Megan (10/5): - Had a free weekend with the girlies during our month-long study abroad trip, and we could not have made a better choice than Tiki Villas!! The hotel staff, the view, the pool and spa services—absolutely no complaints from any of us. From the get go, we were treated so kindly; Nancy upgraded our hotel room when we arrived so we’d have more space, and the room was lovely. We had an indoor AND outdoor shower, and a balcony with a view of the ocean. It’s genuinely the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. The restaurant staff were also so kind and patient considering we’re a group of girls who are fairly new to speaking Spanish, and they always met us halfway (or more) with communication! The food and drinks were always amazing. They gave me a bag of dry rice when my phone got soaked at Parque Nacional Marino Ballena, and I was so grateful. They went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and did not need anything. I definitely hope to return one day and stay for much longer. Two days was not enough. Tiki Villas has definitely been solidified as one of my best experiences in Costa Rica, and I genuinely don’t know how anywhere else I go will be able to top this place!
Metuschelah (8/5): - Great location, beach near by and good for exercise. The surrounding is beautiful with lots of trees and animal sound. The Room are ok but need a little TLC, a little update which I heard they will be doing soon.

Place in ceiling where there has been a leak needs to be addressed due to what appears to be mold, but overall this was a wonderful restorative stay and we hope to return!
lisa (2/5): - This is not a top ranked hotel. In fact it was one of the worst we ever stayed at On the positive side the grounds and the lobby are beautiful. We were so excited when we arrived. However that was before we saw the room and interacted with the staff. The bathroom literally had black mold in the walk and peeling paint on the ceiling. There was also mold on the curtains in the bedroom. There was no room near the sink to put personal items and the shelves that were supposed to to be on the wall were missing. In addition there was a plastic glade air freshener in the closet. The chairs around the pools were missing cushions. One cushion that did exist had a giant hole in the cover As far as service, We were shown to our room and told the comforter that went on the bed wasn't ready yet and was still in the wash. The gentleman who showed us to the room also mentioned we were missing coffee. He left the room. Several hours went by and still no comforter or coffee. When we went to dinner at the hotel, we asked about the comforter and were handed it to bring back as we left the lobby. The poor service continued throughout the stay. Housekeeping never showed up, promises to bring towels to the room were never kept, we were told dinner reservations would be made but would not etc Unless u care only about the setting, stay anywhere else

The rooms were a little tired but perfectly functional and having a walk in wardrobe, huge shower & kitchenette made our stay more comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Megan (10/5): Amazing location and food was excellent - Wow what a beautiful location. Staff were friendly and helpful but were very busy! This is a lovely place, food was excellent and room comfortable. Just a few minor things that could be improved - dripping tap, modernisation of bathroom but overall recommended for a quiet stay in a wonderful location with great food.
David (2/5): Deceiving! - I am sure 10 years ago the hotel was great. It’s just run down since it’s 2012 travel awards they received. Staff was nice but room was out dated and affected by the years of humidity. Firstly it was a challenge to locate the property. Zero signage indicating its location distance/direction to villas. Locks on doors were not functional for the patio and outdoor shower. The bed was probably the hardest mattress I have ever slept on. Sink water unsafe for consumption (teeth brushing, face washing, etc.) Property at night is not well lit, especially in the parking lot that is a distance from the hotel reception. Overall just needs to be maintained and cleaned up.

They booked several activities for us and shared recommendations for restaurants and additional sites. Service was excellent in the dining room, and the popen air massage was amazing.

Jessica (8/5): - Nice small hotel with excellent service. The views of the ocean from our balcony were beautiful and the setting was very peaceful. The room was very clean. The only draw back was that the room had a bad odor - maybe an issue with the drains or septic system. The air conditioner helped to mask it a little, but it persisted throughout the 2 night stay. Hopefully it was just our room and it can be fixed.

Pritika (6/5): - PROS 1) Geral works in the bar/restaurant, and is a great asset to this place. 2) The view CONS 1) awful hard beds, gave us neck/back aches 2) massage terrible, boyfriend felt the gentle caress, short gasping breath, trembling hands, and sweat falling on him from masseuse victor. 3) Diego at front desk does not care. Not into customer service. 4) awful food. Ceviche with bones in it that one could choke on. Thai curry inedible. Dessert with nuts that people aren't made aware of, beware if have allergies, as Diego won't tell you about it. 5) water pressure is a trickle in sink and shower, room 3. 6) did not get the Expedia VIP benefits of $23 food discount

Charles (8/5): Stay at Tiki - We loved our stay at Tiki and enjoyed the solitude and peaceful surroundings. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The manager was so helpful and enjoyable to speak with. Our only comment would be regarding the breakfast. Sometimes the food did not come out hot and seemed to have been prepared earlier. It was not necessarily fresh tasting. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.
carl (8/5): - Lovely staff, terrific restaurant onsite; terrific ocean view with lots of birds. Cons: no place to sit in the room other than on the beds. The balcony deck has a table and a couple of chairs that we moved inside; toilet sounded like the furnace failing in A Christmas Story. Overall the rooms could use a facelift.

The 4x4 only road continues past the resort up to the very top of a look out, where we saw monkeys and watched a spectacular sunset. The team at Tiki Villas were kind, and it was absolutely serene and peaceful. Very convenient location, immaculate grounds, and the feel of the seclusion was what made it perfect. Wonderful place for reflection, grounding and peace for the soul. Will absolutely recommend and stay again!

Danielle (10/5): - I have never walked into a hotel and just wanted to stay put. This place is up the hill with a view overlooking the ocean. We swam as we did some bird watching and watched the sun set. Our alarm was set to the howler monkeys. The staff were friends that we hung out with sharing about the surroundings. The chef, who took advantage of the local culture made the best food that you could not get enough. Why would I ever leave this place??

Breakfast was acceptable but our experience with dinner was not good, the food was greasy, portions were small and the price was too high. I would definitely encourage people to eat out in many great restaurants in Dominical and Uvita. We had to eat at the hotel because of Covid restrictions. To top it off, we ordered a creme brulee and it was easily the worst one I have ever tried, and I have a sweet tooth and eat just about everything.
Julie (6/5): One Week Stay at Tiki - The facilities are nice and clean. The pool and deck are small, but fine. The best part about the hotel was the staff, Adrian and Girard, who were friendly, attentive and helpful. The worst thing about the hotel was the internet service. Was very spotty. There is no cell signal on the property so you have to rely on wifi and the wifi there was terrible -- coming in and out sporadically.

No wifi in rooms, no water pressure, terrible food, small pool, tired rooms, no blanket. The money was a lot for what you get. The location, however, was great as it was near where we needed to be each day.

Verified traveler (10/5): - After a long drive to get to the property from San Jose, we arrived and were checked in after a few minutes. As it was dinner time someone had to come away from serving but check in was easy and quick. He helped us get our bags from the car as the parking is a little walk from the actual rooms (because it's on the side of a mountain). The only downside to the drive into the property is firstly it's very remote so I didn't have a cell phone signal and I ended up at the property next door in the dark with no way to contact the hotel to find out where I was meant to be but the neighbors sent me in the right direction. Then the drive in really does need a 4x4 but our little rental car did OK. The individual villas are fantastic. The view from every room is incredible. The beds are a little hard but not like some beds I've slept in in Costa Rica. It was impeccably clean and while we were told not to drink the water by the staff they do give you bottled water and the room also had a kettle that I would boil before bed to have water to make coffee with in the morning. The balcony is large and looks out over the rainforest and the ocean. The location couldn't be more perfect,. The restaurant breakfast was very good, but I wasn't impressed with the selection for dinner as it was a little limited and fairly expensive but what I ate was very good. If you're lazy you're not going to like the stairs to the restaurant.

STEPHEN (10/5): Relaxing and beautiful hotel with great service! - This was actually my favourite hotel of many places in Costa Rica. The gracious and friendly service, especially from Gerald and Jason, was outstanding from the start and made this place feel even more high end. Our villa was very spacious, had a beautiful view and felt private, yet was only a 20 second walk to the dining building. The outdoor shower was a treat as well. A highlight was lounging by the infinity pool with a good drink, while watching toucans and other birds fly and sing around us as the sun went down.

We woke up to views of the rainforest and watched the sun set over the Pacific from the infinity pool. The staff were really friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. Incredible location!

Juliano (2/5): - So disappointed... dirty and outdated hotel. This is not a four star hotel at all, looked like a one star hotel. Kitchen was closed due to the hotel only having two guests on site! What kind of service do they provide!?!?! None! Hotel had no staff after 11pm, a young guy greeted us with a lantern and led us to our room at night, that was the service! Narrow uphill road is not paved at all, drive at your own risk! Be careful, at night as it is pitch black in that hotel area and loaded with wild animals.
Vanessa (10/5): - TikiVillas is a wonderful place to stay. The location is amazing, and Tiki staff will make you feel that you are in paradise. Staff is friendly, and well prepared to assist you. The TikiVilla restaurant offers limited menu but each meal is extremely worthy to taste. The room has a wonderful view to the sea, besides green nature surrounds your room. The open balcony as well as the double shower (one indoors, and the other outdoors) is a plus.

The villas have amazing views of the ocean & jungle, it was really nice to sit outside on the private balconies and listen to the sounds of the rainforest. The villas themselves were very spacious, clean and fairly modern. The bathrooms we're very nice and spacious with an adjacent outdoor private shower which we used almost every night- very cool! The staff was very friendly and helpful with tours around the area. I would recommend TikiVillas to anyone coming to this area.
Kathe (10/5): - The personal care of staff is amazing. Views ant atmosphere unbelievably relaxing and beautiful. Bathrooms are very nice. Pool is nice and kept very clean. Chefs excellent. No real comfortable place to sit. Chairs are a bit hard. Bed slightly firm but ok.
E. Neco (8/5): Beautiful tropical views from the infinity pool! - Tiki Villas is a nice property in the rainforest, offering beautiful ocean views. I especially liked the boutique size of the property with only 12 cabins and an inviting infinity pool. I was not impressed with the cleanliness or maintenance of the property. The ceiling fans and deck chairs were rusted really bad and the cleaning sponge in the kitchen was well, well worn (which I assume is what was used to clean my dishes?!) Overall, I would recommend Tiki Villas as a pleasant stay that is centrally located in the Dominical/Uvita area. There are plenty of cool birds (even toucans) and animal sightings right on the property. I also think the price was a bit high for the return. Special thanks to Gerald, who wore many hats as the receptionist/waiter/bartender/concierge for a wonderful stay!

Brooke (6/5): Beautiful Setting, Poor Satisfaction - The hotel is overpriced compared to the amenities offered. Rooms and buildings are in need of repairs, broken blinds gave the rooms a shabby appearance and were not sufficiently stocked with amenities like iron and ironing boards or televisions. I expected more for the price.The air conditioners were very under powered and were unable to cool rooms in the mid day heat and humidity. Food and service was average and the dining area was not very accessible for early morning coffee etc. However, the setting was indeed very beautiful and the staff pleasant, just not well experienced. We left a day early, forfeiting our last night prepayment for two rooms just to get some quality rest in another hotel with better amenities at a comparable price. I felt naive and assumed too much based upon past experience in like priced boutique hotels. Should not have prepaid for two rooms and five days. Live and learn.

Amado (10/5): My new 2nd home - We absolutely loved this place from the moment we arrived we were greeted by incredibly polite staff . The staff made the place very welcoming and easy to stay comfortable . The room was very clean and the view was spectacular . This town was unlike any place I ever visited . I am not huge on tourism I would rather hang with locals and this place was just that. The town's of uvita and dominical were very tight knit . If you get a chance go eat at kemvari it's a little place on the side of the road and is great food and the family that runs it were great . Tikivillas and uvita were an amazing experience .
Amelia (10/5): Nice hotel with great view - This place was great. Very private with a view overlooking the ocean and our room had an outdoor shower which was pretty cool. The room was really clean and the staff was very helpful.

S.Cameron (10/5): Beautiful hotel with incredible staff - The villas were huge and beautiful - real luxury. In the middle of nowhere so real peace and quiet! So much to do and close to Dominical and Uvita and all the sights! There had been an earthquake so pool was out so staff went above and beyond to assist, drive us places, offered complimentary breakfast etc. This was the best hotel staff experience I have ever had! Truly exceptional - being 2 girls they looked after us and ensured we always had transportation booked for us to come home. Had lots of helpful suggestions, organised trips and transportation and were pleasant to be around!
Eric (4/5): Dont waste your money! - My experience here was not good. We stayed 2 nights. During that time we had no or barely any hot water. No pressure from the hot water. Electricity went out a few times. Internet/WiFi service was horrible. At one point the Internet went out completely. I actually fixed there Internet service for them. This place has no paved roads. There was no phone in the room to even call the concierge. Had no towels in the room. Bottom line is that for the money they charge here you are better off staying somewhere nicer with more amenities for the same price or cheaper. I know I will not be stay here again.

Kim (10/5): Fabulous to have your own private villa! - Location great. Our favorite part of Costa Rica. The staff could not have been nicer. Adrian was extremely helpful. The chef Roberto made awesome meals with the help of Leroy. We met the owner Thomas too. He is so nice. Gary was a great guy as well. As you can see, we felt like family learning everyone's names.. Will definitely recommend to anyone! Awesome view, great pool, toucans, monkeys, ETC!!!
Kate (4/5): Very disappointing visit. - I have stayed at this hotel before and was expecting the polite service of the previous owner. He was so polite and really cared about the hotel and guests. Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed with the staff members currently working. There was one young guy who really gave no effort at all. He did not greet us when we arrived. No smiles. When he was working the front desk we felt awkward in the pool reception area. I booked a tour a week before we arrived through the hotel. I enquired about it when we arrived. He said he would get back to me. Never did. I asked about it again the day before and he told me the tour was not going to happen, there was no room. Meaning, they never made the booking. The water in the hotel is not safe to drink due to not treating to save the poison dart frogs. So at check in we were told that water bottles would be available at the front desk- to just come back and ask for more when we ran out and there was no charge, but don't drink the tap water. At check out we had charges for water on the bill and we were told the young guy should have told us we needed to refill the same water bottles from their water filters. There was absolutely no wifi in the room. You had to be in the lobby. But the lobby environment was not friendly. Power went out one night. They have no flashlights or candles in the rooms. The rooms are nice with a pretty view. But the service and complete lack of an ounce of friendliness ruined the stay.
