Guest Reviews
- KELYN (10/5): -
- Dominique (8/5): This was pretty perfect for my young kids and I to stay for their first time to the snow. Heat worked great and easy to - We loved that this was slightly off the main Tahoe road and it gave a more secluded feel without being too far from the fun. The cabin could have been a little more clean

- Tias (2/5): - Parking Not cleaned properly, dirty couch cover, dirty stair cases, bathroom appliances are too old, cracked, not maintained, upper floor is not suitable for adults, we booked for 5 adults, height low was not mentioned anywhere. They charged us for cleaning but gave instructions to clean kitchen, stove etc, then why we paid for cleaning? There was no handwashing liquid in kitchen or bathroom, that’s basic right ? Overall we don’t recommend this to anyone.
- Eva (8/5): -
- Jose (5/5): Great location but with rodent problems. - The location was great, the lake beaches were only 15-30 min away by car. The area is a beautiful forest town with a lot to do. The host was attentive and was available if needed. On our last night, we discovered a rat or mouse in the kitchen area. It had scratched/bit holes in the walls so it was able to move around the cabin within the walls. It's a little understandable, since it's a mountain town, there's bound to be critters and rodents but when you're paying $800 for 3 nights, you'd expect better upkeep.
- Martha (10/5): Volveré Dios mediante a este alojamiento. - La tranquilidad .. muy cómodo. La verdad no tengo nada que decir todo fue muy bien
- Arvey alejandro (7/5): nice - I loved the cabin. It’s very family-friendly, the location is excellent, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The bathroom needs the toilet bowl to be replaced; it is very deteriorated and worn out.
- Monica (6/5): - The beds are comfy Almost all of the cottage, not satisfied with the one we get , duty a lot of dust , spider webs, smells gas a lot , not happy sorry I think not staying again disappointed 😞
- ledesma (10/5): -
- Maysee (8/5): Beautiful & cute cabin. Love the 2 loft rooms - Cozy, cute, furnished and spacious. Heater was a bit loud.
- Rocio (10/5): -
- Liliana (10/5): - Muy rústico y acogedor
- Saul (10/5): -
- Ji (8/5): - Location was great and host made sure that we had extra blankets. Heating unit is pretty loud, especially in the downstairs bathroom but not sure that anything can be done about that.
- Davy Valerie (6/5): Joli chalet bien situe - Chalet bien placé
- Gregorio (10/5): - mirar osos
- Joseph (8/5): This could be such a great place to stay if they cleaned properly, and made sure that the dishes are clean as well - Like the individual cabin The cabin needs to be cleaned.. whoever housekeeps needs to learn what clean really is
- Maria (8/5): Cozy mountain getaway with friends - Ambience and the cottage itself.cozy ànd kitchen facilities.complete amenities.lots of rooms it accomodates 5..accesible to attractions and stores Flusher kept coming off stairs are too narrow.incomplete lighting inside and out.missing bulbs at the porch
- Anel (10/5): -
- suzanne (10/5): - This property was very well maintained equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed. Even though we didn’t use it. The upstairs loft is perfect for kids and the manager was very communicative. I would definitely book with them again!
- Hernandez (7/5): - The coffee maker was dirty. We washed it, and it turned out it was dirty because it wasn't working. All the coffee went where the water goes. The floor was dirty and covered in dust. Everything else was fine.
- Karen (6/5): - The host was nice but the cabin is not very well maintained with the cleaning. it was dirty the dinning table was loose, the floor in the bathroom is damaged, it need repair also the floors upstairs, and in one of the windows upstairs has gum trash.
- Victoria (9/5): It was perfect for my family and exactly what we needed! - Loved how close it was to everything and how secluded it was. Feel like there could always be some updates with places you stay at. Possibly add some outdoor seating or area to have a fire pit as we had to walk to the campgrounds to enjoy that.
- Jamie (8/5): Great value, great location! Had everything we needed to cook. - Reasonable accommodations for great price. A great empty lot next door to walk/play dogs. Needed some upkeep ( loose boards on deck, key box difficult to put key in, crumbs under upstairs mattress).
- Torres (10/5): Este verano fue el mejor nunca habíamos tenido la oportunidad de ir en verano y la verdad quedamos encantados - Muy cómodo y cercas de todo la verdad para mi esta súper cómoda la cabaña la recomiendo
- Aline (8/5): - The cabin is nice but everything is really dated and needs to be updated. The kitchen has lots of pots, dishes and stuff but no cleaning supplies other than dish soap. No paper towels or basic things like salt/pepper or anything like that. I think for very little the place could be made much better but overall it was a nice stay. The host is very responsive and attended our need for new pans quickly. The bathroom really needs new flooring and a new sink faucet. The complex is nice and our stay was pretty quiet, the location is great. I hadn't noticed from the pictures that the loft ceiling is really low for adults and the stairs are very angled, could be dangerous for small children.
- Marcus (8/5): Very good -
- Lizbeth (7/5): Good - Loved that it was close to necessary places if needed, the cabin was a nice little get away.
I'd definitely book again.
Looking forward to booking again in the winter, hoping we get one with working heater. Cabin had no working A.C it was super hot our 2 nights, windows had no screens on them, so we couldn't have them opened either.
Couch mattress was super filthy.
Overall 8/10 experience
Little things like this can be fixed immediately
Looking forward to booking again
- Teresa (10/5): Good Family Get Away - We took our grandsons here as they requested a cabin in the woods to honor their parents that have passed away. We wanted to create new good memories for them. Their parents took them camping and to cabins all the time.
- Talita (6/5): - The property is really nice, but it was very dusty. Under the bed and everywhere else. I had terrible allergies while there. Other than that the place is amazing.
- Garcia (9/5): Great cabin and amazing location! - Comfortable and cozy Checking in and out of the property needed clarification.
- Avram (10/5): - Very cozy. Would stay again!
- Samantha (10/5): - The property was well maintained. The cabin was very quaint and fit a very full family. The places was clean and very accommodating. The overall stay was fun and peaceful.
- Carol (10/5): - Was a perfect Cabin type place. Great people and beautiful Tahoe. Had a great time!
- Abel (7/5): Good -
- Colleen (10/5): I would stay again for it was perfect with my grandkids and lots of other families stayed there so kids for them to play - Love the location and it was very quiet . Just the perfect little cabin It wasn’t very clean but call management and they took care of it right away
- Punit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chu (9/5): Superb -
- Necmi (8/5): Very good -
- Phil (7/5): Good - Beautiful setting Air con/heating was very noisy
- Dennis (9/5): Superb - Kitchen was well equipped with newer pots, pans, knives, utensils, etc. Mattresses were comfortable. Stayed in Unit 2. The furnace is next to the bedroom and is very loud. Kept waking us up every time it kicked on, so we slept in the loft.
Kitchen exhaust fan doesn't vent to the outside, just recirculates unhealthy combustion gases inside the house. We had to open the windows and door to vent out in 30 degree F weather whenever we used the stove.
- Carlos (6/5): Pleasant - Location was good
- Harmony (3/5): Couldn’t wait to leave! - Beautiful setting, cute cabin vibe Cabin 11 had a warm cosy vibe, beds were nice, but there was a thin layer of grease around the stove and cabinets, and nothing felt really clean. Everything has to be washed prior to use. Two of the 3 kitchen chairs had a broken piece on the legs that made them unstable. The shower had a broken handle that made adjusting the water very difficult (called to get it fixed but no one showed up) and the bathroom needed a deep clean. But the worst part was the nightly visit from a HUGE rat. We saw it at one point, and it left fresh droppings around the kitchen table every night (after the first night we got all the food up in higher cupboards). We could also hear a chewing sound under the living room area. Great potential to the cabin, but needs the broken stuff fixed, a really deep clean, and the rodent problem fixed.
- Tracy (6/5): Would not consider returning to this property. - What I like best was the location because is was at the mid point from Sierra and South Tahoe. It was great that my entire family could fit into that tiny home and feel comfortable there. There were a lot of things that didn't go well. The internet didn't work to well and I had work and school assignments that needed to be done. There were some things that were broken. The sink head spun around, window screen above the sink was broken so we couldn't open it. There was a screw sticking out at the top of the staircase. There was a missing electrical cover in the bedroom. No TV in the bedroom although there was a space for it. The curtain in the living room kept on falling because it wasn't secured. The door knob at the main entrance was loose. They do not have any washing room facilities on property and parking is a challenge. Although it was a decent place to stay with a great price, I believe the property should look into improving the little things that could make a difference in receiving a good rating and have people return to stay at the property.
- Ed (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (1/5): Won’t go back - Heat did not work. Smelled like propane. No blankets. No paper towels. Internet spotty. Late check in at 4 and required early check out by 10. Unit #10
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rimas (9/5): Superb -
- J (9/5): Superb -
- Zongjie (5/5): Passable - The WiFi was really bad, no WiFi signals in the bedroom.
- Patricia (3/5): Poor - The cabin was cute, liked the area Let's see where do I start. First The heater Didn't work, there was only a space heater for the whole cabin, we were freezing. Had to go buy more space heaters and blankets. The place was very dirty, i don't understand why they charge $150.00 for a cleaning fee if theyre not going to clean it good. The stove and oven were disgusting. The baseboard in the bathroom was nasty, plus there was no towel holder only a hook over the door there's no window in there so every time someone took a shower it was full of steam the air vent was weak so it didn't suck in the moisture. there was only one bathroom for seven people. I admit that was my mistake for not checking if there was more than one bathroom available. There's only a small table with three chairs could only use two one was wobbly, so we weren't able to have our New Years dinner as planned we had to sit on the couch holding our plates NOT comfortable. The pictures on line are deceiving. The only thing that was nice and clean was the fridge. NOT going back to Cedar Pines ever!!
- Ines (6/5): - The place was okay, but there were indications of rats Because in the kitchen under the sink was rat poop and also in the bathroom, I hope the owner of the property can take very good care of this serious matter,
- YESENIA (10/5): - Cozy cabin had what we needed for our stay
- Stephanie (10/5): Amazing experience - Cozy location
- Alyshia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Avinash (4/5): Not worth for the money paid - Location The stairs and upstairs carpet was so dirty
Continuous gas smell in leaving room
- Diana (8/5): Very good -
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Grace (8/5): - Nice area
- Christopher (1/5): The home was very dirty in a good location but not clean . - The home was not suitable for guest . Everything
- Trang (6/5): Pleasant - The cabin was charming and has a lot of space inside for a big group of people. We only have 2 people and our dog so it was really spacious. It is also centrally located and close to good brunch places and restaurants. The cabin smells musky and the sofa bed in the living room was really old. The springs inside were not working well. Some of the lights in the living room did not work. One of the beds upstairs seemed like it has bed bugs...I was feeling really itchy as I was trying to sleep on it. I found a few bite marks on my back but not sure if it was from mosquitoes or bed bug. I had to move down to the main bedroom downstairs and was able to get some sleep there. Overall the cabin could use a bit more cleaning and upgrades but for the price, it was decent. Not sure if I will come back due to the bed bugs.
- Caroline (6/5): We enjoyed our experience. Felt the price was a bit much and frustrating with how dirty it was. - We liked that it was an experience. We originally went to cabin 14 which we loved. But was switched to 15, which was nice. Just liked the other cabin better. We didn’t like that we had to pay for a cleaning service when we went into the cabin it wasn’t the cleanest. Piles of dust everywhere. Pots were dirty, previous food from a visit before on there. We were originally switched because the heater was broken in the other one. The one we stayed in ended up getting too hot, even with the heater off. Woke up the next day and had someone else say it was their cabin. So planning wasn’t the greatest for guests. We had someone who had a party and was honking at 1am a few times that kept waking us up.
- G (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jholor (8/5): - A place like home feeling. Check in is smooth ( they will text you instruction before check in time. There’s no front desk but they will communicate with you through text and call. Kitchen is fully equipped. My kids love the experience on our entire stay. Will definitely come back
- Teodorico (5/5): Decent accommodation with privacy but could have been kept better. - Location and number of beds. The place is obviously old and needed repairs. Their were areas that you can tell has not been clean in a while, like the blinds, the living room fan blades, vent fan in the bathroom, the hair dryer and there was half full 2 liter frozen soda in the freezer. Should also have paper towels and kleenex.
- Donough (7/5): Nice property, would recommend. - Very cool property, large motor home sized. Was a very unique stay. In decent area. Upstairs ceiling is 4ft high roughly. Owner said he contacted me with details to open property but he didnt. Very cramped for over 5 people. As previously mentioned, the property is roughly the same size as a large motorhome.
- Jan (6/5): - Cabin no .11 bring bug spray and some tools ,shower faucet handle was laying on top of the toilet tv remote didn’t work bad smell in the kitchen some cabinet doors about ready to fall off had to call and they sent someone out put the shower handle back on and some batteries for the remote some one needs to do a walk through on this unit
- Lamar (9/5): Awesome beautiful peaceful - Very cozy, comfortable beds, all the amenities you'd need for an extended stay, great location away from all the hustle and bustle near the lake and county line. I travel a lot and have stayed in many different types of locations, I would most definitely rank Cedar Pines in my top 5, maybe top 3 stays of all time!
Would love to visit again in the winter! We loved everything!
So it's hard to come up with anything we didn't like about our stay, but;
The loft sleeping area seemed to be more geared towards little kids, our 13 y/o had to hunch and crawl around up there but she didn't complain.
Had a hard time getting the shower to work at first (older fixtures) but we figured it out, also the TV was a little wonky.
That's about it, all very minor things that did not effect our enjoyment of the stay at all.
We will be back!
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - I love the location and proximity to my work at the hospital, I appreciated the late checkout. Very sparsely supplied - no sugar, salt or pepper, no paper towels. Chairs at the table are uncomfortable. The side table by the couch was filthy and sticky. There is no hot water in the bathroom sink. The overhead lights in the bathroom are very glaring and harsh.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The property was very cozy and clean. Had all the amenities we needed, and area felt very safe. Owner was communicative and would answer any questions we had. Check in and out was very smooth. Overall great experience.
- Stasi (10/5): - This place was amazing. The guy over the phone was so friendly and quick to respond to any concerns. The cabin, felt like home, everything so clean. The beds was so comfortable. My girls loved it too. Definitely will come back here.
- Nora (5/5): Cabin is too small for a family of 6, with teenagers. - It is a cute cabin. It is way too small for a family of 6, with 4 teenagers. The ceiling of the loft is too low as my kids are 6 feet tall. The hallway is too small for 2 people to walk at the same time. One bathroom is not adequate for a family of 6.
- Roland (8/5): - This place was cozy and my kids loved it. Communicating with the property owners they were a bit grouchy over a simple request but i can get over that.
- MARISOL (6/5): - The refrigerator had rings of old spilled liquid. The bath faucet handle was broken to control the water temp. We found 3 small worms in the upstairs loft on the beds and a roach in the kitchen.
- Lori (6/5): It's ok. Doesn't live up to its rating. - The location. Also that it included everything, a little house. Cute cabin feel. I was in cabin 10. The bedding and towels were fresh and clean. The sinks, shower, and toilet were clean. The mattresses looked pretty new. The bedroom has a memory foam mattress. It could use a refresh. Deep clean, paint, and new futon mattress and cover. There was dirt in the corners and the door was grungy in the bathroom.
The blinds in the front window were very broken, someone could easily see inside.
All doors felt insecure, even the bathroom. They did lock, but they jiggled and you had to finesse it to secure them.
The loft is very low, my almost 4 foot tall, 10 year old had to duck in there. I'm not sure how comfortable 8 people would be. Also there is only one small bathroom.
Even though you pay a cleaning fee they expect you to wash dishes, clean the microwave, and take out trash before leaving? Not everyone cleans the dishes and they don't seem to check. So be prepared to clean before you use. They don't supply paper towels or extra garbage bags. There was dish soap but the sponge smelled like metal. Also the refrigerator needs a deep clean.
Finally there was no extra bedding. I did not call to ask for more because my kids brought their own blankets but the beds only come with sheets and a thin comforter. Hopefully just because it's summer.
- Franz (8/5): Nice location, friendly owner, spacious and affordable. Portable A/C not enough to cool down the cabin. - Location, friendly owner spacious and affordable. Not thoroughly cleaned, portable A/C leaking and not cooling the whole cabin.
- Cynthia (7/5): Good - Location was good. Close to a lot of places, beaches, we saw a bear 🐻.. it was a great experience. Such an amazing place
- Sandra (10/5): - Very like
- Lizbet (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great place to stay for my family of 6
- emanuel (10/5): - Great lil cabin family and I loved it had everything we needed
- Reina (5/5): Parking is great along with neighbors. Cabins need a few maintenance attention. - Location Shower in cabin 5 was inoperable. Had someone get locked in bathroom. Had to take apart knob. Cabin entry door knob needed to be tightened. Response from manager was excellent. He came quick, brought a new door knob and installed for us.
- Shannon (7/5): Cute camping cabin - Good price, pet friendly. Supplies for linen, trash, and bathroom were enough and clean. Very comfortable mattresses! Enough room for everyone to sleep. Nice bathroom. The blinds were broken and need to be repaired/replaced. There was no outside furniture, a picnic table would be nice. The dishes needed to be rewashed and the faucet should be replaced.
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional - Comfor N/A
- Yordanka (7/5): Good -
- Melissa (1/5): This property needs a lot of repairs. - Location There was a gas smell, we even had to open the windows. Shades broken on top rooms. Sheets dirty with stains. Microwave broken as well.
- Chelsey (6/5): - The property location was great. Not too close to town, but not too far. The house had some broken things that needed fixed.. and the floor was dirty and needed mopped. The master bed was not comfortable. The air conditioner was also broken, so the house was hot during the day.
- Kari (8/5): - Floors were left pretty dirty…pans were old and food stuck…bathroom small. Overall satisfied…cute and quiet place and close to food/convenient…good location.
- Neelam (6/5): - Very inconvenient with parents. No patio to sit outside. The location is convenient to stores and sites but the cabin itself is in a very average location close to a campground, nothing like a resort. The cabin was clean, the shower was hard to use, and management was quick to respond.
- Julia (8/5): - I liked that it was modern and comfortable for my stay. I only wish there was cleaning supplies, I didn't cook but would of liked to see more utensils to prep and cook. The place was just right, bedding was great and plenty of towels for my stay. If I come agy, I'll have to make sure I bring things to cook with, paper towels and cleaning supplies.
- Dannielle (10/5): Perfect for large families - Loved this place! Perfect for our family of 6!
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabby (10/5): - Cute little cabin for a getaway with family and pets :)
- Leoncio (4/5): - This property is run down because it is poorly maintained. I was not comfortable sitting on the sofa. It looked extremely unclean. I like cooking that’s the main reason I chose this property. The refrigerator didn’t work properly. The food that I put in the refrigerator side froze. The only two interior doors in the cabin had fist sized holes in them. The bathroom was poorly cleaned! Toilet still had stains from previous guest. The shower valve handle was broken, hard to use. Shower head barely sprayed water. Sink was stopped, again due to poor maintenance. The bed was actually comfortable except for the base kept leaning at a 45 degree angle due to being partially broken. The bedroom had no TV. It looked like at one time it did. The laminated floors were damaged throughout cabin foot print. Last, the cabin is extremely dated. I’m only submitting this because I noticed some of the other cabins looked better maintained. Maybe I got the worst one??? It can be a fairly nice cabin with some work. Thank you
- Melody (9/5): Superb -
