- MARCIA LIKA (9/5): Boa localização - A recepção foi muito boa, com equipe muito atenciosa e que falavam bem o inglês. Muito limpo, apesar do quarto ser apertado (padrão japonês). Levem pouca mala. Próximo de estações de metrô e ônibus. O café da manhã era repetitivo. Somente duas opções, todos os dias essas duas opções. Podem continuar com 2 opções, mas diversificar um pouco a comida ao longo da semana.

Nous avons fait transférer nos bagages dans une autre ville pour ne pas avoir à les porter nous même dans le sinkensen ou c'est de plus en plus mal tolérés. ils se sont occupés de tout Hôtel très bien situé à 9 mn de la gare de Kyoto, subway proche ainsi qu'un arrêt de bus . Franchement rien

- Makoto (8/5): お陰でゆっくりと休めました。 - 綺麗で清潔感が溢れる施設だった。また従業員の皆さんもとても感じが良かった。 ３連泊でしたが、朝食の内容が洋食は全く同じ、和食は魚が変わるだけで毎日同じ内容だったのは少々がっかり。また和食はご飯のお代わりが出来たが洋食はパンのお代わりはできず、せめてパンとジャム/バターは自由に取らせてほしかった。

- Rachel (6/5): - The room was clean and quiet. They have the most hard and uncomfortable pillows ever. Every day I turned my bed around and 3 times they turned it back so I had to turn it around again. Other than when we arrived no one ever said irrashaimase or made us feel welcome. The breakfast was good value.
- David (7/5): Good affordable business hotel, just on station away from Kyoto Station - As a family, having a restaurant right next door with roomy 4-6 seat benches was very easy to work with. The room although clean and modern enough, wasn't too comfortable. It's a business hotel though so as expected.
- Clifford (8/5): Very good - Room size was good. If you stay in the new wing then although the hotel is on the main road you are set back and it is quiet. Laundry facility is good as is the drinks in the lobby. One staff asked me to leave my key when I was going out, this seemed to be a policy or a way for them to know when to clean the room but the way they asked was more like a command than a request. I did not comply as I dislike having to queue at the front desk on returning to the hotel just to get a key. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station which is okay but if you have heavy luggage you should be ready for that.

- Verified traveler (6/5): 過不足ない普通のホテル - 全体的には過不足ない普通のホテルかと思います。 ただ、受付の方が咳をされていたのが気になりました。 誰でも何らかの体調の都合があるので、仕方ないことですが、昨今の状況を考えると、やはり不安になります。
- Verified traveler (10/5): また、利用します。 - 2人での滞在でした。クイーンサイズのベッドが2つありましたので、カップルでも同性の出張などでも充分です。駐車場は敷地内にありましたので不便さは感じませんでした。駅までも徒歩圏なので歩いて出かけるのもいいかと。 ただ、駐車場代がかかると思ってなかったので想定外の出費でした。どこかに記載があって見落としてたらすみません。 設備などはほとんど新しかったので満足できました。この価格では十分です。

- 48etienne (10/5): For US-sized rooms in Kyoto - You will adore this place, particularly if you ask for a double beds premium room, which, at a very decent price, will offer you a very large sized room, with a large sofa beyond the two extremely comfortable beds. The second building, located on the other end of the parking lot that separates both buildings, is the newest of the two. Extremely quiet location and very friendly front desk. Its location is great as well : it is a 10 minutes walk from the south side of the main train station, and it has its own shuttle service ( easily recognizable blue color bus ) from the train station to the hotel in case you'd carry heavy suitcases. There is a Seven Eleven literally 2 minutes walk from the entrance of the hotel, and the hotel has quite a few washing and drying machines, all coin operated. Lastly, the Internet Wifi works perfectly well.
- mercier11 (10/5): Excellent hotel - We stayed in a room with 2 separate beds because one big bed was too small for us. The staff understood and it was no problem to change. They are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. There is also a shuttle bus to the station and many shops as well. You can also easily walk to the station it is not far away since it is centrally located. We will certainly come back again.
- tomoko (8/5): Great Stay for a Family Wedding - We spent a few days here for a family wedding and had a great experience. The hotel is an 8 minute walk from the train station. Great shopping and restaurants all around as well as beautiful Inokashira park close by. The hotel has a bowling alley that is free to guests and we all had a great time here. Karaoke and nightlife were also within a few blocks. It’s easy to get to either Shinjuku or Shibuya by train. My family of 5 squeezed into a family room and it was fine for us. Compact, clean and efficient with Western style rooms. You won’t spend much time in the room anyway. Service was friendly, but don’t expect an English-speaking staff. However, everyone was helpful and accommodating, providing irons/ironing board for our wrinkled wedding clothes and helping us reserve a group room for karaoke etc.. The breakfast buffet (7-10am) is nice, but there are plenty of places around if you don’t want to spend 1900 yen (2400 if you’re not a guest) on breakfast. There’s a cute bread and coffee shop on the floor below at street level as well.

- BMbale (6/5): Conference - Clean, very good internet connection? Friendly staff who even though may not speak english are courteous and make you feel at home. Loved the old lady waitresses in the restaurant. Room was very small though but fancy toilet. A walking distance from Kyoto station. 2nd floor has wide array of vending machines if you are hungry in the middle of the night
- pnpinsing (8/5): In vicinity of the station and good nice clean hotel - In a foreign land, what more you want, a decent hotel centrally located or I would say aptly located, English speaking staff, clean nice hotel. It only adds to the whole enjoyable experience of Japan and Kyoto.
- Sookfern (6/5): A fair stay - The hotel has a very convenient shuttle bus to and from Kyoto Station, which is handy for travels. The room itself had adequate amenities but was small. Boiling water for two people was somewhat difficult because the boiling pot in the room was enough for 1.5 cups of water at most. The bed was comfortable and we loved the charcoal pillow insert they had.
- Elewiuxte (8/5): Small room but quite a good value for price - the hotel location is very good as it was near the central train station and we really appreciated the shuttle bus going back and forth to the station which was really comfortable as we were travelling with few luggage's. next to the hotel there are also several grocery stores open 24 hours and in the station you can find many restaurants the room is very small so it was very challenging even to open the luggage's, but it was very clean and with a very good Wi-Fi connection. so we appreciated that. Reception hardly speak English but I noticed this also in other hotels in Japan...a bit strange for people from Europe I guess. there was a change of towels in the room everyday so also that was nice. I cannot comment on the air-conditioning as we didn't use it because the temperature was still spring type in the end of March.
- rfdrv (6/5): A hot small room - We visit Kyoto on December 2015. We stayed in Kyoto Daiichi Hotel for several nights. It's a small room, but since we only bring one backpack, it did not matter. But, my mother and my sister in the other room had no sufficient room for their big baggage. And it's also hot! So it was kind of frustrating for us to choose between using the air conditioner or not. If we turned on the AC, it would be hot -the uncomfortable hot. But when we turned off the AC, it was cold. So, we turned on the AC and we opened the window to create a comfortable circumstance. The bed and the pillow is so hard, but since we were very tired after wandering around, it was OK. By the way, I heard someone snoring from the room next to ours. The best part is the bathroom. The quality of the shampoo and the soap are excellent! We also got a free ride from the hotel bus (?) from 10.30 am to 2 pm which took us from the hotel to Kyoto station, vice versa. We had to go to Kyoto station to find some shops.

We requested 2 months ahead for triple sharing but we were given a room with just enough space for a 3rd bed to be squeezed in, leaving no room to stand, let alone leave our luggages! Unlike other hotels, check-in is at 3pm and check-out, 10am!

- 240helenn (8/5): Ok - After a mix up in our planning we needed a room in Kyoto for two nights and the owner of our previous onsen booked us here. For the price we had low expectations but were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are tiny, but very clean and well planned so contained everything you need. Transport provided from Kyoto railway. Definitely recommend if you don't spend a lot of time in your room.

- MOUSEAK (6/5): Semi double room is very small for 2 paxs - bed 1.2m only - Room - very small but still has a small bath tub in our non-smoking room. Hardly aircon, so we open the window to cool the room. Bed small, no baggage area esp both of us each has 24inch baggage. There is a mini fringe, mini electric cup for boiling water. Good quality shampoo, conditioner and shower gel - Pola. Wifi is good for our iphone/ ipad even xiao mi. We stayed 3 nights. We got a quiet room at level 3. Hotel itself - smoking smell in the lobby due to open area. Level 1 with laundry area room - good for those need to wash. Washing machine auto provide washing detergent, so no need to pay for washing powder separately. Level 2 - our favourite area --- all kind of vending machines except no icecream. Ice vending is inside. Machine that has hot menu. Lots of drinks in vending machine. Staffs - pretty nice but language in English is limited. We arrange the hotel to send our baggages. Hope everything is in order since they are still in transit to our next destination. Location - take free transport is ok if you need to take any timing 10.30am-2pm (rest for drivers). No nearby convenient shop. So get all you need from kyoto station or aeon mall. We love aeon mall - Daiso, muji, uniqlo, toy'r'us and food available.
- livermagpie (10/5): Budget Hotel - A budget hotel which is quite central, and only a couple of minutes away from the nearest metro station, and around 10 minutes walk to Kyoto station. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus every few minutes to the station which is very convenient, especially if you are travelling with luggages. The hotel room was clean, had all the amenities required and the staff were very friendly also.

- ChiC1985 (6/5): Decent for a short stay - Not a bad hotel for a short stay. The room was quite small but it's not like you visit a city to spend all day in the hotel! There is no wifi in the room, only in the lobby. The staff speak English and are very friendly. The more convenient thing about this hotel is that there is a frequent shuttle bus (every 15 minutes) that runs to and from Kyoto station (3 minutes drive). I think the bus doesn't run between 10:30am and 1:30pm though, and at night, but the hotel will inform you when the bus runs.

Friendly staff; English skills vary greatly depending on staff member. They will go to great lengths to help. To get free in-room Wi-Fi, ask for it and they will give you a router to plug into the LAN cable that is in the room. Minimal amenities (no coffee or food), but there are vending machines on the 2nd floor. They also provide free loaner umbrellas, which come in very handy. Biggest drawback (other than the room being small) is the likelihood that your room will smell heavily of cigarette smoke. Fortunately, the windows open. Direction from Kyoto station: Exit the south side of the train station. There is a hotel shuttle outside McDonalds (Hachijo West Side Exit), just wait outside McDonalds and watch for a small bus with the hotel name. You can also walk 10 minutes by crossing the road at the traffic light and walk strait through the small road till the next 4-lane road (Kujo dori), turn right; hotel is half a block west.
- alphabetsoup2010 (2/5): Never going back here again - Do you like living in small, enclosed spaces with no electricity or services? You may enjoy this hotel. I was trapped here for a conference until I bailed out and booked into the Westin with Starwood points. It was awful: - Noisy - walls are paper-thin and if you're near the elevator you're screwed - Temperature control appears to have been an oversight - you're stuck with ambient temperature - Power - good luck if you need plugs to power your computer or reasonably effective internet access
- DT_Wandering_Feet (10/5): convenience-and-affordable-in-one - Stayed here for a 1-week business trip. I enjoyed walking from the hotel to the Kyoto train or bus station every morning... it's just about 5-10 minutes walk. But there's a free shuttle service to and from the hotel which is available every 15 minutes... and will take just take you about 3 minutes to get to the hotel/station. The room is clean and spacious... I like the modern style of the room. Also, this hotel is near convenient stores, supermarket and restaurants. During free time, I go to different places for sight-seeing.. especially the temples around Kyoto. You can ask the hotel receptionists for directions.. they are very friendly and reliable. I would definitely consider staying in this hotel again if given the chance.
- frankie6731 (8/5): Convenience near Kyoto Station yet at affordable price - I have stayed in a small double room for 4 nights from 12 Nov 2013 - simple, clean hotel without the luxury. What I really like is that I only need to walk out the Kyoto station building exit and the hotel shuttle bus will send me right to the hotel in just 2 minutes! The frequency is very frequent- every 15 minutes- to and from hotel/Kyoto station (check with the hotel website on the time schedule) and always on time- which I am impress with their punctuality. Direction - from Kyoto station, look for sign to get to the Hachijo West Side Exit and you will see 2 exit direction - left and right, take the escalator to the left side down to street level you will see McDonald ahead. Just wait outside McDonald and look out for a small bus with your hotel name and just hop aboard. You can also take a 8 - 10 minutes short walk to your hotel by exiting at the right side stairs, cross the road at the traffic light and walk strait through the small road till the next main road, you will see your hotel to your right. Location: Hotel in Kyoto station area is a very convenient base as getting to/from KIX airport or Osaka and also Tokyo (Shinkansen) or Maibara (I went to Toyosato at Shiga prefacture) direction and also the subway to many sight seeing stops. It also houses shopping malls and many restaurants and eateries with not expensive yet quality food for your meal. I bought bread for my breakfast and bath salt at the stores near the Hachijo West exit. The bus station just outside Kyoto station has bus to most of the must go sight in Kyoto. Remember to get your one day 500yen bus card. It is definitely worth the money. - checking in is strictly after 3pm for most hotel in Japan but you can safe keep your luggage at the front desk - room is smaller than what I expected after reading past reviews, especially for those who have larger luggage but can be manageable - bed for me is good enough for four nights of comfortable sleep - small bathroom with bathtub (similar size with other business hotel I stayed in Tokyo and Osaka, so no complain about this) and it is clean and I enjoyed my bath with bath salt as usual every night :) - wireless and computer available only at lobby, so I used my own wireless router connected to the LAN cable in room, it works fine. The only one thing I don't like is I stayed on the smoking level and the cigarette smell is strong though they provide air freshener in the room. Try to request for non-smoking room if you are non-smoker, though I think they have limited non-smoking room. Overall, I am happy to stay in this hotel for its convenience and affordability, at the same time a comfortable and safe stay.
- singinggigi (6/5): The whole hotel needs some tlc - I was having problem trying to find a hotel room in kyoto during the weekend of November 16. Daiichi was one of the few that still had a semi-double room for that Saturday. Naturally I reserved the room. This hotel is located on kujo which is with of the Kyoto station. My husband and I followed the hotel's direction to get on the hotel shuttle bus at the south side of the station. It was only a 5- minute drive and to the hotel. With that said, the location of the hotel is not as convenient as the others which are located north of the station. Most of the sightseeing activities and restaurants are located to the north of the station. We had problem trying to flag down a taxi in front of the hotel so we returned to the Kyoto station and took a taxi from there. The check-in process was smooth. I was offered the morning breakfast choices and I paid for them in advance. I was given my receipt immediately after I paid with my credit card. Very efficient. I had reserved a semi-double room. It was very small;even smaller than the double room at Toyoko inn (a no-frills) business hotel chain in Japan. The bed could barely fit the both of us. We had 1 piece of 26- inch luggage each. I could not open mine flat while the 2 of us were in the room. The hotel needs some serious TLC as there was fallen paint in the room and the hallway. Even though I had asked for a non-smoking room I still felt like the smell of smoke had been trapped in the room since the room had not been updated for so long. Despite all that, everything worked in the room. Breakfast was served at the restaurant next door. I took the Japanese breakfast set which came with rice, miso soup, salmon, natto, tofu, tea and coffee. Beggars cannot be choosers. Overall, Daiichi hotel had served it's purpose as a place to provide accommodation for the 2 of us over an extremely busy saturday in Kyoto. For one night the room was adequate. I would not recommend staying here if I could find a room north of the station.
- JFrankling (2/5): Poor choice - Old hotel with limited facilities, though the coin laundry is nice. Very small rooms. No place to put anything other than a small bag. Bath is small. My room had been a smoking room, and it stunk! The hallway smelled of smoke and mildew. The shuttle to the station is handy, but does not run between 10 am and 2:30 pm.... Did not care for the hotel at all.
- C7439WLlindas (10/5): Japan Trip booked by IACE Travel - We spent 5 lovely nights at this hotel. The staff was extremly helpful in giving us advice on which buses to take to various places we wanted to visit. There is a shuttle to and from the JR station which is nice after 10 hours of sightseeing and walking. The mattress is firm the way we like them. Coin operated laundry saved time. Very convenient location. Hotel is very quiet.
