• Townsend (8/5): A slice of paradise but some room for improvement - Overall a really great hotel - lovely rooms, generally very nice staff, good food. For the best beach, walk over to the beach on the opposite side of the island (takes about 15 mins) and from there take a <5 minute water taxi to Romantic Beach. On our first night there was an infestation of flying ants in our room. It was resolved within the hour by the night time maintenance team but management (who were aware of the issue) never enquired to ask if everything was ok or offered anything as a gesture of goodwill in exchange for our discomfort. There are a lot of boats going in and out of the beach in front of the hotel. The fuel smell is sometimes overpowering, including in the evenings at dinner if you’re eating in the hotel restaurant. Also, occasionally (maybe every 6-8 hours) there is a really loud bang that sounds like a gunshot. We never worked out what it was. We organised a snorkelling tour through the hotel. It was great but we later discovered that you could book them from providers on the beach for a fraction of the price.

BuBu Villa est pour moi sans doute le meilleur lieu où séjourner sur les îles Perhentian à fortiori à Long Beach pour un séjour détente en couple, en famille ou entre ami(e)s. Mention particulière à Hakiem qui a su rendre notre séjour encore plus merveilleux.

The hotel is perfectly located right on the beach, with stunning turquoise waters stretching as far as the eye can see. We arrived several hours before the official check-in time, but the lovely Emma at reception kindly gave us our room keys as soon as our villa was ready. We stayed in a Garden Villa, complete with a private enclosed garden and an incredible outdoor shower — such a treat! The room itself was spacious and airy, with a large, extremely comfortable bed. The grounds were beautifully maintained by a dedicated team of staff, all of whom greeted us with warm smiles throughout our stay. A special mention to our friendly waiter, Haquim, who made sure we received our complimentary cocktails every afternoon. And we can’t forget the talented chef, Waqar, who prepared the most delicious breakfasts for us each morning (will be dreaming of the pancakes). BuBu Villas have a very land back vibe to it, nothing posh or over the top, just bare feet and sandy toes. We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. Yes, it’s on the pricier side — but absolutely worth every penny if you are looking for total relaxation in stunning surroundings. A bit of boat traffic.

We’d gladly return again. - My husband, daughter, and I had a wonderful holiday at Bubu Villa in Perhentian Island. From the moment we arrived, the place felt magical—surrounded by lush greenery, it was like stepping into a peaceful tropical paradise. We were especially impressed by our spacious and spotless room, which provided plenty of comfort and relaxation throughout our stay. The environment was serene and beautifully maintained, perfect for a family escape. Breakfast each morning was a delight. The chef deserves a special mention—not only was the food delicious, but his service was truly top-notch. All the staff were friendly, warm, and always ready to help, making us feel right at home. One thing to note, it’s that the rooms don’t come with a TV or a phone. So, for any requests, we had to walk over to the reception. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but it’s something to be aware of.

• Ana (10/5): Atrapados en el paraiso durante unos días - ¿Qué decir de Bubu villa? Sólo tengo cosas positivas para decir, es un gran lugar, las habitaciones son espaciosas y comodas, tienen aire acondicionado y ventilador. El armario grande para dos personas. La cama super grande!! y muy cómoda! hay ducha afuera (para quitarte los restos de sal y arena de la playa antes de entrar en la habitacion) tambien tienes un grifo para lavarte los pies si solo quieres eso. Con grandes cristaleras que te da la sensación de estar en medio de la naturaleza. La comida es genial, el desayuno esta incluido y tiene de todo! Las cosas deliciosas salen de la cocina. te hacen algunos platos a petición del huesped, nosotros pedimos cada día huevos benedict con salmon (estupendos!!) y pancakes. En cuanto a comidas y cenas estas no nos entraban en nuestra reserva, la comida igual es más cara que en otros restaurantes pero la comida es exquisita!!! Tienen barbacoa de pescado, deliciosa. Tienen también servicio de spa, juegos de mesa, y para niños tienen tambien juegos (cubos y palas) para jugar jugar en la arena. Lo tienen todo pensado. Han sido unos grandes 4 días en su hotel, el staff ha sido muy amable y nos han tratado genial. nos gustaría quedarnos aquí para siempre :) esperamos volver! --

La extendimos. La recepcionista nos ayudo con una reserva en la otra isla y el cocinero en el desayuno nos venía a preguntar si estaba todo ok. La habitación muy cómoda, la playa muy linda. Hay toallas de playa y reposeras. Servicio a la playa. El restaurant está muy bien. Todo de diez! -

• Magnus (10/5): Tropical paradise escape in full comfort - Bubu Villa provided the perfect base for our tropical paradise escape in the Perhentians. The food was so good we came back every lunch and dinner even though other options on the island also looked great. The snorkelling excursions matched the offer from other providers but it was practical to have everything organised for us and billed at checkout, and the guides were friendly and informative. The accommodation was super comfortable, air conditioned and clean. The spa treatments were a lovely bonus! Being part of the family friendly long beach community was great, in order to not feel so isolated and exclusive, and provide access to fire shows, shops, bars and restaurants along the beach, without it ever becoming noisy or rowdy. The entirety of the lovely staff were always friendly, helpful and chatty, making our stay exceptionally great.

Tout était absolument magnifique : l’emplacement idéal, la propreté irréprochable, la qualité de la nourriture et surtout, le personnel d’une gentillesse et d’un respect exceptionnels. La nourriture est un peu chère, mais elle en vaut largement la peine tant elle est délicieuse. Je n’oublierai jamais mon séjour dans cet établissement. Merci pour cette belle expérience ! • Della Mura (9/5): - Ottimo resort, pulito e accogliente. Camere belle e curare con giardino privato. Colazione fronte mare. Situato alla fine di long beach quindi fuori dal caos. Una nota di merito al cuoco Waka che garantiva per dei piatti ottimi. Lo staff dovrebbe avvisare che dal molo al resort bisogna attraversare tutta la spiaggia e quindi offrire un servizio boat all'arrivo degli ospiti. Se non lo si sa, si attraversa la spiaggia con le valigie e non è proprio agevole.

• Corinne (10/5): Perfektes Strandhotel - Alles ! Die Hotelanlage ist klein und liegt direkt am wunderschönen Sandstrand. Die Bungalows sind im hinteren Teil der Anlage im Garten verteilt und die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist phänomenal. Es hat alles was man braucht. Wir hatten ein Familienbungalow mit 2 Schlafzimmern und einem Aussenbad. Es war super schön und sauber. Das Hotel verfügt über ein hervorragendes Restaurant mit einer super Speisekarte und einer grossen Weinkarte. Das Essen war jedes Mal vorzüglich. Es gibt absolut nichts auszusetzen. Wir hatten einen wundervollen Urlaub und möchten ganz herzlich dem Personal danken für den tollen Service. NICHTS !!!

Le personnel est très professionnel, discret, arrangeant, attentionné… La cuisine est exceptionnelle, autant pour le petit déjeuner que le dinner ! Mention spéciale pour Carla, Nasir et Augustin avec qui nous avons eut le plus de contacts pendant ces trois jours mais aussi aux autres anonyme qui ont fait de ce séjour un moment exceptionnel. Nous avons aussi pris l’option massage en couple (2 heures) qui était grandiose. Et pour terminer, nous avons pris un dinner aux chandelles sur la plage qui était très romantique et tout autant exceptionnel. Le prix est assez excessif.

Front office French ladies not smiling at all, maybe because we are Asian not European, only 2 service staff they is very attentive , one european guy and one Chinese ladies intern student. And breakfast chef always smiling and cook nice food Dinner : We order burger, spagheti and risotto, all 3 of this is salty, we never waste our food unfortunately due to health we decide not to finish the food. We still pay for that food but give the feedback to the staff. During breakfast, on 6/8 we order 2 ice latte but they never serve us.,

Way too expensive for what you get. No great value for money. Dinner super expensive compared to other places around.

• Gabriele (9/5): Resort all'insegna del relax - La beach villa si presenta con spazi molto ampi, il bagno come da foto è all'aperto sia doccia, che vasca, che wc. Resort praticamente sul mare. Lo staff tutto super gentile, ci ha colpito particolaremente il cuoco, che ha lavorato anche con chef italiani, sempre molto disponibile alle nostre richieste. Colazione molto buona. Il bagno esterno poteva essere pulito meglio trovandosi all'esterno, grosso problema le zanzare in camera appena lasciavi una porta aperta, ci è dispiaciuto non poter provare la spa in quanto era già chiusa. Prezzo un po altino considerando che sull'isola si trovano altri resort leggermente più spartani ma con molta differenza di prezzo.
• Júlia (10/5): Muy recomendable - Hotel limpio, bien situado. Personal súper agradable. Desayuno increíble, recomiendo muchísimo los huevos benedict, el cocinero un 10. Una noche la hicimos en el restaurante del hotel y fue muy buena también. Buen descanso, realmente no se escucha nada de fuera. A la vuelta, nos llevaron las maletas hasta el embarcadero donde salía el ferri, un gran detalle. No nos gustó que al llegar no nos explicaran ciertas cosas del funcionamiento, como que daban toallas de playa diarias. Las pedimos porque todo el mundo tenía unas y acabamos preguntando. Luego supimos que había también un cóctel gratuito por la tarde, pero fue casualidad enterarnos. Nada importante realmente. Si que añadiría que aunque hemos estado muy a gusto y el hotel está cuidado y es agradable, el precio sigue pareciéndome excesivo para lo que es. Aún así, repetiríamos la experiencia.

• Fadi (10/5): Service et cuisine au top - Tout est parfait. La chambre villa avec le jardin, lit confortable, airco qui rafraîchit bien. Le nettoyage de chambre quotidien, tout le monde est au petit soin. Le restaurant est situé en face de la plage donc superbe vue. Je tiens aussi à féliciter le chef cuisiner Waqar pour ses délicieux plats et le superbe petit déjeuner qu’il propose avec son équipe et aussi pour son service, le seul cuisinier qui se déplace à votre table pour vous demandez si vous voulez quelque chose d’autre ou vous resservir, merci pour tout ! Il y a également un cocktail offert entre 16h et 18h pour le happy hour.. Tout était parfait
