• Pascale (8/5): We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf. uitstekende service, gastvrijheid en geweldige ligging. - Hotel is gelegen in een drukke buurt maar toch eens op het domein was het zeer rustig. Niet veel kamers. Balinese stijl. Weinig zelfs geen volk aan het mooie groene zwembad gelegen in weelderige tropische tuin. Kortbij alles. Het personeel was zeer vriendelijk en enorm behulpzaam. We hebben verschillende massages gehad en allemaal zeer goed. Zeker naar de Ubud water palace Saraswati naast Lotus café gaan. Iets verderop (naast museum) rechts is er een smal baantje de Sweet orange Walk Trail. Aanrader om korte rustige gemakkelijke wandeling tussen de rijstvelden te doen.

From the moment we stepped in, the staff were perfect. They welcomed us warmly, went out of the way to make us comfortable, and every staff member addressed us using our names. We felt like we got personal, special attention - the royal treatment. We upgraded to a villa with its own pool, looking out on a forest with hanging vines, monkeys, and all kinds of birds. Simply loved everything about our stay, including the Balinese spa day. Highly recommend it. They arranged 2 different tours with a private AC car and personal attention from the driver. The location in Ubud is perfect - can walk to multiple attractions and cafes and high-end restaurants. When we left, multiple staff members came out to wish us goodbye and waited to wave to us as our car drove out. Really nothing about the property was bad. But traffic to any place was horrid.

But, can you imagine, every time it's even better and better... :) It's like you live in a garden in the center of Ubud... And valley, and small river... And rice fields... and monkeys sometime passing by... Honor to nature and comfort... You just feel good here... And swimming pool!!! Almost crying leaving it... "The soul of Bali in the heart of Ubud" - 100 %! Honoring tradition, but also going "with time". Location - perfect; atmosphere - amazing; rooms - charming, clean, silent, equipped with everything you need and with additional fruits, snacks, drinks (soda, coffee, tea, water...) for free! During our long stays here we tried almost all types of rooms, villas and found our favorite one (sorry, will not say the number... :))! For sure - there is the ONE (room or villa) the most perfect one for YOU! But special words I should say about the staff - last time I was here 2 years ago. I didn't believe that we will be remembered... This time we didn't do booking before, just arrived and wanted to agree about our stay after 2 days... We arrived and... The staff remembered us!!! even my name!!! That was a real shock!!! • 925carriej (10/5): Exceptional place to stay - I cannot recommend this hotel enough upon arrival to departure everything was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable and to ensure we had an excellent stay with them. They were all so caring and are all a credit to this hotel. The hotel is an oasis from the hustle and bustle outside. Breakfast was fantastic and we used their restaurant a couple of times for dinner which we would highly recommend. We also used their spa which was excellent and so relaxing. Our room which was a twin was beautiful with a lovely veranda to sit out on and relax. The attention to detail in the room was exceptional and the staff who looked after the rooms were so thoughtful and thoroughly looked after us. My friend and I throughly enjoyed our stay and even shed a little tear when we left. We will recommend to all our family and friends. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Bali now and hope to come back again very soon.

• ゆりこ (9/5): ウブドでラグジュアリーな滞在 - ウブドのメインストリート沿いにあり、王宮とモンキーフォレストの中間にあることから選びました。周りにお店がたくさんあって便利でした。 写真や説明から気づかなかったのですが、部屋があるのはヴィラで、ベッドルーム以外に洗面台のあるスペース、バスルームが広くて驚きました！ 朝食がビュッフェでなく、料理を選ぶ方式でした。 キャンセル無料の日時を過ぎた時点でカード引き落としができなかったとのことで、ホテルが直接支払いのURLを送ってきトラブりました。ホテルの決済のセキュリティーが脆弱だったのが原因だったようで、カード会社が「第三者による不正利用の可能性を検知したので取引を中断しました」としてエラーになり、Bookin.comのサイトに「今すぐ支払い」の項目を通じて支払いましたが、最初は詐欺メールを疑いました。 ヴィラが面している所が工事中で、景色がイマイチだったのは残念。 夜になると天井のほうから、動物の鳴き声なのか聞いたことのない音が何度も聞こえてきました。自然が多いウブドなので仕方がないのかもしれませんが、かなり大きな音でうるさかった。宿泊した部屋が2階で、1階ならそういう悩みはなかったのかもしれませんが。
• 68DavidR68 (8/5): More of a motel than a resort -- great for a few days in the central city. - This is a comfortable hotel with a friendly, helpful staff located in a busy tourist area. Rooms are clean, well-furnished and pleasant. The photos on the web page led me to expect a patio or deck with an expansive garden view but our room had only a small, private, slightly claustrophobic patio (see picture) and a front window looking out at a wall. It is billed as a resort but it is more of an upscale motel with a nice swimming pool and very pleasant outdoor restaurant. On one evening they set up a small stage areas for some Balinese dancers who were quite good (better than the dance show in the nearby temple). It is an easy walk to the Monkey Sanctuary and a couple of temples, but the surrounding streets are so narrow and choked with motorbikes that walking ranges from unpleasant to dangerous (typical of high-traffic areas in SE Asia cities). The hotel is off the street so it is quiet and peaceful in the room and by the pool. I booked 8 days which was far too long; I ended up hiring a taxi to drive out of Budu for hiking on two days and spending three days in Lovina, on the opposite side of the island. I recommend three nights here then move to a different hotel in a mountain or beach area away from the chaotic traffic of the central areas. While you are here don’t miss Spice, a great restaurant just across the street and a few doors to the right: the ginger blossom ice cream is divine.
• Vacationlife735 (10/5): A respite in the heart of Ubud - We spent 4 nights at Komaneka Monkey Forest. It is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Ubud walking distance to everything but a quiet respite from the chaos. Our room was quite large and the bathroom beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable. The yoga studio was beautiful as was the yoga instructor. The pool was also lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel each morning. The food and staff were lovely. Unfortunately, I ended up with Bali belly the last evening of my stay and called the front desk at 4AM asking for assistance as we were departing at 6:15AM for the airport. They said they could have a doctor come to see me but it would be faster to have the hotel driver take me a clinic which they did. He waiting for us and had us back at the hotel in an hour in good enough condition to make our trip. If we ever go back to Ubud we would stay there again.

They consistently went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Their warmth and ongoing concern for our comfort made us feel completely at home. The hotel is a peaceful retreat, surrounded by lush greenery that creates a calm and intimate atmosphere right in the heart of Ubud. Everything is immaculate and beautifully maintained, from the public areas to the smallest corners of the rooms. Speaking of rooms, they are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. If I had to find one thing to comment on, it would be the shower pressure. It’s on the gentle side—not that I was expecting “Command 450” level power (Seinfeld fans will get that). But honestly, it’s a minor detail in an otherwise wonderful experience. We also booked a private excursion through the hotel and spent the day with Ari, who was fantastic. His friendliness, deep knowledge of Balinese culture, and thoughtful attention to our comfort made the tour one of the highlights of our stay. Ari didn’t just show us places; he helped us understand them. The breakfast is simple but made with quality ingredients. The pool area, while not large, is delightful—peaceful, well-kept, and surrounded by greenery. Every detail of the property shows care and pride in its maintenance. Overall, Komaneka at Monkey Forest perfectly combines comfort, nature, and Balinese hospitality. It’s ideally located, impeccably clean, and run by people who truly love what they do. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in Ubud.

• 62cynthia (10/5): Exceptional stay! - Stepping into the Komaneka at Monkey Forest Hotel is like entering a peaceful oasis in the midst of Ubud’s hustle and bustle. The hotel is conveniently located right in the centre of Ubud, so it’s easy to walk around the city, and many attractions are just 15–20 minutes away on foot. Our room, although it didn’t have great views, was spacious, charming and very comfortable. The bathroom, with both a shower and a bathtub, was even larger. At breakfast, there was a small buffet along with a menu to order from, and the food was very good. The highlights of our stay were the exceptionally kind staff who exceeded our expectations, a deliciouos dinner with Balinese dance (extra cost), yoga lessons, afternoon tea, and a wonderful spa experience with a great massage. The pool area feels like being in a jungle. While other reviews have mentioned that there are not many sunbeds, most guests seem to spend their days sightseeing, so there was always space available, at least that was our experience.

Every single member of the team is a real credit to Komaneka – they were incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming. What stood out most was how every staff member remembered our names and greeted us warmly each time we saw them. Nothing was ever too much trouble; they genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Our suite was lovely – spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with excellent air conditioning that was a lifesaver in the Bali heat and humidity. The location is fantastic too: right in the heart of Ubud, surrounded by bars, shops, and restaurants, and only a short ten-minute walk to the famous Monkey Forest, which is a must-see. The food was lovely, we had breakfast every morning which they brought to our suite on request, we had lunch in the restaurant and it was so tasty. We honestly couldn’t fault anything. This hotel exceeded all our expectations, and we’re already planning our next trip back to Bali – we’ll definitely be staying here again!

The food is amazing as was all the staff who knew us by name, one of the benefits of only having 22 rooms. Everyone had a smile & nothing was too much trouble. This was our first visit to Ubud & this location is perfect. As you leave the hotel you step out into shops, bars & restaurants with the market less than 10 min walk. The hotel feels calm & tranquil compared to the hussle & bustle of the surrounding streets which for us was perfect. Just a point to note, there is some construction fairly central in the hotel. It did not detract from our stay but worth pointing out. We would def stay here again & would recommend.

• KRISNA_GADI (6/5): Not Bad and Just Oke - It was my first time staying at Komaneka Monkey Forest, and the place was beautiful, with a rice field view right in front of the room. The room itself was very clean and extremely comfortable,it made me just want to stay in all day. The service was also very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff were especially helpful in explaining the hotel facilities and were very friendly. However, the parking space was quite small and limited. The lighting next to the restaurant was also very dim and could use better illumination. As for the food, to be honest, it could be improved. I ordered Tom Yum, but it only came with two prawns, and the soup had an overly strong sour taste. I also ordered the seafood laksa, but there was very little seafood in it,mostly tofu instead. Hopefully, the portioning can be improved in the future. The dessert, however, was not bad.

• Lewin (9/5): Exceptional staff, perfect location. - This is a great spot and a quiet sanctuary in crowded and noises Ubud. Breakfast was decent and dinner really good. The staff were the real highlight here, so genuinely friendly and efficient. The pool is small but nice and the grounds are lovely. My only knock is that rooms advertised as facing a rice terrace are misleading- it’s just a backyard with rice facing other buildings outside the property- not true nature. Happy to recommend and would certainly return!

Nothing - location is perfect for walking most of the central part of Ubud. The grounds are lush and beautiful, and the staff is wonderful!
• shalmika (8/5): Great location, staff, menu needs tweaking & inclusiveness - Located bang in the center of Ubud amidst lush paddy fields, we felt right at home. The welcome was great, the staff ever so cordial and always warm. The ambience instills calmness, there is greenery everywhere you turn that yo forget that you just entered from a bustling street, it is well shielded from the noise yet a stones throw away from all the major ubud attractions. The rooms were generous, a beautiful view of the paddy fields where we could spot some munias trying to pick at the grains and a great balcony with our very own koi pond which excited my kid to no end. In addition, the staff had provided a crib for my child as well, no complaints there at all. The pool was well-maintained, surroundings calm again. We had opted for breakfast in the hotel and that's the only thing that was disappointing. They had hardly any options for vegetarians or vegans. It was just 2 or 3, nothing that could fill you up sufficiently for the adventure ahead. This is tedious especially when you're staying for more than two days. We ate the same thing every morning which was either fruit bowl or fried rice, even the bread had eggs so we couldn't have the avo toast which otherwise could have been a good option for vegetarians (which doesn't include egg) or vegans. I'm surprised, considering that Ubud is steeped in Veganism they had very few options for us. This is something they need to look into and become more inclusive in their menu, especially with breakfasts since most opt for it. This is a great place to stay in if you want to be at walkable distance from the monkey forest, ubud palace, the market, some great restos etc., and if you are able to deal with the brekkie concern.
• Loise555 (10/5): Yes, stay here, you wont regret it - Gracious kind hospitality, super clean, a quiet spot among Ubud’s chaos. We stayed four nights, huge patio with a view over the area. There were monkeys who entertained us near the pool. Pool was lovely, with comfortable lounge chairs, easy food and beverage service. Tea service was gratis every day@4:00pm, appetizers were included. Room had clean beautiful marble floors, good A/C, and soft sheets!
• Jennifer (10/5): A superb experience! - Komaneka was wonderful! The grounds and infinity pool were beautiful - like staying in peaceful tropical botanic gardens. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely, including the complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea. The room was excellent - beautiful, with all the facilities you'd need (e.g. chairs & table on my balcony to read outside, a lovely couch area to read inside if it was raining/too hot outside, a magnificent four-poster bed, huge bathroom with bath and large shower.) I loved the complimentary yoga class each morning at 9am, in an open-air space overlooking rice paddies. The location was great too - easy to walk to nearby attractions/shopping. I didn't want to leave! : ) Nil

• Antoni (10/5): Wonderful time in Komaneka Monkey Forest. - The staff is amazing. They welcome you with a bug smile and a welcome drink. Komaneka's rooms are big, lightning, and specially clean. Housekipping does a great job cleaning the room twice a day. Guest service also amazing. The setting of the hotel is the best in Ubud, near by Ubud Palace, Art Market and Monkey Forest, so you can go everywhere walking. The street is full of souvenirs, cafes, restaurants and money changing. To sum up, our stay was amazing and we loved everything. Spa treatments are a little bit expensive comparing it with others spa on the area. Avarage Komaneka's price is 400.000 IDR ($24) and street spa is 170.000 IDR ($10). Apart from this, the rest was amazing.

• Jade (10/5): Just a wonderful hotel with the warmest service. - This was my sixth stay at Komaneka Monkey Forest, and I will always return. It's my favourite hotel in the world. A truly special little hotel, with the kindest staff. They continue to look after us so well and I just can't say enough good things about them. There is nothing for me to write here. If something comes up the staff will fix it immediately.
• Michael (10/5): A few day stay on a long trip. - I dont think i could write enough. The staff were all extremely welcoming and always asking if everything was ok. Everyone knew our names and it was great to have that home feeling especially travelling with a less than 2yr old on such a long trip. The hotel is very well kept and you will even catch the groundskeeper sweeping up leaves each morning to keep a fresh look. You might catch the monkeys in the afternoon from the pool just make sure you have all of your things securely put away, the staff will make sure you are aware of this as monkeys dont listen. I give this hotel a top rank in my books as the staff aim to please, are very helpful, and will do everything they can to make sure you have what you need and enjoy your stay. We would definitely come here again.

This amazing gem of a resort is so conveniently located in central Ubud but walk down the driveway to be greeted by name and you step into an oasis of calm. Exceptional service, lovely suites and absolutely gorgeous gardens. This is not some large, flashy new resort and thank goodness for that. This is the real Bali and we felt privileged to call Komaneka home for our 2 week stay. Thank you to all at Komaneka at Monkey Forest, we will be back!

From the moment we arrived, Ade, the Front Office Manager, and her exceptional reception team provided 5-star service. They were always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location was perfect, close to the main road, markets and Palace. Despite its great location, we heard no traffic noise at all. Special thanks to Mang and the restaurant staff for their outstanding hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious, with so many choices that we were spoiled for options. Portions were generous—almost too much for two people—but every bite was worth it! The resort itself is breathtaking, with stunning grounds that feel like a tropical paradise. We stayed in a villa with a private splash pool, and it was simply amazing. The villa was spacious, impeccably clean, and filled with high-quality amenities. The splash pool area, with its serene jungle backdrop, was the perfect spot for relaxation. The lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere were like something out of a dream. Komaneka Monkey Forest is truly a slice of heaven. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! A huge terima kasih sekali to all the staff for making our vacation so memorable. Everyone here is welcoming, genuine - it truly feels like home when they welcome you after a long day of exploring. And location of this resort for getting out and about to know Ubud is great. Attention to detail is spot-on. The spa services are delightful! Food is excellent. There's nothing not to love about this resort. I'd stay here again if in Ubud.
• tlsgreen (10/5): Hidden Gem in the Monkey Forest - Our plane landed at 0030 and Dani was there to pick us up for our 1.5 hour drive to the resort. He was awake, happy and chatted with us about the area. When we arrived at the resort you would have thought it was the middle of the day. They brought us tea and cookies as they checked us in. Our bags were taken to our rooms and then we were lead to the room. The staff was fantastic the whole time we were there. Ade and staff ensured our every desire was met. We decided to do some things at the last minute and Ade ensured we had a competent, friendly and knowledgeable driver/guide to take us out. The food was wonderful, the Spa was beyond anything I would have asked for. I did a number of services and the staff ensured we were treated like queens. Cannot say enough good about the resort and the staff. A definite place for relaxation and close to many things.

The location of the hotel is great too - lots of delicious restaurants just across the road. The rooms are set well back off the road though so it’s nice and quiet too. I’ll be back for sure!

• Wayne (10/5): We loved our say at this Resort. - We loved our Pool/Villa room at this Resort. Our very private Villa was huge. Large Bathroom, gorgeous showers,which included a rain head and hand held shower. Our private pool was awesome, we also loved our outside spacious sitting area. Our bed was also very large, and very comfortable. It was our Anniversary, which we told the Resort about. All the Staff made our Anniversary very special for us. The Staff at the Resort were all very helpful and friendly. The gardens around the Resort are gorgeous, also the rice fields next to our Villa were lovely. We were told on arrival to ignore the monkeys, which we did so they were okay with us. The food at this Resort is amazing, always very tasty, we enjoyed our stay at this Resort very much. We unfortunately had to leave early when we checked out so the Staff thoughtfully made us up a yummy breakfast box to takeaway with us. The Resort is very close to lots of Restaurants and Cafes, and the Market is within walking distance up the road. Unfortunately the Resort is surrounded by nightclubs, as most Hotels/Resorts are in Bali. Very loud pounding music at night time. Made sure we wore ear plugs at night so it was okay.
