Guest Reviews
- mauro (10/5): Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo - Posizione ottima, a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro e dal night market. Camera molto spaziosa e pulitissima. Pulizie giornaliere. Personale gentile e disponibile. Consigliato.
- Thierry (10/5): - Hôtel très bien. Propre et confortable. Personnel très professionnel et gentil. Bonne nourriture et bien situé. Je recommande...
- Sebastian (10/5): - Great stay and service
- tugba (4/5): Odalar çok rutubetli - Bu otelde yeni yılda 4 gece kaldık.
Odamız bakımsız ve rutubet kokuluydu. 2.
- Andrew (8/5): - The check in process was relatively easy it’s walking distance from the pier about 500 meters the room was clean the aircon was cold there is free tea and coffee available in the foyer a kettle in the room would be more convenient but I was happy with my stay here
- yoann (2/5): Plus jamais...
- Ivan (6/5): - Very close to Thong Sala. I was given the last room on the side of the mangrove so far from the noisy road as requested which is a good thing. Nice little swimming pool but unfortunately used by local kids playing loud. The problem of this property is that you hear everything from the other rooms. I had noisy neighboours above moving chairs, slamming door all night long... was a nightmare for sleeping.
- Felix (10/5): Amazing stay. Can’t ask for more. - Great staff!
Great location close to Panthip Market with amazing and cheap food.
Amazing cleaning service everyday.
Cheap motorcycle rental through hotel.
Great and cheap laundry and ferry transportation via hotel
All in all, 10/10
- Marko (10/5): - alles super, hat sich gelohnt
- Liam (2/5): very low quality - So me and my son have been travelling Thailand for 4 weeks now and stayed in various properties. This was in a poor condition, dirty walls, loads of little flies in the room, air conditioning not working properly, and then this morning when we woke up loads of condensation in the walls. The bathroom smelt of urine. Would not stay here again.
- SEISHI (10/5): - Perfect ! Very Quiet Just Short Walk to Market & pire but everyone goto night out so offcours you need moter bike.
Especially This Soi & Pier Soi crossing there are Lots of Goodie like Bar ,Bank,7/11, Massage,20 bath shop, Cafe And Food Market everything 😊😁
- Robs2ndattempt (2/5): Annoying deposit scam - I had a quite reasonable stay here for 1 night and would have stayed another night if I wasn't leaving the island. HOWEVER, a deposit is taken on check in and assurances are given about it being returned. When I handed my key in on departure I had forgotten about the deposit, and was thrown somewhat because the lady who runs the place, seemed to be hiding in the room at the back of reception when I came to return my key, so I just left the key and walked out without saying goodbye. I realised that night (by when I was already on Koh Samui) that I had left my shoes outside the hotel when leaving, and I had to return to the island from Koh Samui at a cost of 1500 (and most of a day), to pick them up again. I actually believe that the reason I left them there was because of the strange lack of a goodbye throwing me out of my stride. Anyway, I have just remembered about the deposit, which seems to me clearly to explain what happened when I left and the lady seeming to hide when I checked out. Even when I returned to collect my shoes, there was no mention of the left deposit (which the lady must have been aware of). There are comments on Agoda about valuables going missing etc at this place, and it doesn't surprise me. I can't remember how much the deposit was, but I probably got away relatively lucky.
- J4939HJmichaelp (8/5): An excellent choice for budget travelers - Spent a couple of nights here on my resent Ko Pha Ngan trip because it is close to the ferry pier, bars, restaurants, and convenience stores. Yet, it sits back from a quiet stretch of road and is very peaceful.
The rooms are pretty typical for Thai budget hotels: sparsely appointed but comfortable enough for a night or two. The hot water and air conditioning was okay. There is sufficient parking for those who self-drive.
Normally I would give a property like this three out of five, solely based on the quality of the room. However, the property has a pool and the gal that runs the property was really friendly and helpful.
At a walk-in rate of 550 THB, this is an excellent choice for budget travelers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): So much potential, but can't recommend. - PROS - The hotel is a great location for people who don’t care about the full moon party - walking distance to the pier and the night market with super delicious and cheap eats. You can also walk the other direction for great sunset views and if your lucky even find secret beach. The pool area is on a river and really nice (although the wooden bridges overlooking the rivers are rotting and unstable.
CONS
The staff were friendly but the hotel is a bit run down. The internet doesn’t work outside the lobby - they moved us rooms (from double to twin) to a room with “better wifi” but they should just advertise it as lobby-wifi only as we never got it to work. The beds need to be replaced - they are very uncomfortable. In the double they were better, but one of the twin beds was so old and hard - you could literally feel the springs. We regretted moving rooms. The TV in the twin room also didn’t work which was frustrating: my bf was feeling sick both days we were here, so spent a lot of time in the room, which was wifi/TV less and had terribly uncomfortable bedding. The only time we tried to order from the hotel restaurant they said they didn’t have food and sent me into town to get something.
Overall, if you don’t care about wifi/tv and aren’t a picky person with hard beds, the pool, location and staff were great! However, I can't recommend it as I would not stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfy bed close to the pier - Nice room. Air con. Close to Thong Sala Pier and night market.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet and very close to market and ferry terminal! - Great stay! Far more quieter than other hotels. Close to night markets and certainly plenty of beer in the reception beer fridge! Hotel manager was a great host she gave us free breakfast and laundry never smelt so good and clean!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I chose this hotel over others due to a few things which included location, laundry services and wifi availability. They provided a wifi connection to me and advised it will not connect in my room. Which made the wifi useless.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Had a Good experience of this place it was nice and clean and stuff was friendly good breakfast
In unmittelbarer Nähe unzählige Restaurants etc.
- TOR (2/5): THEY ARE USING WELL WATER (UNTREATED)
- Stayed here on my last night in Koh Phangan because I had to take the ferry early morning and this hotel is not too far from the pier.
the hotel is just ok. the pool was full of tree leaves and no one was there.
the location is 5 minutes walk from the center. the BIG problem was the water from the shower.
when i turned on the water it looked yellowish green. I wasn't sure if it was the dim light effect or me so I got out without taking a shower and poured the water into a glass and sure enough it was yellowish green and smelled fishy. looks like they are using well water without any filtration.
i told the guy at the front desk but he didn't care. after several weeks traveling in Thailand, I became accustomed to the fact that no one understands you or tries to. I had few days left and I was already tired of how they treated tourist as walking money bills.
- Raymond (10/5): - Really good value for money and staff are excellent
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic - Perfect little stay in koh phangan if you're on the move a lot. Good location on the island, middle distance from just about everything and close to the food market. Hotel rooms was perfect for the price. Clean and modern. The breakfast was decent and a nice touch to our stay. The pool could do with a little bit of TLC, but still quite nice. Would recommend if you want a break from hostels or you like spending your days exploring and generally not spending time in hotel.
- SEAN J (8/5): Nice little hotel - The hotel was clean and comfortable (particularly in comparison to many other places on Ko Phangan), and very convenient to the ferry if you need to catch an early morning boat. The on-site restaurant was good and was very cheap. The only issue was that the WiFi didn’t work in the room, I had to go down to reception to get coverage.
- Nick (6/5): - Stayed for a 3 nights in October 2017. Room was tidy but didn't feel exceptionally clean. Free breakfast was convenient and acceptable. Laundry service was helpful. Not bad for a budget accomodation. Didn't get a chance to use the pool.
- Sydney (10/5): Happy - Only stayed one night, but pleased with the experience overall.
- andywY6771JN (8/5): Great pit-stop - We were staying on the other side of the island and left one night early to come to this hotel. We only stayed 1 night as we wanted to experience more of the nightlife and I'm glad we did. It's a 5 minute walk to both the ferry port and the main nightlife so it's in an ideal location as you can sleep in peace. Air conditioned rooms were great, a good size and nice and clean. The lady on reception is very accommodating and polite and we enjoyed the food we had at the hotel restaurant. This hotel did exactly what we needed and we had great service.
- ezuczek (8/5): Good value for money - We stayed in the hotel twice. Nice big rooms, clean. We had small problem with shower but they fixed it straight away. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We loved this place. If we travel to Koh Phangan we will defo stay in this hotel again.
- lisa (2/5): Cockroaches! - This room was less than desirable. The female staff were friendly but the male staff had no time for us. Our room had cockroaches, the shower was awful, the bed was rock hard and the sheets didn't fit.
The pool and Deck were in terrible shape. My partner and I almost fell through the deck. The pool does NOT look like the picture. Do not stay here.
- Karla1985 (2/5): Stay away - Horrible place horrible wifi and very hard bed and pillow!! Please look for other hotels nearby theres a lot better than this one. Thank god we only stay for one night!! Service is average also, we asked for laundry and didn't help us.
- Loerssilaeinen (6/5): Place is falling apart - The hotel might have been really good when new, but now it's falling apart, because lack of maintance.
Staff is really nice and friendly.
We also rented a bike from them but had to change first couple we got. Third one was ok.
All n all you get what you payd for and can't expect luxory with these prices.
- Trevor (10/5): Great Hotel! - Great Hotel, awesome staff, amazing pool, walk to ferry pier, easy taxi to haad rin for night life, very close to night market for great eats!
Oh... And breakfast included which was a nice surprise!
Would definitely stay here again!
- mariebC7023EW (8/5): A good value for money - This place is really good value for money. We got included breakfast without it being in our booking. That's definitely a first. The people working here is always smiling and kind. We rented a bike from them and after changing twice we were more than satisfied, no problems at all with us wanting to change. The wifi is not the best I encountered in Asia but far from the worst.
Jedoch empfehlenswert!
- 507bethane (8/5): Friendly staff and good location - We stayed here for two nights during the flooding in koh phangan! The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They still managed to serve breakfast even though the restaurant was flooded and dropped us to the pier free of charge.
The room was clean and a nice size.
The only downside was that the water was not very hot (which would have been nice during the bad weather) and the breakfast is very basic.
I would stay here again and it is worth the money !
- buildingtheark (8/5): Ticks all the boxes... just about - I stayed at Baan Busaba for 2 days while i was in Koh Pha Ngan for the full moon party, and I cannot really complain about the place. I had all the basic requirements - fridge, AC etc, but Wifi was available only closer to the reception.
The place is just walking distance from the ferry point where boats end and start in the island, and even less of a walk to the city centre- Thongsala. You could take a tuk-tuk taxi to most places you want to go to in the island from Thongsala, so it is a very convenient place location-wise and food-wise - the centre has a market with a large number of stalls offering street food of almost every kind you can find in the country (rice, noodles, pad thai, pan cakes, juices, fried and roasted meat or shrimps, pizzas, burgers, shawarmas, kebabs... i could just go on and on).
Anyway, a good place to stay if you are looking for a convenient place with basic facilities without paying too much; the most happening parts of the island are a few km away though (about 10km) so not the best location for people who want to party all along or want to be on the beach - a tuk tuk ride is not that long or expensive though.
- modamilan (8/5): Good hotel - the hotel is quiet and clean
the staff was kind and friendly
the break fast was awesome
it's near from Thong Sala
it's a very relaxing hotel
small swimming pool but nice
Rooms are big enough
Breakfast was not bad too.
- 689fritzk (4/5): Cockroaches; Smelly Bathroom; Walking distance from pier; Dirty pool area - Profile
- BF&GF, 2 students, 20 \ 21 years old
- 500-1500 budget for accommodation
Details of stay
- 1 night, 950 Baht, September 2016
- Temporary stop-off to catch early ferry
Pros
- 10 minute walk to pier
- 5 minute walk to the night market
- With air-con & wifi (not very good in room 16)
- Competitive price
Cons
- 3 cockroaches found in the room
- Bathroom had a strange sewage smell
- Shower curtain mouldy
- Pool area also had a sewage smell
- Pool was pretty cold and dirty
- Flickering light in the room
Overall
- Tolerable for 1 night but not longer
- Better hotels available on the island (e.g. Longtail Resort)
- Would not return except for the purpose of catching the early ferry
- 867suziek (6/5): Quite little hideaway - Took a bit of effort to find the resort first off because we looked up the map on Tripso and it does not match. Eventually found it thanks to a local sending us in the right direction or we would never have found it. Need transport for getting around as you are in the middle of nowhere. Tucked right st the back, in the jungle, of Ao Nang. They offer transport to the beach but at night you need to pay.
The resort itself is nice, clean and after a bit of warming up the staff can be friendly. I would especially praise the man who works in the restaurant. He works long shifts and always smiling.
The bungalows are basic but comfy beds. The shower room was very dated and looked grubby but just old. It is the jungle so there are creatures around. We came back to a frog one night, giant spider another and ghekko all setting up camp in our room.
The pool is nice for cooling down. Small so not much of a swim but cools you down when you need it. Limited beds so need to be quick.
Breakfast was not bad too. No complaints there.
My only grievance was the location being so far out and the map being incorrect for finding the place. Other then that it is decent quiet relaxing place. So king as you don't mind being in bungalow with the suicide tree outside your door.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not bad - I was there one night as a stop gap, nice and cheap but you can see why when you get there. Would be great for the money if a couple of things were improved on, for example my room door didn't lock at all, and the bathroom didn't come with soap (although it did have shampoo and shower gel). All in all not a disaster but not amazing. But the staff were lovely and friendly though and was near the pier which is all I needed.
- Jakub Vodárek (10/5): EPIC! - Best Island in whole Thailand, no doubt!!! Hotel is top for price, i recomend you this place!!! Baan busaba, see you next year :-*
- Advisorkev (8/5): Nice sleepy hotel! - I really liked this hotel. It's a short walk from Thong Sala pier, on a sleepy road in the village of Thong Sala. Haad Rin beach (Full Moon Party) is only 15/20 minutes away by Tuk Tuk and there's plenty of them around.
Rooms are clean and big enough. Hotel grounds are in good condition and the breakfast is edible! The staff on reception are great, very helpful! I'd stay here again..
- Shimrit (8/5): Nice hotel :) - Really nice hotel, at a quitter part of the island, but still, close to bars, restaurants and seven eleven.
Welcoming staff!
The room is pretty basic, big with tv and air con.
Nice pool!
A few minutes walk raja fairy peer.
Only stayed for one night, so I can't give a more expanded review:)
Important info:
At first they couldn't find my reservation, so when you get there, say that you booked through expedia :) (luckily i knew that from a guy a met a week before).
- gene (4/5): Poor Wi-Fi - very poor wi-fi
- leslie (10/5): highly reccomend - we had an excellent time really like the hotel a lot with great helpful staff very clean and for us the location was perfect
- Hhhhhhhhhhhhm (2/5): Never again - This hotel is a joke. I have never been accused of so much wrong doing because the senior staff cannot admit they made a mistake. After leaving room key in the reception for safe keeping I return next morning to be told I had
1: not handed it in
2: handed it in but took it back straight away
3:came back during night and took key
4: had a party in room
5:cleaners found condoms on floor
Then when they eventually find key they act as if nothing happened when all valuables and passport in my room could of been taken and they had no idea they had given our key to other people who we did not know.
And no apologies until other guests who had heard what happened said it was the least they could do.
So if you want to be accused of lying/ not knowing what your doing this is the place to stay
- tonyk141 (2/5): Terrible people - Where do I start. These people were not nice at all , we stayed in many hotels in thiland on our travels and this one was the only real problem. Left for full moon party at 8 o'clock , left both room keys at reception . Returned at 10 am following morning first they said we never handed in room key then they said we did but took it back . Then said one of us returned late at night and took it. Then they kept calling the room saying the cleaners had found condoms in the room and then would hang up on us, kept our cool until the nasty calls. Finally they find the key, as they had handed it over to the wrong room . So for 2 days anyone could have walked into our room and cleaned us out. It took another guest to tell them to apologize for the mistake. We accepted it and shook hands on it. Then to add a bit more insult we arrive down 5 mins late for breakfast on the following morning and they refuse us even after all the problems. Oh and one more thing nice pool pity about the swamp literally right next to it. Never written a review before but these guys deserve it.
- Bug1986 (8/5): Good place to stay - Definitely worth the money. Rooms and toilets are clean and spacious. The restaurant is not great. Very few choices available. There is breakfast included in the package. Location wise its far from Haad Rin beach where the full moon party is. But overall its a definite option.
- gr87_13 (10/5): Very nice - Good location, just a short walk (maybe 5 minutes) to Thong sala, very close to the pier and lots of restaurants.
The room was nice, very clean, nice bathroom. Was pretty quiet at night except for one night where some drunken english idiot was banging on the bedroom doors but thats not exactly the hotels fault.
The food in the restaurant was pretty good, the owner recommended the mussaman beef curry (absolutely beautiful). The breakfast was ok
Definately recommend this place
- monikar2014 (6/5): Good value for money - We stayed over the new year. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite.
Breakfast is okay, you get a choice and it's part of the price which came to us as a surprise.
The shower in the room was okay but you had to keep swapping from hot to cold. My husband took to running a bath which did take some time.
Sheets and towels were clean and acceptable
There is no view but it's close to Thongsala pier. It's gods value for money as some people we met paid more and were left with very basic rooms.
Swimming pool is covered by trees so a small part around the pool will give you an area to sunbathe. Pool was clean and we were happy to take a swim and cool down from the hot sun.
- link_za (8/5): Wrong location, otherwise excellent. - This place was excellent!!
Staff were super friendly and the room was basic but comfortable.
Had all the amenities one would need (fridge, seperate shower from toilet, aircon, restaurant, swimming pool)
As in the subject, the location was very good if you want to be located near thong sala pier, but very far from Haad Rin. If you are going to stay here and want to spend time in Haad rin I suggest bikes or a jeep but the roads to haad rin are quite treacherous even while sober!!
Overall this place checks all the boxes but reception isnt 24 hrs, wifi doesn't go all the way to the rooms - hence the 4/5 rating
Would stay here again!
- kathrineo898 (8/5): A fine hotel - The hotel was good and the staff very friendly and helpfull. The rooms were clean and the pool fine. But if you stay here, rent a scooter and og drive around the Island! Thong Sala isn't special......
