Guest Reviews
- Gord (10/5): - Anna was extremely helpful as well as cleaning staff
Breakfast staff were amazing.
Thank you for a wonderful stay
- Lynn (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff
- Claudio (6/5): - Overall, it was a poor experience. Most importantly, this property is misrepresented by Expedia as a hotel. It is NOT a hotel. It is a bed and breakfast experience at best.
Several major issues experienced 1) there’s no safe. No ability to lock up passports and money and yet staff enter the room daily - despite setting up the electronic DND (do not disturb) setting. It was surprising in the first day and disturbing in the 2nd day as we purposefully attempted to stop staff from entering. The main issue is not staff … it is that they leave door wide open while cleaning room and anyone can enter while they are working in bathrooms etc. I walked by open door rooms myself that I could have easily entered and pilfered without anyone being aware. 2) There is 1 person working - who appears to be the same person manning desk and morning breakfast and cleaning. Not enough staff. 3) as this is a b& b and not a hotel that is properly staffed we experienced a terrible last day with children openly running up and down the hallways screaming and talking loudly with parents at 6:00 am. Zero respect from other patrons but most importantly no vigilance and no interception from staff. The desk is not manned during the evening and despite the noise continuing well into morning hours of 8 am - the one lady that worked said nothing to intercept and attempt to control the wayward family wreaking havoc for other patrons. Understaffed b&b with no security and poor management.
- Luigi (10/5): - Great staff!!
- Chelsea (10/5): - We had great time at La Casa di Morfeo! It is such a cute hotel in a great area. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Sonia (10/5): Tudo ótimo! - Foi uma experiência muito boa! O hotel é bem localizado. Todas as funcionárias são atenciosas e solícitas. O quarto é limpo e de ótimo tamanho. Banheiro idem. Voltarei certamente!
- Svetlana (6/5): - We had a water leak from the ceiling, which was terrible. They were very apologetic, still it is unacceptable. It's not really a hotel, just a few rooms in the building rented out to tourists. The breakfast is not good. Location is ok, 15-20 minutes walk to main plazas and good restaurants.
- Teresa (8/5): Nice rooms, not breakfast - Rooms are nice, bathrooms nice. Breakfast is a little lacking.
- MARIA (6/5): - No front desk available except for check in and out.
Breakfast for one hour 7:30 am ?????and nobody even informed us.
If you want to charge your phone you need to sleep with lights on while somebody is using a drill the entire night.
- Melody (10/5): - The staff and the architecture of the room are the best. We only stayed for one day and a half and staff made great recommendations for food, places to visit, and even helped us get museum tickets. Eternally grateful for making our stay so enjoyable and easy!
- Daniel (10/5): 100%Buchungsempfehlung - Super gut gelegenes nettes Hotel. Extreemst freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Bett Gross und Bequem. Grosses Zimmer.
- Sigrid (8/5): - I loved my room, when the digital portion of licking the room safe did not work and the digital room key had some trouble, they immediately provided me with keys to the safe as well as my room and the outside entrance way, which was only marked by a 8"x11" metal sign. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. I would definitely stay there again,
- Alishia (8/5): - Staff was very helpful and kind. I had never stayed in a boutique and so didn’t know what to expect. Room was clean and spacious.
- SALLY (10/5): - We stayed here for six nights in September & very happy with our decision to choose La Casa di Morfeo. The Santa Croce district location was close to the cathedral, the Bargello, and the Arno River. The hotel is quite small, more like a bed-and-breakfast than a full-scale hotel. It was charming and the staff were friendly and happy to help you with directions, calling cabs, making recommendations. Breakfast is basic but will get you started in the morning. The room was a decent size with a king bed & coffee service. The shower was really nice - four shower-heads mounted on the wall plus the overhead stream - a great way to end an exhausting day sightseeing! An excellent coffee/cocktail bar is across the street and a great neighborhood pizza spot is down the block (Caffe-Bistrot Malborghetto). We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to those looking for a quiet, local neighborhood.
- jeffrey (10/5): - Full size bed was great. Shower was great.
- Laura (6/5): - Nice basic accommodation. Staff were very friendly and welcoming - we were able to leave our bags in the lobby for the day whilst the room was prepared for us which we appreciate.
Room was fairly dirty and needed a good scrub and vacuum. There was grime on the floor, in the bathroom on the walls. I had to collect a clump of someone else’s hair from the shower wall and pop in the bin before having the first shower. The shower didn’t look to have been cleaned at all and had hair and black mould around the tiles.
Property is located in a fairly handy area and is within an easy walking distance of multiple attractions.
- Michelle (8/5): - This property was a property that we selected when our original accommodations were not acceptable. We selected this property with limited research and were Delighted to find that it was exactly as advertised. The staff was friendly and Welcoming. The property was clean. Most importantly, the air conditioning worked Which was essential given that the temperature outside was between 95 and 100° when we visited.
- Nancy (8/5): Nice rooms, not much around - The building itself is old, dark, and could use some updating. However, our room was very nice. Although small, it was extremely clean, and it was comfortable. The closest parking garage isn't super convenient, especially when dragging luggage up the stony streets. The outside is not well-lit, which made me a bit nervous and made it hard to find at night. Overall, we liked the room very much, but we didn't care for the location.
- Borislav (10/5): - Amazing location and staff. Some noise at night from the street, but wasn't that big of a deal. Bakeries down the street, walking distance to everything, comfortable beds, working AC.
- Alicia (8/5): - Had 2 rooms. 1 had wrong beds and they changed it within a hour. Room was nice and close to a lot. Everything was walkable. Staff was nice. AC was good in 1 room and didn’t work first night in other room. They fixed it day 2 but it leaked water next few days on floor. Shower was amazing. Didn’t do food or watch TV so can’t speak to those. Had laundry service done that worked out great.
- Soji (6/5): - This hotel is fine for a stay but everything is budget level. By the reviews I thought the only low end part of it was the entrance- having to go through a dark and dirty looking entry to the main door is definitely uncomfortable and felt a bit unsafe. But actually it was low end inside also! There was one small table in the center of the room with 4 wooden chairs. Very simple furnishings that were superficially clean but there were some dusty/dirty spots around the floor corners and windows. The reviews described warm personal staff but our experience was basic generic interactions. Breakfast was good when we got there by 8 but the one morning we were there near 9 the yogurt was warm and the pineapple juice tasted off. I was mislead by the rave reviews and so want to be clear, this place is fine but not a bargain but rather just an appropriately low priced economy level stay. It was fine, but was the least enjoyable of the 3 guesthouses we stayed in during our Italy vacation. I would not book it again - I would pay a little more for a nicer place.
- BABAK (10/5): - Great
- Rosa (10/5): - Great staff and clean !! Thank you !
- Jennifer Kastning (10/5): - Comfortable bed and lovely room.
- Glenn (8/5): - The staff was extremely helpful. Costanza (maybe I’m misspelling her name) was exceptionally nice. It was not year season to have the a/c on but the room had very little air circulation. I left the window open for a while but there were mosquitoes. The area was also pretty noisy with a lot of cars honking and people yelling into the night. It was pretty walkable for us but we are in good shape. I only needed to take a bus when we had our luggage or took a little farther trip. Everything else was no more than a 15 minute walk.
- Michael (6/5): - The room was quite small but clean. It was fine for our needs.
- glen (10/5): - Beautiful comfortable rooms. Staff helpful!
- Nigel (10/5): Do it!!! - Fantastic room and amazing hospitality.
- jose (10/5): - La Casa Di Morfeo is more personal than your average hotel. This boutique hotel takes up a portion of a floor in a much larger building. The person at the desk was already expecting us, and checked us in quickly. Giulia called us several hours before to confirm our arrival and gave us directions, which I’ve never had a hotel do before. The hotel itself was bright, clean and very welcoming. The room was nicely air conditioned and very clean. The next morning, we were in a bit of a rush due to having timed tickets and this is where we met Giulia; professional, friendly and easy to talk to; she prepared our coffees and gave us some useful information. The breakfast buffet was perfect. Hotel was an easy ten minute stroll to Duomo. If I ever return to Florence I would definitely stay at La Casa Di Morfeo again. I cannot stress enough how wonderful Giulia was. Thank you for making us feel welcome.
- Nancy G (10/5): - Great staff. They were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was modern, nicely decorated and quiet.
- Georgette (8/5): - Nice unit and hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. A lot of street noise
- MONICA (8/5): - Posto silenzioso e tranquillo ben curato. Personale disponibile e competente
- LIONEL (10/5): - Located in an area near plenty of trattorias and local bars. Nice touristy sites. The hotel staff was amazing! They are very nice.
- Aimee (10/5): - This property is VERY unique and absolutely beautiful. The showers are huge and really welcome after a hot day in Florence. The most beautiful thing are the staff at the hotel. I loved the staff and would stay there again any time that I'm in Florence.
- MARIANA (10/5): Great location! - The rooms are very pretty! Great location close to the bus stop, shower was very cold because of some street renovations and AC was not working because of some regulations regarding the war in Ukraine. However our stay was comfortable and the room was very clean, the location is close to restaurants and bar, walking distance no need of any sort of transportation.
- Michael (10/5): - Super nice, large room with beautiful frescos on the ceilings. Spacious bathrooms too. Perfect.
- Christine (10/5): - Beautiful hotel
- sally (10/5): - The staff was super helpful, accommodating, pleasant. Good breakfast options. They provided excellent support as we were leaving for the rental car pickup. Authenticity nice. great room/bed/facilities, totally recommend them.
- Raquel (10/5): MUY BUENO - Muy buena relación calidad precio.
- Penelope (8/5): - Great location and fantastic staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved staying at this hotel
It is very small, only one floor with less than a dozen rooms. My room, however was spacious and clean. The hotel is located near Santa Croce churxh in a wuiet neighborhood. Don't be fooled or put off by the inconspicuous exterior, the hotel will not disappoint you. The staff was friendly and accommodating, i arrived fron a very early flight and they held my bags until I could check in. If you are looking for a departure from huge chain establishments where you are anonymous then seriously consider this hotel, it will add to tour overall Florence vacation.
.
- Pakawadee (10/5): - Good location, breakfast with good coffee, nice and clean room and bathroom, Excellent and helpful staff!!
Love this place!!
- Emanuele (10/5): - Posizione strateggica
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable B and B - Many things are excellent including beds and shower. Location close to Santa Croce and many restaurants. Far from train station. Breakfast continental style, not exciting. Excellent cappuccino. No on site staff after 7 and still need to drag bags up half flight of stairs to get to the elevator. Helpful hosts.
Bref, on recommande à 100% !
- Irina (10/5): - You can't expect much from a 3 star hotel, but this place pleasantly surprised me. I rented an apartment in Firenze, but it wasn't available the first two nights there. The hotel looked like an apartment building and i was scared ( to be disappointed). It was excellent!!! The staff is soooo friendly. We got checked in earlier. The room was clean, bed very comfortable. Breakfast is included (great food btw). The location is awesome. Mini bar prices shocked me ( how cheap the water was) same price as in a mini mart. The staff was so kind and so helpful. They told us where the locals buy food, how to get places, let us leave 6 luggage bags while we were waiting to check into our apartment. They made us feel welcomed i was sad to leave. I was at a 5 star resort in another country prior to Florence and they need to learn a thing or two from the ladies at this hotel!
- Christel (10/5): Florens - Bra läge i centrala Florens. Bra hjälp med parkeringsservice. Lagom frukost. Bra badrum och AC.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff, properly close to everything. If you want your place in Florence this could be your choice, but if you plan to travel around with a car not good location (it takes almost a whole hour to get to the highway)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wir hatten zwischendurch leider sehr, sehr laute Nachbarn!
- Ryan (10/5): - The staff hospitality was exceptional, and the location was very convenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was perfect! The room was spacious and decorated adorably! The hotel also served a delicious breakfast. There were so many options and it included a cappuccino! The bed was a bit firm but still comfortable and the windows cut out most of the noise.
The only difficult part was that it was a little tricky trying to figure out where exactly the hotel was. The sign is on the outside of the building and then there are no other signs or directions, but essentially just up a flight of stairs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- James (10/5): - Like the service, the location. Room was clean, breakfast is good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location (5-15min to most sites like museums and churches, 20min to the tram to get to/from the airport, bus stop 5min away), fine room with nice bathroom, excellent staff and nice breakfast.
On the downside, a bit old furniture, plastic chairs in the room, the mattress and pillows were not that comfortable, to my taste, i had trouble sleeping the first night. The noise isolation was not too great as well. The reception also works until 7.30pm, so late check in was a bit problematic, had to wait when someone would come over to the property (took 15min).
- Petek (6/5): Friendly - Kindless was very goodand so friendly but the breakfast was weak..
- Simona (10/5): Great stay at Florence - Excellent hotel for money! Very comfortable clean and good location. Very friendly staff.
- Dipak (6/5): Dark entrance - The place is nice. However, it is dark after hours on the ground floor to take elevator. Had to turn on the flash light. Will not prefer due to security reason
- Tracy (8/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Room a bit tired, the curtains were coming off the rail and paintwork needed some attention, but it was clean and comfortable
- Thomas (10/5): Winner! - Wonderful hotel within walking distance to many museums and churches
- Jose (10/5): Nice place - Nice place good breakfast friendly oriented.
- JACQUELINE (10/5): Florence Gem - Great location,helpful staff,quite,ample breakfast!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a wonderful experience. The location was great. Easy to get everywhere. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. The room we stayed in was amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice location, clean and nice. Liked staff who were courteous and willing to help
- fatma (8/5): Nice hotel. Just on the edge of the attractions
G - Receptionist very helpful.. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was adequate.
Location good just on the edge of all the attractions.
- Jesse (10/5): Loved it! - This place is AMAZING! You should definitely stay here if you are in Florence. I would have stayed multiple days had it not been booked! The service was excellent! Cappuccino was excellent! Bed was excellent! Shower was excellent and even had 2 shower heads! Very quiet. Plenty of space. I really have nothing negative to say about it. Great place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were lovely, breakfast was basic but the coffee was great. Wifi was pretty weak.
- M (8/5): - Great location reasonable breakfast. The beds were comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hidden gem, great location - This place might not have the full range of round-the-clock services available at other hotels, but my one-week stay could not have been more pleasant. The staff is consistently helpful. The rooms are clean and attractive, and the breakfast (included) is great. I also like the convenient, but out-of-the-way location. I would come back again for sure.
- Nick (8/5): Great Little hotel - Great little hotel, in a good location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room, orchid, was a good size. Just could do with a little bit more water pressure for a more decent shower.
- Linda (8/5): Gracious Staff - beautiful building - Be sure to tell the hotel staff the time of arrival. You need to get buzzed into the building from the front door. The lobby is up 2 flights of steps and it's a little dark; there is an elevator, though!
Very friendly staff who are multilingual and very gracious. Several block walk to major attractions like the Duomo.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay. We arrived late in the evening but we were met at the hotel by a very friendly and helpful man who showed us our room and provided a map & information about the area. Very quiet location and easy to walk to all points of interest. Breakfast was very good too. Would definitely return to this hotel again and highly recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room/facility was very nice. The location was also quite convenient, as it is close to the Duomo.
- Wael (6/5): - The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Yet we had issues in wifi and AC. i understand we were in a week of the hottest in Florence yet the AC was beyond acceptable.
The hotel location is in 7-8 min walking distance of the main attraction.
The hotel is clean and spacious room.
- Preeti (10/5): Great Location - Our stay at the Hotel La Casa di Morfeo in Florence was a very pleasant experience. Minutes walking distance away from most popular sites, close to good restaurants, yet on the quieter side of the street. The rooms were modern and comfortable, the breakfast was good and the staff ever so helpful. I would highly recommend the property.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay! - We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness and modernness of the accommodations and the knowledge that the staff shared with us of the local area! We felt very welcomed as soon as we arrived and were very pleased with all aspects of our stay! Super comfortable beds and room. We stayed in a 4 person room - 1 double bed and two twin beds - it was very roomy and spacious, accommodating our family quite well.
- Lucy (8/5): Good all round - Really liked this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location, you can walk everywhere. Like everywhere in Florence the street is fairly noisy. Shame that you either have heating or air con so it's hard to control the room temperature. Good breakfast with great coffee.
- Troy (10/5): - Very friendly staff, lager than expected room, and easy walking distance from anything you want to see.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel great staff Nice location big rooms - Nice worth the money good location and comfterbale rooms
Though there isnt a balcony
- Amanda (6/5): Nice hotel but not safe location - Lovely staff, super friendly and helpful. Nice rooms, however didnt like the area. Although distance wise, not too far from centre of Florence, at night (eve early 7pm) didnt feel safe walking down the local streets as a female. We got stopped quite a few times.
- Amin (10/5): Excellent experience 5/5 - Very respectful staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Wonderful service. Highly recommend!
- jackie (10/5): Spotless, modern with but with local charm, - Reception staff was very helpful, room spacious and spotless, modern bath which can be unusual in Italy. Breakfast just enough, easy walking distance to key sites. Very close to several excellent cafes and restaurants. Caution there is a lift for luggage but the lift starts one flight up
- Paul (8/5): Excellent standard B&B accommodation close to Arno - Comfortable room and bed that matched the advertised photos - a rarity on here!
Lovely decor and all very well maintained. Friendly welcome and good breakfast - but the area/kitchenette where breakfast is served from is just too small, hence buffet is small and had to be constantly refilled. The solo server was rushed off her feet and needs some assistance but dealt with us all stoicly!
A small gripe for an otherwise lovely stay in Florence - thank you!
- Robert (10/5): Great Little Hotel - The hotel is technically a 'three star', I guess because it is very small and the range of services it can offer is commensurately narrow. However, we had an excellent stay there. The staff were very welcoming and responded immediately to all our requests. We enjoyed a very good breakfast each morning and we were easily able to walk to all major points of interest.
- Mike (10/5): - The hotel staff upon arival were very welcoming, providing a expresso and taking the time to highlight on a map all the places of interest to visity and suggestions on how to get to them. The hotel is very funcky and all our room was very comfortable and stylishlly decorated. It is slightly of the beaten track, but you are right in the middle of the sightas within 5-10 minute walk. Would certainly stay there again
- Candice (6/5): Great hotel but way too hot - Staff were fantastic! Breakfast were great. Room was excessively hot which made it uncomfortable. If you opened your windows, mosquitoes and excessive noise were your only other option to heating yourself to a tropical temperature. Staff said there was nothing they could do as it had switched to central winter temperatures. Such a shame a great place was let down by unbearable temperatures!
- Paul (10/5): Nothing but great things to say about this hotel. - We stayed here for 3 nights in Florence, and everything that this small hotel has to offer is nothing but outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spotless and beds comfortable. It had a great location, just away from the city center. If you don't mind walking, it's about a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the Duomo, which is basically the center of the city. This hotel is very unassuming from the outside, but is nothing but clean, sleek, and modern when you walk into the second floor. I would like to stress the overall helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. We had a great experience.
- Rena (6/5): Nice hotel, minor kinks - The room was beautiful and clean. They greeted us with cold water (much appreciated) and were really warm and friendly. However, the fridge did not work properly and when I first tried to shower, there was no water, apparently due to a storm a few days earlier. To be fair, this wasn't the hotel's fault and I did ask for and receive some compensation (they waived the city tax--not enough IMO, but still something). At the same time, it was a pain not to have running water in my hotel room and because reception was closed at the time, I had to call another guy whose number they gave me. He showed up an hour later only to tell me there was nothing he could do. Not ideal.
Still, I feel like these were kinks that happen at a relatively new hotel, and I'd be happy to stay there again. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
