- Alex (9/5): Very strategically located for shops in Summertown and a bit more quiet when wanting to explore the city center. - The hotel is a former Oxford don’s villa, dating to the 1870 or so, centrally located in north Oxford. It’s run by Costa who is often around and very laid back. He’s super approachable, usually responding to messages within seconds. We stayed in a room on the second floor that hide a nice view onto other villas. The room was adequate, coffee and a kettle provided, and the bathroom is clean and suitable. Shower is a bit petite but the water pressure is lovely. Slept like babies. The room had slanting ceilings and that may not work for everyone. I thought it was quite cosy, but there could be a risk of hitting your head. The tv is not exactly the latest model.
- MARY (6/5): A comfortable place, good for a short break, but needs more catering options. - In a quiet suburban area about 20 minutes walk from the centre. Very near the Cherwell Boathouse, a very nice restaurant on the river. Handy for events in the area. An excellent shower. There was no breakfast which for us was a negative feature. The immediate area doesn't have many cafes - the nearest was 10-minutes walk away which didn't suit us.
There was a bit of noise from overhead footfall.
- Merle22 (8/5): - Sehr gute Lage. Das Stadtzentrum und der Universitätspark sind gut fußläufig zu erreichen. Costa hat mir eine vorzeitige Anreise ermöglicht. Der Check Inn war gut organisiert.
- gillian (8/5): Lovely location and room - Location was excellent for our stay, a lovely old Don's house converted and refurbished really well, spacious and comfortable rooms, nicely decorated. Very clean. perhaps a small table in the ensuite to put things on? There is no breakfast on offer currently, but plenty of good cafes in walking distance

- Margaret (6/5): Great location and very clean but you pay a premium for a basic room - Very good location - easy to walk 15 minutes into town. The property was very clean. This is like a b&b and £160 for a twin room felt overpriced. I’d have liked some hooks in the bathroom or somewhere to put my clothes and really a lock on the bathroom door. The bathroom is rather snug with the loo right up against some boxing. Designated parking would help as I arrived last and there was no obvious space left and I wasn’t sure where to park.

- Lisa (10/5): Clean, cosy and convenient - Perfect location for attending our work Christmas meal, very clean throughout and super comfortable beds with nice quality bedding. Easy self check in and check out.
- Lucia (10/5): Senza alcun problema. - Gentilezza e disponibilità del personale, camere ampie e pulite.
- MARY (8/5): Very good - Very good location in North Oxford with good transport networks into the centre. Comfortable and well kept. My room could have done with a lick of paint.
- Pamanvir (6/5): -
- Aileen (6/5): It was fine - Once I met the owner he was helpful The hotel is unmanned. There was no one to welcome me, and once he did arrive there was no explanation for why. The code at the door was incorrect and the check-in details were lacking.
- Vicky (8/5): A great place to stay, would stay again - Great location, very clean, most of the amenities you could need. Very easy to check in and helpful host

Room 23 is a bit like a prison cell ( not that I’ve ever been in one) it’s very compact to be kind ! See above

- Janet (10/5): Great stay! - Very clean and comfortable. N/a
- Xenia Maria (8/5): -
- Ankita (5/5): Rest was fine, might select the better room next time! - Good location and accessible staff! Room was too small !
- Helen (6/5): - We didn’t feel the photos reflected the true condition of the property. It was very tired and very basic. The room we were in was very small, the bathroom was small as was the shower. There was a kettle and some coffee and milk sachets but nothing else, no water for drinking. Clean towels were provided and the owner friendly and helpful but overall we were disappointed with the accommodation. The parking was charged at £10.00 per night but it was incredibly cramped and again we are not sure it warranted the cost.
- Kazuhiko (4/5): - 基本的なサプライが、特にスタッフが常駐していないホテルでは、非常に不完全。
- Tracy (10/5): - Comfy beds in the double twin room, clean tho older place, easy 25 minute walk to food and stores. Cool stained glass windows!
- Reid Artist (10/5): - Parking very reasonable. Great location, very comfortable and clean
- Inge (8/5): -
- Gillian (9/5): Lovely clean hotel - Very clean property. Lovely decor everything you need - great location. Super pre arrival info. Highly recommended x Lack of lift but no problem with that
- Wayne (10/5): - Very well updated and comfortable room.
- Jelena (9/5): -
- Jenna (10/5): - This was a great place to stay. The room was simple but clean and had everything I needed for my two night stay. There is no AC, but it was perfect with the windows open during the day. It's a little bit of a walk from the main area that most people would want to explore, but the bus comes right outside, so it's easy! I'd stay here again :)
- Clarissa (7/5): Very pleasant - no breakfast available I wish i had known beforehand that the property was unattended (I was alone)
- Nidhi (9/5): All in all the place had an extra charm coz of the people that run the Hotel. :) - I loved the old charm of the Hotel. The reception/lobby area was welcoming and spacious and a great place to meet up with family/friends especially early mornings.
Mr. Costa was just brilliant. He was responsive via email all along from the time I made my booking online, to responding to all my last minute requests over text, to even being present when I checked in early morning way before Check in time. He was kind and considerate to keep my bags before and after check in/out as well as place them in my room before I arrived back. he constantly made sure we were well taken care of and was an absolute pleasure to converse with.
A small but well appreciated addition in the room was the table fan. Yes Oxford is cool even in the Summer, but some extra circulation in the room is always very well appreciated. If there's 2 things I could change it would be:
- An elevator (although I understand its a Heritage property) but an olden style vertical lift would've been convenient considering I was on my last leg of my 3 week holiday in Europe.
- The size of the shower cubicle could've been a wee bit bigger.
- Anu (8/5): - Simple and clean. Lovely. Good location.
- Adrian (9/5): - Clean and comfy. Plenty of power sockets.
- Elma (10/5): Heerlijk verblijf, upgrade naar grotere kamer was fantastisch. Met de bus een paar haltes of gewoon lopend ben je zo in - Locatie en de beheerder was heel vriendelijk Niks
- Aline (8/5): Very good -
- Janet (10/5): - Easy access to city. Parking. Clean room, comfy clean beds and clean bathroom.
- Cleve (10/5): Great stay - It's in a great location- not too far away from the centre but far enough you don't get many students/foot traffic.
Staff were very accommodating and friendly, facilities were clean and all reasonably priced. Just a really good stay in Oxford. No breakfast but the staff knew of some great places to get food within a 10min walk so not really a negative.
- Helen (6/5): Nice owner and area. Expensive for the facilities - Good location. Lovely old house.
Owner was very helpful It wasn’t that clean, tired, mismatching furniture and we were is a twin room. Bed not that comfy.
Plug for kettle was a bit ‘iffy’
A bottle of water and biscuits would have been a nice touch.
- Laurentiu (5/5): Passable -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Host Costa was very welcoming and helpful with basic orienting to room location and the property. He had a very kind manner and expressed authentic concern when I shared with him the nature of my stay was to help a family member.
- Aaron (10/5): - 100 Banbury is quiet, convenient, and walkable to Oxford and the local cafes. The owner is approachable and engaged. Not fancy per se. Rather a good deal for clean and convenient lodging. I’ll be back.
- Erik (7/5): Guest house in walking distance to Oxford - Clean room. Parking outside (cost 10GBP per night). Walking distance (20min) to central Oxford. Supereasy check-in, also after hours. A bit of traffic noise from the main street right outside. Good value for money for Oxford. Only accomodation, no staff available outside of cleaning times, no food service, although we could se that they had previously offered breakfast service.
Beds are a bit hard.
- Barbara (6/5): Pleasant -
- Stephen (9/5): Clean, pleasant, convenient, friendly. Perfect for what I needed. -
- STEPHEN JEREMY (2/5): - Grubby
- Inge (7/5): Good - No breakfast
- Joseph (8/5): - Awesome! Have to be very quiet at night though.
- Makoto (8/5): - Good location to walk around the city center and the university area
- Leanne (10/5): - This was a great place for my husband and I to regroup from staying on campus before heading out on our next leg of travel. There’s no staff, which worked out well for us since we weren’t looking for any support or service. The room was quiet. We didn’t hear anyone else in the building during our short overnight stay. We stayed in room 20, which has a large bathroom with a roomie walk in shower (we noticed a sign for guest toilets pointing toward the basement when we came in, but we had no need for those). It was quite comfortable!
- Mrinalini (10/5): Clean and great value! - We’ve stayed here a number of times and we choose it because it offers great value for a clean and nicely decorated room. The rooms are spacious and airy and there’s parking available on the property. We like that’s it’s a little away from the centre of the city in a peaceful North Oxford. Always happy to stay here!
- Julio (4/5): - Cama muito ruim. Sem elevador.
- Anthony (8/5): Good - N/a It could with painting and carpet ipgrading
- Christine (9/5): Lovely stay- thank you! -
- Kenneth (10/5): Perfect in every way. - No breakfast provided but location perfect, in perhaps the best part of Oxford. Sensible walking distance from the city centre and with buses for those who are not so keen on exercise. Further north, just a bit, is Sommertown which has some excellent shops and restaurants. Nothing.
- Torry (10/5): - Cozy!
- Yujia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (8/5): Quick visit to Oxford - Location - ease of access etc The checkout was earlier than expected at 10 am
- Michael (5/5): Comfortable room but disappointing experience with staff - Very comfortable bed and nice en suite bathroom in a large and beautiful house. The location is a little out of the centre of Oxford though is perfectly walkable and there is a bus stop very close by if you don't wish to walk. Whilst the room itself was fine, the feeling of the communal spaces is rather 'clinical', almost like it was once an old people's home. The room given did not match the picture of the room shown when booking, which was disappointing. The room looked out onto an unsightly shed roof and the main road, which was very noisy. Having made the booking, I was then bombarded by messages saying that I had to complete some kind of bank approval for the payment. They sent an absurd number of messages through booking.com and then even sent me a WhatsApp message to the same effect, even though I had not consented to be contacted in this manner, particularly given that booking.com is clear about avoiding communications outside of the site. This was extremely displeasing. This was also virtually the only connection I had to any staff; there were no staff at the property at all, from what I could tell.
- Subhadra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jon (10/5): Great little weekend stay, look forward to returning! - Comfortable, cleanliness, well maintained, easy to get into the city centre, great communication beforehand One of the single bedrooms could do with a new mattress (dip in middle & soft)
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Inexpensive no frills Oxford accommodation. Manager very responsive and accommodating. Good location with frequent buses to centre of Oxford (though easy for most to walk) and direct buses to train station. Clean rooms, kettle with tea and coffee. Good shower. No regrets. Would stay there again.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): - Communication was clear and helpful. The building itself is very charming and packed with character. Includes a scenic walk to the university.
- Philip (7/5): Oxford stay - Located close to Oxford centre. No drawers for clothes. No safe. Charge for parking was a bit expensive since my car was covered in bird poo when I left.
- Fran (10/5): Good stay! Would recommend and come again. - Costa, the manager, was excellent. The hotel is very cozy. There is no elevator…so good health is required for 3rd floor rooms. Great location for the University. Reasonably walkable.
- Alicia (8/5): Clean, comfortable, and affordable - I had a small but very clean and reasonably comfortable room, and enjoyed walking to and around the property, central Oxford, and Summertown.
I didn’t see another person the whole time I was there which was ok but a bit lonely.
- Stepan (10/5): Exceptional -
- May (9/5): Cosy and clean - The property was lovely, just a 20-25 minute walk from the city center. The room was quite small but very cosy. the bathroom was clean and comfortable. The property was clean and quiet; checking in and out was easy. We stayed for the weekend and we were happy with our stay! Perhaps the room was a bit cramped with our bags, but it was sufficient.
- Alex (6/5): Would have preferred a budget hotel - For the location, the price was OK, but not when factoring in everything else. The rooms were quite small relative to the price, and the bathroom wasn't quite clean. The heating was turned up to maximum with no obvious thermostat. However, what was most odd was the entirely no-contact check-in, so we had no one to ask for assistance or to welcome us to the hotel. Though we occasionally heard other guests the whole place seemed abandoned. Google rates it a four-star hotel, but I didn't see any of the facilities I would expect from a four star hotel based on the AA guidance.
- Catherine (9/5): Clean, convenient, comfortable overnight - Easy to book, codes to enter, parking, comfortable bed Nothing
- Hannah (8/5): Ver - Location good. Sadly no breakfast. Grab and go breakfast.
- Vegard (10/5): Enjoyed the stay - Good service, convenient location and a warm room during a cold winter fay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good but needs improvement. - Guests must arrive after 1600h and leave by 1000h. There are no staff on the premises during these times. No food is provided, not even biscuits, although tea and coffee facilities are provided in the room. No soap or toiletries are provided. Apart from a hot towel rail in the bathroom area there was no heating in the room; there was what appeared to be the control for heating and/or ventilation, but nothing to indicate how to use it. In fact it appeared to be inoperative anyway and the room therefore remained very cold. A wide gap below the door meant that whenever the landing light came on the whole room was lit up. No safety information was provided, e.g. a notce on how to evacuate the building in the event of the fire alarm going off (assuming there is one).
- Read (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Camila (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): - Owner was there waiting for me when I arrived. Easy walk to center of Oxford.
- Erica (10/5): Great value and high quality - Lovely, clean, comfortable room with a modern bathroom in a great location. I loved it. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Excellent value for money, considering this is north Oxford. Thanks
- Franz (9/5): Superb -
- WING KAM WINNIE (10/5): - Safe quiet location nearby public bus to city centre. Clean neat spacious room with comfy mattress / pillows plus heating and hot shower. If shower cab is a bit bigger, it will be prefect.
- Sylvia (6/5): see above (incidentally, I am Bob; my wife, Sylvia, did the booking for me) - Everything else was OK, but it was frustrating that there was no lift, as I had difficulty getting up and down stairs.
- Jeanette (10/5): - Lovely comfy stay. Very clean.
Thank you
- Novin (9/5): Great location and functional space. - Stylish accommodation with helpful staff and comfortable access to the city center via public transport. Nice and green backyard and room service. The ventilation in the room was not the best. The room was getting stuffy after every shower even after closing the bathroom door. But overall nothing major.
- Supriya (5/5): Good enough IF you don't need to store bags - decent, clean room
great location no facility to store bags before check-in or after check-out
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
