Each room has been updated to include a toilet and either a bath or shower. Main shared room is large and included reading materials, toys, and games. The dining room was large and comfortable. We weren’t sure where to check in, a sign in the parking area guiding guests to the front door would help BUT it wasn’t hard to figure out, just a bit unclear.

- FrankReviews (9/5): A traditional family stay - A lovely property and homely welcome, desire to give you a great stay. Clean, comfortable, big shared fridge, nice decor and in Hammondsport and very welcoming little town in a beautiful location on the lake. The pool and graden was pleasant too. The owners were a bit too laid back - didn't make themseleves visible until the day we left - and I think would typically offer great advice on the area. Their property overlooks the pool so a bit harder to relax there not knowing them.
- Terry (3/5): Could of been a lot better, if they would of upgraded - Location was good, walking distance to village center, good access to restaurants and shops slightly derived on room was expecting a cabin. Instead we got an upstairs small bedroom in a 150 year old farm house than had be renovated. That bathroom was a 24 inch wide closet under a stairwell with a toilet and a small 18 inch wide base sink, very difficult to wash up without making a mess.. The shower was a one piece unit the size of a small camper shower installed in another closet with no privacy, so that made no closets available for hanging clothes or suitcases, the air condition was a noisy window unit right beside the bed headboard. Down the hallway they had a much better room with more space a larger shower that was not occupied, but they never offered to us for a upgrade.

- Paul (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay at 18 Vine Street carriage house. - The historic house and remodeled carriage house where we stayed are spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and full of charm. Catherine, the host, is delightful. Wish we could have stayed longer than an overnight stay but would definitely stay here again if we return to the area. Everything was outstanding.

- Donna (5/5): Quaint but cramped and lacking amenities shown. - The property is historic and quaint. The historic elements are its appeal. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and within walking distance to downtown (about 10 min). We booked the Charles Champlain “Suite”. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and was decorated well but incredibly small, there was only space for the bed, night stands and a small bench that would hold a single suitcase. The bathroom was nicely appointed with luxury bath items, a nice shower with good water pressure although temperature was difficult to control. There was no fan & the windows didn’t open so ventilation was a problem. There was free parking although the parking space was awkward, it was adequate. While clearly there was an entrance near the parking area, one had to navigate around a gravel parking lot, a fenced area and up the stairs to the front door for entrance. I did not use the pool facilities so I cannot comment on those facilities. The tv service provided was Roku. The description of the room was dishonest. There was no coffee/tea maker or coffee provided in any form although it is listed as a “most popular facility”. The availability of a kettle/ coffee maker so that I can make something I provide is the least I expect. Both were listed as amenities but were not provided. The room looked out over an asphalt roof. The only “view” was from a bathroom window looking onto a garden. I wasn’t booking for a view so it didn’t matter to me but might matter to others. This is definitely not a beachfront property. It is within walking distance of the lake (maybe 15 min). Both the proprietor and Booking.com should make clear & be honest about what is included and what is not, what amenities are specific to the room and what is a shared facility and, if shared, what hours those facilities are available. I posed these questions before arriving & they were not clearly answered. The room was sweltering hot when we entered. It was about 93 degrees outside and the room was probably 87 degrees or warmer. We were able to get it cooled down by turning up the small air conditioning unit which made it bearable. It was probably 83 degrees after an hour or so. It never got truly cool. I think the unit was too small for the area it was trying to cool. I do not do well in heat, so I debated leaving early and forfeiting the fees just so I could find a cool and comfortable place to stay. Getting around the bed was a tight squeeze. I would never call this a “suite”. Another small room off the bed space had two chairs & a table which was all there was room for. You could not close the door between the bedroom area & sitting area because you would have no air conditioning in the sitting area or in the bathroom off of the sitting area, so if booking to have a separate room to not disturb another it doesn’t work. Check-in was a bit strange. I had emailed ahead because an odd check-in had been noted by others.

- Rachel (10/5): Very nice! - Nice spacious room, sofa and small kitchenette with little table. Full sized fridge and laundry (we did not have occasion to use it). Lovely deck and gardens! We arrived late and did not get to meet our hosts personally, but communication was easy (texting) and we received an upgrade—very nice! Would definitely stay again! The only thing was minor, but it seemed the deck was high enough that it needed either a partial rail or something at the edge like a light color border to help me feel I wasn’t going to accidentally walk off the edge. I understand that esthetically it is very nice to not have a railing but have it open. We are a little older and more afraid of falling, maybe. Otherwise, Lovely, Lovely place!
- Tracy (10/5): This vacation rental ranks as one of our top places to stay. - Upon arrival we were told we had been upgraded to this cottage and what a nice surprise. It was perfect for our stay in that it was spacious for the 2 of us. It was very clean, cozy and private since it was at the back of the property. We also had the opportunity to meet the owner Catherine and her mother, Barb. They were lovely ladies full of information on the property’s history and local area. Catherine was so accommodating when we misplaced the key. What a pleasant woman who wants to ensure her guests have a wonderful experience. We will definitely look at a future return to this property. Because the cottage was small, there was limited places to put our belongings. But we managed and made the most of the other amenities.

- Robert (9/5): Superb - Very nice old house within short walking distance to the center of town. Bed was very comfortable. We had our own suite of 3 rooms (including bathroom) with a locking door separating us from the rest of the house. Our suite had a nice large spa tub (but no shower). There was a refrigerator in the hallway outside our door stocked with bottled water. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. The neighborhood was very quiet - hardly any traffic. Overall, it was the perfect place for a quiet weekend getaway.
- Zenger (9/5): Cozy stay staying in a community member's curated inn packaged with care. - The location was incredible! Only a 5 minute walk to the "downtown" area where we grabbed Excellent dinner without needing reservations. It was a cute area to walk around. The inn was beautiful, clean, and the host was so thoughtful and kind. She had suggestions for whatever you wanted to do in the area! Absolutely would stay again. The check-in process could have had a bit more direction, but the host is always quick to answer the phone so we didn't have any actual issues. If there were more information online about the check-in expectations/process and check-out, that would've made it even easier.

- Lynn (7/5): Okay, but some improvements needed in order for us to stay here again. - The rooms were very nicely decorated and it was close to everything in town, so we were able to walk around. It was an odd experience checking in. We reserved a king room with a garden view, but when we got there, the owner noted that she did not have a king room available, and didn't even ask what our names were (we wrote it in the guest book, but I don't think it was looked at to make sure we had a reservation). It didn't seem like there was a real reservation system utilized. That could definitely use some improvement so guests get what they paid for and reserved. It seemed like anybody could come in off the street to get a room. Also, there was a political sign outside on their lawn that could definitely be off-putting to guests and probably should be avoided in the future.
- Daniel (9/5): Timeless elegance on the Finger Lakes - A grand old house separated into lovely rooms each with their own theme. Off street parking. Nicely decorated. Catherine the proprietress is a wonderful lady who was very accommodating and told us all about the history of the house and the area.

- Johanna (7/5): Cozy historic stay in central location - 18 Vine is a beautiful historic property in a perfect, walkable location. Great parking, beautiful gardens. The bathroom in particular was exceptional-- we loved the soaking tub, fluffy towels, and faux fireplace. The neighborhood is full of lovely homes and its about a 10 minute walk to the town square in Hammondsport, with lots of restaurants, stores and ATMs. Our room had no storage for clothes. There were two luggage racks (appreciated!) but nowhere to unpack. The windows don't open (would have been nice to get a little fresh air!) and there is no ventilation in the bathroom so it gets quite humid.
- Sheri (9/5): This cozy B&B is delightful. An older home with history. - Breakfast at ice cream shop was v good. Friendly staff. At the house Robert was wonderful. His knowledge of the area enabled us to more fully enjoy the home and the village. Don’t miss the Curtiss Museum just down the road. The young volunteer docent loves his job and made our tour extremely rewarding. And the history of the house is amazing. The now famous historical figures that lived there and were guests there is unbelievable, especially if you have never heard of Glen Curtiss And we hadn’t. And don’t miss the art gallery in the alley downtown. This cozy B&B was in a great location. Everything was walkable. Loved it! Thank you, Robert! Shower needed a floor mat
- Michael (9/5): My wife and I stayed for two nights and we enjoyed the location, property and host hospitality. We appreciated the atmo - Beautiful old world charm. The location was great, quite and close to town center. Excellent off street parking. Perfect stay for couples. Extremely clean and very well planned rooms for guests. Everything was great, I would just add a sign out front identifying where guests should check in. It was a little confusing at first.

- Sharon (10/5): We enjoyed our visit to Hammondsport very much and will definitely recommend it to others. - They gave us a coupon for breakfast at a very nice breakfast place a short walk away and the food was delicious. In fact, the whole town was pretty much walkable from our place and the historic town was quite beautiful. Katherine, the owner of the house, was very sweet and she shared the the history of the town and the house with us. The pool at the house was beautiful and super clean. The house and the grounds were well maintained and offered a peaceful setting. Also, the region has many fine wineries around the lake that have exceptional wines. Everything was quite nice.
- Christopher (10/5): An amazing home offering many ammenities - Incredible venue filled with charm & personality. Catherine and her mother are extremely help — and enjoyable. Simply fantastic. Very, very highly recommended. I'll be back! Frankly, I can think of nothing...the entire experience was great!
- Robert (10/5): - Great old house within an easy walk of just about everything Hammondsport has to offer. Rooms were neat and clean and quite comfortable. Plenty of room for parking and large yard with nice shade and room to relax. The hostess Catherine was very pleasant and more than willing to share her knowledge of the area. We'll be going back for sure
- NEVAN (8/5): - We had a great weekend here. Kathryn and her mom were wonderful. Please note as a result of the pandemic breakfast is not served at the property. You have to walk about 10 minutes but the breakfast it was great.
- Ken (2/5): Worst Kind of Business !!! - This hotel is the worst kind of business. Took our money and then took another reservation over us. Catherine Powell said she notified us through email. What really happened she sent an email through Hotels.com which comes through looking like an advertisement. Meanwhile I received emails from Hotels.com say our booking was garunteed on the 12th and 16th She could have called or texted but no and she had the wrong dates anyway say it wasn't available JUNE 17th, 18, 19 and 20th. My reservations were JULY 16th, 17, 18, & 19th. Then she refuses to refund our money or assist us in anyway. First she said Hotels.com has it. Then she said if she refunded the money it wouldn't be all of it because of the commission. In the end we ended up paying a lot of extra money for a place to stay and the only hotel we could find was in Geneva 45 minutes away and I still don't have a refund.

- Theresa D. (2/5): Horrible - We got there to ck in and we’re told they overbooked and they moved us to a hotel. No contact was made prior to This. Hotel was away from town and had no pool. I booked this over a month prior and the reservation was confirmed. I would not recommend.

- Devildog (10/5): - The Inn is a beautiful, converted house on a large piece of property. Because we traveled to visit friends, we didn't take advantage of some of the features such as the screen porch, furnished with beautiful wicker, or the swimming pool. Breakfast was in a traditional style and delicious. In addition, the gentleman who helped us check in (sorry, do not remember his name) gave a great overview of the attractions in the area as well as the history of the property. The room was comfortable and cool, despite the scorching heat outside.
- Dan (8/5): Charming bed and breakfast - Within walking distance to the attractions of Hammondsport and a short drive from many of the attractions and wineries, this bed and breakfast was exactly what we needed. Friendly owners, clean house and rooms, nicely decorated and landscaped, and continental style breakfast every morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): For the money, I'd make another selection - Rooms were smaller than depicted in photos and house is not located as near the Keuka Lake as implied. Breakfast provided was not anything special (bagels, yogurt, fruit, cold cereal) and included no cooked foods.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Overbooked. - Overbooked. Not happy. Sent to an inferior B&B WITHOUT a pool, and no price reduction.
- Kevin (4/5): Uncomfortable stay? - It had very good potential, had to wait 20 minutes inside before anyone checked me in. They had my reservations wrong and even though I had already paid through hotels.com the innkeeper insisted that she needed a credit card to pay even after giving a printed receipt. The B&B was set up nice but was in need of attention, the wallpaper was falling off the bathroom walls and visible cobwebs in the walls and ceilings of the bedroom. The town of Hammondsport was very nice but would not stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Girls weekend - Beautiful location for girls "bachelorette" long weekend. Stayed in Pinot Noir room which comfortably fit 3 adults. Breakfast wax continental style which featured a step above hotel fare with homemade granola, muffins, and yogurt and Koenig coffee so we could eat whenever we were ready in the morning. The hostess allowed us to store our nice road bicycles in the inside barn. We enjoyed sitting out on the screened porch in the evenings. Late check in was easily arranged. Never got a key to our room so everything was unlocked during our stay but we had no issues. Overall, nice stay.
