Guest Reviews
- Sabrina (7/5): - Gutes Frühstücksbuffet.
Vatikan zu Fuß erreichbar. Sehr unbequeme, durchgelegene Betten.

- Greta (7/5): Good place for a short stay. - Receptionists were very helpful, polite and warm personalities. Also a daily room service was great. The room fairly modern with a good foam mattress. I liked that the room was bright with 2 windows. Quiet during the night. Bus stop and a train station were nearby. Close to Vatican, great if that’s your main visit point. There was no wardrobe or any space to keep the luggages!! Only a couple of hangers but it’s not enough for two persons. So everything was kept on the floor in the suitcases. In the bathroom was the same. For one maybe works okay, but us two struggled to keep the room neat and find things among things on the floor.
Terrace downstairs seemed like a nice place but we were not allowed to bring anything, not even a little snack. So there was no point to be sitting there, unless you’re a smoker.
A bar was very nicely advertised but the only beautiful view is to the basilica’s dome, the rest - boring and overpriced, not worth even trying in my opinion.
Breakfast was okay, but not much of a change every day, so staying for 5 nights we basically ate the same. The breakfast team seemed fairly friendly at the start. Later one lady seemed like she was not enjoying her work and for her everything was not allowed, commanding everyone what to do what not to do. It didn’t feel welcoming but the opposite, it felt like the guests disturb her life. Also sometimes the staff talked so loudly between each other, shouting over the room. I found that super disturbing and rude. Not very pleasant start of the day experience when you just want a calm and quiet morning.

- Yevheniia (10/5): excellent!! - Everything was perfect - room, especially breakfast, friendly staff, location, quiet neiborhood, clean, early check-in... I like this place so much and will come again)

- Foxes2017 (8/5): Very special Easter break. - Lovely hotel, great location, good choice at breakfast but small menu. Staff all wonderful!!! Only problem with room we stayed in was noise, room 422 is under evening restaurant so beware. This is definitely a hotel we will stay in again but will ask for a quiet room. Amazing choice of restaurants with in walking distance and Vatican City!!! I booked with Click n Go a great company to travel with, thank you Alan. Xx

- Hilary (10/5): Staff excellent very friendly hotel perfect for a base to site see in room . - Location handy for St Peter’s square. Staff was excellent especially Lorenzo . We had dinner first night we were late arriving they were very poor choice .
- W1302KVgeorged (6/5): Friendly, modest and clean hotel - The location is very close to St Peter’s square, within 15 minutes walking distance. However all other historical locations are 40 - 90 minutes walk away. The overall atmosphere within this small hotel was inviting and the staff are very approachable and helpful and more than welcome to assist and advise.
The room allocated was on the ground floor and close to the reception, this did allow foot traffic noise. Overall the room allocated was sparsely equipped, with no drawers or enclosed wardrobes, hence constantly selecting clothing etc from suitcases, would be a major issue if staying for 4 + nights. Restaurant and roof top bar are above average with a standard menu and drinks selection. The staff once again were very responsive, friendly and polite.
If I was going to visit Rome again I would select a more centralised location. The daily room cleaning was excellent with no negative issues to report.
- Jo (8/5): -
- Massimiliano (10/5): -
- SusieB463 (8/5): Great trip to Rome - This was a 60th birthday present for my husband who wanted to see Rome.
There were some niggly downsides, the room was 108 and there were issues with a toilet seat, sewer smell in the bathroom and some issues with damp, and what looked like exposed insulation foam around the bathroom door.
However they werent enough of an issue to complain although we did ask for the toilet seat to be tightened up. Hopefully the maintenance team can resolve these issues.
That being said, the staff were lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept well every night. Breakfast was good and they were able to cater for gluten free.
Great location for the Vatican and the station to get into central Rome.
Would we stay again, most likely although we would probably avoid 108.

- jij273 (2/5): You can not sleep in this hotel! - If you want to have a good night sleep then, you have to avoid this hotel. Eventhough everything was nice (the location, breakfast and the friendly staff) my room was absolutely awful. Seriously, you can hear everything from the reception and plus next rooms. When I sat down my bed, I couldn't believe the noise coming from next rooms! This is the video I recorded it. They changed my room after 3 attempts but it was still bad 😢 I will definitely come back to Rome but NOT THIS HOTEL! 😡

- pamelamG1649WJ (10/5): 60th / rugby celebration - We went to celebrate husband 60th Birthday and go and watch the Rugby. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. I emailed the staff to do something for my husband and they fulfilled what I asked them. Andrea and Alessandra and the housekeeper jeanaveene did me proud. Thank you xx
- D9840VClinh (10/5): Exceptional hospitality - Andrea you made our first experience priceless with your knowledge advise and friendly
We has a long day travelling and your greeting was so welcoming. You and the staff have been amazing. Thank you so much.
- 61italial (2/5): Avoid this hotel - After staying at this hotel in June 2024, we had such a lovely time and knew we would rebook if we ever came to Rome again. We loved every minute, especially the rooftop bar and the small bites available to accompany drinks, it was very romantic.
We then fast forward to June 2025 where we rebooked for February 2026 for our anniversary. We have returned home sadly very disappointed.
I must note we were kindly given the same room from our first visit due to it being our anniversary, and the rooms and facilities were all very clean, the room was cleaned daily and towels changed often.
Although this hotel had been renovated on our first trip and is in a great location, this time we noticed things hadn’t been kept on top of. The sink and shower leaked numerous times. We really looked forward to going to the rooftop bar again, however when we went up, prices had significantly increased, and there was no ambient music or atmosphere like last time.
We were unable to sleep for 2 nights due to noise from both staff and guests alike, with shouting in the corridors into early hours, resuming again in the morning. My partner had to enter the hallway on 2 occasions to ask for quiet. This could be expected if we booked a party hotel, but we wanted a relaxed, romantic trip and to feel refreshed for sightseeing (as would most!). The room was far from noise proof, and the bed was super uncomfortable. In addition to this, we arrived and were told we could not use the AC despite it being rather warm in the room, and were told instead to open the windows - however the bathroom window we were physically unable to open. This made for a really uncomfortable night and added to the difficulties we had with sleeping.
If you are looking for a peaceful stay to be relaxed and refreshed, this hotel is not for you. Hopefully things can be rectified to be back how they were on our first visit.
- etravelg (8/5): Affordable, clean hotel with friendly staff, but frustrating TV issues. - Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, including our room and the shared areas, and the reception staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. One member of staff in particular was incredibly kind and patient when my boyfriend was unwell, helping me find a nearby pharmacy and offering helpful advice, which I really appreciated.
The location was convenient, around 25 minutes from the airport and St Peter’s Square, and about an hour’s walk to the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, and city centre, which honestly did not feel too far. There is also a pharmacy and both small and large shops within a five-minute walk, which was very useful.
The room was clean but smaller than expected, although this was likely due to booking through a package holiday rather than the hotel itself. The walls were also quite thin, so we could hear plumbing and corridor noise.
One of the main issues during our stay was the TV. There were no English channels available at all, which became particularly frustrating as my boyfriend was unwell and we had to spend long periods in the room. After the first day, the TV stopped working entirely and lost all channels. I tried rescanning multiple times without success and reported it to reception. I was told to try scanning again and that it would be sorted the next day, but nothing was ever fixed. This meant we had no TV at all for most of the stay, which made being stuck in the room much less comfortable.
The breakfast was also a bit disappointing for €10, with limited hot food and fresh fruit, mostly consisting of cereal, deli meats, yoghurt, bread, and processed pastries. However, the view from the breakfast area was lovely.
Overall, this hotel fits its 3-star rating well. The cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location were definite highlights. However, the unresolved TV issue was a significant downside, especially given the circumstances.
- 21lyndaj (8/5): Three night stay - Three-Night Stay – Mixed Experience but Some Lovely Highlights
We stayed here for three nights and the location is definitely a plus point – just a couple of minutes’ walk from the train station (though up a bit of a hill). Check‑in was a great start to the trip: the reception staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, our first impression of the room was disappointing. It looked nothing like the photos of the standard double on the hotel’s website (see my photos). The room smelled musty and damp, and because it was so dark it felt a bit like a dungeon. Both windows were screened off, so we couldn’t see out or open them, which didn’t help the atmosphere.
That said, on reflection, for the price we paid and the fact we only really slept in the room, it was manageable. The bed was extremely comfortable, the maid service was excellent, the room was spotless, and the complimentary toiletries were absolutely gorgeous.
Breakfast, however, was the biggest let‑down. It was the coldest hot breakfast we’ve ever had. The scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and potatoes were all cold, and even the hot plate underneath was only warm (again, see my photos). If you enjoy pastries, you’ll be fine, but otherwise the options were limited. I ended up with cheese on toast and yogurt.
The saving grace was the view from the breakfast room – absolutely stunning, with a perfect outlook over St. Peter’s Basilica. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks on the rooftop bar in the evenings, which offered the same beautiful view of the dome lit up at night.
For dinner, we ate at a local restaurant called Goose, just a five‑minute walk from the hotel, all three nights. The food was fabulous, clearly a spot popular with locals, and the staff were lovely and spoke great English. The wine, Aperol Spritz, and Negroni were all excellent and very reasonably priced.
Overall, a mixed stay: some real positives, especially the staff, cleanliness, and views, but the room and breakfast definitely didn’t live up to expectations.
- SuzanneW230 (10/5): Lovely little hotel - What a lovely little hotel. We recieved a warm welcome, arriving at 11:45pm. It was my birthday the following day and the staff had decorated our room with balloons and free bubbly. Our room was a tripple and we had a lovely terrace with an orange tree, parrakeets and a side view of St Peter’s basillica. Breakfast was great and varied. There were pancakes on pancake day and my husband was pleased as there was bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs on some days (we were only expecting continental). We enjoyed cocktails in the roof top bar on one occasion which was nice. The bed was super comfy and we had a large bathroom. Our room was cleaned every day. We had a great stay overall and would definitely return to this hotel next time we visit Rome.
- JanVinnecombe (10/5): Definitely a must stay Hotel. - What else can I say but Wow! Hotel is immaculately clean, beds are extremely comfy, food is absolutely delicious and the Hotel staff go out of their way to make you feel almost like one of the family. Extremely good knowledge of local area which helped us get the most out of our few days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without a moments hesitation. Special mention to Nancy. Who welcomed us on our first day. Will definitely return one day.
If you are looking for a high end Hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Central Rome with only a 10minute bus journey into the Centre. This is the most be to pick.
- Stefan Streckel (7/5): Gute Lage, neben dem Vatikan! - Gute Lage mitten in Rom, viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Zimmer ziemlich dunkel, Ausstattung mittelprächtig
- craigski14 (8/5): Trip to the Eternal City - A lovely hotel nestled near the vatican which is a 10 minute walk away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Alessandro (excuse my spelling). The room was clean and tidy, cleaned daily. We had a quick snack and drink upstairs, which was lovely too and a nice choice at breakfast.
- sheribH8437AQ (10/5): Loved the Fragrance!!! - Great hotel! I loved the breakfast buffet and very amazing view every morning and the staff were extremely attentive, Lorenzo helped me so much from the airport to the end of the stay and recommended a really cool market and other areas based on what I was looking for on my last minute trip. Just a wonderful, secure place for solo travel and cool decor as well. Lorenzo also told me about the spa near the airport to finish the trip! Definitely worth it.
- elliemiak (10/5): Fabulous stay at fragrance - Me and my sister checked into our stay here on the 24th of January, we were a little worried as we arrived at 12pm and knew check in was not till 2pm. However, we were greeted by the amazing Andrea who told us that our room was ready. He showed us to our room and allowed us to settle in, even made sure our room changed to twin beds not a double… more about Andrea later.
We settled in and spent the evening up on the roof terrace, where we enjoyed a couple of drinks and a charcuterie board between us (see photo). The bill for the roof terrace is charged to the room where you can pay for it at reception or upon checkout, all you have to do is sign the bill. You can also excess outside to see the love heart to which the Vatican is in the centre (see photo).
Breakfast was lovely, we were here for 5 nights and each morning there was a couple of different dishes. Overall we were both happy.
Every staff member we encountered were friendly and always said hello. However, we do have to give a special shout out to Andrea who made our stay beyond special. Always happy to speak to us and have a lovely conversation about where to go, lady gaga, etc. Honestly what an asset to the fragrance team! Thank you for everything Andrea, we will miss you.
Overall, we had a lovely stay at fragrance and would definitely return. The only things I would mention is the WiFi can be a bit temperamental as we had to keep changing the WiFi name. Also for UK travellers best to have an Italian plug outlet as there was only one European socket. However, all in all was a wonderful stay.

- Monika (8/5): Miły pobyt. Obsługa super - Doskonały i profesjonalny personel, bardzo (!) miły i pomocny. 24-godzinna recepcja.
Hotel czyściutk, piękny widok z tarasu ostatniego piętra na Bazylikę Sw. Piotra.
W miarę blisko do Placu sw Piotra - 15-20 min pieszo. Blisko do stacji kolejowej i przystanku autobusowego (kilka minut pieszo)
Bezpieczna okolica. Warto to uwzględnić.
- Katiemae2020 (10/5): Good hotel! - Great hotel, located in a more quiet area which is great in my opinion. 5 min walk to Vatican, and can also easily walk to all the main attractions in Rome. Train station about two min walk away. The hotel room was good very clean, we did have an issue where our room was not cleaned however we just asked the desk and they cleaned it right away. Very friendly lady on the front desk who was very informative and kind! We did not try the food in the restaurant as we out but the hotel it self did seem lovely!
- Geoff (9/5): Good hotel with spacious rooms and breakfast room on top floor - Comfortable room, fairly close to the Vatican
Good breakfast room / bar on top floor It is close to San Pietro train station but on the side where there are no lifts - was a bit of a struggle with heavy luggage
- Voyage05805491120 (8/5): Lesley roams Rome - We have had a wonderful time in Rome with a great deal of help from Alessandro who shared his knowledge but with a great deal of personality and although all the staff were all friendly and approachable Alessandro stood out by miles. Engaging and informative. An absolute pleasure to meet.
- Norietta (8/5): - Near bus stop, train station and 17mins walk to St.Peters Basilica. Lovely staff, especially Lorenzo at front desk. The lift.
- Barneyonhols (8/5): Birthday trip to Rome - Staff are very friendly and helpful, front desk especially, breakfast buffet good with attentive staff, room clean and tidy, decor a little tired, and my wife found mattress uncomfortable. Overall, it is perfect for a short stay in Rome. Would stay here again
- Igor (10/5): - Un hotel de nota 10,personal plăcut, mic dejun foarte bogat în alegere ,amplasare foarte bună . Recomand cu încredere!!!
- thorbjorn (10/5): Very friendly and helpful staff - Excellent staff! Good location. Everything was great.
- NICHOLAS (8/5): Absolutely Fab and a warm welcome! - The location was good, especially with a few minutes or half an hour walk towards the vatican city. There was near by restaurants to enjoy a night out or have lunch. Overall interesting experience. Can't think of anything negative to say, except when i took a taxi from Rome Terminal (central train station). I was over charge by €6, i guess the driver was just in a bad mood. But that's no excuss to overcharger passengers.

- the-lavender-house (10/5): Fabulous hotel - We stayed as a family for 3 nights in January in a quadruple room. The location is excellent. The Vatican is about 15 minutes walk away with loads of good restaurants nearby (we recommend Goose). The hop on/hop off bus stops are about a 25 minutes walk from the hotel which is no issue for us (past The Vatican).
The room was an excellent size. Beds were comfortable and storage wasn't an issue. The bathroom far exceeded expectations and was very large. The shower was very good and we had 2 sinks as well as a bath with another shower over.
Breakfast in the hotel was good quality and plentiful with a great view.
Every member of staff we encountered was cheerful, friendly and super helpful.
Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel. We would love to stay here again!

- Samir (5/5): Vatican is at walking distance. Otherwise it's below average although the rent is quite high. - The rooftop restaurant was nice. The balcony adjacent to the room was very good. The breakfast was very good. The elevator was horribly small. The staircase extremely narrow with high steps. However this can not be helped because the property has space crunch. Standard toiletries were absent. No toothpaste, no toothbrush, no comb, no body lotion, no slippers.

- Gözde (4/5): - Tesisin konumu iyiydi, Vatikan’a yurume mesafesinde. Calisanlar cok guleryuzlu ve yardimci. Oda ve banyo temizligi iyi degildi. Odalar eskiydi. Yorganlarin iki carsaf arasinda olmasi, yani kilif olmamasi cok konforsuz ve hijyenik degildi.
Kahvalti yetersizdi.
- Antonis (7/5): - very small room

- emmakM7702TT (8/5): Lovely hotel - Lovely triple room, nice little restaurant and food terrace, pleasant staff, very clean, great sleep. Good location for St Peter’s , maybe just a little far out for other sights.
- Andreea-Elena (10/5): -

Possui cabideiro
- Weekate58 (10/5): 70th Birthday Celebrations - We had a lovely stay st Fragrance St Peter for my husbands 70th birthday absolutly spotless staff all lovely rooms cleaned every day would definately recommend
- steveMqueen (4/5): Low quality rooms that did not meet the standards advertised or expected - At first glance the hotel seemed lovely, reception was nice looking and staff were very nice. All seemed great until we got the room key. The room itself was tiny despite being a double, there was a pillar in the middle of the room making the bed awkwardly positioned, the view in the photos that were advertised was non-existent as we were put in the lower level room with a frosted window covered with metal bars and mesh as well as being bolted shut so we couldn’t even open them, the room had a distinct smell of poo which we discovered was because the toilet hasn’t been properly flushed and had left some poo in the bowl which smelt incredibly strong upon opening the lid. The soundproofing that was mentioned is practically nonexistent as we could hear the next guests checking in at reception from the room as we sat on the bed in the room. The minibar that was mentioned is just a vending machine in the reception lobby. When I first booked the hotel a year in advance the website stated that it was a 4 star hotel only to discover it was a 3 star by the moment we arrived. Came here to celebrate my partners birthday with hopes of proposal but due to the bad taste the room has left decided to wait until we are back at home.
- Anna (8/5): Overall very nice! - It was a really nice stay! The hotel is very basic and quite small but very very well run and clean! Every day room service, the bed was always done, towels changed every day! The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful!
Breakfast is simple, but you'll not stay hungry and keep a space for yummy snacks during your city walks 😁 Breakfast rooftop restaurant is lovely especially on sunny days, nice view, also clean and very friendly staff!
The location is great, relatively close to the City center, but very quiet street. Poor soundproof in the room, sewage smell sometimes, some strange noises during the night.
If you like to sleep until late, you'll be struggling, because the hotel (guests and staff) wake up from 6:30 and you start hearing all the noises.
The bed was comfy, but bedsheets were partially synthetic..
- Fabio (10/5): - Accoglienza dello staff, rooftop vista Cupolone, colazione ricca
