Guest Reviews
- Tracy (10/5): -
- Marcus (7/5): The hotel was conveniently placed for my needs and comfortable, although over priced. - The hotel was conveniently placed and comfortable and the parking was free.
The staff were polite.
The restaurant menu was varied and the food well cooked. The price was very high for a hotel of this standard. I noted the room rates displayed in the lift. I had a compact double room advertised at £90 per night or £110 with breakfast. I paid £236 for the one night. I fully appreciate there was a high demand for hotel accommodation during the UKRiiF event but to more than double the normal rate for a compact double room I thought was too much, pushing it beyond any matrix measuring value for money. As for the Breakfast, I went down for Breakfast just after 9am only to be told that breakfast finished at 9. I must of misheard the receptionist on my arrival as I thought she had stated 9:30 to 9:45. I travel around the country a lot for business staying in many hotels, most hotels I stay in continue breakfast until 09:30. I was able to make use of the cereal and the coffee machine, but once again, baring in mind the amount of money charged for the room, maybe there should have been thought in extending the breakfast for an extra 30min. I wasn't the only one arriving late for breakfast as there were at least two other guests that arrived for breakfast after me.

- Eleanor (10/5): Fantastic food and clean room - We needed something close to friends we were visiting the following day and this hotel was fab location for what we needed. We had our dog was with us and they were very accommodating with him, all staff made a fuss of him, we were put in a ground floor room that was perfect for a quick exit out through reception, but far enough away to not be disturbed by the bar or function. The room was a good size, very clean, the meal in the restaurant in the evening was exceptional, and breakfast also fantastic.

- Mariyka (10/5): Excellent and comfortable stay. Definitely stay again. - Very comfortable bed, nice variety of breakfast food. Quiet. The room was on the top floor, 2nd floor, it had a sloping ceiling and even though I’m not very tall I banged my head a couple times pie of times when I had to go over to that side. I was able to avoid that side as I was on my own but if it was being occupied by 2 people, it may be problem.
- Charley (6/5): Was a pleasant stay - It’s a great location and great to get about.
- Dave Hopkins (9/5): - Staff helpful, food was good
- Cameron (8/5): -
- evier746 (10/5): lovely place to visit - just visited with my two younger sisters and we shared a meal we had pizza and fries pizza was delicious and so were the fries if we lived closer would definitely return. lovely staff, and greeted as soon as we came in

- Jan (9/5): - Food was excellent, staff delightful and room was comfortable. Easy parking and good location for exploring the area The room was on the small side and shower had a mind of its own- it was quite hazardous! We reported it and I'm sure it was dealt with
- Claire (7/5): - Staff lovely. Clean and convenient I didn't like the platic wrapped beakers in bathroom. Matresses were soft and really like the scent, which was very heavy, in the rooms. The dining area smelt very fatty (like fried food)
- Douglas (10/5): -
- David (9/5): - Location

The staff were attentive, the room was perfect for our guests and the food was very good. We opted for Menu 2 and had a good selection of food, the desserts were very tasty, and a bonus is that there was plenty of parking for our guests. Thank you.
- Julija (8/5): -

- Dennison (9/5): -
- Kathleen (9/5): Friendly staff, nice accommodation, and lovely breakfast! - Lovely hotel and restaurant. Really comfortable stay for our family of four.
- richarddG1611QV (6/5): Good but could be better - We here on the 28th Feb 2026, and I have to say it was just over average.
The staff were very attentetive but the food oh dear.
I'll start with the starters, presentation was very good, but the quality of the food was poor.
I had the lamb kofta, koftas are supposed to be served hot and sizzeling and quite juicy, what I got was reheated, warm, dry and rather hard, the taste was good but overall pretty much under what I would have expected.
The mushrooms and garlic in leek sauce, the sauce was ok, but using tinned button mushrooms is just not good enough.
The meatballs were also pretty firm and dry, not enough eggs and breadcrumbs to loosen them up.
I had the beef bourguignon i, to quote the menu, classic beef in a rich sauce of mushrooms, bacon, mushrooms, garlic, red wine and thyme.
What I got was braised beef in oxo gravey, how do I know it was oxo?
Well in the gents toilet there was an empty bucket of oxo beef granuals under a leeky pipe.
The beef was good and tender, but come on it was not what was on the menu.
The mashed potatoes had a strange lightly sour taste, very strange and there were no onions, mushrooms in the sauce, and the only red the sauce saw was still in the bottle.
The vegetables were perfect.
The pizzas were abysmal.
The steak and stilton pie was very good.
The cajun chicken, not brilliant, the black searing tasted more or less of just burnt oil.
Another point to be made is also portion control, very hap-hazzard.
The desserts were good, the brownies were excellent, the Eton Mess was good, but the jam roly poly also had a slightly funny taste to start with but after a couple of mouthfulls good.
The stickey toffee pudding was also good.
So all in all OK, but food wise definately room in certain areas for improvement.
OK, waiters and bar staff, very good indeed, and the quality of the beers was on the dot.
My Black Sheep ale was perfect.
Just one more thing.
If you are going to have an open kitchen, the last thing a guest needs to see are the chefs using their to portion out salads and veg.
Yes we all do it, ( you may have have now guessed, that I am also a chef) and a chefs hands are always clean, but guests dont really need to see that.
All in all a good night, but some of the food was a let down.
The kitchen needs to check its portion control, and also stop using oxo gravey granuals for your sauces, its not difficult to make brown stock a jus and and the correct roux.
Just a lttle bit more finesse and thoughtfulness and youre sailing.
I dont know if Corn Mill will read this, but review id meant as contructive criticism and not as a negative.

- Michal (9/5): Very good - Duży pokój. Ładny. Wielka garderoba - szafa. Czysto. Śniadanie miało być wykwintne - było zwykłe.
- Wendy (10/5): Friendly, clean hotel and brilliant value - The breakfast was great, lots of choice and very well presented Nothing
- Wayne (7/5): -
- Roseanna (7/5): - Bathroom needs updating
- David (8/5): -

- Rob (8/5): Goede kamer, restaurant viel tegen. - Gemoderniseerde kamer met goed bed. Schoon. Ruime parkeerplaats, prettige ontvangst bij receptie en in restaurant. Restaurant (diner en ontbijt) tamelijk fantasieloos. Doorbakken/doorgekookt eten.
- spencerf739 (10/5): Yorkshire pudding / work of art - Great stay , nice and clean room , everything I needed . Great food , super friendly staff , Maddy in particular was ace . Definitely recommend to others
- Andrew (9/5): - Nice and comfortable
Good value
Really friendly staff
- Zoeh0103 (7/5): Great breakfast with good options and friendly reception staff. - The reception staff were all exceptionally friendly. The small double room actually was quite spacious and had a good amount of complimentary tea, coffee and milk pods. The shower room was spacious and clean. The water pressure in the shower was good and the temperature was consistent. Breakfast was excellent The shower cubicle was quite a tight fit for the average human adult and i could hear my neighbours in their bathroom. The location is what it is, but the main reason i gave it a lower review was because their was a LOT of dog mess on the footpath outside the hotel, it was particularly bad.
- Teju (9/5): -
- Griffiths (10/5): All good - All good Nothing really all good
- Priscilla (8/5): - The breakfast was good with helpful staff. The rooms and restaurant were clean. Beds were comfortable. The small area next to the restaurant currently being refurbished would make a comfortable seating area to sit and read or enjoy a drink after dinner, rather than either going elsewhere to spend their money or bringing in their own drinks to have in their room.
- Tara (9/5): Excellent Hotel, friendly staff - The staff are so friendly, easy to book, lovely cosy room, restaurant good and food excellent (plenty of it). The window wouldn't close properly which made the noise of road worse than it should. It was windy, so there was something that kept banging/knocking keepingbis awake from 3am
- mikefE9489IN (8/5): Great choice of good value hotels. - This is a great hotel, especially for business travellers. We had to travel to Leeds to sort out things after my mother passed away. First of all, a big shout-out to Jane and Carol on reception who were so helpful when we had to extend our original stay. The compact room is what it says, don't choose this option if your tall, but it was comfy and warm and plenty of space to put your clothes away. Breakfast finished at 9am, again more suited to tradesman who have to get going but there's was always plenty left in the heated trays etc. The real gem is their restaurant, it's first class for choice and the portions are generous and really good value for money. All in all, a good choice.
- Janet (10/5): A lovely welcoming hotel - Great location. Excellent staff. Restaurant and food perfect Would have preferred a separate shower. It was difficult and slippy to get in and out
- David (8/5): -
- sheena (9/5): Excellent value for money . Will definitely stay again . - Lovely friendly staff . Beautiful clean room. On-site bar & restaurant N/a
