worked during our 3 days stay. airconditioner is not functioning well, there is no remote too, television is not working properly, it has no sounds, the comfort room smells awful, some lights are not turning on, the main lobby has no lights, the front desk officer is not always available. staff are not friendly. the hot shower is not working properly, there are no available toiletries. I will not be staying in this hotel anymore, not recommended.
- Benjamin (8/5): - Bem was accommodating. Our entire stay in this hotel was great. It would have been greater if Ariel [I don't know if I spelt his name correctly] knows how to reply to our text messages regarding our queries.
- mac (8/5): Awesome Place - Very nice for a small hotel. Staff are all friendly and very helpful. Five minutes walk to the beach and very quiet neighborhood. Will definitely recommend the hotel to our friends.
- Sie Min (8/5): Chill and nice - It was really a memorable stay because the beach was really beautiful. Especially at night, there are many pubs and places to chill beside the beach, which was really nice. But the wifi signal was not very strong, and there were quite a lot of mosquitoes when we were outside using the wifi and playing pool. But it was worth the money(:
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel ok for the price - staff is nice and helpful. The hotel, and the garden also...but don't look further!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfortable, and friendly! - 1 min walking from beach, clean rooms, excellent staff that watched our bags and allowed us to shower in a vacant room, good wifi, pool table In common room! Will definitely stay here again!
- Ryan (6/5): Budget Hotel; a little overpriced - The entrance is run down, with construction materials on the ground. Huge construction trash yard behind the hotel. Inner courtyard lawn is OK, with small tables to eat at right outside each room. Staff was nice though sometimes hidden from sight. (how about a bell at the front desk?) Room was old and bathroom wall was chiseled out for pipe repair, but wall was never fixed. Decent location down at the end of the main beach road. I stayed during tourist season and felt I paid too much for what I got. I would try a different place next time.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Warning do not stay here - On arrival, they moved us to another hotel of much lower standard for the first night. They agreed to refund the night's stay and then we had to fight to get 2/3 of it back. When I was in the bathroom they were building next door and I thought they were going to smash through the mirror I was using.
- Bella (6/5): Central in El Nido, but not much going for it - Stayed there for two nights in early Januray of 2014. I booked an payed for a deluxe room for four persons via expedia but when we arrived they hadn't prepared the room and insisted that our number came as a chock to them. Whence in the room the lighting fixtures didn't work properly, making us getting things in order in half gloom. The staff gave a great effort in trying to be hospitable but ended up giving a rather messy impression. They had no proper key system so once when we came back from breakfast they had trouble finding it (it was placed in a shelf where anyone could've grabbed it). When we asked about transport onwards they where servicable but in the morning when we went out to breakfast they changed the departure time from 10 to 9 which was a bit stressful. You get what you pay for whit with this hotel. The key thing for us with Big Creek was that it lays centrally, close to restaurants and other breakfast options such as V&C Bagel.
- Andre (6/5): Disappointing. - Our biggest disappointment was that after being told by hotel staff that we would be able to pay with a credit card, we were told "the swiper is not working, we need cash..." This created a serious cash flow problem for us that pretty well affected the remainder of our trip to El Nido and Palawan.
The mosquitoes were everywhere. There is an in-line hot water heater in the shower but was not functional. The hotel is still under construction and so do not venture onto the second floor as there is construction debris all over.
The access to WIFI was tenuous at best and made it a struggle to keep in touch with others by internet.
The staff was pleasant, Breakfast orders were taken in the evening and were promptly served early mornings. Tasty.
- bruno (6/5): Ok if the price is good... - a lot of construction and noise in the morning, the bang bang start everyday at 7 am..the breakfast was good and the room was clean also, unfortunatly the bed and pellow wasnt really good and the wifi, forget it,you have to ask for the "hotspot" and its not really good...in our case, the room was ok as we had a pretty cheap price and we are a couple that wake up pretty early...but we will try maybe another place if ever we have to come back..the location is pretty good, not too far from the beach so that's a plus..
