Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 地理位置極佳!樓下就有兩家很大的便利店,購買日用品、零食或應急都非常方便。
- Brian (2/5): - Shower was hot. Dirty , outdated smelled bad but hot. Should show realistic photos when advertising.
- Zar (4/5): - Location is good but the room is very dirty and unhygienic.
- Natjaphak (4/5): - It stank!
- John (2/5): - There is a Brothel in the same floor as this hotel. Stay away!
- Charlene (6/5): - Pros: easy self check-in, air conditioning, wifi, and bar fridge
Cons: shower doesn't drain (have to use plunger), damp towels, little to no ventilation, air conditioner points straight at your face in bed
- Chong (6/5): - The room is very small, no towels provided, very simple room just for sleep is ok.
- Chan Pak (10/5): - very conveniently located. Air con is good, wifi is stable. always stay here when in HK
- Herbert (8/5): - Great location in Causeway Bay, beside Lee Garden Mall, and close to Sogo and Times Square.
The room is a little small and the bathroom tiny, but for the price we paid it was well worth it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Im happy with my stay. Originally, planned to stay for 1 night, then I extend one more week. Super great location and i love the cookies they treat the guests. Thank you!
- Tsjy Jing (4/5): - You pay what you get , but the photos on the web ,
They Made it long time ago ,the shower is not so clean !under the bed is very dirty .
My advice think twice before you booking this hotel !
- Ming Ta (8/5): - Fire doors makes so much noise at night time. It was heavy and difficult to open too.
- Chunghang (4/5): - It seems that this used to be an hourly rental ‘love motel’ type establishment that has been rehabilitated as a regular hotel. However, the set up of the rooms still retains some of its former characters: the self-check-in process provides you with privacy as the proprietor simply leave you a sealed envelope on the front counter with your 6-digit key code. The room has an extremely small combined shower/sink/toilet area of about 5ft by 5ft, and the space between the bed and the shower door is less than 1 foot. Instead of toilet paper, packets of tissues as individual sheet are provided. There is also not closet, only a few hooks on the wall and a few hangers. Although the management of the facility runs an honest business, the area surrounding the hotel is still actively engaged in some seedy business. So it may not be recommendable for female guests who are traveling alone. Now the good part: very economical, the TV in the room works. The bed is soft. You are sheltered from the elements. There is a shared-use microwave on site. The building is located adjacent to the prime shopping area of the city, with limitless choices of restaurants of all price range. This is a good option for back-packers looking for the cheapest option for a 1 or 2-day stay. Longer stay would start to become stressful due to the very small size rooms.
- Gregory J (10/5): Location - Single traveler. Double bed with good room for a suitcase on the floor. Clean condition. Plenty of hot water. Great location in Causeway Bay. Right amongst it! Great service when checking in. Check-in details waiting for me on arrival.
- Christian (8/5): - I'm not in any way a picky person, I've stayed in hostels when I travel solo. I love HK, I've been there about a dozen times. You get what you pay for, the room is tiny but the amenities are provided. If you can live in a a shady environment then you probably can stay here... You're welcome.
- Nga Lai (8/5): - Locations is really good.Owner Dorothy reply very fast. Only my room is the smallest one, They got full house, when I book it, that,s is the only left If I go back next time, I
need to made sure get the bigger room, This small room if for A short time and with A small suitcase is ok, not for 22days. But over all, this property is need, so far so good.
- Kenny (8/5): I will give four stars - The room and services are great
- Ellie (4/5): - The location of this property is fantastic - so many great restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance and really close to a train station. I travelled with my partner and felt unsafe during our stay - as previous reviews state room codes are left on the front desk in an envelope for anyone to open. On the same floor there are many brothels and men walking around the corridors. I stayed here as we left it too late to book anything else but if I was a solo female traveller I would absolutely have moved to other accommodation. Cleanliness is not good in the rooms - the bedding seemed to be clean but this was the only cleaning we found to have been done. The bathroom was dirty and had definitely not been cleaned properly. Dorothy was a lovely woman who allowed us to check in early after a long flight. The cleaning staff were also friendly however me feeling so unsafe and the poor hygiene standards mean I would not stay here again.
- ricky (10/5): - Everything is so close
- scott (10/5): Small but great location - Simple, cleam, small but enjoyable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, very close to MTR. 2 big convenient stores right downstairs, many shops and there is a street located 2 blocks away great for shopping for souvenirs.
- Libby (6/5): - Room is small and shower facilities is poor
- Ian (10/5): - In Causeway Bay, but just the right distance from the very busy Hennessy Road for you to remain isolated from the chaos!
The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean with all you need in it.
The owner Dorothy is very informative and kind.
Highly recommended to all Hong Kong visitors.

- Alexander (10/5): - The room was cute and I liked the cleaning staff. The owner spoke perfect English and went out of her way to introduce herself. She offered me a bunch of good restaurant recommendations and sites to see the room was cute and the shower worked well.
- Kelvin (8/5): - The hotel was quite difficult to locate as it is hidden in the building. The toilet was small and the toilet bowl could be choked easily.Overall,it was value for money.
- Danila (8/5): - A good honest place. Best value for its price. Also some hookers on the same floor, if you are looking for fun.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 性價比高! 交通方便! 自在入住也很方便. 謝謝!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome! Dorothy went out of her way and helped us! Room was clean and tidy. Highly recommended

- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had a wonderful and comfortable stay at this guest house. The location was perfect, with many shops and good restaurants nearby. It was convenient to explore the area and find everything I needed. The room was cozy.
- Keir (4/5): - Directions to the property where not good probably poor translation to English. Room was tiny with no window and bathroom was just too small for the average tourist
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, the comfort was top-notch, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice - I recently stayed at 9 Boutique and I must say that the location was absolutely perfect. It was conveniently situated near several popular attractions and all public transportation, making it so easy to explore the city. Self Check-in process was efficient, allowing me to quickly settle into my room without any hassle. Thanks for the hospitality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I couldn't be more pleased with its location and easy self check-in process. The hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of the city, incredibly convenient to explore the city. Self check-in process was a breeze. The hotel provided clear instructions, it was great to have the flexibility to check-in at my own convenience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - small hotel with an unbeatable location for exploring the city. The convenience of being in such a prime spot allowed me to easily discover all the hidden gems the city has to offer. Not only that, but the bed in the hotel was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful and rejuvenating stay. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a cozy and convenient place to stay while exploring the city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I appreciate the affordable price and convenient location of the hotel. The staff was kind enough to provide us with the room code and information about the location ahead of time, making communication seamless.
- Dorothy Charline (8/5): Good - Good value for money. The amenities available and cleanliness level have improved from what's described in the other (older) posted here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Definitely enjoy my stay there! The location is also good if you eant to roam around Hong Kong.
- Kim Lian (4/5): - room is small and toilet is very small, toilet and shower in the same place, no room to move, toilet has smell from the old piping.
- Suzanne (4/5): - N/A
- Ian (10/5): - It was a perfect location, very comfortable and quiet, close to the MTR system so only took 45 minutes from airport. The owner Dorothy is a sweetheart, very helpful. Would recommend to all and would use again when I return
- Winnie (4/5): - I like to stay in Causeway Bay. The location is perfect. Be honest the condition of the room and property, probably a bit low for me. However, I’m happy I had my own washroom and shower.
- nica lovelyn (10/5): - Although we can’t use the TV due to unknown reason, but wifi is good and the one who assisted us via WhatsApp is always available to respond. Indeed a good experience.
- Jingcheng (6/5): - Room is too small. No daylight during the day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good! - Good location! 2 mins to MTR.
- LUNG YU (6/5): - Room smells & jumbo size cockroach Good convenient location but not for person who like cleanliness and afraid insects. Can’t sleep all night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): next time i come again - nice! can sleep good in boutique...next time i come again! Very nice location. Airport bus just few mins away! Mtr is a stone throw!
- Ruku (10/5): Good and responsive - Great stay in Causeway Bay! The room was just what I needed for myself. The bed was very comfyabd amenities included like shower gel and hairdryer! The location is perfect, very close to shops like 7/11 and a couple minutes to the MTR. Clear instructions to find thecplace also! I would definitely recommend this place to stay whilst visiting HK.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good - Self check in was easy! Thank you for the comfortable stay. Best sleep I had in a very lome while.
- Hui-Yi Jacqueline (2/5): The manager is - The cleaning staff is very good but due to the room is super tiny much less then the description, only 4 square meters, so the staff can’t clean some place as the photo
The shower room the water always blocked , u can’t even take a super quick shower
- Chan Pak (10/5): - Thank you so much for my stay. 性價比還不錯, 房間比較小巧, 但蠻乾淨的. 提供了很多國際插座 和usb這點非常 棒. 酒店有沐浴露供應. 洗髮水要自備.
- Ruku (8/5): Close to everything - Great price great location. Owner was friendly and responsive. Small room but quite clean.
- Jennilyn (4/5): - It was nearly impossible to find with no signs outside. We found a bra and a couple pair of panties under the bed. There were trash bags piled up outside in the hall way. The shower wouldn't drain. We finally poured hot water and used the plunger (that was already in the room) and then the shower would drain in an hour or so. It's not in a good location either.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Ideal - Freat place to stay for a couple of nights. Small, but comfortable. Great location with many restaurants around. 10/10
- Janet (10/5): - Basics.Low price place for sleep only as room is small & reasonably clean, compensated by price.Convenient area.Due for renovation as per owner.Owner very friendly.
- Janet (10/5): - Great for price.Dorothy very friendly & renovation in her plan.
Easy transports & eats.
Room small but reflects in price. If not fussy, bed very comfortable and Dorothy very pleasant & helpful.
- Nicolas (4/5): - Great location, cleanliness should be improved
- Chan Pak (10/5): - Definitely a great value for money. The accomodation is very central. This little room was a fabulous place for us has everything we needed. We were arriving at mid night, self check in was perfect and easy for us.
- Perumala (6/5): Poor show - It was a leisure trip. I don't mind staying in a small congested room but it is badly maintained. There was no toilet roll but tissue paper was available. There is no signboard outside for visitors to locate the hotel (lodge) and no drinking water. I was advised to buy from outside. No receptionist was seen at any time except two who cleaned once during the four day stay. On the whole it was bad and probably the management wants to avoid taxes and get the maximum benefit by offering poor services.
- Chan Pak (10/5): - The hotel sent us direction and room number prior to the check in. Very easy to find, right next to Lee Garden One. The hotel was in right in the shopping and dinng mecca. I'm am very happy with the location. There is a pubic swimming pool, 8 mins walk away, so I can do my swimming routine easily. The very famous Victoria park is also about 8 mins walk away. There are 2 convenience stores downstairs. Times Saquare is just across the street. The room is compact but everything I needed is a nice bed, nice shower and high speed internet. I recommend!
- Chan Pak (10/5): - Basically, this is a self check in hotel. I whatsppp to the hotel number provided on the confirmatiion and get all the very detailed information to check in. Even the hotel is small, the internet speed is very good and Netflix is available on the TV. Generally, clean and comoratble bed. Air condition is very quiet too. Quick check in and quick self check out.
- Jovylene (8/5): - good
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No slippers, the room was tiny
- Sunil (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel in business district with good restaurants nearby. Good value for money.
- Geir (10/5): - Location.was great as you can find almost anything downstairs. It is small but sufficient. Shower and bathroom inside with good A/C. It is central location, is also good since close to MTR, trams and shopping.
- James (10/5): - Definitely a great value for the money. Super close to the Causeway Bay MTR line and a convenient place to explore the city. Room was smaller then expected but fine when you all need to do is sleep and shower.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad experience - The the furniture is not okay. The toilet is totally unacceptable. The hair dryer is missing the cover so my hair was stuck inside the dryer.
- Sergiy (10/5): - Awesome place with awesome location. The room is small, but the mattress are wide and long enough to fit 1.85 man. Room with quiet new air condition is clean and the corridor/hall is cool and cozy. Room location is brilliant. Near to Victoria Park, public transportation and other facilities. Wifi is good!
- David (8/5): Small but cosy room in well located area - The room was small and compact but cosy. Nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The towels and pillow cases were a bit tatty with holes in them but the room was generally clean and tidy. I would stay there again.
- Eunice (8/5): - Great clean little place. The room is great for single traveller or a couple. Fairly easy to find. It is only a short walk from the Causeway Bay station. There are lots of small restaurants close by and good shopping everywhere. The bathroom is bigger than what you would generally find in Hong Kong. I met Dorothy on the day I was leavibg and she was very polite and helpful as well.
- Eric (8/5): - Location was great as you can find almost anything downstairs. Transportation is easy as well as you can get anywhere within the city. Would recommend the others to stay!
- Isti (10/5): - 謝謝款待!Located just near to Times Square. this small hotel is clean, convenience and reasonably priced! I will come back! Thank you Dorothy and Rela for guiding me throughout my stay!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no staff at the counter. Just a piece of paper with room password. The room was really small. Is like 2 steps to the toilet. 2 steps to the sink and 2 steps to the main door. Tv not working at all. All the furnitures need an upgrades. Amenties was very basic. Bath towels was worn out. Door lock wasn't safe. The only good thing is the aircon is working well. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fast, easy hotel. This hotel is small, but has its own style, could not complain more. I stayed in a room with clean sheets, comfy bed, good WiFi and air- condition. Location is the thing you will love this hotel!
- farrell (2/5): - Not a 3 star property.
Expedia seems not visit this property at all. It's misleading to future visitors and I demand for a refund.
The reviews have been saying badly about this place but Expedia did not take appropriate action at all.
The pictures shown in your website look great but the actual place is a dump. It gives us a free sample package for shower and no soap for washing face or hands. No remote given for little TV. No light coming in from the window when it's not covered; like living in a closet. There was no turning room once the suitcases were placed in the room with the bed which was next to the 3 walls. No mention of steps in & out of the apartment building before landing to the very tiny elevator. No receptionist; more like a self serve fast food set up. Like many viewers said, total disappointment, I did not check out the reviews first because I've been with Expedia & trusted its rating, until now!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very very good location and bed set is comfortable. The area is really central. I think it is a nice place and I had a warm stay! Thank you!
- J (2/5): Minimum hotel in poor condition - Never saw a single hotel employee. Other hotels in same building had no idea where 9 Boutique was. Helped relocate other people staying at this property. Great location; otherwise it was very similar to a hole I stay at in TST for 1/3 the price.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room is dirty, the linen looks used and is not clean crumpled, looking used from the last guest, no hot water for shower. Overall I would not recommend it.
- alfredng (4/5): - I won't necessary call this place a hotel, it's an apartment that's partitioned into several units. There isn't hotel staffs and guests were given passwords to have entry to their rooms. There are several brothels at the same level which i wasn't really bothered but for the price that they charge, we can book a legit hotel. However the location is good, walking distance to causeway bay station and surrounded by shopping malls and restaurant. Do try the Michelin grade teochew restaurant at level 1, really worth it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room is small and toilet has no space for movement.
Room condition is not good.
- Lick Wai (4/5): - No amenities provided, such as cups, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy and quick self check in hotel. Located in the hub of transporations. Everything is convenient accessible with various dinning choices (local and western styles). I can easily nevigate by subway and tram.
The room itself is tidy and clean. Good for the budget and I met the very friendly housekeeper, she and her husband gave me very good advice in travelling in the town.
- Micky (4/5): - Dont' be fooled - This is NOT a hotel but a room on the 5th floor or a block of apartments. On the same floor there is a brothel. Yes a brothel
There was NO 24 hour concierge only a telephone which did not work
The room was dirty and dusty, the shower unit was broken, the lift either worked or didn't, there was mould in the bathroom. I tried 3 times to get the towels changed. On the plus side there was no plus. This place could do with a huge makeover a lick of paint and a clean
The area is up and coming with lots of top class shopping metres away
Close to local busse and the MTR
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good Place for Tired Travelers - Great location near shopping & transportation.
- Jamie (2/5): - way to small shower over toilet was terrible shower head didn't work properly bed was very uncomfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location room little small but I will like to come again better provide bath mat thx
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the room is too small....................................
- Yani (2/5): - Run for your life!!! I didn’t stay in that hotel for 5 mins. As soon as we saw the room, we took off and booked in another hotel. There is no livable space and room is suffoccating. Deceiving photos. Very difficult to locate that we missed our afternoon tour because we spent a lot of time locating this poor hotel. Shame on you Expedia for listing this hotel. To sum it all up, waste of money, waste of time and waste of energy!
- Dott (8/5): - Great location in Causeway Bay, 5 min walk from the subway station and access to tons of stores and restaurants. A bit small for two people, especially if you’re used to American space requirements. In an older building, and in a residential unit that has since been divvied up and converted to rentals, so bathroom drainage is not the best and you’ll have to get creative in working around this. Otherwise, it works for those who don’t get bothered with minor inconveniences, especially for the price offered.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The first room I was given had the base boards around the bathroom falling apart. The room was musty and there seemed to be mold in the room. I had to stay in that room for one night before I could be given another room. Also, expect to do your own check-in and check-out here. I had to call to get problems fixed. Additionally, even though the name of this place says hotel, expect motel quality.
- suzy (2/5): Disgusting. No shower. Couldn’t shut my door. I in - Not safe. Brothel outside my door. Note left (for anyone to read with my door code on it. Filthy. How they can say it’s a 3 star hotel is a joke. This the second review I have sent you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and Cosy little Hotel - When I was booking, in my mind? this hotel is only very affordable and nothing classical or chic, I was pleasantly surprised upon self- checking my room.
The picture is very matching with the reality. Only the conditions of the room is a bit worn out, but I can tell some repaint of the walls has been done.
The bedsheets is white and clean. Towels smell right after professional laundry.
Imagine yourself in a accommodation of a cruise ship and you will get the picture of how the room basically.
I have stayed in many same price hotel or hostel and this one is definitely worth coming back.
Right, they provided individual packing, all in one shower gel and shampoo. Quality not bed. Slippers also provided.
I’m planning to rebook again for another 3 nights in October.
Reminder, pls bring your adapters, they don’t provide international sockets. WiFi is speedy and unlimited.
- Romeo (4/5): - Location is very nice and quiet place, to bad that room was not been cleaned and pictures on the site and in reality are absolutely different... If owner would invest some money and colour the walls in the room and change broken tiles in bathroom place would look much better...and of course to have clean towels every day.Watch out because there are not clean towels over weekend
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Worst hotel decision I've ever made. Please avoid.
- Pietro (2/5): educated management with very bad attitude - I was slightly disappointed by the attitude of the management that I contacted by phone upon finding that the room seemed to have no window, while in fact tiny windows exist in the toiled and in the room opening on an internal court with no light and one of them was covered with a piece of cardboard.
Later I received an apology hand written letter in my room that cleared the issue and somehow restored my opinion of the management. However in two days I only managed once to get some lukewarm water for some minutes after running for a lengthy while the cold, supposed to be hot, water. then and always only cold water.
I reported the matter in person and by messaging receiving apologetic nice words and when I sent again a note upon leaving I was invited to stay 20 minutes longer to meet in person the manager and find a proper solution for my claim. I spent nearly one hour, but nobody appeared and I was only offered a late checkout, which would waste my time and be no reasonable compensation for having been unable to even take a shower in two days.
I simply asked the address of a decent public shower. I spent extra time to wait upon request of the manager. I got no hot water, not any compensation and no address of a public shower where to wash myself.
I have no problem wit the fact that problems happen be it misunderstanding on "room with windows" or long standing hot water failure. I have problem with bad management.
I am actively seeking compensation from this hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Old, cleanliness and no hot water from bathroom for whole stay.
- Carolyla (8/5): - Very good location, clean, perfect for independant young travellers (not families) looking for something simple and without fuss. Can chill at entrance if you get to meet some friendly neighbours, quick showers recommended for hot water lovers (limited).
