Guest Reviews
- Emil (10/5): Great staff and value for money - Good value for money!
Staff was very helpfull. I mos def recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location for shopping. Thank you!
- KOTA (8/5): - The service provided the stuff was so good.
- Mariona (4/5): - El personal no ayuda mucho ni proporciona información
- Joshua (10/5): Lovely clean room in Chiang Mai - Our room was very clean and comfortable with great AC and wifi. The bed was big and clean but the pillows were much too big. We could help ourselves to tea and coffee throughout the day and a nice breakfast was included. We liked being 10 minutes from the night bazaar and near the old town.
- Denise (10/5): Guesthouse near Wararot Market - This is a very nice budget guesthouse Wararot Market and the garment district. However, it is located on a quiet side street. The staff is amazing, quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast is awesome. Quite a few options, all freshly prepared and served with fresh fruit. The only thing I can say negative about this guesthouse is the stairs. Thankfully, the nice young lady helped me with my bags, because i was on the top floor (5th, I think). If your knees moan and groan like mine, you may wish to choose a different place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is very nice. Quiet and easy to sightseeing walk.
- Joung (8/5): Good stay. - Comfortable stay.
- Eng Lee (10/5): Pleasant and Enjoyable Stay - Hostel was nice, as there are many wooden furnishing. Location can be a bit hard to find for taxi driver, as it nestled within the back lane, but it is actually very near to the main road, taking a minute to reach it. Room is spacious enough with comfortable bed. Washing basin is a little bit small though. Unfortunately, my room is a 'windowless' room. There is a breakfast menu, with about 7 items to choose from, and prepared on the spot, and it was nice. The staffs are friendly and the receptionists can speak English for a proper conversation. Overall, the stay has been enjoyable, and would gladly choose Rustic Guesthouse if going to Chiang Mai again.
- Lucy (10/5): Lovely 4 night stay - Lovely stay at Rustic Guesthouse, the lady on reception was so helpful and gave us maps and booked the elephant trio for us.
The rooms are big and spacious and it’s on a good location
Would 100% recommend
- Joung (10/5): - Comfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- James (10/5): Best hotel in chiang mai. - Our stay was simply fantastic! Booked to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 6! The staff are so helpful and speak great English! They helped us with onward travel and recommendations! Would deffo stay here again!
Volveríamos a hospedarnos totalmente
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Autumn (8/5): - Breakfast was great each morning. The only downfall was the bathroom and shower. I am 5’4 and 120 pounds and could barely fit in the restroom/shower and close the door. It’s also hard for taxis to find, in a back alley way.
Staff was great, I would recommend walking to the street and taking a Tuk Tuk rather than depending on grab and taxis to find the place.
- Kate (8/5): - This hotel has nicely decorated rooms for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The area was great everything walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dislike the fact that the toilet did not flush well...
- OI YI (10/5): Excellent - Perfect stay. Lovely & helpful reception ladies, delicous breakfast, localed inside warorot market with cheap food and souvenir, walkable distance to old city & sunday market. Room is clean and quite, beside have few mosquito and ant in room somtimes, and air-condition is not cool enough in rooftop room due to overheat by 40c sunshine, overall we have a wonderful stay. Absolutely will come back next time!
- Blake J. (10/5): Fantastic - Clean, comfortable, great location - no complaints at all
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel close to everything, super friendly and helpful receptionist, lots and lots of stairs...a good cardio workout!
- Hong (6/5): - The location is just behind the main street and hotel look a bit old but the breakfast is totally excellent!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My room was at the top of 68 stairs. It was a long haul for all my luggage and my gps could never, ever find the place so I was lost coming home every night. However, breakfast was great. The staff were professional and helpful. I enjoyed it for these reasons.
- Fernando (10/5): Wonderfull staff, convenient location - The room was good, convenient location . Neighborhood is not nice but it is safe. Good breakfast and staff very efficient with good English communication skills
- Steve (6/5): OK but not great - Small guesthouse with lots of stairs so not great if you have luggage. It's also a bit noisy due to other guests using the stairs which could be heard from the room. Bathroom was very small and mattress hard. The first room we were given had no window so that was not pleasant but we were moved for the third night after twice requesting a room with a window.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Bed and Breakfast Inn - We would stay here again when we go back to ChIang Mai. Its more of a bed and breakfast inn. Breakfast is provided but not earlier than 8am. Please take note no elevator in the inn and would require to climb steep stairs to get to your room. Room is spacious for 1 adult and 2 teenagers. Ac is cold. My only complaint is the bathroom which is outdated and cramp. Location is ideal and close to anywhere you want to go. Tuktuk are everywhere and easy to hail. Slippers are provided inside the bedroom but do not use it outdoors or you'll get charged for it. (need to have signs saying so). The night shift front desk receptionist is helpful and courteous. They have laundry service and massage service and both are outsourced.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful hosts, awesome breakfast. Rooms are beautifully furnished.
Great location near the river and close to old town and the night market.
Mam dobre wspomnienia.
- Elzbieta (10/5): - Great hostel, offering quality accommodation with a real traditional Thai feel. The staff are all very attentive and super friendly. Breakfast was delicious, tea/coffe/fresh fruits avaible all day.
- denise (10/5): - Excellent location once you knew the area. Very clean rooms and very friendly staff.
- john (6/5): Near to shopping places - Hotel staff are friendly, but room conditions need to enchance, especially ventilation, toilet have foul smell all the time, floor tiles are loose, toilet are too small.
- William (10/5): Delightful! - Wonderful staff tending to a surprisingly nice facility given it’s located in what feels like a busy commercial area. Personally, I enjoy the feel of staying in locals which feel “real” but it quiets down at night and a night market is a half of block away. This is my fourth year staying at Rustic and I look forward to visiting again.
- Vesna (8/5): - Great location by the Warrot market, and very friendly staff.
- Charles (8/5): Great place - This is a wonderful little hotel. Great staff. The hotel is located in a back alley near street vendors and a quick walk will lead you to some pretty cool places.
- chuck (8/5): Quaint boutique hotel - Great value for the money. Excellent staff. Great breakfast every morning. The stairs take a bit of getting used to but that just adds to the charm of the wonderful hotel. Definitely will recommend and return.
- Stacey (10/5): Splendid! - Nice staff. Nice hotel. Good location as it's only 5 minutes to the night bazaar and 10 minutes to old town. Staff were friendly. Only downfall was there was no wardrobe or hand soap in the room which is annoying but is fine to deal with short term. I suspect if you were staying for a longer period of time this may be an issue but it wasn't for us. All in all it was a good stay for a great price and chiang mai is beautiful
- Adrian (10/5): unique hotel... - The Rustic hotel was a quaint place to stay !!! The staff were most helpful, and the breakfast was Yummy !!! The hotel is close to most things and we would stay there again. The only draw back is that there is no elevator, so you need to exercise your muscles moving luggage up and down the stairways..
- Grace (10/5): Lovely rustic guesthouse - This lovely place is about 15 min from the airport, and about a 10 minute walk from the inner section of Chiang Mai. The staff are very friendly and are happy to book taxi's and make recommendations for activities. There is also lots of written information that shows you the best places to eat and a handy card to show the taxi driver so they drop you to the right place.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. Rooms are clean and well air conditioned. Location is well secured.
Only downside is that there are 4 floors with no lifts. But overall very lovely experience.
- jen (10/5): Nice stay - Hot water, good ac, fan, clean, Comfy bed, cozy room, delicious breakfasts that are included. Wifi was spotty however. Not a difficult walk to the center. I would stay again
- Felix (10/5): Great choice - Very friendly environment. The free fruit was a great touch. I miss the bananas. The only issue is that there is no elevator. I had heavy luggage and it was a bot of pain to take them up to the room. Fortunately I was on the second floor. Having did that, I would stay there again without a question.
- chase (10/5): Highly recommended - can't say enough good things about this place... felt like the staff was always there to help you, breakfast was so good, room was clean and comfortable, location was easy walk to anywhere and tons of cheap/delicious food available at all hours of the day right outside the door.
- Amanda (8/5): Good location & good value for comfortable lodging - We stayed at the Rustic Guesthouse for 3 nights while on vacation. Welcoming, cozy place with a good hot breakfast included with our room. The most pleasant surprise was the size of our room and the bed - it seemed like a King size, which was bigger than most of the other hotels we stayed at during our trip. All guest rooms are walk-up only, so this is not a good choice if you aren't comfortable carrying your luggage up and down 2-4 flights of stairs.
The location was very quiet at night and yet an easy walk to everything in central Chiang Mai. We found it to be a great home base for our adventures around Chiang Mai at a great value.
- Thilakshan (10/5): Great budget hotel - Small, but clean and comfortable room. Staff was very helpful and cheerful. Would definitely book again.
- Nicky (10/5): Excellent choice and good value - Friendly & helpful staff. The staff were always approachable and assisted us with the sightseeing itineries. They even sent the direction map of the hotel before we arrived.good price and offered clean room/strong wifi. freshly cooked breakfast from the menu with 8 different choices. Nearby amenities were within short distant, food stalls were available from morning to late night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice bed and breakfast - The rooms are cIean and comfortable. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. recommend this hotel with only 1 reservation. If you have significant arthritis or any other condition which would prevent you from climbing stairs, you might specifically request a room on the lower floors. There is no elevator.
- Chris and Julia (10/5): Charming Guesthouse close to markets - Rustic Guesthouse was very comfortable, clean, and had nice decorative touches. Very helpful and thoughtful staff, great at organising tours and anything else you need. Great choice of breakfast menu included and free tea / coffee, fruit and snacks in the kitchen / dining area.
- Kristina (10/5): Loved it! - The location was fantastic, the staff were all super nice, friendly, and helpful over and above the requirements for their jobs. We loved it so much that after our three nights were up, we changed our plans a little so we could stay there one more night and have another day in Chiang Mai.
The only warning I have to give is that there is no elevator, and the rooms are up several flights of stairs. My mom and I are in pretty good shape and relished the extra exercise, but anyone in a wheelchair or unable to climb stairs might want to look into the sister hotel or somewhere more accessible.
- Rebecca (10/5): Best little guesthouse - Loved our stay at the rustic guesthouse, originally only booked for 3 nights but ended up extending our stay here for another 6 nights. Loved all of the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was awesome, very delicious and several different options to choose from. The rooms were perfect!!
- jake (10/5): Nice hotel within walking distance to everything - Great little guesthouse. The girls at reception were always helpful and interested in what you have done with your day.
Tours and bikes can be booked easily from reception.
The room was tidy and very comfortable. 10/10!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nick and the girls at the counter were fantastic and helpful and we love the warorot market which is so near. What I don't like is the bed has no side table which I don't know where to put my wallet/watch etc. The basin is also inside the room which can make the floor wet unless you are very careful when you are washing your hands and brushing teeth. I hope Nick would install a small basin inside bathroom so that guest need not to have to run in and out because soap dispenser is inside bathroom. I am not sure if the toilet floor has been scrub during my 7 days stay or they only do it when guest check out. Hope the hotel would look into these. Other than these the stay is fine.
- Megan (10/5): excellent place to stay - Great experience, super lovely and helpful staff, great location near local market, away from tourist area but still within walking distance to everything. Highly recommend!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great B&B / Guesthouse!!! - If you think "Bed and Breakfast" or "Hostel" or "Guesthouse" (as in the name), this place is AWESOME! Staff is super friendly, the room has A/C, and the breakfast included is actually very good (menu-based). It is stuck right in the middle of what looks like a Chinese market, but it doesn't feel unsafe. If you are looking for a western-feel hotel, look elsewhere. If you are looking for different, off-the-beaten-path, cultural, yet comfortable (western-style bed), this is a great option.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent staff...they really help you out and make you feel welcome
- Harry (10/5): Excellent Staff - Amazing friendly staff that will always help. they arranged our tours and even got up early to make us breakfast one morning. Would definitely recommend
- Kelvin (8/5): Out the way but best staff - Tiny little hotel, very reasonable for what we paid. Staff were very helpful with recommendations around Chiang Mai. Not a lot going on around the hotel itself but a tuk tuk will take you anywhere within the City for 60 baht. Tip- don't bother with the night safari, it's the most rushed excursion imaginable. The cooking course that they reccommend though is brilliant!!
- paul (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice well run hotel
- Belinda (8/5): Hidden Treasure! - Very clean and quaint guesthouse (bed and breakfast style). Staff was incredibly attentive and polite. Breakfast was absolutely delicous and the location was less than 15 minutes walking to major sights and just 3mins from a major shopping road. LOVED MY STAY here! If you don't care about luxury room decor or bathrooms and just want comfort, convenience, and care, this is perfect!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cute guesthouse, near market - Great value for the price. Felt clean and safe. Pretty friendly staff. While it's definitely easy to get lost finding the place, it's definitely not in a bad location.
- YIN (6/5): good location, but room is too small. - The room we got is on the top floor, very small, no window, the outer wall is next to the building's water tank, you can hear a lot of noise. the guestroom has not lift, you need to carry all your belongs to the top floor. The wifi is good, the breakfast are OK. the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is near to one of the biggest market, so plenty of fruits and street food nearby.
- Alexey (8/5): Great stay at Rustic guesthouse - It was a great stay at rustic guesthause. Great value for money. Very authentic atmosphere in the middle of local market. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was tasty!
- Sarah (10/5): Little gem of a Guest house! - Myself and my friend stayed here for 3 nights when we visited Chiang Mai. The location of the guesthouse is very close to the night bazaar and only a 10min walk to the old city so it was perfectly situated for our trip. The staff in the guesthouse were absolutely brilliant-so friendly, always chatting and giving helpful advise and they were able to book all of our day trips for us directly. The guesthouse itself felt very homely so were very comfortable during our stay. If I were to visit again I would stay again and for longer if I could!
