The wheelchair accessible room was perfect for me and my 8 year old - everything was at his height. Pool looked bigger, and wasnt very warm. Washing machines were down. Wish I had booked the Oceanside view.

The breakfast was good, sometimes cold, eggs were really good, I would have liked to see more bacon. The room was very large with full fridge, stove top, toaster, coffee maker, pots, utensils ect. this room had pretty much anything you would need for a longer stay. The location was perfect. It was walking distance to the waterfront and all restaurants. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming. If you needed anything there was a text line that you could use to request anything for your room. Nothing, This place was a great stay for a great price. Thank you!!

We could see the Citadel from our room and the firing of the noon hour cannon could be heard and felt in our room. No issues with the property.

The kitchen has dishes, wine glasses etc which is great for take out meals! Great location to walk downtown. Wonderful hot breakfast with lots of options included. Room I checked in using the Hilton app was not ready when I came in a 3:30. This caused further delays and I was moved into another room. Thankfully it was an upgrade.

We always feel at home as soon as we enter, especially as the staff are so friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the hotel is ideally located in downtown Halifax and central to restaurants, shopping, museums, etc. What really sets Homewood Suites apart though is the morning breakfast. There’s a huge selection of delicious food made with quality ingredients and what I appreciate is the fact that there’s healthy options available. Karen, who often staffs the dining area; ensures that the buffet station never runs low, is attentive and quick to take away empty plates; even though it’s not expected and her big friendly Nfld. personality is always welcoming and fun.

We always choose to stay at properties belonging to the Hilton group as they have always provided us with the best experience. Hedy from the front desk has been a delight. We have met her a few times now at Homewood and she has been nothing but amazing. Always helpful, good listener and great with kids. We will be visiting again and again and for sure again.

Originally being from Halifax, the staff always bring that warm east coast hospitality that never goes unnoticed, and that I miss so much. The hotel and rooms are incredibly clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The views from most rooms have a great view, whether it be of the harbour, Citadel Hill, or the Halifax skyline. Complimentary breakfast is included with your stay, and there is something for everyone to enjoy. The hotel is within walking distance to literally everything, the location is perfect!

I' not often impressed with hotel breakfast food quality at Canadian hotels and was pleasantly surprised how good this was.

It is amazing, the rooms are very spacious they have amazing views of the Halifax citadel the rooms are very quiet and you get underground parking with the room. There are a lot of things to choose from in the breakfast and the dining room is HUGE. If I remember correctly there is a pool but I didn't go to it. Even thought I did not go to the pool I bet it was amazing considering how everything els is amazing. The hotel isn't too luxurious but it still feels like your in a luxury hotel.

We had views of the harbour from our room, and loved when we walked to the elevator we had great views of the Citadel. It is a downhill walk to the water, and the hills are steep so coming home at the end of the night was a lot, but not difficult. Hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful. They always asked at breakfast if we needed anything for our room. I didn’t realize when I booked that breakfast was included so that was a nice surprise. Everything was clean. Housekeeping is every second day which is great. Having a kitchen to keep a few basic items was very handy for a long trip. We stayed a week here and it was lovely. Would prioritize this hotel if we return.

- reluctant33 (10/5): Nova Scotia - My wife and I just returned from a two week trip to Nova Scotia. We flew from BWI to Boston Logan and then to Halifax. We started in Halifax and then drove to Baddeck, around the Cabot Trail, visited Cheticamp, stayed in Truro one night, moved on to Peggys Cove and Lununburg, and finally Annapolis Royale. First, I want to especially thank Maryann and Michelle for all their help in planning this trip. Couldn't have done this without their valuable input. And although I will mention a few individuals that we encountered in our trip, my wife and I in all our travels have never met so many friendly and caring people than we encountered in Nova Scotia!! Halifax: Stayed at the Halifax Tower Hotel on arrival and on the last day of our trip. This is a very nice hotel with a very good breakfast included. The young people at the front desk namely Maria, Princess and Gerry were always there to "patiently" provide answers to all our questions about Halifax.:-) We ate at the Bicycle Thief in downtown Halifax on the water front and was one of our best meals on the trip. The lobster roll was outstanding!! We then drove to Baddeck and stayed at the Waters Edge Inn. Nice room, good food and a good base for that area. Vicki, the manager, and Grace, one of the waitresses there were wonderful. We attended the Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs three nights in a row and this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip listening to the wonderful music at the St.Michaels Parish close by. Strongly recommend calling ahead of time to reserve seats for the performances. The person to talk to is John who manages the Ceilidh every night from early June to October. Great guy!! We then drove the Cabot trail in two separate drives. One from Baddeck to Neil's Harbor on the east side and then crossing over on the west coast and driving from our B&B namely Yellow Side Car B&B in Cap Le Moine almost to Neil's Harbor to complete the trail. Since most of trails were closed due to fire warnings, we didn't get to do any of the wonderful hikes that are mentioned on other trip reports.:-( We decided to shorten our stay at the Yellow Sidecar B&B only to overnight since we were somewhat disappointed by what we read on TA and what we experienced concerning the harbor and surrounding area. But the B&B was very clean and comfortable and it really was nice to get to know the owners, Brenda and Roger who couldn't have been any nicer!! Our next stop would have been Peggys Cove but decided to stay overnight in Truro at a very nice Best Western since the drive to Peggy's Cove from Cap Le Moine would have been slightly more than five hours. Turns out that we had one of our best meals on the trip in Truro at Murphys Fish and Chips. Very friendly place and busy. The next morning, we got an early start to Peggy's Cove and arrived just after 9 AM. We had enough time before the buses arrived to take some wonderful photographs of the lighthouse there. But it didn't take long before the buses began to arrive and by 10:30 AM, it got very busy. So, arriving as early as possible in the morning is key to capture some wonderful pictures before the crowd arrives. The bagpipe person named George and a singer named Audrey were great to listen to and talk to. From Peggy's Cove we drove to Lununburg and stayed at the Rumrunners Inn. We stopped by Mahone Bay but there was so much construction going on downtown that we decided to continue on to Lununburg instead. The Rumrunners Inn was a very nice inn owned by Tim. The receptionist was Aiden and both were very good in providing things to do and places to eat. For us, the best restaurant was Knot's Pub which also was a favorite of the locals. Had a chance to see the Bluenose II in the harbor which was beautiful!! Finally, drove to Annapolis Royale and stayed at the Queen Anne Inn. A beautiful Inn with the owners Kate and Lazlo not only being very nice and interesting but providing the best breakfasts on our entire trip!! Anyhow, there are.so many other things/people that I could go on and on but I wanted to keep this report as brief as possible. So if there are any questions, please feel free to ask GPS

- ToSquareBob1 (10/5): Great Hotel - One Issue - We stayed here for three nights while in Halifax. There were five of us so we had a two bedroom suite. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, and one had a king size bed, the other two queens: perfect for us. There was also a kitchen (no oven though) and a small living room. It was not inexpensive, but comparable to an AirBnB (at least in our searching) that was downtown and included parking. We had no issues with parking but there seems to be cars parked everywhere later at night, so I wonder if there are enough spots. The hotel is very clean and nice. Our room was huge, clean and very bright with both bedrooms have many windows: both were on the corner of the building. We found it to be very quiet and everything (wifi, tv, hot water) worked well. Location is great as well, downtown and maybe a 10 minute walk to the boardwalk. One area of concern. As the previous reviewer mentioned, we also saw a mouse running around the breakfast area one morning: turned us off having the complementary breakfast! Upon telling the young lady at the front desk about the mouse, her response was "did you actually see it". Not sure how to take that: we wouldn't have said anything if we didn't see it. Anyway, hopefully they have that issue under control. If so, this is a great place to stay in Halifax.

Teilweise schwer verständliches Englisch des Receptionspersobal Wir stellten erst beim Checkout fest, das ungefragt und ohne Information ein besseres Zimmer verrechnet wurde. Gleichzeitig wurde beim Check-Inn die Kreditkarte nochmals belastet obwohl es bereit vorher belastet wurde. Erst nach umständlicher Reklamation wurde das bessere Zimmer nicht belastet.

We had an issue with our room key and the staff was very efficient in resolving the problem. Breakfast beat expectations-delicious!!
