Guest Reviews
- Leatham (2/5): -
- Manoj Kumar (6/5): -
- Gregory (9/5): - The room was clean, the heat/AC worked, the bed was comfortable and all for a relatively cheap rate. The place does lack some amenities often found at a more expensive place like free breakfast, but for a one night stay it's perfect.
- Contreras (10/5): Relax inn just like the name relax ing - It was a very comfortable room, everything was clean, I just get upset over people who give two stars or less. I think I got more than expected so I would give them 6 stars There was no breakfast, but they don’t have the adequate space for a dining room. Again there was a Wendy’s restaurant and McDonald’s close by
- Contreras (10/5): Best place to stay. - Breakfast was not in the listing. Great place to stay. Rooms were really clean. Air conditioner was really cold
- Lauri (1/5): When we entered the room it was very cold and dirty. It looked like old cheap rental property or a one night stand room - Nothing It was very dirty and cold
- Robert (7/5): -
- robert (7/5): comfortable stay in basic room - the staff was friendly and helpful aiding me to get television to work. basic room with good wifi and a good location all ok
- Jet47525164366 (10/5): Family/vacation hotel 5 stars - Best hotel ive stayed at in years. Family friendly and the staff really make you feel at home. They treat you like you are part of there own family. Great coffee, Has a kitchen guests can use for cooking. Rooms are spotless and comfy. The staff makes sure they clean the rooms to the fullest.
- Mary (10/5): Nice place - So friendly and so clean
- Stalter (1/5): PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. - There was no breakfast. Owner claimed i ruined a towel tried keeping my money. Charged me 20 for a 1 hour late check out. Staff/owners were very rude! I did not like anything about this place! I wish I would have never waisted my money and went else where. This place is a complete dump! The owners/staff were rude! Tried taking my 50 dollar deposit for a towel i did not ruin! Pillows completely flat and disgusting. No breakfast no coffee.
- Lisa (2/5): - The property was run down and appeared to be unsafe. I did not even get out of the car.
- Robin (1/5): - There is nothing to like about this facility. If I could give negative I would. Everything. The facility is dirty, run down, used as a long stay as well aka people living herr. Air conditioner didnt work, later found out you need to put your card in it to work?? Room has garage like shelving for long stay aka people living there. The bed looks like a cot with a mediocre mattress. It was just dirty. The female manager said we didnt pay, and I stated it was completed online 3 months ago. She didnt understand what I was saying. We didnt stay at all... we left...before we left a person living there spoke to my husband and said dont stay here, this is bad. You would be better staying in ottawa.
- V3144FWdawnd (2/5): Dirty! Filthy! - Dirty and disgusting! Floors/floorboards look like they have never been cleaned. Blinds are broken. Door is rotted. Curtains are moldy and filthy. Smell was overpowering. Went to management and all they did was give us air freshener. Drove 2 hours home at 1 in the morning instead of staying at this filthy, gross hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - You get what you pay for. Music was loud, but did quiet down by 11. Heard the neighbors having sex which woke me up and in the early morning and talking.
- Dawn (2/5): DO NOT STAY! - Do not stay at this hotel. Disgusting! Dirty, dirty, dirty. Room stunk. Air conditioner reaked. Door rotted from below. Floor/floorboards dirty with bug excrement stains. Curtains disgustingly dirty. Broken blinds. Random cords everywhere. When we complained about the smell, they gave us a bottle of air freshener. Drove 2 hours home at 1 in the morning instead of staying here.
- Mario (10/5): - This is a really nice place if you want to bike. Very little cars on the roads.
- William (8/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Gerald (2/5): - Room was very cheaply furnished bed was uncomfortable. Took for ever to get hot water in sink . No room between bathroom door and toilet. Not a motel that was expected.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet comfy polite people...coffee and laundry room. Good location. Slept well Couldn't figure out air conditioner
- Ana (2/5): - Terrible
- Brandon (10/5): - Property was clean. Nice comfy overnight stay
- Leo (6/5): - Bathroom was very nice, clean, looked new!
Bed mattress was very comfortable. Waiting to be checked
in was not appreciated. over 1/2 hour waiting. Same when
we checked out.
- Q6227BRsarahc (10/5): Nice hotel. - Family operated nice hotel. Clean rooms sparking bathroom. Decent price. Very peaceful. Has laundry a kitchen for guests to use a grill for guest as well. It's located just down the street from a Walmart bowling alley and a movie theater!!!
- Katerine (2/5): - Super nice owners very mellow
- Ricky (10/5): - My only complaint need new bigger pillows.
- A (9/5): Superb - Small room but very Clean, very nice staff
- Shari (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anglique (10/5): - The people running it were out standy to ous the room was clean and will keep
- Vickie (7/5): Good - Staff was real friendly. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Very quiet and appreciated the chairs and smoking stands outside of rooms. The 1st impression of being in an enclosed office, small, dark and warm.
- Buck (7/5): Good -
- Dawn (6/5): Streatorfest - No frills, but clean. Could use some new pillows.
- Juliana (6/5): - Did not stay, had to leave right away, but the room is very small, the bed is a fold up, plastic tables. The bathroom is clean, the H/A unit is new, the floor is clean. The owners seem very kind.
- Jason (8/5): - Room was clean and the woman at the front desk waa friendly. The shelf a small table in the room were oddly not typical of a hotel room. It was plastic "garage" style pieces. I would recommend even 2nd hand wooden furniture over what is in the room. The bed was comfy enough and the AC kept it cool nicely.
- Judith (5/5): Passable -
- Tony (8/5): - Overall, I was satisfied. My room was clean and quiet.
- Christy (8/5): No frills, but well-equipped room in a friendly small town - This was my second time here. The owner is very helpful. I appreciate having a relatively large room with a small frig and microwave (bring your own dishes, though), so I can keep food costs down. The location is also easy to navigate to a church conference in Lostant.
- Sally (10/5): - I always stay here when visiting Streator. Great Owners.
- CLqwerty (4/5): Not worth a 4.5 rating. - Maybe in 2020 it was good, but in 2024: parking lot was full of pot holes; small room; no dresser (just a plastic shelving unit); had a small plastic table and chair; broken window blinds; poor heating unit; rate was low but not what Trip Advisor said it would be. Definitely not worth a rating of 4.5.
- Terry (1/5): Bad -
- Miranda (6/5): - I got into town around 7pm. There was a child at check in. They called an adult up which is when i was informed they had already rented out all their rooms. They sent me to a sister location down the road. The staff at check in there had completely blood shot eyes, but was friendly. The room at the motorlodge was nice and clean, but the parking lot lights were so bright we barely slept.
- Andy (1/5): Bogus - Not a bad price Seen a bed bug
- Crystal (7/5): Good -
- Lamont (7/5): Good -
- Tony (1/5): VERY DISAPPOINTED - NOTHING Everything, only get towles ever 2 days and wasn't told up from then went to get clean ones and got yelled at by the owners. Very rude people and could tell that the room hardly ever got cleaned. Will never stay here again and will tell all of the people I work with to never stay here.
- Willa (3/5): Poor -
- Jeff (2/5): Big -brother style watching - Overtly controlling staff. They literally watch the camera 24-7 and don’t hesitate to call your room phone repeatedly until you answer if they think you are breaking one of their many many rules even if you are not.
- CQG (10/5): - The owner of the hotel is exceptionally caring. She always has a bright smile for everyone. She keeps an eye on the property even late at night, taking personal responsibility for the safety of her customers. She is professional and works hard to provide clean, comfortable rooms. People come back because of her kindness.
- Walter (3/5): Dirty - The shower was clean. Staff was nice. The rest. Dirty. The curtains were a old single cover and stained. They did not cover the window completely. The TV remote was very dirty.
- Gloria (10/5): - Very basic and convenience
- Gerry (4/5): - Overcharged for our pet at check-in. Wouldnt have caught it if I hasn't asked for a reciept of charges at check-in. Office not open in the morning until 8a.m. Blinds broken and missing slats - curtain rod broken.
Huge, alcohol party with construction workers until midnight outside our door - couldnt sleep, felt very unsafe. If the Relax Inn is rated the #2 motel in Streator, IL we'd hate to see what the others look like. Stay Away from this motel !!!!
- Tanya (8/5): - Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and the area is quiet. Always our first choice when visiting family.
- Cynthia (10/5): - A very nice place to stay. It was in the area close to everything.
- Ashcraft (5/5): Passable -
- Anna (4/5): Never again - Was able to park outside the door to our room. The room was not very clean. We couldn't get the temperature below 74. The curtains and blinds did not cover the windows and people looked in. The furnishings and bed appeared to be leftover from a college dorm and the mattress had springs pushing through.
- Leslie (8/5): Clean & adequate for a place to sleep - I was checked in by a very pleasant lady and given my choice of a first-floor room where I spent two nights. The motel was clean, featuring a comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, and good wifi. The room appeared to have been renovated, apparently with the luxurious bathroom having been expanded at the expense of the rest of the room (which was a bit confining.) The furnishings were utilitarian but functional. There are plenty of places to shop & eat nearby. I would stay here again but hope the owners upgrade furnishings that would enhance guest comfort.
- Natcar1289 (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (10/5): - We stay here every time we visit family. We have never had any issues.
- Evans (10/5): Quiet, pleasant, within 15 minutes of my workplace. - The Relax Inn is very close to the La Salle power plant. The hosts are very kind and helpful. They resolved any issues I had promptly and effectively and communicated excellently over the course of my stay. I’ll definitely be returning next year!
- Mike (8/5): Quiet Gem - Very quiet area. It was very clean. Amenities were there just not like other motels. Very utilitarian. Which is fine it still was a nice stay
- Silvia (8/5): - Clean place to sleep.
- William (8/5): Great place - Staying here long term for business e cause it’s is cheap, however, for the price, it is a very good experience. Owners are nice and friendly, and do a great job with cleanliness. I was hesitant at first because the reviews were bad, but after noticing they were all older i decided to give it a try, I’m glad I did. The new owners really care about the place.
- Bruce (7/5): Good -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- mike (8/5): - Clean hotel in rural setting with nice picnic area.
- Gunther (8/5): Very good - Quiet. Staff was nice. Will stay at again. Bathroom wasn't really clean. Needs heavier blankets.
- Latorsha (6/5): - You get what you pay for
- Bob (8/5): - The bed was good, plenty of hot water for the shower. The toilet seat was pretty loose.
- Donald (2/5): - Very poor condition...uncomfortable furnishings. Would not recommend...spend $40 more and stay at a franchise motel.
- Michael (6/5): Fair room for fair price - The rooms are exactly as advertised - no frills, clean, cheap. I stayed two separate weekends in the same room.
One of two issues I had was with the heating system - loud, and would not just stay on, the fan only runs when the heat was on. That guaranteed an interrupted sleep.
Speaking of sleep, the bed was a hill with the ridge in the middle and slopes to the side. I recommend you bring your own pillow and an extra blanket if you need one.
For the price, it was a fair deal. The folks there were super nice to me.
- 11jordannnn (10/5): Clean & safe - 10/10 would definitely recommend a stay here. I was traveling with a friend & needed a quick stop overnight but we were nervous because we’re 2 young females traveling alone. We checked reviews and chose this place and it was a great choice. It was very clean, safe & had a very nice staff! The beds & appliances all looked brand new (cheaply furnished but definitely not a problem especially for the inexpensive room rate). Definitely will stay here again if we ever travel this way in the future. Would recommend to anyone needing a quick stop to rest on a long trip.
- Wayne D. (10/5): - Nice location, convenient to everything we were in town for. Staff very nice and helpful. Room very clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Basic, but very clean. Refrigerator, microwave, TV, very good internet access. Ice machine and drink vending. Washer and dryer room. Easy to find - right on Route 23 - but still quiet. Friendly staff.
- 1951merc (4/5): Lacking cleanliness - I was very hesitant to book this place but based on reviews I decided to give it a shot. I stayed one night and the price couldn't be beat. Check in went fine...was told there was nothing fancy but just a good clean place to stay. That wasn't true though. See pictures...
Pros:
Comfy bed
Door that locked
AC that kept the room cold
Cons:
Immediately upon walking in, it smelled musty and stale
Walls were nasty... bathroom's had brown streaks on them (see pic)
Bath towels had brown stains and holes in them
Mold in the shower
Bathroom door didn't close
Chair had some nasty stains on it
Spiders and webs in the corners
Defiantly not up to clean standards and really regret staying there.
I would look elsewhere
- Autumn (10/5): - The place was not only very clean but also a cute down to earth stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is an older hotel that appears to have new ownership or management. This hotel has a not so good reputation in the local area, but the new management seems to be making a real effort to change that. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, it also looks as though the room was recently painted and had new flooring installed. The person at the front desk was sure to let me know that the rooms are very basic, and that was what I was looking for. The hotel was quite and I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I am in town. I stayed in the hotel for three nights. This is a very basic room with beds and a TV, there was also a plastic table that served its purpose and some plastic heavy duty shelves, that also served their purpose.
- jongZ2809QI (10/5): Good Place to Stay - We came down from Wisconsin to visit Starved Rock. Relax Inn is basic room and accommodation. The beds, floor and bathroom were clean. Hot shower. Low price. We slept well. And most of all we didn't spend a whole lot for the room. Will stay here again if we are ever in the area visiting in the future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our room at the Relax Inn was minimalistic, but very clean and tidy, with all the essentials including a microwave and mini-fridge. It was a nice, quiet place to stay, just a short drive to Starved Rock State Park, and it was a bonus that dogs are allowed!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean and comfortable. I reccomend it to all
- donn826 (4/5): Work Motel - Very Old motel trying to update very basic property. They are trying to update it was clean and quite.
If you just need someplace to same for work or emergency its ok. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable
- dustina485 (10/5): Very nice - Very nice room, clean, safe and comfortable, the customer service is excellent, the rates are very affordable. Owners are highly personable, will most definitely be staying again. Next time, I'm going to stay a minimum of a week.
- Al (2/5): - It's a dump. If you are stuck and need a bed this place is it. Entire property is a dump
- Bxhappy (8/5): Nice little place - Nothing fancy, but it's clean. Bed is decent. Wish there was an extra pillow. Mini fridge and freezer work great. A lot of little places have broken ones. So glad this one worked. Stayed on upper level. It was hot in the room when we got there, but ac kept it comfortable. I'd stay again if in the area.
- Ray (6/5): Inexpensive room but poor quality. Limited parking - ROOM WAS OK
PLASTIC FURNITURE
OLD FAUCETS
- Visitor (8/5): - It was an ok place for your money. Clean, quiet and comfortable.
- Cecil (2/5): - Not a good hotel to stay in the blankets where soiled not professional and charged me 20.00 to take me to the job less than 5 miles!! Tables were dirty chairs had mildew or mold and dirty towels
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A good value for money. The staff is helpful. Easy access to region.
- E8479GPmarkh (8/5): Great Value - I have stayed at the Relax Inn a few times now. Owners Kevin and Reshma are fantastic. They truly care about the reputation of their motel and it shows. In this day and age it is so hard to find a decent place to stay at a reasonable price. Well, they exceed expectations on both accounts. Great amenities and well cared for establishment. I will continue staying here as long as there is availability.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is very basic accommodation, all access to the staff through a small window.
- Sarah (8/5): - Very nice place. However one guy who I’m assuming worked for the place was kind of creepy, he’d stare, and literally no more than 2 minutes after leaving our room after checking out, he went in to check it out. At least wait a bit, yknow?
- Rebecca (10/5): Clean and friendly! - Always stay here whenever we come back home. Great affordable rooms. Very nice staff. Always clean and simple rooms.
- McStoutin (8/5): - Clean linens, and room. Fridge and Microwave. Hot shower. A/c kept room comfortable. I've stayed in more expensive hotels that did not have Fridges or microwaves. The rooms are priced right.
- Dewey (8/5): - Clean and comfortable would stay there again.
- Wallace (10/5): A fantastic value-Clean, comfortable and friendly. - The room, as the woman at check in told us, was basic, but we had everything we needed and it was new and extremely clean. The shower was great. The woman at check in gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner. The staff was friendly and they even accommodated an extra hour for check out.
We were also pleased that the charge for our dog was only $10.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was terrific. The accommodations were bare minimum which was just what we were looking for. The decorative brick edge to the parking lot leading to the rooms were loose and a bit dangerous but we fared ok. We would recommend the Relax Inn to anyone not looking for much more than a place to sleep and shower.
- Jerome (8/5): In Streator, you can't beat her. - Found relax inn at Streator to br a good experience and a bargain. Ropm was clean and refreshed daily. Steve the caretaker was friendly amd helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - cheap but the bed could be upgraded to something a little more comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - To expensive for having two adults and two kids shouldn't have to pay that much
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel - Room was a no frills room and rather small for a couple. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. The room served our purposes perfectly though, just needed a clean bed to rest in.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The person at the front desk refused to let us check in because he didn't like the way we smelled! Unbelievably rude!
