Guest Reviews
- Boon Theng (8/5): - Clean room but stained towel provided.
- INTAN BAIZURA (8/5): - Ok
- Don (10/5): Great for the budget - For the money, I thought it was fantastic!!
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Stamp (4/5): - the room smells smorking although the hotel supposed to be all non smoking. Room facilities and amenities are not cleaned enough. they had over booked on my reserved room type so i got down-graded without refund on the first day. it was big disappointment because I had good experience on the last time I stayed a year ago.
- Atef (4/5): Unhygienic - It was not so good ..after booking I been shown a filthy room I refuse to stay there then they try hard to replace the bedding but still unhygienic .I demand refund but couldn't happend .so I had to stay one night unwilling.I think hotels should replaced Thier bed sheets so often .
- Thomas (6/5): Not bad for the price - The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. There were a few problem with the room he first was The a/c would not work sometimes, the same with the WiFi. Also the power would occasionally go out.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - AC NOT WORKNG GOOD, MADE COMPLAIN AND THE RECEPTION IS MORE ANGRY THEN US. FOUND IT VERY FUNNY
- Verified traveler (10/5): good stay, great staff and good location - amazing stay at your hotel. clean and comfortable. the only this is our room aircond (room 111) is not functioning. i couldn't change to other room because its full house. A slight improvement in your breakfast menu is better. we did not ask much, is just the taste is not that good. an international simple menu or your local menu is good enough is the taste is there.
- David (8/5): Good price for the value location so so but not to - Good price for the value location so so but not to far from the center stuff are very helpful and always smiling
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location is good near from grand indonesia shopping center ..
The breakfast is poor ..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice but very smokey - Very smokey environment. We won't be coming back to Indonesia until they implement a smoking ban.
- King John (8/5): Very Poor Internet! great location - Clay hotel is very good in terms of location . Very near all public transportation. Front desk during nightshift is a bit arrogant . Did not even tried to help us find adopter for our charger . Wifi is really bad . Food is ok.still a good choice if you want to upload your pictures down the lobby
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel very easy to access by transportation - At first when i request for early check in if there have any available room not occupied, the service person said room is fully occupied then i wait for 1 hour, have another group from local came to check in and that group can early check in without any problem. So i go to the receiptionist asking about that, only after that I can check in. But overalll the hotel still good for stay near to the attraction and east access.
- mohd ali (8/5): - great stay...this is my forth times stay here.
- rafael (6/5): - Breakfast very poor, room size very small and not very clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): So so - It is too small room
- Meng Hwee (8/5): Deteriorating good value hotel - The business room I booked was the highest grade and has a proper window. However, I need to climb over the bed to the window side. I requested for a downgrade to a superior room with a small slit window facing the rear. The air con was not cold but was repaired and improved after my complaints. Good value as hotel is relatively new but noted that maintenance is lax - light behind bed falling off, vanity light not working, curtain rail falling off, smelly smoking rm and AC not cold etc.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very bad experience - Hotel rooms was smelling the sewers and this was very unpleasant. No isolation and could hear noise from the hallway.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room location was perfect, as I requested, far from elevator or stairs to minimize noise. However, since the room is facing west direction, the afternoon sun makes the room a bit hot, moreover there was no blinds at the window to cover the sunlight.
The A/C was also not in a good condition. It produced a noise which was a bit annoying. The staffs knew about this but did not do anything. I didn't ask for a room change because I like the location.
Other than that, the rest were still acceptable. Thank you Clay Hotel. I only wish you the best and hope that you would improve to maintain your quality.
ps. I think it's now time to change the towels and linens with new ones. They were all in grey shades already and dull.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Aircon is bad. Not very clean. - Not really happy with the stay. Not value for money. No cleanliness in the room.
Lobby
Nicely decorated. Aircon ventilation not good. Very stuffy & hot.
Staff
Pretty well done. Polite. Able to converse simple english.
Room
Aircon ventilation extremely bad. Though is an opaque window, Sunlight rays still shining across the room brightly. There's a green arrow direction for Muslim prayers. I think that is why they didn't add on the curtains. Bed & pillow wasn't comfy looks a like dirty second-hand with all the drools on the bedsheets / pillow covers. Pillows are deflated. Covers are flimsy & rough. Looking bad on the inside.
Bathroom with dirty stains in tiles. Slight drained sewage smells. Not much international tv channels & it's mostly fussy & not clear. Overall room interior look just find. Spacious to move around & with a proper shelves/hangers to store your garments & luggage.
Facilities
Free breakfast from 6am to 10.30am. There's staff to prepare pancakes, toast, fried rice etc. Good enough for pple to go to work.
Wifi
Not bad router where you don't have to keep logging in for password.
Location
Though it's looks like somewhat prime location. It's just somewhere near the little alley.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Cheap, but dirty - I stayed here for a two week period. The rooms were small, but totally ok for the price of $22 per night being then location it is.
During the two weeks, I never got one completely clean bedsheet. They all had spots on them. I complained the first day, and they gave me another room, but it wasn't any better. I had a different room the second week, but both rooms had horrible ACs that never really cooled down the room. The first room that I had was facing north (towards Grand Indonesia), and there was a very loud mosque going off every morning that penetrated the walls. For the second week I got a room facing south, which was much more quiet.
For some reason part of the room has a glass wall facing the neighboring room. The glass wall is shaded off in the middle, but light can still shine through. The most annoying part was that my neighbor seems to like sleeping with the light on, which also lighted up my room.
The food was ok for the price. In addition to Indonesian oily breakfast, they also served pancakes, omelettes, and fresh fruit. As long as you spray yourself with bug spray before going down to eat, you'll be fine. There were unbelievable amount of bugs in the food area and quite a few flies on the fruit as it was not covered up.
All in all, it was a very cheap hotel for the location, but the cleanliness and hygiene could have been much better!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are very helpful and polite. The room is clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): I will definitely come back - I stay for one night on weekend with my friend, apart from the predictable small size room and area, plus limited parking space because it is obviously business hotel, the staffs were AMAZING, helpful, friendly and definitely welcoming. If I ever have to stay on the area, I will definitely come back
- al (8/5): Great location, clean and inexpensive - Great location along Sudirman. Its an easy walk to Grand Indonesia Shopping town. The place is clean and inexpensive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice budget hotel - For budget hotel is quite nice, also strategic place, near to downtown.
Breakfast quite complete as omelet, pancake and main course
Room for improvement: acoustic for the wall, it must be improved so sound or voice from outside will not be heard.
- Yosef (6/5): Can't stir my complimentary tea - Booked at last minutes, I had to returned back to reception and pay an extra fees for a room with window. Fortunately the staff treated me quickly well. But I was quite surprised to find that I can't stir my complimentary hot tea. No small baguette no small spoon. So I just gulp the two medium bottles of complimentary water.
- Verified traveler (2/5): half star only - We booked business studio room but the room was so small. Location not so good compare with other 3 star hotel in Indonesia eg Orchard Jayakarta. The bed sheet was dirty and request for change. They didnt fullfill our request.
Very low class hotel. Future have to be extra carefull with the photo given by the website
- Darmo (6/5): Okay hotel for its price - It was an okay hotel. I was suppose to check in at 2 pm but no room was availabe until 3 pm. The WIFI was working well and the breakfast was okay - good.
Location wise, it was good because its close by to some shopping malls, which was convenient.
- Verified traveler (2/5): One of the wores hotel - Very bad hotel i hate expedia for telling me they good hotel i will never book with you guys again
- Verified traveler (2/5): They have no idea whats going on - They dont know how to make cusmter happy and welcome them very poor hotel
- ratna (4/5): Very standard hotel with minimum facility. - Very small room. Bed cover needs cleaning, my legs got itchy. But it's OK for just an overnite stay.
- lor (8/5): Hotel Acceptable but dont expect too much - Breakfast is very simple
Rooms are very small
There is a Mosque Just behind so especially at night they will wake you up when they start playing. .....very disturbing!!
The Location of the hotel is good with transport near by
Regarding cleaniness dont expect much!!!!!
- orryj (2/5): Terrible Hotel, Stay somewhere else - There is no air flow in this hotel at all
Bad breakfast
Very dark rooms
Dirty beds
Staff speak 5 words in english, while scooter drivers are very fluent so this is bad hotel management
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location and price, some cleanliness problems - The hotel is well located and good value, but there were a few problems with cleanliness, particularly in my room, where the bedsheets were stained, and in the dining area where plates and surfaces were dirty.
- janos (6/5): Pretty average - Nothing exciting nor is it anything spectacular.
The place is pretty average.
Staff is nice and friendly.
Food is basic at best that is for breakfast.
Location is handy to station.
Also to various malls
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel!Value for money!! - Friendly staff and clean rooms..Happy with the service!
- Chisna (6/5): Hotel near to the center of city - I stayed for one night in this hotel because I want to hang around the center of Jakarta. This hotel is near from Grand Indonesia, which is the largest Mall in Jakarta.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, no window - Excellent varied breakfast with fruit; clean room, towels changed daily, but no window and later there were ants.
- Jasmine (8/5): good location, no window - Really good varied breakfast with fruit; my room was very clean, but no window and later had some ants; towels changed everyday
- milehigh (8/5): Another stay.. - Have returned back to this hotel mainly because of the location and the price. The staff are always helpful and I've had no issues really. Pretty much standard for an Indonesian lower-budget hotel. Noodles and rice for breakfast :)
- milehigh (8/5): Yet another stay! - I keep coming back to this hotel mainly for the location... It's not far from some main shopping areas and you can easily get taxis to anywhere. Clean enough, quiet enough and generally ok! Staff are friendly and as stated, I keep coming back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Location - Room had been previously used by a smoker, but the smell didn't last long (This is typical of Indonesia where everyone seems to smoke!). Room was clean enough and the location is great. Very close to the main malls in town. Cheap and cheerful really with breakfast (Indo style) included.
- Andi (4/5): Unclean Room - When I stayed in the hotel, the house keeping man knock the door. But because I was on the phone, I ignored him. He tried to open the door which I locked from inside and latched. He successfully opened the lock but could not open because latched. I asked him to clean up the room later. Before I left the hotel for a meeting around 2PM, I hang the clean up room sign. Unfortunately when I came back to hotel at 10PM, my room was not cleaned up yet. What a pity.
